"When will you free me from this dreadful plaster cast?" Klaus asked Stefan as the other approached juggling a pair of coffee cups.

"You should keep it for another week, it's for the best." Stefan handed Klaus a cup. "The hospital doesn't want to be sued for ruining the hand of a famous artist."

"Caroline and I are trying to have a baby." Klaus lifted his hand. "This becomes awkward when I'm trying to make love to her properly."

Stefan closed his eyes rapidly. "That was very disturbing, what are you even doing?" He swiped the air with his hand. "You're sharing way too much."

"It becomes a hassle when I'm committed to pleasure Caroline and…"

"Stop!" Stefan turned his palm towards Klaus. "For the love of God, just stop."

Klaus turned energies to sip from the cup.

Stefan sighed. "But I'm happy that you and Caroline are trying to move forward into a blissful future." he added a big smile.

"We've been trying for a week now." Klaus grimaced a little. "Not that I don't love how it all brought us closer but I can feel that Caroline is becoming a bit anxious with the wait."

"That's normal." Stefan easily assured him. "It's something that she really wanted for a long time and now it's the wait that will weigh down on her, you need to make sure that she is calm and you have to be there for her more than ever. Anxiety is not good for a woman when she's trying to get pregnant."

"I just want her happy." Klaus calmly replied.

Stefan moved to have a better look at man sharing a bench with him outside of the hospital. "Do you want this baby as well? Or are you doing this only for Caroline?"

Klaus smiled. "I'm enamored with the idea of holding a tiny creature with blond hair and blue eyes."

"That's sweet Nik…" Stefan smiled while taking the coffee to his lips. "Just... I would recommend that you restrain from calling your baby a creature."

Klaus laughed leaning back on the bench. "It's a very bizarre notion of a family the one I have but Caroline makes me feel like nothing is impossible, you know? And I like the idea of having my own family where I only have myself to rely upon and where the weight of failing will belong merely to myself and not to those who were my vision of a family."

"Are you still not talking to Elijah?" Stefan quietly asked.

"He kept a picture of Caroline in her wedding dress next to his bed, I can't even abide what went through his mind every time he looked at that picture."

Stefan noticed how Klaus gave up on his coffee nauseated. "It wasn't the easiest thing to find out but I don't think that he was ever disrespectful towards Caroline."

"Do you realize that every time that he said that I was incapable of treating Caroline fairly or making her truly happy that he was going on in his mind that he was the one who could? That when I changed and started dressing like him I was merely being the mirrored image of him? I went to the events that he liked and I was fluent in all the same topics that he mastered... all I can think now is that little by little I simply became a copy of Elijah."

"And you were married to the woman he wanted so in a very twisted way it was almost as if he was with her. I get that and believe me, if Damon ever pulled something like that I would stop talking to him as well but then I would calm down and try to see his side."

"That's just because you are this infinite well of good." Klaus gave him a side look.

"Which is exactly why you're naming your son after me." Stefan smirked.

"Wouldn't you like that…" Klaus was sly in his smile.

"In a minute!" Bonnie yelled hurrying to the door but her easy smile faded when she was faced with Caroline standing on her doorstep. "Hey…"

Caroline pushed the sunglasses up to trap her long hair and shoved a letter against Bonnie's chest. "I'm jumping the cheerful greeting."

Bonnie stepped back so that a mad Caroline could strut inside of the house. "I see that you have my letter…"

"Kol called me this morning, he is as upset as I am." Caroline seemed to grunt harder when she realized that Bonnie was packing all of her belongings into boxes.

"You only noticed today that I haven't showed up for work in a week?" Bonnie folded the resignation letter carefully.

"I've been working at the loft so I haven't been to the office and Kol only told me about the letter today because he couldn't postpone it any longer."

Bonnie handed her the letter back. "It's official, I'm resigning from Power and I'm moving to France with Damon."

"That's the most idiotic sentence that has ever left your mouth Bonnie."

"I knew that you wouldn't be completely ok with this." Bonnie left the letter on top a closed box while she went back to packing. "But I'm not changing my mind."

