Chad headed up the Bolton's garden path, noticing that Jack's car wasn't in the driveway. It had been about an hour since him and Taylor had caught Gabriella and he was still angry. He knocked on the door loudly, waiting for an answer. When no one answered, he looked under the plant pots for the spare key he knew the Boltons had. He knew someone was home, because all the lights were on. He unlocked the door and headed straight for Troy's room.

'TROY?' Chad shouted, as he went to open the bedroom door, only to find it locked. He knocked on the door, until a disgruntled Troy swung it open, poking his head through the crack, making it obvious he was only in his boxers.

'WHAT?' he snapped

'We need to talk to you! It's urgent' Chad said. Troy let out a groan of frustration and swung the door fully open, revealing Gabriella wrapped in only Troy's sheet. Troy sighed and turned to Gabriella.

'Get dressed, babe. They say they need to talk. And with Chad talking this could take a while' Troy said, before turning back to Chad. 'We'll meet you in the living room' Troy told him, but Chad shook his head.

'No, you know what? It can wait. I can tell from Gabriella's face that she's not happy about your quality time being interrupted' Chad said, before grabbing Taylor's hand and pulling her from the house.

'OI CHAD! YOU DON'T JUST-' Troy started to yell as he watched Chad leave the house, but Gabriella turned his attention back to her.

'Forget him, baby. Just come back to bed' whispered Gabriella, cupping his face in her hands and kissing his neck. Troy tried to resist her as he wondered what was wrong with Chad, but it was quickly fading as he fell into her arms, pulling her back to the bed and kicking the door shut...

The next morning, Troy entered their homeroom class, just seconds before the bell went off. Troy walked over to his seat and sat down, turning when Chad tapped him on the shoulder.

'No Gabriella?' he asked

'She left before I woke' Troy whispered back to Chad, who relayed Troy answer to Taylor.

'I'm telling you she's up to something!' Taylor hissed at him, making sure her voice was low enough for just Chad to hear. Just Ms Darbus walked into the room and silenced her class. She glanced up and saw Gabriella's seat empty and sighed.

'Mr Bolton, care to enlighten me at where Ms Montez is?'

'I don't know where she is, Ms Darbus. She's probably running late' he suggested

'Well, she's been running late for the past few weeks. The next you see her, tell her I want a word with her' Ms Darbus told Troy, who sighed and nodded...

It was free period and Troy and Chad were shooting some baskets in the gym.

'So hoops, did Gabriella tell you were she was last night?' Chad asked, as he shot a basket. Troy looked at him and stole the ball.

'Said she came from home. She was bored and wanted a little fun' Troy said, shooting a basket and then turning to look at Chad. 'Why? Whats wrong with you? You've been acting weird since yesterday'

'She's been lying to you... For weeks I suspect' Chad told Troy, who was staring at him, before Troy laughed.

'Nice one, dude. What else you got?' Troy said, laughing and heading to get the basketball.

'Troy! Me and Taylor saw her and Jay making out in his car! And by the looks of it, the affairs been going on weeks!' Chad shouted at Troy, who slowly went into shock as he processed the news. The room was silent for few minutes, before Troy spoke.

'Don't make crap up, Chad. Gabriella would never cheat on me. We love each other too much!' Chad sighed.

'She hasn't shown for homeroom for two weeks, suddenly, we hardly ever see her and she's spending all of her time with Jay'

'So what? She's allowed other friends, Chad!' Troy shouted, getting annoyed.

'RIGHT! You know what? You want to believe Gabriella's sweet and innocent, then so be it! I will get proof and I swear to God, when it all comes, you better not take her back!' Chad snarled, before he stormed from the gym, leaving Troy torn over who believe...

'Excuse me? I'm offended by that accusation!' Gabriella exclaimed at Troy's statement. Troy sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. He had messaged Gabriella in their free period to meet him in their spot, as he needed to get to the bottom of Chad's acccusations.

'Just tell me he's lying, Gabriella!' Troy asked.

'Of course, he is! What the hell do you think I am?' Gabriella demanded, her hands placed on her hips. Troy sighed again and rubbed his hands over his face.

'But why would he tell me that? Why would he accuse you of cheating?' Troy asked her. Gabriella shrugged her shoulders.

