Yes, I'm still alive. No, I didn't give up this story. However, I'm in the middle of my exams period. The university is stressing me out. I need a break. I need to book my flight to Paris but my pc is being mean.

Cap America is a badass/kickass movie. I'm totally in love with Cap. Natasha smiles - a lot (it's scary) but it suits her. Marvel is driving me crazy, okay? I really need a break from all this stuff!

Thanks for sticking up with me even if I'm not much on ffnet anymore.

13 - Broken promise.

Charlie's small face appeared on the screen and Skye thought she was going to chock out with joy.

"Hiiii, Skye," her baby sister said, eagerly waving her hands in front of her.

Skye had a huge smile on her face. "Hey baby," she breathed, happiness burning her lungs.

"I miss you a lot. I miss you this much" Charlie said, opening her arms to show Skye how much she had missed her. "I miss my Iron Man doll and my fake Jack because I found the real Jack. Mr Fury is Jack and Maria is pretty cool but I don't like their food. I can make paper plane and pens and coins and tons of other stuff fly without nobody getting mad. And everyone is nice with me 'cause Jack tell them so. He's the boss he says," the kid uttered in a rather long breath and Skye wasn't sure she had understand everything. "I like Jack a lot but I wanna go home now. When are you coming and get me?"

Skye's heart sank. Guiltiness bit her stomach. "I'm sorry, baby but I can't come yet. You gotta stay there a bit longer, okay?"

If Charlie's eyes were full of happiness a second ago, now there was no trace of it left.

"But you said you'd come tomorrow!" Charlie accused, frustration starting to get the best of her. "And tomorrow is today. It's now."

"I know I said I'd come but I can't. Fury, well, Jack said I couldn't yet," Skye tried to make her understand but Charlie had her head down and Skye saw her small shoulders shaking. She was crying—because of her. "Charlie, baby, don't cry. You know I hate it when you cry."

Charlie raised her head and Skye saw something in her eyes that directly adressed to her. Anger and deception. "You said you'd never leave me. You promised me. I 'member."

And so did Skye. It was one of the first night when Charlie had officially moved on the plane to live with them. Charlie had a nightmare, a huge one who had scared her so badly that she had run so fast to Skye's bedroom and she had crawled upon the bed, her face full of tears. Then, she had made Skye promise to never ever leave her. Because she didn't want to be alone. It was too scary to be alone.

"Charlie. . ." Skye's voice was thick with guiltiness.

Charlie's shook her head. "You lied to me."

"I didn't," Skye prompted, hating the harsh feeling situated in her stomach. "I didn't. I'm coming to get you, I promise baby. I'm coming. You gotta trust me, okay? Remember what I said when you left with Maria?" Charlie looked away. She was mad at Skye right now but Skye refused to have Charlie hating her. She couldn't stand it. "I said I love you and I meant it. I love you more than anything. You're my baby, my favorite person. And it means I'm not giving up on you, never. I'm coming. I promise you," Skye finished.

All this sincerity had brought tears in her eyes but Charlie didn't look at her once. Her arms folded, Charlie was starting straight at the wall. Skye didn't keep her promise. Promise is one of the most important thing for a child.

"...'Don't believe you," Charlie barely said. And she left without any glance to Skye. The young hacher held back her tears as she felt like someone had just ripped her heart out and crushed it in front of her eyes.

What she didn't know was that Charlie didn't really leave the room but she was sitting in a corner of the room, silently crying out her sadness because she missed Skye like crazy and she wasn't there to hold her.
