Oh my goodness guys, life is so incredibly hard. Like I can't even. I'M SO SORRY IT'S TAKEN SO LONG BUT UGH STRESS AND LIFE AND FUTURE AND okay ranting is done. Also, just letting you know, college applications are STILL not all done :/ But! Almost! I should be writing an essay right now…but I DON'T CARE.

Also, I realized I've never really thanked any of you personally for commenting, which I should, because every little comment makes my day because it means someone reads and someone cares So here's my first one, thank you Innocence and Instinct because your comment pushed me to make this NOW rather than later. And also, BRO LIKE LET'S QUIT APPLICATIONS, I'M SO DONE. Good luck with yours too (I don't care if you're done already, even if I'm not, I'm still saying good luck ;) )

I can feel something breathing. Up and down and up and down. That's the first thing I register the night after the attack.

As I open my eyes I also realize that I'm completely surrounded by fur.

"Lila?"

I cringe and bury my head into the warm fur in an effort to hide myself. Last night's events have left me shaky and unsettled and I can't seem to bring my brain into reality.

"Lila please. It's just me. It's Alice."

Alice. The little pixie's image flashes in my mind and I jump out of my fuzzy hideaway and into her arms.

"Oh Alice I'm so glad you're here! I had the most horrific night!" I sob into her shoulder as she hugs me back.

"Shhhh it's okay, it's all over now." She soothes as she runs her fingers through my hair. She grabs my shoulders and pulls me away from her shoulder, looking me in the eye. "We have some things we'd like to tell you."

After five minutes of patting down my wolf's fur into position I'd be happy to lay against, I sat back and looked at all of the Cullens, and Bella, sitting across from me.

They all looked uncomfortable and extremely apologetic. Though for the life of me, I couldn't understand why. I had been attacked, and unless one of them paid a hit man to come kill me, it's not their fault.

"We have a story to tell you Lila," Carlisle started, "and some of it may shock you."

"But you should never feel afraid, dear" Esme said, putting a supportive hand on Carlisle's arm.

"Because we're here for you." Alice chirped.

"And we'll crush anything that tries to hurt you!" Emmett punched his fists together.

"And we'll never hurt you, ourselves." Jasper finished.

"Well that was strangely rehearsed." I muttered and I felt my wolf's stomach bounce up and down in laughter.

"Are you ready to listen?" Bella asked.

I nodded vigorously. The more I knew, the more prepared I'd be for future incidents.

"So I believe the best way to go about this is to just tell you." Carlisle said.

"Rip the band-aid." Bella agreed.

"What attacked you was a vampire."
