Chapter 13: Warning

"Alice, are you ready to go out on our little 'family activity'?"

Alice looked up to see Emmitt smirking at her from her room's doorway, fully dressed to go out tonight on the family's planned excursion. She closed her textbook and set it on her table before getting up from her chair, a smirk forming on her face as she grabbed her coat.

"You seem a lot more excited about this than the rest of the family Emmitt." said Alice with a chuckle as she put on her coat.

"Hell yeah I'm excited about this," said the dimpled Cullen as he pumped his fist into the air. "It's not every day when you have the opportunity to fight somebody that is not a part of your family."

"Uh huh . . ." said Alice as she passed him and walked into the hallway. "But first we have to find the somebody."

"Good point . . ." said Emmitt as he followed after the pixie. "So what is the entire hullabaloo around your missing European History teacher huh?"

"Ms. Lillibone was a no-show today. The substitute managed to let out something about police involvement after some student questioning was used," explained Alice as the two walked down the stairs two at a time. "Edward then managed to find out for us that Ms. Lillibone has been missing since yesterday afternoon and her house was broken into last night. No substantial evidence has been found so far."

"No substantial evidence has been found, or no substantial evidence is GOING to be found?" asked Emmitt with a knowing look on his face as the two reached the house's foyer.

"That is the question," mumbled Alice as she crossed her arms. "I asked Jasper and Edward to take a look around Ms. Lillibone's place to see if they could find anything. . ."

"So that's why I haven't seen them for the past hour," grumbled Emmitt as he shook his head. "Do you think they have found anything yet?"

"I hope they did . . ." said Alice as she looked out the door's window. "Something tells me that Ms. Lillibone's disappearance is connected to that vampire that appeared in the woods outside of the house."

"Which would also mean that it's connected to Aurora, right?" asked Emmitt as Rosalie and Bella walked into the foyer.

"Definitely . . ." answered Alice as she turned to her fellow females. "What have you two been up to?"

"We've been checking the local news stations to see if there are any current stories that could be connected, or at least similar, to Ms. Lillibone's disappearance," answered Rosalie as she crossed her arms. "So far, we found nothing that would connect to your teacher's disappearance."

"Nothing . . . so far," said Emmitt with a suspicious look on his face as he turned to his mate. "Anyway, how long do you think it will be before Edward and Jasper get back here?"

"They'll be here in a few more minutes . . ." said Alice as she checked her visions. "So don't worry Emmitt, will be on the move pretty soon."

"Carlisle and Esme are getting ready now," said Bella as she pinched the bridge of her nose. "So is Jacob, Renessmee is going to sit this one out."

"Are you sure you want to have Nessie here alone?" asked Emmitt as he raised an eyebrow. "She may throw a party while we're all out you know?"

"Like I would be able to do that in just a few hours!" called Nessie from her spot in the living room.

"It's possible," said Emmitt as he turned to the room "You've heard of flash mobs before haven't ya? You could have planned a flash party for all we know."

"Yeah . . . like I could get away with a flash party, knowing all too well that dad could easily hear the thoughts in my head . . ." said Renesmee as she walked into the foyer with her arms crossed over her chest.

"You could have had Bella shielding your thoughts for you." said Emmitt as he pointed to his niece.

"That would have raised dad's suspicions easily. Plus, if I did ask mom, then I would have to let her in on the plan, and you know how much she dislikes parties." said Renesmee as she pointed her finger at Bella.

"Yeah . . . she knows me so well." said Bella with a smirk on her face as shook her head. Emmitt tried to say another work, but a small knock on the door stopped him before the words could come out of his mouth. The vampires all turned around to see Edward and Jasper standing outside on the porch, and from the looks on their faces, the news they had wasn't going to be good.

"Hey guys!" said Emmitt as his two brothers walked into the house. "What did you guys find while you were out?"

"Oh we found something alright . . ." grumbled Jasper as he shook his head. "Edward . . . you want to tell them, or should I have the honors?"

"I think I should say it . . ." said Edward as he looked around the room. "We found Ms. Lillibone's body in a ditch a good mile from her house. Her body was completely drained of her blood."

"Well . . . there goes European History for the year . . ." said Bella as she mumbled under her breath.

"Did you find anything else?" asked Rosalie as she raised n eyebrow.

"Yeah . . . one thing," said Jasper as he brushed a hand through his hair. "A message."

"A message . . . What is it?" asked Alice as she raised an eyebrow.

"It was a simple message. It's just two words, but it reads like a thousand," said Edward as he looked around at his family. "We're coming."
