We hid behind the screen doors of the bakery and waited for our cue. Everyone had gathered together for this special occasion and it felt so nice to be surrounded by everyone I cared about again. Ryou, Norio and their baby boy were huddled in the corner; Kotomi was crouched behind a plant with little Fuko; Tomoyo and her fiancée were crouched by our side and then next to me there was Youhei. My wonderful Youhei. He was sat next to me with his goofy smile spread across his face. The Welcome Home party had been his idea and he was so excited about it. We heard a cab pull up outside followed by the sounds of Nagisa and Tomoya's voices.

"Okay, Ushio. You ready?" Youhei whispered.

Ushio nodded and then ran over to the light switches. Youhei had already placed a chair under them so she could reach. The doors opened and on came the lights.

"Surprise!" We all yelled together as we jumped out from our hiding places.

"Oh my gosh." Nagisa laughed. Her and Tomoya were taken aback slightly but they were both smiling eye to eye. Ushio climbed down from her chair and jumped straight into her daddy's arms. Tomoya held her tight as Nagisa placed a kiss on her head. They were such a beautiful family.

"This is so unexpected." Nagisa said.

"It was Uncle Youhei's idea." Ushio cheered.

"How sweet of him." Nagisa smiled.

After we had eaten the delicious spread Kotomi had made for us everyone gathered around as Tomoya connected his camera to the television to show us all their pictures.

"It's so clever." Nagisa said as she watched Tomoya at work.

"It's easy really." Tomoya said, still as modest as ever.

We all admired their pictures and laughed at the stories they told us. They were the kind of couple we all wanted to be.

"We should go away together." Youhei whispered in my ear.

The thought of going away with Youhei made me want to yell with joy but I had to contain myself.

"Where did you have in mind?" I whispered back.

"With you? Anywhere." He said.

Oh my god, I love him.

"How about we all go outside." Ryou suggested suddenly.

"Yeah, we can watch the sunset!" Ushio squealed.

Youhei took my hand and we all shuffled outside. The air was warm and the sky was a romantic shade of pink as the sun sunk lower and lower. As we all stood round in our semi circle watching the sun, I noticed the sound of a gentle melody fill the air. The garden gate opened then and in walked three young men dressed in white, each of them playing a beautiful instrument.

"Oh my gosh." I breathed.

Youhei guided me to the front of the garden and then let go of my hand. He smiled at me and then nodded at Ushio. Ushio jumped out of Tomoya's arms and ran to Youhei's side.

"Thank you, Ushio." He said as she handed him a little black box.

"Oh my gosh." I said again. I couldn't breath. Was this really happening?

Youhei knelt on one knee and took a deep breath. Everyone was watching us but I couldn't take me eyes off of him. Then he looked up and his eyes met with mine. My heart was beating so fast.

"Kyou, I've never been a go and get it kind of guy. I used to sit back and wait for things to come to me, but then a short while ago that all changed. It changed because of you. You made me realise exactly what I wanted in life and I couldn't wait this time. Kyou, you are the only person I have ever loved like this and a life with you would be the perfect life for me. I want to watch every sunset with you for the rest of our days. Starting with this one. So, Kyou Fujibayashi, would you make me the happiest man alive and agree to marry me?"

"Yes, yes! One hundred times yes!" I squealed. I didn't even need to think about it. Youhei was the only one for me.

"Seriously?" Youhei asked.

"Yes, you idiot." I laughed.

Youhei stood up and placed a beautiful diamond ring on my finger. I couldn't hold it in any longer. I leapt in to his arms and wrapped my legs around his waist.

"You make me the happiest I've ever been." I whispered in his ear as he held me.

Thank you everyone for sticking with me with this story. I know it has taken me while to keep it updated but I'm hoping to update it more regularly from now on. I do have an idea for a sequel to this story once I have finished it so keep an eye out for that too :)
