Last time we saw Dawn go up against Coordinator and lost. Still, she had a great battle and showed everyone what she's capable of. Now, we will move on to the next chapter where our gang is on their way to the next city, where they run into an old enemy. I don't need to say who it is since the title gives it away.
Anyways, I want to thank everyone for the support you have given for my story. Thanks also for the reviews and a big thanks to my friend who helped looked over the story. I appreciate it my friend and I hope everyone likes what I got plan for this chapter. Since I know there are readers from my past story who knows who is the enemy and what kind of person that enemy is.
Also to the people who left their OCs for my story. I will be using them when I can and so will their Pokemon. I don't own anything of Pokemon just my OC. Also for those who don't know: the Italic will represent the Pokemon talking and Bold is for thoughts. Time for the next chapter to begin!
Apollo
Twinleaf town (Normal pov)
Annabeth is outside her friend's house on the porch watching the full moon. She enjoys watching it and it reminds her of her times with her husband. Oh how much she misses him. He may have been dorky at times, she still loved him.
She knows Ryan misses him too. Growing up without a father was hard for him. That's why she worked so hard to always be there for him and help him when he needed it. She had to be both a father and a mother for her son.
"Hey," Annabeth turns around and sees her friend. "Are you okay?"
Annabeth nods her head. "Yeah, I just needed some air."
Johanna stands next to her friend and looks up at the moon. "I remember whenever we camped outside I would see you staring at the moon. I always asked you why you look up at it."
"And my response would be because it's beautiful to watch," replies Annabeth letting out a small laugh. "I remember and I also remember whenever it got cold we would huddle up together to stay warm."
Johanna's face brightens up as she recalls that moment. "Yeah and it worked. Still, I hope our kids don't end up doing that."
"Why not?" replied Annabeth. "If our kids got married we would be in-laws."
"They're still kids Annabeth!" shouted Johanna whose face turned bright.
Annabeth lets out a loud laughter before patting her friend on the back. "Relax, I'm just joking."
Johanna rolls her eyes until she sees something nearby. "What's that?"
Annabeth looks over and sees what appears to be a helicopter. "I see it too, what could it be?"
"Should we call the police?" replied Johanna.
"No," replies Annabeth as she goes inside and comes out with her Pokeballs. "I say we go find out."
Johanna however disagrees. "No, we should just call the cops and let them handle it."
"By the time they get here it will be too late," says Annabeth. "Come on Johanna, where's your sense of adventure or did you hang it up for that apron?"
Johann glares at her friend and decides to prove her wrong. "Fine, but I'm still calling the cops just in case."
"Whatever, now let's go find that helicopter!"
Eterna Forest (Rachel's pov)
It has been two days since Dawn competed at the Pokemon contest and now we're heading towards the city of Eterna. It is there where Ryan wants to challenge the gym leader and win his second badge. We couldn't wait, especially since Derek told us the gym leader uses Grass-type Pokemon. It will give Charizard and Blaziken a chance to show their stuff.
I would compete, but Ryan wants everyone to get their shot in a gym battle. So I agreed to step down and let the boys have their fun. Of course we have to get out of this forest first before that can happen. Thankfully we're not that far away from the city, but we decided to stop for the night and rest up.
After getting the tents set up, the campfire started, and finished eating dinner we decided to tell stories to pass the time. Our mistake of course was letting Derek start off.
"And then when she turned around she found herself trapped in the room with the serial killer, with a hook for a hand!"
Derek lets out a maniacal laugh causing Dawn and Iris to let out a loud scream, while I held on to Ryan scared.
"Damn it Derek!" shouted Iris. "We said don't tell a story that will give us a heart attack."
"I think I almost had a heart attack," says Dawn who is shivering in fear.
"Oh relax, it was just a story…or was it!" Dawn screams again. "I'm kidding, sheesh lighten up. This hook isn't even real it's plastic."
"You jerk!" shouted Dawn in anger. "That was not funny."
"That's because you probably can't tell a good scary story," says Derek as he lays down on the ground.
"Oh I got one and it involves the ghost of the idiot."
Derek sits up intrigue by the story. "How does it go?"