'Don't ask me! Now, if you'll excuse me I need to have a little word with Tay!' Gabriella said, before she disappeared from the rooftop, Troy watching her go, wanting so badly to believe her word...

SMACK!

A slap echoed through the girls bathroom, as Gabriella found Taylor and smacked her. Taylor's hand went up to protect her cheek and she slowly turned to Gabriella, shocked at her best friends actions.

'Whatever Chad has told Troy, it's a lie! Troy's just accused me of cheating on him! I would never do such a thing!' Gabriella exclaimed.

'I saw you, Gabriella! Last night, before you went to Troy's... You were at the cemetery and Jay joined you!' Taylor told her best friend.

'No, I wasn't! I was at home!' Gabriella argued

'Gabriella! We called at your house first! Your mother said you were out. It was Chad who figured out where you were!' Taylor shouted. Gabriella went silent as she tried to come up with a threat or something to prove Taylor wrong.

'Come on, Gabriella! You're cheating on Troy and your taking drugs, aren't you?' Taylor continued her rant, however Gabriella snapped her head up at the last statement what came out of Taylor mouth.

'Excuse me?' Gabriella said, her voice cold and low

'You're taking drugs! I can tell, Gabriella! Your skin is pale, and you've lost so much weight!' Taylor exclaimed her eyes filling with tears

'I'm not taking any drugs! How dare you accuse me of that! I've lost family members and one of my closest friends to-'

'GABRIELLA! STOP IT! STOP LYING!' Taylor screamed, making Gabriella flinch. Taylor opened her mouth to apologize for scaring her, but Gabriella ran from the bathroom and out of sight...

Luckily for Gabriella, Jay was just exiting class when she ran into him.

'Whoa! Careful, you okay?' he asked, concerned as he saw her tear stained face. He grabbed hand and pulled her outside and over to the fountain, making sure no one could hear them.

'Taylor knows! Her and Chad saw us last night! And she knows about the drugs!' Gabriella admitted, making Jay's eyes widen

'She knows what?' he hissed, grabbing Gabriella by the arms tightly. Gabriella gasped and he let go of her quickly. 'Sorry' he whispered, before motioning for her to carry on.

'Taylor said she knows because apparently I've lost loads of weight and my skin is paler than usual. But that doesn't mean anything, does it?' Gabriella asked him. Jay shook his head.

'Of course it doesn't! They don't know anything. And as long as you tell your friends to keep their mouths shut, nothing will happen to them' Jay said. Gabriella nodded and hugged him. She started to pat down his pockets, making him frown and pull away from the hug.

'What's wrong?' he asked

'What do you mean what's wrong? Don't you have anything on you?' Gabriella asked. Jay's eyes widened slightly.

'You used it all already?' he hissed, watching as Gabriella nodded.

'It was the size of a grape! Did you really think that was going to last me all week?' Gabriella asked, making sure Jay's attention was on her, as she slipped his phone out of his pea coat pocket and sliding it up her own sleeve to hide it from him.

'My Moms getting suspicious, you're going to have to wait!' Jay told her, before the lunch time bell rang and the students came flooding out of the doors.

'How long?' Gabriella asked

'A few days at least. I can't let her get whiff of this! You know what will happen, BrieElla!' Jay said, locking their eyes together. Gabriella nodded and sighed, watching as Jay walked away. She made sure he was gone, before he pulled out his phone and dialed a number she had seen him dial before...

'Wow! Here's a face I haven't seen in a while!' said Michael, as Gabriella came into view. She headed towards him, her hand clenched around a twenty dollar note.

'Shut up, Michael. Did you get it?' she asked. Michael looked down at her and pulled white little package from his coat. He held out his hand and Gabriella handed him the twenty dollar note, as he handed over the little square packet.

'Don;t use it all at once, Gabriella!' he said, chuckling. Gabriella glared at him and put the packet in her coat pocket, before turning to walk away, when his voice stopped her.

'Tell Jay I expect to see him soon! I'll be waiting!' Michael shouted, as she began walking away again, putting her earphones back in her ears and turning her music up, as she walked along the well lit streets of Albuquerque at night...
