The reason I chose a Seven Deadly Sins theme for these fights is because I thought to myself, that with seven Servant classes, was it possible for the Fate/Zero Servants to be associated with these sins? So I did a search, and sure enough each original Servant could have a deadly sin associated with them. And by coincidence, each of the new Servants I introduced can have the opposite heavenly virtue associated with them. I'll explain more with each confrontation. Disclaimer: I don't own Fate/Zero, Kill la Kill, RWBY, Super Sentai, Kamen Rider, Overlord, Persona, or Hellsing Abridged.

Chapter 13: Might of the Sorcerer King

Risei had just heard the report from the Association. It seemed children were disappearing at quite the extended rate lately. He could only assume Dark Caster, Gilles de Rais, was responsible along with his new Master. 'Such a gluttonous action. Just more and more killing, like he's addicted to it. By comparison... According to his legend, Titan Caster never used more power than was truly necessary, save for a few times he accidentally went overboard. But he always took careful stock of his resources for each step in his plans for ascendance...'

Ryuunosuke blinked as he looked around him. Instead of his apartment, he was out in the middle of a large, grassy field, a forest visible just to the right of him. "I must be in the middle of a dream," he realized, "I do remember falling asleep after watching the news." He then spotted a figure in familiar robes. It was obviously Caster, but his robes were closed to hide his exposed ribs, he wore heavy gauntlets to cover his hands, and his face was covered by some sort of tribal mask. Next to him was a rather tall and curvaceous woman fully decked out in grayish-black armor.

"Oh... I get it. This is some of Caster's memories." Caster had already explained how first-hand memories of a Servant's legend could be shown to a Master through dreams. Clearly, this was Caster's memory of his confrontation of the Sunlight Scripture. And sure enough, said Scripture was in full force several meters away from Caster's position, several mechanical-looking angels flying above them. A blonde man at the forefront of the group, Nigun if Ryuunosuke remembered correctly, was looking bemused. Then again, this was just after Caster had used a teleportation to trade places with the warrior Gazef.

"And just who are you?," Nigun asked. "Nice to meet you, people of the Slane Theocracy," Caster offered in greeting, "My name is Ainz Ooal Gown. But please... Call me Ainz." Ryuunosuke couldn't help but chuckle at Nigun's confusion. "The man has no idea just how fucked he is." "I have something of a relationship with the villagers," Caster said. Nigun smirked. "And you've come to beg for their lives, or just your own?" Ryuunosuke couldn't help but laugh. He almost wished he could interact with this dream so he could tell Nigun how stupid he was.

"No, no, you misunderstand," Caster retorted. A small wind picked up, and Ryuunosuke could see the nervousness in the stance of the other Scripture mages. "I overheard your conversation with the Chief Warrior," Caster explained, "You really have a lot of balls, don't you?" Nigun looked confused. "I spent my precious time and energy saving those people," Caster explained, "And you brazenly declare your intent to massacre them. I can't imagine anything more offensive."

"He's got a point," Ryuunosuke noted, "When you go out of your way to save something, you usually want it to stay saved." Nigun's look of confusion gave way to cockiness. "You're being rather brazen yourself for a meager magic caster." Ryuunosuke smirked, knowing Nigun's foot would soon be in his mouth. Maybe even literally. "So," Nigun said, "What do you plan to do?" "Offer you pitiful life to me without resistance," Caster offered, "Do this and there will no pain. However..."

He clenched his fist. "If you refuse... I swear here and now, you will die painfully and in despair for you imprudence." Despite the malice in Caster's voice, Ryuunosuke noted that he wasn't raising his voice beyond what was needed for his hapless foes to hear. Though that likely just meant Caster was so angered at Nigun's actions that his rage came around full circle. Nigun, however, completely missed this. "Have the angels attack this fool!" As two angels rushed in and seemed to impale Caster, Ryuunosuke closed his eyes and gave a reserved sigh. "They wish it was that easy."

Not realizing what just happened, Nigun's brief shock gave way to smugness. "Is that all you had? I expected more after a bluff like that." He then noticed that the angels seemed to be struggling for some reason. From where he was, Ryuunosuke could see Caster grabbing the angels by their heads. "Did you not hear me?," he asked, clearly annoyed, "I said to offer your life without resistance. By the time I'm through with you, you'll wish you had listened."