"It's about an idiot named Derek, who died for scaring his friends," Dawn grabs a small log nearby and starts chasing Derek with it. "Hold still!"
"Run, run, run as fast as you can," Derek ducks a swing from Dawn. "You can't catch me! I'm just that awesome!"
Iris gets up and goes to help stop Dawn from killing her brother, who deserves it. I on the other hand am clutching my heart and tried to calm down. Even though I know that was just a story it still scared me. I then feel Ryan's arm wrap around my shoulders and I feel him bring me close to his body.
"Hey, it's okay Rachel," says Ryan comforting me. "It was just a story. Don't worry about it, okay?"
I nod slowly and nuzzled close to Ryan. I know, but it was still scary. I'm surprise you didn't get scared.
I can see Ryan smiling at me and shook his head. "Derek's stories don't scare me. Seeing my friends get hurt or worst, that's what I am scared of."
I can sense Ryan's nervousness and I try to help him feel better. As long as we're together and watch each other's back, then everything will be okay.
Ryan turns to me and smiles. "Thank you Rachel. I'm glad you're here."
I nod in agreement. And I'm glad I met you too. If it wasn't for you I wouldn't be here.
"Yeah," Ryan lets out a small laughter. "Then it's a good thing that Zigzagzoon crossed my path and caused me to crash otherwise I wouldn't have met you."
I let out a small laughter too and I remember Ryan telling me that. How he pissed off a Zigzagzoon and how it caused him to crash his bike. We never found that same Pokemon again, but if we did I would thank him. And then I would punch him in the head for hurting my Ryan.
"Hey Rachel, there's something I've wanted to ask you."
I turn towards Ryan who seems nervous all of a sudden. What is it? Is everything okay?
"Everything is fine, at least I hope it is when I ask you this."
I don't know what he wants to say, but then I remembered my talk with Gale. How he told me if I can't make the first move to tell Ryan my secret, then I should wait for him to tell me. Is this it? Is he going to tell me he loves me?
If he is then what should I say? Should I say yes I love him too? How will this affect our relationship? And how will the others react if they find out?
"Rachel, for a long while I've been feeling something that I've ignored since I didn't want it to effect what we have. Now though I…" Ryan stops for a moment hesitating.
I didn't want him to stop I wanted to hear what he has to say. You can tell me, what is it?
Ryan begins acting more nervously and I couldn't blame him. "Rachel…I…"
"Out of my way, please!" Derek interrupted Ryan by running by us and climbs up the tree. Dawn comes by a few seconds later and threw the log at Derek who ducks. "Ha! You missed little blue!"
"Come down here and die like a man!"
"Never!" shouted Derek as he climbs up and hides in the leaves.
"Don't make me call out my Pokemon to get you down!" I could tell Dawn was tempted to do that.
Iris then runs by us and tries to calm the situation down. "Dawn, come on let this go. It's not worth it."
"I just want to hit him once that's all," replies Dawn.
Feeling bad for her and feeling upset that Derek ruined the moment I had with Ryan I decided to lend my friend a hand. I used my powers to teleport Derek out of the tree and land next to Dawn.
"What the," he turns towards me and glares. "Oh you are one evil-…"
Dawn tackles Derek and begins beating him up. I turn towards Ryan hoping he'll still tell me he loves me. What were you going to say Ryan?
Ryan turns towards me and shook his head. "Never mind, I'll tell you later."
Are you sure? I replied hoping he would still say he loves me.
"I'm sure," replies Ryan as he lets out a loud yawn. "Anyways, it's late I'm going to turn in. Are you coming?"
I nod my head. I just need to take care of something first.
Ryan goes towards our tent, while I get up, and levitate towards the others. Iris pulls her friend away from her brother who gets up and dust off his clothes.
"Damn, I'm sorry for scaring you Dawn. It was just a story," he then noticed I was standing behind him. "Oh hey Rachel, what's up?"
I punched Derek in the face knocking him out and left the girls surprised. I didn't say anything else and headed back to the tent. Opening it I see Ryan is already going to sleep. So I go in and lie next to him.
