Pokѐmon Journey II: Gwyn's Passage

Chapter 13: Anything but Quiet, Little Cianwood

Gwyn's Point of View:

We got Aaron easily enough on our way out through of the Lighthouse. He got sour again as soon as he saw Tristan, but had simmered a bit when he saw me, saying he was thankful I wasn't hurt, he even thanked Tristan for making sure I didn't get hurt while he was trapped up in a battle.

That I couldn't believe happened before my very eyes, Tristan and Aaron got along for the smallest amount of time, and it was over my safety. Wow…

Anyway, we happened to just make it in time for that ship to grab us over in Olivine and we made it to Cianwood shortly before eight, which was where they stopped sending out ships, but would still receive them if they came since Cianwood bay didn't have as many rocks or harsh currents that Olivine had, so it was easier to get to shore, even without vision. Even though it wasn't too early in the evening, we wanted to get a head start in the morning, and I mean the early morning. Apparently so does the town since everything opens really early and closes pretty late here. But even so, that pharmacy was closed right now, so we could only wait and get our gym badges. Since Aaron had too much energy still, he went over to the gym to see if he could get his gym badge. Tristan decided that he just wanted to go to bed early, and I told him I'd follow right after him.

I was on the edge of our balcony now to the room we were staying in, in the pokemon center. It was a quiet night and the few lights at the docks that were still on, also respectably a few buildings on the island, created almost a light show of glittering colors in the dark night that had just finally settled in at almost nine-o-clock. All my pokemon were still up and about, filled with endless energy that they just couldn't get rid of. I allowed them to do all they could to get their energy down enough that they could sleep. The three older pokemon were running about in circles and roughhousing with each other while Ticky was just fling around in the air, enjoying the cooler night air. I was dressed in my night clothes, a long sleeved Caribbean colored shirt that was largely cut off above my shoulders so it hung over one and sagged and bagged over another, I also had on a pair of thin sweat pants, dark, rich blue with a sky blue overlapping fabric over part of the top and some lettering on the pant leg.

It was then that suddenly something caught Ticky's eye off in the distance and she tilted her head in confusion as she looked at it before she started to fly off and away. "Ticky! Where are you going?" I tried to reach out and grab her, but she suddenly came out of my reach. "Crud!" I hit my fist on the railing and I pulled it back in pain. "Oww! Okay, that wasn't exactly smart…"

I looked around worriedly and quickly for anyway I could get off the balcony and follow after her. After returning my pokemon quickly in case something bad happened, I saw a sand pile directly to the side. It was the fastest way down…

"Okay, time to be an idiot again…" I stepped onto the edge of the ledge, hearing it squeak under my weight that I'm sure it wasn't use to. I suddenly lept from the edge toward the sand pile and instantly curled up as I crashed into it, the rolled down onto the ground, hitting my back from the fall. I spat out some sand that had made its way into my mouth and groaned. "Pleh!"

Most of the sand was dry, and it's what saved myself when I landed. The pile I used to help myself down had lost its structure and was now all over the place, most of it leading toward where I was sitting. I suddenly remembered Ticky and I looked to the sky above. I just barely saw one of her feet before she disappeared down into a set of large rocks that led in a bit to Cianwood's mainland island. I hurried to my feet and chased after her.

I had to change my direction very often because of all the jagged rocks, I often bumped into them and scratched myself, but other then that, I was okay. I kept calling out for my little baby pokemon, but I heard nothing from her. "Ticky!"

"Toge!" I heard my baby pokemon's cry in the distance, it was a cheerful one, which made me calm myself slightly, but she still wasn't with me, so I wasn't entirely calmed down. I hurried around the corner, which led to a hidden tunnel-like hole from the mountains above that made it hard to see the top, and from the top, the bottom.

I looked inside and instantly saw Ticky; she almost seemed to be talking with someone. My other three pokemon released themselves from their pokeballs and hurried past me to get to their sister and quickly started to scold her. I hurried up to them to stop it before it got ugly.

"That's enough!" My pokemon instantly all quieted and a sobbing Ticky flew into my arms. "Ticky… you made Momma and your siblings worry, why'd you go?" She rubbed her face in my chest a bit before she pointed behind all of us, deeper into the open tunnel and I saw a large beast that was lying on the ground. Its major colors were blue and purple, with maybe some white. My eyes widened when I saw it and I couldn't help but slowly step forward to look at the beast better.

"Suicune?" The beast lifted its large head to look at us. I was right; it was the beast of the north wind and water. I gasped and all my pokemon froze before Ticky pulled herself out of my arms and pushed me toward it. I jumped into a sprint and only a couple feet from it I tripped and fell to my knees in the soft sand toward it. I suddenly felt like I halted when my body crashed into something, most likely Suicune, and my arms wrapped around its head I pulled back when a bit of the dust cloud had cleared and saw its eyes looking deeply into mine.

"Sorry…" I muttered, rubbing the back of my head. I then reached around its neck and hugged it. "But you have no idea how wonderful it is to see you again!"

I could feel the majestic legendary beast nod behind me and it curled its head behind me as if to return the hug I gave it. I pulled back a bit to look at its face. "But why are you here? And where's Entei and Raikou?"

Suicune pointed her head up to the ridge above. I looked up to where it was looking and I saw the outline of a shaggy looking beast, which I had to assume, was Entei since none of the three beasts were shaggy in fur except for it. But I saw no other beast, but I could feel something stormy in the air, electricity? Even on a calm night like this? It had to be the work of Raikou who must have been near by. On closer inspection of Entei, he was watching the area from where I came.

"Wait, Entei's watching the pokemon center, that's where Tristan is," I blinked and looked back to Suicune who nodded. "And Raikou is somewhere else on the island; he must be near by Aaron. And you're here with me." Suicune nodded again and I blinked as realization hit me. "You're watching over the three of us."

"Cue," its voice sounded windy, like a gust of wind came out at the same time as its speech. "Cue."

"I guess I must have scared you guys back with the Team Rocket event back in Ecruteak, sorry about that." I rubbed the back of my head and called Ticky down into my arms. She curled in there, remembering that horrible day. "He took Ticky from me, my baby; I couldn't just sit by and watch it happen!"

"Cue," Suicune nodded to me and I relaxed.

"Thank you for understanding Suicune, the boys were okay about it, but they've been paranoid that I'd get hurt again and have been watching me twenty-four seven. I guess it was alright when Tristan caught me from when I fell in the Lighthouse back in Olivine, but other then that, it's been pretty annoying."

Suicune only nodded again and I saw how tired it was, and then I felt how tired I was. My pokemon all walked toward me before curling up in my after I had moved right next to Suicune so it could lay its head down.

"Do you mind if we stay here with you tonight?" It shook its head and fanned its purple hair down onto us for extra warmth. I curled up instantly and the last thing I remembered was feeling when the beast of the north wind placed its head on my lap.