"You can't do this." Caroline grabbed the letter. "This? This is running away from Kol and pretending that you are so in love with Damon that you're ready to move to another country just to prove it. This is Jamie Swanson all over again."

"Are you really bringing college back?" she asked against.

"You were dating that guy Jamie for two weeks when you decided to move out of the dorm and into his flat… which went really well." Caroline folded her arms with a stance.

Bonnie looked up unhappy. "I liked him a lot, or at least I thought that I did at the time."

"You moved in with him just to prove me that he was the one."

"And he was…" Bonnie's voice dropped. "For a month."

"You are always so hasty with your decisions and then you stubbornly stay by them just to prove that you're right." Caroline unfolded her arms in a soft plea. "Please reconsider this, I know that I promised not to take sides but now you're taking things to an extreme."

Bonnie silently sealed another box.

"Bonnie!" Caroline urged her for a counteraction.

"I'm leaving in a few days, as soon as Damon finds a house for us to live." she simply said.

"I'm not letting you go." Caroline quickly tore the letter into tiny little pieces and she pursed her lips destroying the last few pieces into smaller bits.

"That's very mature of you." Bonnie stood up grabbing another box to fill.

"I'm immature? I'm the one who stayed and fought for a marriage that became a suffocating nightmare but I still fought for it, because every time I looked at Klaus I was reminded of how much I loved him. He would stand across the room and I would feel him with my entire body, the sound of his voice still leaves me dizzy after all of these years and even through the hard times and fights I still couldn't imagine myself with anyone else. He is the love of my life and my commitment to this relationship paid off in the end. I've spent a blissful week waking up in his arms and we are planning for a baby so please tell me that you haven't made the same exact plans with Kol, that his voice has no practical effect on you or that you don't miss him when you are lying next to Damon in bed."

Bonnie interrupted Caroline's excited speech with a stunned look at her friend. "You're planning a baby with Klaus?"

Caroline gave her a small smile. "Yes…"

"You just got back with him and he's not even recovered yet, not to mention that he never wanted this before…"

As certain as the sun going up Caroline expected the reaction from Bonnie and with a raised chin she pushed her handbag under her armpit. "I was just trying to illustrate how you shouldn't be a coward and fight for what you want instead. You still love Kol and you shouldn't walk away from that, real love strikes you only once, the rest are only tiny little sparks that will only make you remember how great that one love was." she turned her back on Bonnie determined.

Bonnie kept her eyes on the front door as Caroline slammed it shut.

2012

He came waltzing inside of her office with a complaining grunt, Bonnie smiled already knowing how he would slump on the chair in front of her desk with a big dramatic sigh. "Was that bad?" she sweetly asked him.

Kol held his hands in front of him. "I'm not good at this parenting thing, Elijah better return very quickly to handle Rebekah's problems because I'm not good at this."

Bonnie chuckled pushing her chair back, she went around the desk to easily sit across his lap, she took his sunglasses and smiled at him. "What did the Dean want?"

"To expel her! Who gets expelled from college? I understood high school and why they decided to send her home permanently after she burned a series of dolls as a statement of rebellion against society but this? I don't get it." he sighed resting the back of his head against the chair defeated.

"She was working on a thesis about teachers who benefit students from rich families over others, I found it genius when you told me about it but I don't think that the faculty could afford to let her keep writing it." Bonnie leisurely traced his chin with her finger.

"Of all weeks why did Elijah have to go to Japan with Nik?"

"Kol… the bad boy reckless routine is becoming outdated, Rebekah is acting out because Elijah and Klaus are hardly home while you're spending all of your time with your girlfriend. It's normal when she tries to get everyone's attention but someone should start listening."

He smiled enjoying the woman sitting on his lap. "I have such a good girlfriend."

Bonnie liked that and leaned over to kiss him, she searched for his amazing hair decided on giving it a new style and her small body was cradled in perfection against his chest. "Caroline will be upset if she comes in to find us getting it on." she said not wanting to forfeit on the chance to kiss him again before that happened.

He pulled her closer for a deeper kiss that sinfully left her dizzy.