I let out a small sigh and stared at my human. I smile happily seeing him sleep. I lean over carefully and kissed him on the cheek. Goodnight Ryan, sleep well.
(Normal pov)
Iris helps her brother up after helping him regain consciousness. "Are you okay?"
Derek nods his head and held his right cheek. "Damn, she punches hard."
"I wonder why Rachel did that?" replied Dawn wondering the same thing on everyone's mind.
"Well, it couldn't be because of what happened," replies Iris. "I mean Derek does dumb things, but she doesn't get involved in them."
"Yeah," agrees Dawn. "She lets us handle it by kicking Derek's butt."
"Uh yeah I'm right here girls," says Derek reminding the girls of his presence. "Anyways, that can't be it. That punch means she is pissed about something and I'm not dumb enough to piss off a Gardevoir."
"Then, what could it be?" replied Dawn.
"I don't know," replies Derek as he begins to think of some ideas. "But I'll find out…after I get an ice pack and get some rest."
"Let me take you to your tent," volunteered Dawn.
"So, you're not mad then?" replied Derek.
Dawn shook her head and replies. "If you tell another scary story I will beat you down."
Derek lets out a small laugh. "You got it blue."
Iris smiles happily as she sees the two leave. Her Pokemon Axew appears from her hair and talks to her.
"I know, they're going to be perfect for each other. That's if she doesn't end up killing him."
(Nova's pov)
My team and I made it to the lake to check on the machine we left behind two days ago. Cyrus wanted us out here because the Pokemon we're looking for damaged the machine somehow. So he sends us out here to fix it and set it up somewhere it won't be seen. We have to move fast though since we can't risk anyone spotting us.
"Will you two hurry up and get that thing working again?" I wish I was given than the one I have now. These slowpokes are taking too long and if they break this machine I will kill them.
"We'll have it ready soon," replies one of the grunts.
"Make it sooner," I reply as I walk toward the lake and stare at it angrily. "You are not going to ruin what I've worked hard to get.
"Ma'am, we got the machine up and running again," replies one of the grunts.
"Good," I approach the machine and activate it. "Take it somewhere where it can't be seen."
The grunts pick the machine up and take it away. While they do this I hear a twig snapping nearby. I take out my Pokeball and threw it out.
"Monferno, use Flamethrower!"
(Normal pov)
Two older women jumped out of the bushes before the fire could hit them. When they got out Mars sees them and growls in anger that they have been found.
"Who are you?" Nova asked.
"My name is Annabeth," replies one of the women. "Who are you? And what was that machine?"
"Who I am and what that machine is not of your business," replies Nova seeing these women as a problem, but not a threat. "Now I suggest you go away or else."
"Fine, I guess I'll have to take care of you both," she throws out another Pokeball and out comes her Brozong. "What's it going to be you old hags?"
That ticked Johanna off, which Annabeth noticed. "Oh, now you've done it."
"No one calls me an old hag and gets away with it," Johanna throws out her Pokeball and out comes her Glameow.
Annabeth throws out her Pokeball and out comes her Lopunny. "Are you ready for a fight?" Lopunny nods her head. "Good, let's kick some ass."
Nova turns to her two Pokemon. "Make them suffer you two."
Meanwhile (Dawn's pov)
I woke up in the middle of the night wanting to go to the bathroom. One of the many things I hate the outdoors. Iris came with me since she didn't want to be alone in the tent. I guess hat story her brother told us was still on her mind.
I'm still scared of the story too, but I'm more scared taking care of my business outside. What I would give have an indoor restroom. After I finished we decided to get some more water since we were running low. One of the good things that does come from staying in the outdoors, is you can get water for free.
"So Dawn, what was it like when you battled Coordinator X?" asked Iris.
"It was pretty cool," I replied. "It felt great for me to battle against someone who has experience and is strong too."
"Wow," replies Iris. "That's cool and did you tell your mom that?"
I nod my head. "Yeah, she told me she fought X years ago and that the story goes is that X comes from a mysterious family."
This got Iris's attention. "A mysterious family?"
"Yes," I said as I continue with the conversation. "She said Coordinator X has existed for 50 years and that he fought in Pokemon leagues before the Pokemon contests came around."