"Suicune!" I was startled awake from shouting down in the rock like alley way that we were in. I raised my head and looked around for any signs of what was going on. Suicune on the other hand was quick to its feet and pulled me up with its mouth. I suddenly felt my body be thrown into the air before I landed on Suicune's back. My daze was gone then and I quickly returned my pokemon, even Ticky, to their pokeballs.

As the voice got closer, I felt the muscles tense under me from Suicune before it leapt off the ground and I had to grip onto it as Suicune sped up the wall. I suddenly felt my heart race as Suicune leapt into the air and I felt the salty breeze almost pushing us in the air, furthering our distance between the person who called out to this legendary beast. I didn't see Entei around, and neither did I see Raikou.

I suddenly cried out as we crashed into something, it was then that I realized that Suicune had led me back to the balcony that I was on last night. I slid off of Suicune's back and hurried to grab its snot and hugged its head before it could take off. Suicune was startled a bit, but leaned into the suddenly touch of mine.

"Be careful Suicune, I'll see you soon." Suicune nodded its head before it pulled away from my arms and jumped over the ledge. I hurried over to the edge and watched as it ran off toward the ocean. I gasped in surprise when I saw that Suicune ran across the water as it made its escape from the person apparently shouting its name.

"What the hell?" I turned around to face the two boys who I roomed with for the night that I really didn't stay in. The boys took in my dirtied appearance and as my pokemon let themselves out of their pokeballs before they went into freak-out mode.

"Gwyn! Are you alright?" Tristan started to brush a bit of the dirt that had gotten on me in a rush when Suicune had jumped from the sandy beach hidden tunnel like place we stayed in.

"Don't worry you guys, I'm fine-EE!" I jumped when I felt a hand hit my butt and it automatically caused me to grab onto Tristan who happened to be right before me. He blinked in surprise and I turned worriedly behind me while practically being in Tristan's arms while looking at Aaron who had a bright red blush on his face. My pokemon threateningly growled at him and dared him to say anything.

"I'm so sorry Gwyn," his blush got darker on his face and he ducked. "I only meant to brush off some dirt on your lower back…"

Apparently my pokemon didn't deem that as a good explanation since they all attacked him, even Ticky now got into the action. The force of their action also pushed me further into chest of Tristan. I felt his hands gently rest themselves on my arms, unsure of what else to do with them before I felt one of them quickly release my right arm and it wrapped around my back and forced me to move to where I was against the edge and Tristan was what stood before me and the others. He grunted, I saw the sliver of pain in his face while he tried to stay calm. I looked over his shoulder to see that Sunrise had been thrown at his back.

"Alright!" I pushed myself onto the tips of my toes to look over Tristan's shoulder and shout at them. "Enough!" Everyone froze under my command and Aaron was dropped in the middle of them. He grunted his thanks and moved out of the way before my pokemon could attack him again. "Save your energy for our gym battle, we need to get over there quickly and take care of that." I turned to my beat up friend. "Aaron, you got your badge right?"

"Easily, I had Pidgeot to beat them all; Chuck's gym is a fighting type one." He jerked his finger over at Tristan. "He did alright too because of Golbat."

"Your pokemon evolved?" I had released Tristan by now and I almost heard him sigh when I did that. I walked out and around him and grabbed a hold of Ticky, who sourly curled up in my arms, unable to finish her enjoyable fun of hurting Aaron.

"Of course!" Aaron then used that moment to gloat and get his word in. "And even more will evolve at the next one!"

"What about you Tristan? Have your pokemon evolved?" I turned away from Aaron to look at him. "Or have you gotten the gym badge already?"

"I have the gym badge and Croconaw evolved into Feraligatr. I'll show you later on." He pulled out his badge case and showed me the fifth badge that looked a lot like a fist. "But we should probably get going, we still have to pick up the medicine, have you get your gym badge and still get back to Olivine to give the medicine to Jasmine."

"And the boats are running now, but no passenger ships are running until about nine. And its about six now, and I think the gym is open," Aaron said, getting up from where he was painfully on the ground.

"What about the pharmacy?" I questioned.

"I think it may be open soon enough." Tristan shrugged. "Would you like first turn with the shower?"

"Actually I would, I'm covered in dirt." I looked over myself. "Although that would be from the sand pile I threw myself into last night."

"Wait, what?" Both boys raised their eyebrows. I sighed and walked over to the bathroom.

"Yeah, I'll tell you in a bit and on our way over to the pharmacy."

HalloweenWitchHalloweenWitch

"So the legendary beasts are following after us and are protecting us?" Tristan summed up as we made our way to the southern part of the island. It was apparently there were the pharmacy was located where we needed that special medicine for Ampy.

"Yeah, I didn't see Raikou, but I assume that he was off keeping an eye on you, Aaron." I commented while my pokemon quickly kept up with me in the quiet streets of the early morning. Cianwood was still almost dead at the early morning hour of six-thirty. The pharmacy was only a few minutes away and we planned to get the medicine first before I had my gym battle and then we would head back to Olivine.

"Hey, is there some sort of little commotion over there or something?" Aaron pointed out to the area before us, just slightly ahead by about a hundred feet or so. Looking up a head, we saw a single man that was apparently chasing after two pokemon that seemed to be running from them.

The first of the pokemon seemed to be the faster of the two; it was quick on its feet and dark in appearance. It appeared to have long, decorative feathers of a magenta-red by its rear for a scattered tail, and a single one or two behind its ear. It had long, pearl white claws on both its hands and feet, made up of only two fingers and toes per hand and foot. A pendant like gold piece was on its head and the top of its chest, just below its neck. It was a small body, probably not even waist high on me and had large red eyes, which were fearfully trying to look away at the man behind it, but also keep an eye on the other pokemon that was holding onto it to get away.

The second pokemon seemed to have a red shell with many holes that led to the inside, a yellow, worm like head that had tiny pebble black eyes worriedly looking back at the man while its other four arms that it probably used for normal movement were holding on for dear life as they ran from the man.

They didn't look from this distance to be having any fun and were running away from him, as if he was a danger. It suddenly gave me these freakish goose bumps that just crawled under my skin, making my body shiver and I suddenly bound forward.

"Hey you!" The pokemon instantly froze and halted in their tracks; apparently the man had never heard me because he roughly caught up with them and grabbed them both, swinging them about painfully. I turned to my pokemon. "Cynder, flamethrower! Shocker, shock wave! Sunrise, shadow ball! Ticky, ancient power!" All four of my pokemon howled angrily as they launched their attacks at the man and I heard him scream as they hid his body and head dead on, releasing his grip on the two smaller pokemon. All three bodies hit the ground and we rushed over to them. The pokemon we quickly pulled out of the way. I grabbed the shelled pokemon while Tristan grabbed the dark furred one. The man angrily looked up at us, but as soon as he saw our faces, he jumped to his feet and took off in the other direction.