Once they broke the kiss he tilted his head to plant a single kiss on the crook of her neck. "She's our biggest fan." he reminded Bonnie with a smile.

"I love you." she said running her fingers through his wild hair.

And like all the other times when she put herself out there Kol retracted in fear and as usual was incapable of saying the words that she needed to hear from him. "You know how deeply I feel for you Bonnie and how much you mean to me."

"But I would like to listen to it out loud at least once, it would mean a lot to me Kol."

He sighed and she responded too quickly and abruptly.

Bonnie stood up fast and placed a big amount of space between them.

"I would love to carry on with this idyllic moment but I fear that Caroline will be grumpy since Nik has been gone on another mysterious trip for days, so I shouldn't push our luck and have her against us."

It was astonishing how much he conveyed easiness when she knew that he was upset. "Sure…" she simply replied.

"I just came from a dreading meeting with Rebekah's teachers where I was expected to act like a father when I'm merely a year older than she is so I'm done being accountable for today." he left her office without looking back.

Bonnie stared at her phone, it wasn't enough that she was alone in the house when Damon was already in France, no, she also had to deal with unwanted flashbacks of a past that she was desperately trying to put behind her.

She startled when her phone buzzed with a new call and she had a shaking voice when she took the call. "Hey Damon…"

"I found the perfect house for us."

Damon sounded so elated that she closed her eyes heavily. "You have? That's good." she tried being sweet to him.

"It's right in the heart of Paris and next to a magic little café that has those amazing little cakes that you love so much."

She smiled fondling with a piece of tape. "When can I move?"

It was meant to be a silly joke of some sorts but he was taking her very serious, hadn't he gone all the way to France to get them a house as it was.

"I just signed the contract that will provide me with a lot of money to fill that mantel with fire that will warm our cold nights in Paris, they will be spent next to the fireplace having sex by the way."

She closed another box with a shake of her head. "It's always reassuring to know how much you want me there for my body."

"Don't be silly Bonnie, I love you and I miss you already so my mind is working overtime with all the things that I want to do with you once you arrive. I admit that making love by the fire is a priority but it will be for you as well once you see how awesome that rustic mantel is."

Bonnie laughed over his excitement about a genuine fireplace and just like that she was wrapped up in everything that Damon easily brought to her life, if she truly let him in, he was the right choice for her.

Barbara approached Katherine with a big bouquet of pink roses in her hands. "They delivered another one."

Katherine smiled enchanted. "Are they for me?"

Barbara crooked her neck enough to give Katherine a serious look. "Are you enjoying the way I feel miserable because no man will ever send me 24 roses every day?"

"A rose for each hour that he misses me." Katherine's smile was impish while taking the little card attached to the flowers.

"How good are you in bed? Because…" Barbara bluntly lifted an eyebrow.

"We haven't even kissed yet." she proudly answered.

"Then that is one suave man." the girl with long dark hair mused.

"Don't you have tables to prepare for tonight?" Katherine sent Barbara away with a motion of her hand.

"I'm going…" she replied with a huff.

Katherine circled her arms around the beautiful flowers with a grin, she glided her phone closer and dialed his number before picking it up from the counter.

"You've mentioned once how much you enjoy pink roses." Elijah quickly answered her call.

Katherine laughed with natural amusement. "I only said it because I was counting that the hard task would make you give up."

Elijah was in his office and he turned to the window to fully admire the beautiful day outside. "I appreciate impossible goals, they keep my mind in constant development."

"You already thanked me for letting you stay at my house during that one night, the flowers every day might be interpreted differently if you carry on sending them." she said waywardly while smelling the sweet fragrance from the roses.

"My reproachable behavior that night was inexcusable, you were very kind to help me therefore I am only being nice in return." he said with a small smile.

She could tell that Elijah was having a bad time but his voice had changed throughout the week that they spent talking on the phone. "I have nothing but a big smile to show you." she rested the flowers on the counter. "Is there any chance I might reserve you a table for tonight?" she could hardly believe how hopeful she was that his answer was positive.

"I will have to call you later with an answer." Elijah was forced to end the call due to the man arriving to his office.