"Wow, that's so cool," says Iris who is amazed. "How did you find out about this?"
"Derek told me," I then felt a little guilty trying to hit Derek earlier. "I know he was joking about the story, but I wish he wouldn't take it too far."
I see Iris shrugging her shoulders. "I know, but he doesn't mean any harm. He just enjoys giving a good story since his sense of direction sucks."
I giggled and then nod in agreement. "Yeah, still he is a nice guy and I'm glad I met him."
Iris nods in agreement too. "Yeah, I'm lucky that he found me too."
"He did?" I asked.
Iris begins explaining. "Derek was all alone at home and he found me on the doorstep when I was little. He took me in and took care of me until his parents got back."
"And that's when they adopted you, right?"
Iris nods her head. "Yes, I love my big brother and I'm glad I was able to find him again."
I nod in agreement. "Me too, it must have been fun growing up in the village."
"Yes it was," replies Iris. "We used to do everything together and he would teach me how to battle with a Pokemon."
"That's cool," I said remembering how Derek trained me before my contest. "He's an awesome big brother, even if he does act dorky."
"Yeah," agrees Iris. "But he's a cool big dorky brother."
"Awww that's so sweet," we turn around and see someone appear from the forest wearing a cloak. "So you must be Derek's little sister. I'm glad to finally meet you."
I got Iris behind me concern about who this guy is. "W-who are you? And what do you want?"
The hooded figure removes his cloak and reveals who he is. He appears to be in his 20's, he has spiky blue hair, blue eyes, fair complexion, he is 6ft tall, and is wearing a black tracksuit. I looked behind towards Iris to see both fear and anger in her eyes.
"It's him," whispered Iris. "It's the guy who attacked our village."
I gasped in shock that the guy who attacked the home of her friends is right in front of them. What's worst is they didn't have their Pokemon with them.
The man looks at Iris and remembers her. "I know you. You're that girl from the Dragon village in Unova."
Iris glares at the man and replies in a harsh tone. "The same village you attacked!"
The man laughs and doesn't deny his actions. "I should have burned it to the ground, along with all of you, and that brother of yours. Where is he by the way?"
I knew this guy is dangerous and couldn't risk the safety of her friends. "We don't know."
The man knew though she was lying and tries another way to get the information. "Tell me where he is and I won't have to hurt you or your friend."
Iris and I backed away, but we knew they wouldn't get far. If the guy has his Pokemon then we will get caught.
"I'll give you to the count of three. One…two…" before he got to three they hear someone shouting.
"Use, Shadow Ball!"
The figure jumps out of the way as a dark energy ball almost hits him. We look behind us and se our friends standing there.
Are you guys all right? Rachel asked.
We nod our heads as Derek approached us. "I'm glad you guys are okay. He didn't hurt you, right?"
"We're fine," I then turned towards the guy. "Derek, that's the guy who attacked your village."
"I know," replies Derek. "Ryan and I know who he is."
I turn towards Ryan surprised. "Y-you do?"
Ryan nods his head. "I didn't know he was the one who attacked the village until after the story Iris told us and after I talked to Derek."
"Who is he?" I asked.
Derek stares at the guy before he tells me the name. "His name is Apollo."
Uh oh, Apollo is back and things don't look good for the team. Will they defeat Apollo? Will Annabeth and Johanna defeat Nova? And will the writers ever make a Pokemon series without Ash as the main character? Find out next time to see what happens.
I also want to thank my friend for his help on looking over the story. I appreciate it. Also, the next chapter might take a while to be uploaded since class is starting again. I'm sorry, but I promise the next chapter will be uploaded. It won't take me too long, but I have to get through my classes first in order to work on the chapters.
So, thanks for the support and I hope you all understand why I will take a while to get the next chapter ready. Please leave some reviews and let me know what you guys thought. If you didn't like it then don't leave a review or a flame review please. All right, time for me to go. Take care and see you all next time...one more thing. If anyone is good at drawing or has an account on Deviantart then please let me know since I need some help on a drawing I want have done for another story, bye.