"Hey! Get back here you jerk! You-you-" I couldn't think of a darn thing! "You pokemon attacking thug!"

"Wow Gwyn, I think that was the closest you ever came to swearing." Aaron chuckled as he watched the sight before him.

I merely huffed at him. There were more pressing matters to deal with then whether or not I swore. I looked down to the trembling pokemon in my arms. It was curling into the warmth of my body, but it was still shaking in pure terror.

"Hey Aaron, can you go pick up that medicine for Ampy while Tristan and I go and take these two poor pokemon back to the pokemon center?" My best friend looked over at me worriedly for a moment. "We won't be long, but we need to find some place for these two to stay and get them checked over and helped."

Aaron finally relented when he saw we were practically already moving.

Tristan and I had arrived at the pokemon center a while back to get the two pokemon that we'd found looked over, fearing they wouldn't be okay, but we were surprised to find that they were calm around most humans, but didn't like to many of us around, other the Tristan and I. Nurse Joy found a few old scars on them, probably that man taking out his anger on them, a few new ones were there as well, but they would heal in time. Pokemon had remarkably faster healing rates then humans.

"It's a good thing you brought those poor pokemon here," Nurse commented to us as she handed them both back to the respective trainer that brought them here. "They almost looked like they've been kidnapped and beaten by Team Rocket!"

The pokemon that we held in our arms didn't say anything respectively. It was horrible to see them like this. Nurse Joy had brought out some food, predominantly berries to help them heal faster. The shelled pokemon in my lap, wrapped up in my warm white jacket at the moment to keep more heat on it, was practically shoving them down its throat while eating or saving the berries inside its shell.

"Well, now that they're eating now, let's see what kind of pokemon they are." I pulled out my pokedex and pointed it first at the pokemon over in Tristan's lap.

Sneasel, the sharp claw pokemon. Vicious in nature, its drives pidgey from their nests and scavenges any leftovers it can find. Its paws conceal its sharp claws. If attacked, it suddenly extends the claws and startles its enemy. Sneasel nests are rare and tend to only be found in this region on route twenty-eight and the dangerous Mt. Silver.

I then turned the pokedex to the one in my arms. Shuckle, the mold pokemon. It stores berries inside its shell. The berries it stores in its case-like shell decompose and become a gooey liquid. To avoid attacks, it hides beneath rocks and remains completely still. Shuckle nests tend to be found rarely in port like cities, including Cianwood and its Safari Zone, under large rocks once destroyed or moved.

"What will we do with these pokemon now?" Tristan questioned as he watched the sneasel eat aggressively. I patted the shuckle's head and he shied from me and I tried to gently hush him while gently stroking his head and pushed the food he had yet to eat closer to him and take the empty plates away.

"Don't worry little shuckle, your safe now, eat as much as you like." He worriedly looked up at me before I left it be and that was when it finally turned back to his food and ate. I turned back to Tristan. "I don't know, to be honest, I don't know if we can just randomly put these pokemon back out in the wild, they're really paranoid around humans and may lash out accidentally at someone. We also can't just drop them off with just anyone, this looks like a cruelty case that just can't be left up to anyone."

"Not to be rude, but why not take them with you?" Nurse Joy suggested as she came back with some extra bandages and tools. "You are their saviors; you might be the only humans they may give a chance, compared to others. And after seeing what they've been through, I don't blame them if they don't like humans again." She set some more food before the sneasel and it hissed as she approached it. She calmly set the food down before it before walking over and giving more to the shuckle next to me. The shuckle worriedly backed up, or tried to, and ended up sliding a bit out of my jacket and into my stomach. He fearfully looked up at me. He looked so sad and fearful, he needed some love.

I leaned down and planted a small peck on the top of the pokemon's head. His eyes widened as he looked up at me and a faint darker color, which I assumed was a blush for this pokemon, appeared under his eyes and on his cheeks. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Tristan and the sneasel were shocked as well, Nurse Joy only smiled at me. I grinned happily down at the pokemon, trying to show my kindness to it.

"Don't worry; you're really safe now, honest." The pokemon was still stunned in my arms. I couldn't help but giggle lightly for some strange reason.

"You see?" Nurse Joy said as she pointed out to them. "They don't like me, but they seem to be alright with you, even if they are still a bit afraid. Why don't you let out the rest of your pokemon and see if they will help get them more acquainted?"

"Sure, why not." My pokemon had returned themselves to their pokeballs for the time being to keep out of the way and make the pokemon we were helping a little more at ease with fewer people around, but now that they were needed, they popped out easily and surrounded the shuckle and myself. They started to talk to him and he had many questions for my pokemon, but they all answered with ease and climbed up to all snuggle around him, with the exception of Ticky who dropped herself into my arms.

I then heard Tristan release his pokemon as well and I watched as his three pokemon emerged, though one of them was much larger in appearance as it towered over us by many feet. It looked to be the evolution of Croconaw that Tristan had been telling me about, Feraligatr. The beast was probably near ten feet tall and towered over all of us. Its body was a bit lankier now and covered in more protective thick skin and scales on its body, and the spikes on its back were standing fully out in a bright red-orange. Its teeth were monstrously huge and its tail was as long as my arm span. Its color was still primarily a light blue, with a few specks of tan here and there, like on its stomach and under its chin. Its claws were long and sharp, ready to strike and its red eyes grinned down at the tiny sneasel that was no bigger then its claw. I pulled out my pokedex to look it up.

Feraligatr, the big jaw pokemon and the evolved form of croconaw. It's hard for it to support its weight out of water, so it sometimes gets down on all fours, but it moves fast. When it bites with its massive and powerful jaws, it shakes its head and savagely tears its victim up. There are no known nests for Feraligatr in this region.

"Cool… with Feraligatr on your team, it must have made the gym battle pretty easy." Tristan shrugged his shoulders.

"To be honest Gwyn, even with his newly evolved form, it wasn't the easiest battle either. I don't know what to tell you as to how to help you other then that Chuck is a fighting type trainer, which makes most battles against him pretty easy for Ticky, should you let her get involved in a battle," Tristan noted. I saw him searching the back of his mind for the memories of his own battle. "He faced me in a three on three, but it's up to you to decide what you want to do."

"No, I think that's good. Ticky can definitely try and Shocker and Cynder can get in some more training, and it's about time for Ticky to try facing against gym battles as well." Ticky grinned as she saw this new opportunity for a real gym battle. "Sunrise, I'll have you sit this one out, with it being a fighting type gym, you'd be Ko'd in a minute, so unless I have to, I'd rather you not battle this time around, okay?"

Sunrise sulked at the fact that she wouldn't be battling, but sucked it up and nodded while she curled her body around my neck, having jumped up there a moment before. She reminded me a bit of Chalcedony when she did that. I rubbed the side of her face and she seemed to like it for the most part.