Klaus stepped inside uninterested that there was a call happening and that Elijah looked about to faint, he actually found the image sort of comical and took pride in the bruises still showing across Elijah's face.

"Are you concealing a gun under all that smug attire?" Elijah greeted him with a low voice.

"Are you hiding a guilty cape? Because your regret is not that showing today." Klaus eyed him coldly.

"What am I exactly being accused of?" Elijah asked, there was a small sigh followed by the motion of placing his hands inside of the pockets of his suit pants.

"Thou shalt not desire thy neighbor's wife." Klaus suggested.

"My only crime was not being able to stop the growth of my feelings for Caroline."

Klaus tensed his jaw, his entire body was a stiff second away from unleashing a new wave of fury that would leave Elijah mending over deeper bruises and injuries.

It didn't go unnoticed by Elijah who prepared himself for a nasty fight. "I'm not going to defend myself from something that was utterly out of my control but the fact that I fell in love with your wife has never come between us the way that you're so convinced it did. I haven't forced you to do any of the things that you accuse me of. You wanted the fame and the parties and everything that came along with it, you might have protested often but you were always the first one to introduce yourself as the great artist Niklaus Mikaelson, even before we would cross the front gate you would make sure that everyone knew who you were. Surely the parties were dull and repetitive but having a flock of young girls praising your artistic qualities made everything tolerable."

"It's a common trace of your personality to shove shameful dust from your expensive suits Elijah."

He bitterly chuckled. "I saw an opening and decided to take proper profit from your unquestionable gift but the larger than life persona that you became was all on you Niklaus."

"I was happy being who I was before you exploited me."

"How old are you Niklaus? Indisputably not 14 years old when you were unable to tell grey from black." Elijah snapped exhausted. "The money was pouring in but it was going out as fast. I made you sign that contract so that you wouldn't spend it all in futile unnecessary ways. The friends that you've made were not imposed on you, Max and his pack of despicable imbeciles were handpicked by yourself and the parties that you've attended with them were the opposite of my boring business soirées."

Klaus lowered his gaze a little, as he often did when the accusation was striking a vital point.

Elijah ran his hand through his hair weary. "I fell in love with the wrong woman and I've wished for every day to have that wrongful love erased from my heart but when push comes to shove you were the one who decided that her love wasn't enough and that having many others worshipping you was far more important than your wife and your family."

"I know that I'm not entirely innocent in all of this, I'm blessed that she still wants to have anything to do with me when I was so indifferent towards her in the past." Klaus stated honestly.

"You've taken her for granted and I've hated you for it, for not seeing how incredible she was in all of her natural joy and immense love that she felt for you. For you!" Elijah reinforced.

"It still didn't give you the right to do what you did." Klaus shot back in strain.

"What have I done exactly? I haven't spent more than one minute alone in a room with her, I haven't looked her in the eyes more than a few required seconds, I haven't sat next to her on a table or engaged in any conversations with her, I have not acted on any of my feelings or attempted to have even a rewarding friendship with her, I have done nothing but avoid any direct contact with Caroline over the years. Would you have done the same if the situation was reversed?"

Klaus wasn't exactly expecting the inquiry and chose to remain silent.

"Hadn't you spend all that time consumed by ludicrous jealousy of Kol and drinking so much and you would have noticed how I chose to stay away from my own home as much as I could just so I didn't start anything that I didn't want to because believe me, the way that you pushed her away would have been the right cue to step in and comfort her during all the painful times I've seen Caroline crying."

"The ever charismatic and noble Elijah." Klaus hissed before a half-smile that was everything but sincere.

"I would beg you to have some restrain over your vile tongue but I know better…" Elijah sadly shook his head. "While all of you so callously accuse me of how this family has crumbled apart perhaps you could all take the time to acknowledge that I lost my parents as well and I was left in charge of two brothers and a sister, and a family fortune that I had no notion of how to handle properly until I was forced to do so. I am not that much older than you are Niklaus but I was assumed to take a leadership place that I have not asked for, I was the parent so that you could all be the children who had everything."

"And while you were consumed in hedonism did you take the time to see how you always made me feel like I was not ever quite good enough?" Klaus confronted him.