The other mages couldn't believe their eyes. "A trick!" "Yes!" "It has to be!" "High-Tier Physical Nullification," Caster explained as the energy lances phasing harmlessly through his body disappeared, "It's a passive skill that completely nullifies the physical attacks of low-level weapons and monsters." Nigun was rendered speechless by this revelation. "If such skills do exist in the New World Caster came from," Ryuunosuke noted, "Then clearly Nigun or his Scripture never saw it act so effectively."

Without another thought to the angels struggling against his grip, he body-slammed them into the ground, destroying them with his physical might alone. Ryuunosuke cackled at the sight of the disintegrating angels. "Man, that looked so cool!" "As I thought," Caster noted, "They really are the Archangel Flames from YGGDRASIL." Nigun was stunned by the sight of his angels, which in his mind were mighty messengers for God, but which Ryuunosuke figured were likely just experience fodder for an MMO, being destroyed so casually.

"The fact that you can use magic and summon spells from YGGDRASIL intrigues me," Caster said as he stood upright, "I want to know why they exist here and how you could have learned them. But for now I'll focus on killing you. It's my turn. You wanted a massacre... You'll get one." Nigun finally seemed unnerved by Caster's words. "Don't just stand there! Attack him! Hurry!" "Albedo, stand back," Caster said. Ryuunosuke realized he must have been speaking to the armored woman.

Albedo bowed slightly. "Lord." She then leapt back a good distance. As the Archangel Flames approached, Caster called out, "Negative Burst!" A hemisphere of dark matter, crackling with electric energy, expanded from Caster and engulfed the angels. Faster than blinking, they all disintegrated instantly, leaving Nigun and his Scripture horrified at the sight. "That's not... Possible," Nigun said in disbelief. Ryuunosuke chuckled, wondering if Gazef gave any inkling as to Caster's power prior to the switch.

All at once, the mages started casting their own spells. Ryuunosuke overheard the words Holy Ray, Poison, Shockwave, Fire Rain, Confusion, Stalagmite's Charge, Open Wounds, Roaring Flame, Cursed Word, and Blindness. These were all spells that he remembered being part of Caster's Dark Wisdom Noble Phantasm, but they were all low-tiered spells that wouldn't even scratch Caster's magical defenses. As the spells bounced off Caster harmlessly, he mused, "Hm... It would seem they know more YGGDRASIL spells than I initially thought..."

Eventually the spells caused a lot of dust to be kicked up, causing Caster to be blocked from view, albeit briefly. As the dust cleared, it was obvious he was getting more interested. "Tell me! Where did you learn that magic!?" One mage, freaked out by Caster's apparent indestructibility, yelled in fear as he fired what appeared to be a wrist-mounted crossbow. However, Albedo dashed back in to block the bolt, taking off the mage's head as she did. Ryuunosuke chuckled. "Damn. No wonder Caster's sweet on this woman."

The event happened so quickly that Nigun was more confused than horrified. "What just... Happened?" Albedo was crouched in a battle stance, her giant axe ready for another strike if need be. "Albedo," Caster said, "You're well aware that these pitiful low-level spells would have done me no harm. There was no need for you to interfere." Albedo turned to face him. "I beg your pardon, Lord Ainz. But if someone wishes to fight a Supreme Being such as you, they should at least be able to best me. These men are mere pebbles fighting a mountain."

Caster gave a good-natured laugh as Ryuunosuke rolled his eyes. "I'm afraid they wouldn't meet your requirements in ten lifetimes," Caster pointed out. He then turned to Nigun. "Now..." Nigun shrank back in fear. He then turned to a larger angel that hadn't joined the earlier Archangel Flames. "Principality Observation! Attack!" The Principality brought its hands together and materialized a battle mace. It then moved to smash Caster, who promptly blocked the mace with his bare hands as casually as an ordinary man swats a mosquito.

"My, my," Caster said as he pointed to the angel, "I guess I should fight back. Hell Flame!" A small spark flew from Caster to the angel, quickly engulfing it in black-red flames that destroyed it within seconds, leaving the Scripture equal parts terrified and flabbergasted. "That was... One hit..." Nigun's face showed equal parts terror and rage, as if he couldn't fully comprehend Caster's true power. "That's impossible! There's no way a high-level angel could be destroyed using only one spell!"

"Then how do you explain the lack of angel, moron!?," Ryuunosuke pointed out, really wishing they could hear him, "It's not like he's some sort of illusionist, or he'd actually be dead!" "Captain Nigun, sir," one of the mages said, fear evident in his voice, "What should we do now?" Nigun seemed to have an idea, and smirked as he got a blue crystal out of his robes. "We'll summon the highest level angel!" That seemed to restore hope to his men. Ryuunosuke lamented that he couldn't hear the thoughts of these people, so he couldn't tell what Caster was thinking when he saw the crystal's glow.