"Don't worry, you'll get first crack after the gym battle with any trainers we come across." It seemed to cheer up Sunrise a bit, but she still didn't seem to like the fact that she wouldn't be battling. She settled down on the back of my neck and just lazily laid there while her face was curled into the side of my neck.

"Well, I better get going then." I sighed and rose from my seat with the shuckle in hand. I pulled out a pokeball and the pokemon stiffened at that before he withdrew into his shell. "Relax Shelly," the pokemon looked up at me in question from within his shell. "Yes I called you that, just because you're a guy doesn't mean you can't have that name. And this pokeball, if I put you in there, makes you safe from all other trainers who want to capture you." His head poked out and looked up at me worriedly. "You'll never have to fight another day again, I promise. And in the future, if you feel comfortable enough, I can send you back with my mother, she's a really nice woman and I bet you and her could be good friends, not to mention that we have lots of berry trees all around the town, a lot of them being right next to our house on our land that you could eat or make into berry juice or do whatever you want with!"

Shelly seemed to really like the idea. "Shuckle!"

"But it's still your choice, if you don't want to go with me that's fine, but I have to warn you that some pokemon service will try to take you in with your fear of most humans and try to force you to like them all over again-"

Quicker then I even thought possible, Shelly stuck his head out and struck the pokeball with it. His body glowed and turned red before he was pulled into the small device. It shook a few times or more before the pokeball settled and Shelly was caught inside. I raised my eyebrows in shock, so did everyone in the room.

"I guess he really didn't want to go." The pokeball he'd been captured in was one of the pokeballs I'd gotten from Kurt, it was called a heavy ball for larger sized pokemon that weighed, like, over two hundred or something pounds, and even though I knew Shelly wasn't that heavy, I decided to give it to him anyway. The heavy ball itself was a very dark gray in color with two lumps of a gray blue color on each side of the top.

"So what do you plan to do Gwyn? Head to the gym?" Tristan questioned me.

"Yeah, I need to get that next badge of mine and then we need to quickly head back over to Olivine to help Ampy and Jasmine." I shook my head. "While you're at it, since you're free now for the most part and you've had your battle, do you mind hunting down Aaron? He should have been back with the medicine by now."

"I don't particularly mind. I'll go find the idiot and we'll meet you over at the gym, so if you finish your battle, please wait there for us."

"Sure," I got up from my seat and gave him a smile. "I'll see you in an hour or two then!"

HalloweenWitchHalloweenWitch

It took me only a short while to get over to the gym toward the west part of town. All of my pokemon were excited to battle, especially Ticky, it would be her first gym battle, and even a trainer battle to be honest. She was excited beyond belief that she'd finally have a chance to battle someone, other then bad guys who were attacking me or Aaron…

Anyway, upon entering the gym, I was surprised to see that there was two small man-made waterfalls on the trainer's side of the field with the water gently flowing over the field and down through some sort of large cracks behind the gym leader's side of the field. I walked along the somewhat flooded floor and looked down into the large crack where a larger waterfall went down and flooded a place below, the only source of light from where I was standing down there, and maybe a torch or two.

"Hello?" I called down to the bottom, though not seeing anything or anyone down there. "Is anybody here? I'd like a gym battle!"

I suddenly felt the ground, or overhand I was standing on I guess, begin to shake and suddenly from the dark a figure of some sort lept out of the hole from the bottom of the nearly one-hundred or so foot drop at the bottom of the waterfall to stand right before me. The shock and the sudden landing of the person surprised me and somehow got me to yelp out of shock as I fell back and hit the ground, my pokemon crawled all over me and growled at the figure and dared it to come closer.

I was taken back with the small dust cloud over the person cleared. There was a body, a man's body that had his lower half sticking out of the ground form his landing. He pushed himself out of the ground and I inwardly shrunk back form him. He was a larger man; that was for sure from his muscular build, even if it did look like he had a bear gut with all that muscle. His brown hair was short and somewhat spiked on the edges; the only exception was the small wisp of it that was curled on his forehead. He also had a slight beard on him. He wore no shirt, only a pair of what looked to be really roughed up and torn on the edges sweatpants, a reddish pink in color with a black belt tied around his waist.

"Hee hee! I guess I gotta work on my landing!" He only laughed it off as he stood up to his feet and held out a hand for me. "Sorry for the scare girly, name's Chuck, I'm the gym leader here."

"I-It's alright." I took his hand and got to my feet. My pokemon crawled off of me, all but Cynder who didn't exactly like the water much since she was a fire type. I held her in my arms while I faced Chuck. "I'm Gwyn Jalen and I'm here to face you for my fifth gym badge."

"Oh! Well then let's get started!" He grinned and walked over to a wall that stopped the flow of the waterfalls. The water slowly moved out and soon there was a damp field for us to work with. Cynder sighed and allowed herself to relax and I set her down on the ground. She puffed out some fire at the field, drying up a spot where she sat and sighed that it was finally warm and dry.

"I guess your pokemon doesn't exactly like my waterfalls here." Chuck could only chuck at my little fire misfit. I shrugged at him.

"I don't think it's the waterfall in general, just the water." I emphasized on the word as I roll my eyes and led my pokemon to the other side of the field. "She is a fire type after all."

"Right, right." He waved it off and took to his side of the field while Cynder dried up ours and we stood in our blocks. "I hope your ready kid, just because you may be a bit famous on the mainland doesn't mean I plan to go easy on you."

"Good, I don't want you to." I looked over at Ticky. "Do you want to give it a try?" She nodded her head eagerly and rushed forward on the field. I could see the happiest grin on her face as she finally was going to get to battle.

"Good to see you want to battle! Now don't hold back girly!" he pulled out a pokeball. "Let's go Tyrogue!" Out from the pokeball and into the light came a small purple skinned pokemon that seemed to be a bit more human in shape. It had legs and arms with maybe three fingers on it. It was wearing an old rag like pair of pants and a set of brown shoes. It had on no shirt and had a wider head then a normal human with a couple spikes of skin on it. Its eyes were black.

I pulled out my pokedex to give me a bit of information on the new fighting type I've yet to meet. Tyrogue, the scuffle pokemon. Even though it is small, it can't be ignored because it will slug any handy targets without warning. It is always bursting with energy. To make itself stronger, it keeps on fighting even if it looses. There are no known tyrogue nests in this region.

This sounds like a good match for Ticky, I just hope she doesn't have too hard of a time. I bit my lip and looked out onto the field as the two pokemon hung out there, waiting for orders. The smaller fighting type was bouncing in place as it waited, eager to start.

"First move to the challenger!" Chuck called out.

"Fine! Ticky! Start out with ancient power!" My little normal and flying type pokemon grinned and from a purple light that appeared all around her came those rocks that would suddenly appear at times. She started chucking them at the pokemon that was on the other side of the field, but for some reason it was really quick on its feet and jumped form one area to the next, avoiding her attacks. She grunted in disapproval, but it's not like I could make the target stand still for her. Ticky soon ran out of rocks and had to get more, giving the pokemon a moment to catch its breath, even though it seemed to not be breathing heavily.