"I was far too busy wanting what was best for you." Elijah finally said in a final matter.

"We've all looked up to you as a father because you were the only parent any of us knew, you had many memories of them, I have a few that I rather not have from father but Kol and Rebekah can't even remember how mother or father looked like. I'm awfully sorry that we became such a hard burden for you to handle in the end." Klaus turned his back on Elijah.

The later opened his mouth but recoiled at the last second, he lowered his head overtaken by the weight of his confrontation with Klaus, it wasn't a question of taking charge of the family that had him so tired, it was the detail that he was far from being perfect, he was human and paved with flaws and the ability of getting hurt as well.

"I'm so happy that you've decided to return that I haven't talked about anything else at home, my new wife is starting to complain about it." The old man laughed.

"I've always felt comfortable in the University, it's a treat to be constantly surrounded by bright minds and talent." Klaus smiled naturally at the Dean.

"The years you spent teaching here were the golden years of the University and I am expecting great things from you again."

"No pressure then…" Klaus squinted.

The other laughed. "Do I venture to tell you that the attending list for your first lecture has doubled as soon as your name was announced? Everyone wants to ask the legend how to become extremely wealthy and famous."

"That's an easy one, just paint about everything that's wrong with yourself and put it on sale, every elite art collector loves a troubled soul." Klaus confessed disheartened.

"The constant conflict that you live in and that you portrait so well on a canvas is the reason why so many are fascinated with your work."

"Painting is a metaphor for control really, it's a way to achieve ones vision through sheer force or will."

The Dean closed his eyes worried. "Those classes will be over packed again. I need to set a limit of students right away or otherwise this will be chaotic." he started walking away anticipating the crowded auditorium.

Klaus found the image of the old man walking down the hallway speaking to himself funny and turned away to the library, while he was choosing a few books he noticed a girl constantly looking at him.

After a few hesitations she stood up and walked unwavering to him. "Do I know you?" she bluntly asked him.

"No." he simply replied retrieving another book that he needed.

The girl twirled a long red-haired braid around her fingers. "I know your face from somewhere."

"I'm in a bit of a hurry sweetheart so I can't carry on with the cheesy flirt." he cut her off coldly.

She gasped loudly. "Are you…" she pointed at him like his name was about to be uttered with fireworks.

"Happily married, thank you." he smiled with dashing happy dimples and faced away from her taking one more book before he left.

The girl went back to her table frantically texting her friends about the news, apparently the rumors were true and they were going to have a notorious teacher.

Caroline interrupted her work to look at the door, the little bump that was required to open it gave him away and Klaus closed the door with his back.

"I need to do something about that lock." he grumbled while dropping the huge pile of books that he was carrying on the nearest surface that he found.

"You can't." Caroline said most serious as he neared the bed where she was sitting. "It's the little tell that all my lovers use to get away." she offered him a big smile after the small tease.

"And once again you find a positive note." he kept the grumble but sweetly kissed her.

"Do you have homework today?" she lowered her hand gently from his neck to his chest before he evilly pulled away from her.

"I don't want to make a fool of myself when I start my classes next month." he took his jacket off throwing it carelessly onto the small Puff seat that they had near the bed.

"History of art?" she recognized one of the books.

"And evolution of art during the glorious reign of Queen Elisabeth the I." he removed his shirt while getting ready for a shower.

"Uhh… porn." she purred.

He laughed and sneaked in another kiss before moving to the bathroom.

"You know, we are married so it's ok if you want to fully undress in front of me." she suggested keen on catching a full show.

"There's room for two in the shower." he shouted from under the running stream of water.

She sighed. "Stop tempting me, I just had a very long bath. I was so stressed when I arrived home today."

When he didn't answer she assumed that he wanted to carry on with the conversation later on and she went back to her hard work of coloring the sketches that she just made once she settled in their bed.

Caroline changed markers and happily filled with life dull models that she envisioned wearing her collection, she was already on the bottom ones when he came out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around his waist and shaping up his wet hair with random strokes of his hand.

"It wasn't a good day love?" he asked wanted to jump right back into their conversation.

