Chapter 13

"And finally, congratulations to all you graduating seniors," Principal Schmoke announced over the intercom. The dismissal bell rang but he still continued to talk. "We here at Amigos hope you all go on to do big things after your time here."

"Longest school year ever!" Alex announced as he and Juanita walked out of class. They started to head over to the high school to meet with the rest of the band.

"Yeah it was long," Juanita agreed. "But it was the best year of my life."

"OH yeah? Well I hope I had a part in that," Alex grinned as he put his arm around her.

"You are the reason it was great," Juanita said. "You and Lily coming back into my life."

"So, did you uhh decide on the summer plans yet?" Alex asked.

"I'm going to go for the first month of summer," Juanita announced. "Then, I'm coming home to help my parents with Prescott and see you."

"Well I think that's the best of both worlds," Alex smiled. "I'm happy for you."

"I'm happy too," Juanita smiled, kissing Alex's cheek as they entered the high school. They spotted Rosalina by her locker, cleaning her stuff out for the last time. "There's the graduate."

"Hey Miss UCLA, we heard about the decision," Alex said as they approached Rosalina. Alex pulled her into a huge hug, with Juanita doing the same after. "We're really happy for you, even if you're leaving me here alone with lover boy."

"Yeah I don't want to think about that yet," Rosalina sighed. "But thank you, I'm happy this is all finally over."

"What? You're not going to miss Amigos?!" Juanita asked sarcastically.

"Oh I will, more than you will ever know," Rosalina slightly smiled, looking around the hallway. She saw the Supertastic Six making their way towards them. The group was laughing their heads off and everyone looked as happy as they could be about the last day of school.

"Why the long face, Tai?" Thomas asked as they approached them. "You're getting out of this place finally."

"Just thinking," Rosalina faked a smile, shutting her locker. "You guys seem pumped for summer."

"Well why wouldn't we be?" David asked. "No school and a summer on tour with the coolest girls ever."

"It couldn't get any better than this!" Qaasim smiled. Cooper and Patty arrived next.

"You have to make it through the rest of the tasks from the girls first," Cooper told them, smiling over at Rosalina.

"And I'm sure graduation tomorrow will require some work, right Rosalina?" Patty asked, glancing over at Rosalina, who was caught in a daydream. She was watching Luke and Kristina walking down the hall toward them. They had their arms around each other and could barely keep their hands apart. "Rosalina?"

"Huh? Oh uh yeah! Kris said she made a list for them but it's mostly just setting up chairs." Rosalina said, snapping out of her dreamlike trance.

"Ready to hit the pool?" Luke asked everyone. The gang was headed over to Kristina's for the last day of school pool party. The group all smiled and nodded.

"Here's your list boy," Kristina handed them a folder with lists in them. "And congrats to you BFF. How does it feel to be officially done with this place?"

"Weird," Rosalina declared with a nervous laugh. "But I'm not done until my valedictorian speech tomorrow. You guys are all going to be there, right?"

"None of them would miss it for the world," Nat said as he snuck up behind his girlfriend, kissing her cheek. "Let's celebrate and hit the pool now, eh?"

"Hell yeah!" The gang cheered and headed to Kristina's house.

Later…

"Really Rosalina? School is over!" Kristina exclaimed as she sat down in the lawn chair next to Rosalina, who was typing on her laptop.

"I need to finish my speech for tomorrow," Rosalina sighed. "This is so hard to write."

"Well then take a break and enjoy the first day of summer with your best friends!" Kristina grabbed the laptop and set it on the table between them. "Let's just lay here and watch our hot boyfriends in the pool."

"My boyfriend's not even in the pool," Rosalina stated, finding Nat on the patio talking to Cooper and Patty. The rest of the boys were playing a game of basketball in the pool while the State of Grace girls were relaxing on floats in the pool.

"Then watch Luke, I'll share for now," Kristina said as she stared at her boyfriend's already tanned chest and defined six pack. "Man, he's so hot."

"Speaking of Luke, I never got any details about prom night," Rosalina mentioned. "Did it happen?"

"It did," Kristina blushed. "Several times actually."

"Shut up!" Rosalina exclaimed. "I didn't know you were such a hoe Kris."

"Oh please, do not even start!" Kristina laughed. "It was the best night of my life with the best guy ever."

"Yeah Nat's okay too I guess," Rosalina playfully shrugged as Nat jumped back into the pool to join the boys. The basketball game had stopped and everyone was just talking now. "What do you think they're all talking about?"

"Probably the same thing we are," Kristina laughed. "Sex."

"Okay so the invites are out, correct?" Nat asked in the pool.

"Yeah Kristina already crossed them off the list she gave us earlier." Thomas said.

"She separated all off the work so everyone's got jobs." David explained.

"And we'll hand them out later today, hopefully when Rosalina's not around." Qaasim said.

"How in the hell did you boys become in charge of Rosalina's surprise graduation party?" Luke asked with a laugh. "You're the most irresponsible boys ever."

"Because it's the perfect cover of course," Cooper grinned. "And I'm obviously supervising everything. But most of the orders come from Nat and Kristina anyway."

"So everything's ready to go then?" Nat asked. "Everyone's got their assignments and will be ready by the day of the party?"

"We're all ready," Patty smiled. "All you have to do is distract her that day, Nat."

"I think I can do that," Nat grinned over at Rosalina, who blew him a kiss.