"Alright, now go in for the attack Tyrogue! Don't hold back! Mega punch that puny flying type as many times as you can!" The fighting type nodded to its trainer, a serious face set upon its head and it leapt up into the air, right where Ticky was. Its fist suddenly glowed and it threw it at Ticky, which she managed to barely escape by using her ancient power attack to put the rocks in the way and protect her. Some of the shattered rock fragments were hurled at her, Ticky got a taste of how much physical power it had, and I saw the fear in her face.

"It's okay Ticky! If you're scared then come back!" I tried to call out to her, she was my baby after all, and a mother has to protect her child. But Ticky would hear nothing of it. Somehow my comment brought her back to her senses and she easily got back into the battle.

It was just as if… something had clicked…

Ticky let out a screeching cry and shook about her hands before a giant vortex of dark purple and black energy opened above the field. I watched in almost horror as Ticky screamed and threw her arms down. From the vortex came these large meteors that were most definitely on fire as they flew at the enemy pokemon. Like before it dodged her attack, but this time she was closer with the larger rocks to deal with throwing at him, and eventually he ran out of places to run to when he was stuck in a spot surrounded by many meteors. Ticky grinned as she saw her opponent down there; another meteor flew form the vortex and slammed down on top of the pokemon.

"Tyrogue!" Chuck called out to his pokemon.

Ticky breathed heavily from up in the air, she'd used a lot of energy calling on those two attacks, not to mention that I never through she'd be able to summon the attack "draco meteor", the most powerful known dragon move in the world…

"We're not done yet!" Chuck called out as I heard a cracking from under the bolder. My eyes widened as I saw a hand emerge from the pile of rocks that shattered and fell in millions of pieces form the meteor that fell upon it. The tyrogue was breathing heavily, but it still seemed to have a little energy left yet to finish off its battle with Ticky. She growled in response as I quickly tried to think of a way to help her win, an attack that would be super effective.

"That's it!" I finally figured it out! The one super effective move I knew that Ticky had that was a flying type move! "Aerial ace!"

Ticky nodded and quickly flew in a three-sixty to catch up some more speed before she slammed right into the pokemon atop of the rocks. It threw back the fighting pokemon and it had a then surprised look on its face before it hit the wall and its face vanished upon impact within the cloud of dust form the impact.

Chuck was quick to respond; he rushed over to the pile and started to pull of rocks to find his pokemon. Chuck found him quickly enough when the dust cleared, and he was out of the count. He sighed as he pulled his pokemon out of the pile of rubble in his arms. He then pulled out a pokeball.

"Thanks Tyrogue, you did wonderfully, we'll train more once you're healed." He returned the fallen pokemon and pulled out another.

"Come back Ticky! You were amazing, but I don't think you should try another battle until we get in some more training." My little baby pokemon nodded her head and gently floated her way over to me and dropped her body into my arms. "Don't worry, Shocker and Cynder will handle the rest of them. Take a good long rest, okay?" She nodded to me and I returned her before Cynder made her way out onto the field. She puffed out a large sum of smoke and fire; she was ready for her fight.

"What a ready fighter! I like the fire in your pokemon's eyes!" Chuck laughed, even if he was losing by one pokemon right now. "Now let's see you face my next pokemon! Let's go Primeape!"

A large brute of a pokemon was sent out next, it honestly reminded me of a really fuzzy fluff ball that had arms and legs extended out of its fur with black training rings around its wrists and ankles. Its fur was a tan off white color and its angry black eyes glared at Cynder and myself.

"Okay then…" I pulled out my pokedex and pointed it at the pokemon. Primeape, the pig monkey pokemon and the evolved form of mankey. It becomes wildly furious, even if it only senses someone looking at it. It chases anyone that meets its glare. There are no known primeape nests in this region.

"Well that's wonderful to know…" I huffed to myself as I looked back at the angry pokemon that was dancing around in anger before I literally saw its eyes turn red in rage and it began to pound the ground, ready to move without the word of its trainer. "Let's go Cynder! Be careful! It looks like this one's got a really short temper!" Cynder nodded her head to me and watched the growling beast carefully.

"Alright Primeape! Let's start out with low kick!" The beast bound forward and rolled its way at my small fire type before swinging off the ground with its arms and throwing its leg at my pokemon. Cynder leapt over it and rolled to the side while the opposing pokemon ground its hands and feet on the ground to halt itself and then throw it at my quilava. It tried the attack once more and once again Cynder was able to avoid it. I saw the after marks to its moves, leaving large holes and burns in the ground, leaving me stiff and somewhat petrified of fighting types now. "Man, am I glad I didn't put Sunrise in this battle…"

"Quil!" I looked out onto the field and saw Cynder looking at me with a desperate look to give her an order to fight back.

"Sorry Cynder!" I quickly shook myself out of it. "Alright girl! Start with flame wheel! Barbeque that pokemon!" My pokemon finally grinned at me and nodded before she threw her body into a roll and sped forward. The flames instantly covered her body so she was nothing but a rolling ball of fire. She threw her attack at the primeape and it was thrown back, but certainly not stopped from the way I saw its feet dig into the ground to plant itself. Cynder came around another time and hit it again; the pokemon kept taking a beating from her attacks and once she thought she had him cornered, she stepped out of her roll. "Ember!"

Her hot flames exited her mouth and were blasted at the beast that just couldn't escape in the spot it was in. It took on the flames, which for some reason seemed to be a bit hotter then they normally were. I saw a flash in Cynder's eyes, a glowing of some sort, before the flames became even more intense.

"Cynder! Are you okay?" Cynder threw herself away from the primeape and turned to glance at me and nod before she turned back to the battle, but I saw something was going on. Her eyes kept glowing every now and then, especially when she blew out fire attacks at the other side. What was that glowing? Was it hurting her? Did for some strange and abnormal reason this primeape knew some sort of strange move that was doing this to Cynder?

"Its time to fight back!" Chuck awoke me with his yelling upon the field. "Show that girl how agile you can be Primeape! Get out of her reach and use focus energy!" The primeape nodded and lept out of the flames of my fire type, running toward a large rock in the corner that it could hide behind. It jumped behind it, its foot being grazed by the nipping flames from Cynder's mouth. She kept blowing fire at the rock at it had taken refuge from behind it and her fire just wasn't reaching it. She growled and tried sending more fire, but all it was doing was tiring her out more.

"Cynder calm down! We'll figure something out, keep a calm head!" She simply shook her head and kept trying to fry the pokemon. "Cynder! Calm down!"

I didn't know what was wrong with her, she was never disobedient to me, she and I loved each other too much to go against one another, even her fiery personality wouldn't have forced her to disobey. It was then that I looked at her again that I saw she had that glow in her eyes.