"It suddenly took a very pleasing turn to the best." her eyes travelled from his dripping hair to the soaking necklace and to the magnificent chest exposed to her.

The illustration of Caroline surrounded by colorful markers and a bunch of papers would have been incredibly innocent and sweet if it wasn't for the look that she was giving him, not to mention that she was only wearing a tiny pair of panties and a skimpy tank top.

"But you were upset…" he sat next to her on the bed with genuine interest about her day.

"I did another test." she said with a big sulking tone. "Still nothing, no matter how many times I pee into one of those things, those stripes never change." she complained.

He smiled but he was careful not to cross her with his amusement. "This will take place Caroline, sooner or later you will be with child but planning every second until it happens will not rush it to concretization."

She scorned him with a nervous dither. "Planning?" she asked fretfully. "That's just so not me." she made sure that her fertility planner was well hidden under the pile of papers in front of her.

"You were mumbling college names in your sleep last night." he lessened his eyes a little.

"There's nothing wrong with planning a tad ahead." she said assertive.

He laughed and leaned over to kiss her. "I adore you and everything that makes you who you are."

She moaned silently once her lips were caught by his, she rested her hand on his chest sweetly lingering in a tiny battle of lips pressing each other.

"Will you still adore me if I turn out incapable of having children?" she slowly asked him as they paused the kiss, actually fearing his answer.

"Odds are that it's me and not you Caroline." he reminded her of the possibility.

She stroked his unshaven cheek. "Then we will adopt and we will fill this loft with children of all nations and languages, just like Brad and Angelina did."

He laughed with her easy enthusiasm. "It's only been one week Caroline, you're stressing over something that is supposed to be natural." he reminded her.

"You're right." she gave in with a nod.

Klaus kissed the side of her head with love as she went back to her messy papers, she was also making a list of the fabrics that she was going to use on her new Collection.

She started crossing the things that she was definitely not going to use, she was banning leather from this one and sticking to natural organic fabrics, she circled cotton and wool as she planned to showcase those two mainly.

Like always she easily got lost in her work and she was even distracted from Klaus who stayed glued to her back enthralled with her raw process of creation, when she bent her neck to the sides tired he easily moved his hand to ease her weariness and tension, he pressed that bone in the back of her neck making her instantly moan.

As soon as his big thumb did that again Caroline closed her eyes surrendering to the wonderful sensation, Klaus smiled moving his hand a little and started compressing her shoulder line, Caroline tilted her head to the side so he worked in all the heavy tension that she had built up in her upper body.

He wished that there were two available hands but he still did the best that he could, involuntarily Caroline moaned louder because he was releasing all of her strain with a knowing massage.

"You really need to relax sweetheart." he said in a low voice before kissing her shoulder.

She smiled reaching behind to stroke his hair. "I promise to take things slower…" she sighed turning her head enough to look at him. "Counting every second until it happens won't rush our baby."

He kissed her languorously and Caroline outlined his chest with lazy fingers, she covered every inch until she moved her hand to his back where she caressed his soft skin with more will.

Klaus prolonged the kiss enjoying the way that she responded to it and slowly pushed everything on the bed to the floor, Caroline smiled picking up on his deeds at once and straddled him enforcing the kiss on her own while messing his wet hair.

Though Caroline was passionate with her kiss she didn't focus on that for long and guided her lips to his neck that she savored with small teasing kisses, she beamed when he closed his eyes with a deep satisfied sigh and Caroline kept a sweet pattern of mischievous kisses that made his skin wrinkle.

It was so powerful the way that he shivered when she nudged the side of his neck with the tip of her tongue, taking her time she parted from his neck and gently bit her lip, his eyes were so blue that she could get lost staring into them for as long as she was allowed to.

His hands were resting at her waist and easily came up taking her tank top with them, Caroline smiled once the shirt was over her head and she shook her golden wavy locks straightening her messy hair, his hand was lost among her locks and he pulled her closer for a kiss that was his to set the pace.

Caroline pressed her naked chest against his and knotted her fingers with his hair that was heavenly a little longer now, she loved where this was headed and she kept him busy with continuous kisses.