"Quil quil!" She begged me to let her keep blasting at him, telling me her fire was getting hotter. "Quil quil!" Her stomach felt like the heart of a volcano, her fire was getting hotter, she could feel it.

"Are you sure Cynder?" My pokemon easily nodded to me eagerly and this time waited on my orders. I could see the fire on her body getting stronger. "Alright, keep up the attack! Ember!"

Cynder forced the fire to emerge from her gut and blast the rock again, this time, she didn't stop. She kept up the attack, but it seemed as she grew more tired, her attacks were getting stronger… this must have been her blaze ability, increasing fire power when she was getting tired.

"Quil!" Cynder cried out, I saw a single tear escape her eyes before they glowed brighter then before. "QUIL!" Her fire nearly exploded as it came out of her mouth and raced at the rock, now engulfing it and a sudden brightness taking over the room, but it wasn't from the fire, but from Cynder herself. I watched as her glowing eyes spread to the rest of her body and she turned entirely white. As the fire got stronger, she got larger. I saw her body fill out and she rose off her four paws to her two back ones while nearly jumping in height to well over what my top height was. She had to be at least seven feet and her body was no longer skinny and it filled out that she could wrap herself around me with all her body mass and fur, though her fur still looked fine and short.

The fire exploded from her mouth and engulfed that entire corner before the wall behind the rock shattered and so did the rock that it was attacking, leaving us all to shield ourselves from the heat and light.

Tristan's Point of View:

"I hate you so much, I was coming right along. You didn't have to drag me out of the store!" Aaron hollered at me as I walked a few paces before him with his precious hat in my hands to make sure he'd follow. He'd been reluctant to leave the pharmacy earlier due to a friendship he'd made with the medicine man. I didn't want to seem rude at the time, but Gwyn had given me an order to get him, and time was pressed. We still had to get back to Olivine and help out Jasmine and that little pokemon of hers that she was nursing back to health.

"Gywn is waiting for us at the gym, in case you've forgotten." I tried my best to make my voice sound neutral to him, but Aaron had a strange knack for figuring things out about that even I didn't know, and I him as well. Aaron and I just couldn't get along, the only thing we had in common was our friendship with Gwyn Jalen, it was the only thing that brought us together, other then for battles and to prove who's stronger, which constantly has been me while Aaron's been a sore looser. While I admit I have lost a time or two to him, I've never been a sore looser like he has, and none of our contests of power have taken place around Gwyn, she didn't particularly like our squabbles and battles, saying they were too aggressive and that we were really out to get each other at times.

And it felt like it.

For some strange reason, even after I found out from Gwyn that Aaron had discovered my past with the help of Vincent Vilmos, he still seems to hold a grudge. I willingly place it to the fact of who I am, but that doesn't seem to be it. For another reason entirely did his hatred seemed to be focused on me. Another reason entirely that escalated whenever Gwyn came up in conversation or if she was near. Aaron did not like me around his best friend… or was it more then that to him?

"How much longer is it going to be?" Aaron whined as we passed through the center of town, still heading north a bit to get to the gym on the west side.

"Aaron, why do you hate me?" I heard a stuttered sound from him and he looked at me in surprise before he shrugged his hands behind his head and looked away from me. "Have I done something to offend you?"

"Maybe…" his eyes looked down to his feet, a depressed look on his face overtook him from the arrogant and cocky one I normally see him wear, even if Gwyn has told me otherwise that he was normally very "sweet and gentle".

"Is there anyway I can fix that then? Gwyn does not like it when we fight. It would put her mind at ease to know that we have at least a mutual rival like friendship." Aaron only huffed at me.

"The only way I would be happy is if you left, and especially if you left Gwyn alone." He flared his nostrils and glared. "I don't like you around her. When you're around, she doesn't even bat me an eye anymore! I'm her best friend! Not you!"

I took a slight step back at this. So Aaron's anger was all driven at me for spending time with Gwyn? She paid more attention to me? No… she doesn't… she gives us both just as much time, only more when we need it, like when she was trying to pull me out of my slump where I was on my own and stealing…

Wait… the wheels in my head started to turn, his anger was entirely anger, it was jealousy. He was jealous of the time I spent with Gwyn, his best friend that he's always had to himself, the girl he grew up with, and the girl he must have apparently grown feelings for, if my hunch is right.

"You're angry at me because you're jealous." I watched his body stiffen at my response. "You have feelings for Gwyn and because of this it's been ruining the friendship you have with her because of our fights and the fights you have between each other."

Aaron let out a shaky sigh and his eyes still glared up at me. "It's not like you don't have feelings for her either."

I was taken aback by that.

"Don't tell me you never noticed?" Aaron huffed angrily before he roughly ripped his hand out o my frozen hands. "I remember what I saw at the Burnt Tower, I saw how you pulled her over yourself when we fell. And don't think I didn't see you over at the lighthouse, I saw what happened there too when you shoved her into your chest when you fell!"

"Aaron, I was only trying to keep her safe! What you saw was defensive thinking and rushed actions to protect her, nothing short of what you would have done if you were in my place."

"I don't care!" He came up to me and poked me in the center of my chest while his nose was right before mine, I could feel the heat from his breath, he was like an inferno to the skin from his anger. "Stay. Away. From. Gwyn!"

A large explosion suddenly could be heard and seen from off in the distance. It startled both Aaron and I and we turned to see where it was coming from. Inside the Cianwood City gym, from its side corner wall, was a large amount of flames that just continued to come out of the building without remorse. The flames just seemed to grow and grow!

I took one look over at Aaron and he did the same back. There was now doubt it was her. Without a word spoken between us, we shoved our feet off the ground and raced toward the gym with Gwyn in mind, if she was in trouble, upset or in danger; we would put aside our differences and prides to help her.

It just shows how much we care for her, care for her… even more then a friend should…

Violet's Point of View:

Far off in the mountainous hills of the most northern areas of the region for Jhoto were quite harsh. The chilling blizzard winds were howling outside of the cave I dwelled within to keep warm with my five pokemon who couldn't exactly stand the cold, the last of my team that could, I asked to search for any signs of Team Rocket. Her eye sight and abilities are incredibly increased in these kinds of conditions. She didn't mind going off, so long as I was with the others, safe and warm. My jacket that had once been Alex's (that I'd never returned to him), I treasured with all care now as I was wrapped up in it with Amber and Chalcedony feeding off the warmth as well. Beyond them and wrapped around me were Zircon, Ruby and Amethyst. With us all huddled together, we were able to stay warm in this cold area. It sucked to be out here, but until Team Rocket, Rose and Giovanni were dealt with, we had to stay out here.

A sudden intense feeling came over us and it made my eyes widened from the drowsiness I felt as I was just about to fall asleep. The others were all out of it, all but my longest team member and younger sister Amethyst. She blinked her eyes and I felt the warmth from her come on stronger, she could sense it too.

"I know girl, she's getting stronger isn't she?" My fire type blew out some white fire that looked like it nearly drooled out of her mouth, like lava. Amethyst could feel the power, and so could I.

"Rhu…" I could feel her muscles twitching and I couldn't help but lightly chuckle.

"Not yet Amethyst, not yet." I raised a hand from my lap and smoothed my fingers along her boney jaw. "She's not ready yet, she still needs to be stronger, but she'll get there soon." I looked out of the cave toward the raging storm and watched it swirl and violently blow past us and all this land. It was like watching a raging blizzard attack from my own pokemon, it made desire and dream to battle her with some of those very attacks when one day she will be at the point where we can battle, and I know she'll stand a chance and give me a good run for my money.

"Soon girl, soon we can face her." Amethyst lowered her head down onto the side of my neck to try and go back to sleep. "Soon… Gwyn will be ready to face us, but there are still trials ahead, along with many battles she needs to prove her strength in, not to mention…"

Her own strength and her desire to push past all hardships to do what must be done…

Gwyn's Point of View:

The battle was intense; fire was everywhere on Chuck's side of the field. He jumped out of the way as flaming pieces of the building actually came down from the fire power of my evolving pokemon. Speaking of my fire misfit, I looked back over to her large form. The light died off her and she finally cut off the fire that was practically drooling out of her mouth. I'd already noted her new height and size, length and width, but now I could see her really. Her fur was still smothered out, but a lot of it seemed to spike and stand up at the end of the longer bits of blue fur on her haunch. I could see her large mouth now; it wouldn't surprise me if my entire head could fit in there. The flame pours on her back had now moved in the shape of a mane that wrapped around her shoulders and the back of her neck, but not below her chin on or the front of her neck. Her eyes were still that dark neon red color and she grinned at the destruction that she caused.

I sighed. "Of course, once you evolved you'd be even more of a handful." I couldn't deny that Cynder was a wild child, but now it would be even harder to keep her in control, I just hope she still values me enough as a friend to listen to me…

Chuck could only gape at the damage that Cynder had made; she'd taken out the entire corner and part of the sides of his gym, not to mention that the fire was still going on and about. He looked over in the corner and rushed over to check on his pokemon while I turned my pokedex to Cynder to see what she now was.

Typhlosion, the volcano pokemon and the evolved form of quilava. If its rage peaks, it becomes so hot that anything that touches it will instantly go up in flames. It has a secret, devastating move. It rubes its blazing fur together to cause huge explosions. There are no known typhlosion nests in this region.

So this is what its like to have a powerhouse pokemon I guess… my thoughts were quiet as I glanced over and looked at everything, taking in the new evolution of my starting pokemon. While it does make me a little nervous, I think I can handle it, I mean, Cynder and I are best friends, she and I trust one another… yeah, I can handle this! I don't even know why I'm worrying!

"Nice job Cynder!" My bulky fire misfit turned to glance at me with a grin on her face, but even so, and even with her new evolution, she was tired, I could tell. She used a lot of fire and energy trying take out that primeape. "Why don't you come back and rest girl? Shocker can handle the last pokemon, and I don't think that primeape wants another tango with you." She grinned, and while I could tell she was upset to leave the battlefield, she nodded and slowly walked her way over to me. It was strange to see how she towered over me. Shocker then moved around me and he made his way out onto the field while we watched Chuck finally come out of the corner with a pokeball in hand.

"Just hang on a second girly; I gotta put out this fire." I nodded to his order and stayed in place with my pokemon while I watched him put away a pokeball and then pulled out another. When he released the pokemon, I could instantly tell it was a water type because of its dark blue color. I couldn't see a mouth on it, but it had a serious set of eyes. It had a large body with a strong build of muscles and muscular arms while its legs with not all that buffed out. A large swirl of black and white was on its stomach and white gloves were on its hands.

"What is that…?" I pulled out my pokedex to see what we were looking at here. Poliwrath, the tadpole pokemon and the evolved form of poliwhirl with a water stone. This strong and skilled swimmer is even capable of crossing the longest seas just by kicking. Although it's an energetic, skilled swimmer that uses all of its muscles, it lives on dry land. There are no known poliwrath nests in this region.

"So it is a water type, it's a good thing I pulled you out then Cynder." I looked over at my fire type as she lay down on the spot next to me. I giggled lightly and lowered myself so I hovered over my bent legs and smothered out the fur atop of her head and neck. "Get some rest Cynder, we'll celebrate tonight and then tomorrow or sometime soon, we'll battle Jasmine. Her pokemon are all steel types, so you're going to be the only one who would really stand a chance against her." My fire misfit grinned at that and laid her head back down. I pulled out her pokeball and returned her so she could rest while Shocker and I wrapped this up.

Chuck seemed to be done with putting out the fire and leaving its blackened mess to clean up later while his water pokemon leapt from where it stood next to him to on the field, leaving a large crushing imprint from the impact of the landing. Shocker hadn't seemed bothered by this in the slightest and sparked off his cheeks, letting the man and his pokemon know that he was ready and waiting to battle.

"So we're both down to one pokemon now, eh?" Chuck grinned. "Now this is what the battles all about! You may have a type advantage, but that doesn't mean much! It's still anyone's battle!"

"Then let's find out who the winner is already!" I threw my hand out before me, gestured at Shocker. "Let's go! Start off with shock wave!" Shocker nodded and a disk of electricity appeared over his paw. Once it got to a certain size, he tossed it at the poliwrath. The large pokemon didn't have enough time to move from the zooming attack and suddenly it hit it head on. It wobbled back a bit on its feet and Chuck gritted his teeth when he realized we were faster then he though. The poliwrath though quickly got back up to its feet, the only damage to its face.

"Use hypnosis Poliwrath!" Chuck called out to his pokemon and the enemy's eyes glowed red while Shocker looked away from him. "Now head in for the kill!"

I momentarily froze at the statement, the word… I can't even speak it; it temporarily froze me and left Shocker to defend himself while the largely muscular pokemon rushed in and crushed Shocker's face with its fists. Shocker was thrown back right past me and into the wall.

"Shocker!" I turned on my heels, released from my fears and worried over my pokemon. Shocker slowly got to his feet and glared down at his attacker.

"Flaa!" he cried out. He looked at me. "Flaa flaafy flaa!"

"Sorry! I promise it won't happen again Shocker!" He nodded and looked back out onto the field. While he didn't say it out loud, he was worried about my freezing up. My pokemon knew of my fear of death and anything related to it, they knew to be patient with me about it, but on the battlefield, I can't let that happen. "The phrase just startled me…"

Shocker let it pass and I saw Chuck giving us a weird look on the other side of the battlefield. I shook my head and glanced back at my pokemon that was ready to go and bellowed an order, "use thunder!"