His breath was changing with every deep kiss and the way that her body felt against his, so perfectly matched and puzzled, and he wanted her, he craved for her obviously the same way that she wanted him.

With a swift sway Klaus held her and moved to lay her on the bed, she was forced to part from his lips but her breath picked up too fast to handle without being rasping, he was already pulling her tiny panties down her legs and she was undoing the knot securing his towel with the same speed.

Klaus took her hands and pulled her to him so that she was sitting again on his lap with her legs on each side of him and it was stroking his face that she lowered her body to take him in, there was a shared gasp as she faultlessly welcomed all of him inside of her warmth.

From then on every time she moved he went deeper, pinning her to him by resting his hands on her waist, guiding her as she rode him a bit faster with every round, Caroline's lips brushed his with every move and she breathed along with him.

The shared husky breathing filled the loft and it was only replaced when Caroline dropped her head back and motioned her body back, the weight that she put into it was a clear sign of what she wanted and Klaus shifted their bodies a little so that he could thrust into her powerfully while she rested on her back.

Caroline was lost in a world of endless pleasure where he was the master vigorously thrusting into her, instead of keeping her legs around his waist, she supported herself by sinking her feet into the mattress and she opened up to him completely welcoming his rhythm and meeting it with her own moves.

Klaus didn't release her body until she wriggled under him with a shiver and then when her arms searched for him in need of a kiss he laid on top of her, after a loving kiss he picked up a slow motion that lusciously pulled a small whimper from her.

Caroline traced his back with gentle fingers and lost herself in their love, she rested a hand on the small of his back following his slow pushes and she tucked a knee on the side of his body moaning with every hit inside of her that propelled bliss to her entire body that only wanted him and no other, he took his time delivering her to an overwhelming quake that had her tightening around him almost unwilling to let him go.

He rested his forehead tired against her body and kissed her collarbone while his body calmed down from his release, there was a thin blanket of sweat covering them and they both shivered exposed to the chilly breeze sweeping their entangled bodies.

Caroline pulled a sheet over them and giggled when Klaus lifted his head under the sheet wondering how they were expected to breathe now that she trapped them in there.

"Is this your new plan to have a baby?" he cocked an eyebrow at her.

Caroline trapped the rim of the sheet under her head and laughed. "Yes. You're doomed now to spend your days in bed making love to your wife until she becomes very big and delivers you many many boys and girls."

"I thought that this was deemed to be fun." he pretended a grimace.

"Seriously Nik, you're not funny." she quickly said.

In return he laughed and toyed with her pouty lips, he tugged her lower lip with his thumb. "Do you reckon that I will be a good father Caroline?"

She was moved by his look and the vulnerable tone on his voice and warmed his shoulders with her hands, slowly caressing him as she spoke. "I'll tell you a secret now that we're hidden inside of this cocoon and where no one can listen to us. You have so much love to give that our child will be blessed with everything, and you will protect her or him with your life and if anything ever happens to me Nik, I know that you will take care of our son or daughter. I know you Nik, even when everything told me otherwise I stayed by your side because I knew no one would ever love me the way that you do, I knew that I would never have what we had and that was enough to push me forward while everything else pulled me back." There was a small worried line crossing his forehead and she smiled reading him easily. "I said if anything happens to me Nik."

"I can't lose you." he said assertive.

"I'm not going anywhere…" she grinned at him. "I'm trapped between sheets with you."

Klaus meant to smile but the very possibility of losing Caroline left him frozen, he drifted to cruel thoughts that weren't fair to have when he just experienced a bliss that was hers to take away if she ever left his life.

"Nik?" she asked him in a slow voice, she didn't like the thoughtful troubled lines on his face.

"Then I will have to keep you in here forever." he finally reacted.

She smiled cupping his face. "We will always be a part of each other Nik, no matter what."

"No matter what." he repeated before kissing her.

Elijah dropped his glass momentarily only so he could fold the other sleeve, he was deeply invested on it when there was a couple of heavy knocks on the front door, he frowned suspicious and left his office to check on the security cameras.