Shocker cried out and from his body, large sparks appeared and danced around him before his ears sparked to the point where they almost imploded with electricity and fired at the poliwrath. The pokemon blocked its face this time around, but it made no difference when it came to the attack hitting it head on. Apparently Shocker was making up for that punch to the face earlier and was hitting it off extra hard.

"Come on Poliwrath! You can get through this!" Chuck encouraged his pokemon and as the lightning wore off, his pokemon emerged, still standing and while it'd taken damage, it was ready to still fight. "Now use focus punch once more!" The pokemon raced over at my electric type and its fist glowed as the first ran forward, ready to take out another part of my electric pokemon's face.

"Shocker!" I cried out, but it seemed like what I saw was useless as Shocker prepared to take the hit. "Shocker!"

I don't know if it had anything to do with my yelling, but all of a sudden, Shocker's hand glowed just like the poliwrath's and their fists collided and both pokemon were pushed back from one another. Shocker panted heavily as the glow faded from his fist and both Chuck and I gaped, myself in wonder while his was in horror.

"That pokemon…!" Chuck couldn't even finish his sentence.

"…you learned a move in the middle of a battle? Just from watching your opponent?" Shocker only grinned out on the field, even with his heavy panting. His fists both glowed again while his body also sparked, the fist this time was covered in electricity rather then white light.

"First a focus punch, now a thunder punch?" I mumbled to myself as I watched the scene unfold before I realized that he was waiting on my order. "Hit him hard Shocker! Thunder punch!" My flaaffy grinned and pushed his feet off the ground to get him closer to the pokemon that was waiting was still recovering from the sudden collision of focus punches.

"Don't let that pokemon stop you Poliwrath! Counter it with dynamic punch!" I saw the fists glowing from the other pokemon, though these ones were a little different; having a bit of a pinkish hue to them, there was something off about these punches…

The two pokemon collided and started throwing punches at each other. Most of the time the fists would collide, others the fist would hit. Shocker got one in the poliwrath's gut, and the water type got one back at Shocker's face again. The two of them kept at it until the force of their attacks pushed them back from each other. I saw the sparks that were all over the skin of the water type on the other side of the field. It looked to be in pain. Shocker fared no better with him wobbling on his feet.

"I knew there was something wrong with the punch! It causes confusion!" I cursed (well not so much since I don't curse really) at myself and watched the two try to get ready for another round of punches. "I should have known…" I turned to my pokemon and tried to give him a helpful cheer. "I know you can do this Shocker! I believe in you! Now let's go with another thunder punch!"

Shocker wobbled a bit more on his feet before he finally got a good footing and raced back at the water pokemon again. His fist turned yellow with sparks all around it and while he couldn't get the best speed for the attack because of his confusion, he still kept going for it.

"Go Shocker!"

It was those last words that must have invoked something within my electric pokemon from the way his entire body became engulfed with sparks of energy before it turned to white energy and engulfed him. I gasped as my electric type grew in size and I saw all of his wool vanish off his body, now it was only a smooth coat of thin fur or skin below. He grew to almost my size and punched the poliwrath right in the gut as his size concluded. The white light faded from his body just as the poliwrath was shoved back with incredible force into the wall behind Chuck.

Shocker's neck now was really long, adding to some of his height now that was about the same height as mine. His arms were a bit stubby, but not to the point where he couldn't throw a good punch, as showed a few moments prior. His body was now a sleek neon yellow color with a white underbelly. On his forehead was a red pendant of some sorts that seemed to be in his skull but sticking out of his skin while on the end of his tail, his small orb there was now red, the same color as his pendant. He grinned as he breathed heavily and looked to his opponent.

The poliwrath wasn't moving.

Chuck hurried behind where he stood and to his fallen pokemon. I saw him sit up the fighting beast of his and I watched its eyes open. I visibly saw Chuck sigh in relief and throw a thumbs up at me, allowing me to release a breath I'd been holding. I'd never forgive myself if I forced one of my own pokemon to take the life or another, or if I did that myself.

Chuck returned his pokemon and I returned Shocker as well because of how tired he was, but not before a good hug, congratulating him on his evolution and kiss to his cheek, oh, and seeing what he was now for a breed of pokemon. Ampharos, the light pokemon and the evolved form of flaaffy. The tail's tip shines brightly and can be seen from far away. It acts as a beacon for lost people and has been treasured since ancient times. There are no known ampharos nests in the region.

Two evolutions in one day… a new pokemon to add to my team, even if he doesn't like fighting… even another gym badge and a promise to fight the next gym leader soon… wow…

"Well girly, or should I say Gwyn?" Chuck merely laughed as he made his way over to me and my pokemon. "You certainly held me by the ropes today and showed me an amazing battle! Even better then that last two that beat me!"

"You must be talking about Aaron and Tristan," I commented with a lazy eevee on my shoulders. "They're both my friends and agreed to battle you first because we agreed to help Jasmine back in Olivine with getting some medicine for Ampy, the ampharos in the lighthouse."

"Really? Well why didn't you say so?" Chuck quickly reached into his pocket and pulled out the badge I was waiting to get here in the city. It was just like the one Tristan had showed me in his own case. The rustic brown color of the closed fist was outlined with a silver edge to the badge. Chuck placed it in my hand and then turned me around toward the exit of the gym.

"As much as I'd love to talk more, I realize that pokemon really needs that medicine." He kept pushing me until I started to walk on my own and keep pace with him. "So go back to Olivine and help them out and maybe we can have a rematch in the future or something?"

"I can agree to that." He stopped over at the door and I stepped outside. "Thanks for the battle and the badge. I'll be sure to stop by again when I can."

"You better girly, I mean, Gwyn." Chuck grinned and looked off behind me. "And here seems to be your group of friends, I'll see you later." He turned his back on me while mumbling to himself. "Now I just gotta get started on the gym repairs, or should I leave it?"

I couldn't help but chuckle at that before I turned to face the guys. Both of them panted as they came to a halt before me. I grabbed both their hands and led them away from the gym while they were tired enough not to complain and just followed after.

"You got the medicine, right Aaron?" I turned to glance at my best friend and he pulled out a small bottle from his pocket. I took it from him and bagged it in my side bag. "Awesome, now we gotta get going! The boat should leave in just a short bit!" I picked up my pace to run and the boys were practically dragging behind me. I only rolled my eyes and released their hands, taking off without them until they shouted and tried to keep up.

Witch's Note:

Yahoo! Another chapter done and two more pokemon of Gwyn's evolved! Plus she has a new one, sadly one who won't fight and most likely will not stay on her team but rather stay with her mother in the future. Poor Shelly, why do the bad guys always have to be so mean, especially to rare and nice pokemon?

Oh I can't wait, we're almost half way! We will be after the next two chapters since we have a total of only twenty-nine chapters in this story compared to thirty-one. It's so exciting!

So like all of you know, I love how you send in Questions and Reviews, so please don't forget to send me any! I can't fill out my 'Q's & A's' page without them!

Love you all and see you next week!