He caught Katherine doing a small swing with her body that resembled a small dance, he guessed that she was trying to warm up from the freezing night and he smiled when he opened the door of the Gallery for her.

"You forgot to return that call." she greeted him bringing forward the package that she was holding.

He could smell the food and apologized to her. "I was reeled back by an intense conversation with my brother."

"I asked the Chef to cook you something because I'm not a fan of scotch for dinner." she went as far as scolding him as she went past him entering the gallery and heading for his office with powerful Louboutin shoes that echoed through the empty space.

"That was very kind of you Katherine…" Elijah came to his office to find her already making space for an improvised dinner table, he halted now that he realized that she was actually carrying food for two.

"I just finished work and I'm starving so I took the liberty of assuming that you would like the company." she handed him a bottle of wine.

"You took attention to my favorite wine." he said looking at the bottle.

"I take attention to many things Elijah." she said removing her long coat.

He felt particularly inappropriate by the way that he actually reacted to the pencil skirt that she was wearing and the silk blouse that hugged her body so well. "Before we have dinner Katherine, I feel that I must be honest with you."

She quieted him at once by simmering her way to him, the skirt ended just below her knees and that only made her seem slender and taller than she already was. "I'm a very direct woman Elijah, I know that you're not available, although I don't see a ring around your finger I can tell that you're trapped to another unavailable woman, no one carries themselves with that much of undertone pain unless there's unrequited love."

"There are some unwanted feelings for my brother's wife." he strangely felt the need to be that utmost blunt and candid with her.

Katherine nodded undertaking his words. "I knew that it had to be something of that magnitude but the truth is that I like you, I don't know anyone like you Elijah and I'm really tired of immature boys who only think of cars, games and whose biggest intellect skills are actually naming all the players in their favorite teams. You know how to handle yourself and our talks have been so rich in everything that I would love if we could be friends."

"You had me convinced that we already were." he smiled sweetly at her.

She ignored how her heart raced to it and held her glass with determination. "Then open that bottle and hand me some wine, I want to talk about that book that you recommended, I started it two days ago and I can't stop reading it."

"I have the entire collection at home." he fell into an easiness with her that was new in his life.

"You can be my best friend." she joked.

He poured the wine into her glass with another one of those laughter displays that oddly only came forward when she was around.

When Caroline moved in bed cuddling his pillow like she was wrapping her body around his Klaus typed extra slower on his laptop, he was careful not to wake her.

He waited for the search engine to deliver him a few links and with a glance to make sure that she was still sleeping he opened a link that was simply a video made by a man while his wife was delivering a baby, Klaus couldn't explain how much the captions woke a few burning questions, how exactly painful would this be for Caroline?

The woman in the video seemed consumed by horrible spasms and Klaus quickly moved to the next link.

After a few cringing expressions he widened his search to find out if there was any way of making the labor less painful for Caroline, he bookmarked the links that he found most appeasing, the entire baby delivery under water sounded very interesting and all the opinions clearly stated how it was less painful and draining for the mother so that was a strong possibility to take into account.

Klaus' fingers were fast again researching over the matter that was stealing his sleep and he narrowed his eyes upon the next subject, after cross reading a medical article Klaus reached for his phone and dialed Stefan's number.

"What?" Stefan grumbled half-asleep.

Klaus was too obsessed with this now to give importance to the fact that he was calling his friend at 4 in the morning. "What exactly is a C-section? It looks so brutal on the mother."

"The… what?" Stefan was clearly still asleep.

Klaus rolled his eyes. "A Cesarean section Stefan, please focus!" he demanded.

"I just got home from a 48 hour shift and a surgery that lasted 7 hours, I'm having my first piece of sleep and you woke me for a drill on a procedure that is not my specialty and for a woman carrying a baby which Caroline is not." Stefan snapped very grumpy.

"You're right…" Klaus said thoughtful. "You handle hearts, you don't know anything about babies, you don't even know what a C-section is."

"Go to sleep Klaus." Stefan ended the call.

Klaus took the phone from his ear with a mopping fit, Stefan didn't have to be so rude, he was just about to ask him for the name of the best obstetrician in the country.

Seriously…