That said, based on what Ryuunosuke knew of Caster, he was likely analyzing what the crystal might be. In all likelihood, he recognized it as another YGGDRASIL item. "Albedo, I believe your skills may be required." There was more an air of caution in Caster's tone than concern. With his skills, Ryuunosuke guessed most angel-based monsters would prove little challenge. But Nigun did proclaim this angel to be the highest level. "Could it be the Seraph Empyrean Caster once mentioned?"

If it was Caster likely managed to defeat it, since his legend extended well past this point, but such a feat would have taken all his strength. Albedo moved to obey Caster's order. "Understood!" Nigun grinned manically as the crystal activated. "Behold! The shining form of the highest of angels! Dominion Authority!" As the pure white angel appeared, Ryuunosuke was dumbstruck for a moment, before calling out, "What is with these idiots!? Do they not know anything about angelology!? The Seraphim are the highest level of angels, being the top rank of the First Sphere! Meanwhile the Dominion is merely the top rank of the Second Sphere!"

Caster was similarly flabbergasted at the idiocy of these ignorant mages, even as they cheered at its appearance. "Wait... You're telling me this is your strongest trump card...?" Ryuunosuke sighed. It looked like this would be easier for Caster than he originally thought. Mistaking Caster's confusion for utter terror, Nigun smirked. "That's right! I didn't think I'd have to call on it, but you proved worthy of its divine greatness!" Both Ryuunosuke and Caster facepalmed at Nigun's obliviousness. "I'm at a complete loss for words...," Caster noted. "What he said...," Ryuunosuke echoed.

Nigun obviously couldn't hear Ryuunosuke, but he did hear Caster and misinterpreted his state of mind. "Regretting your folly? I wouldn't blame you if you were." "This is stupid," Caster said bluntly. That got Nigun flabbergasted all over again. "What...?" "I can't believe I put up my guard for this sort of child's play," Caster said, deeply disappointed. Ryuunosuke had to admit, he liked the look of abject terror and confusion on Nigun's face. "What was that...? You can't be serious...?"

He gulped. It was clear there was disbelief in his mind. "No way... You're lying! Mankind can't complete with its might... I'll show you!" He looked up at the Dominion. "Smite him with your divine power!" As the Dominion's staff cracked apart, Nigun grinned. "Dominion Authority is the holy product of seventh-tier magic! Nothing can survive it! Now receive the gods' judgement and repent!" Ryuunosuke couldn't help but smirk as the Holy Smite hit Caster. "I guess it never occurred to him that Caster could be anything but human. Or that he could have power greater than seventh-tier. Well, he's gonna find out the hard way."

Sure enough, Nigun's smugness slowly fell as he heard Caster actually laugh, even as he was being struck. "So this is how it feels to take damage! This is pain!" Ryuunosuke gave a cackle of his own as absolute fear came over Nigun, who was now learning just what he was dealing with in the worst possible way. He was likely expecting screams rather than laughter. Well, he kind of got what he wanted, but from Albedo, who screamed more out of rage than pain. "You lower life-forms!" As energy erupted from beneath Albedo, Nigun shrank back in surprise and fear.

Luckily for him, Albedo had bigger concerns than some overly smug mage who was too clever by half. "That's my love!," Albedo yelled in anger, "My beloved Lord Ainz, the ruler of my heart and soul! You caused him pain... And for that you will know Hell!" "I kinda feel like she's overreacting," Ryuunosuke said, "But it is sweet that she's so concerned about Caster." Caster placed a hand on Albedo's shoulder to reassure her. "Calm down, Albedo." Albedo started to become calmer, but there was still concern evident in her tone. "But... Lord Ainz...!"

"It's fine," Caster assured her, "Aside from the surprising weakness of the angels, everything is going exactly as I had foreseen it." He stepped forward. "It's my turn again... Know despair..." Ryuunosuke could see a hint of a glow from behind the mask Caster wore as he raised his palm to the Dominion. "Black Hole!" A singularity appeared right next to the Dominion, instantly sucking it in and destroying it. The after-effect seemed to cause an odd effect of showing the stars in the sky, even though Ryuunosuke was sure it was still afternoon when this fight was taking place.

As for the Scripture, they were so shocked they couldn't even feel proper fear. "Even demons don't have this kind of power...," Nigun noted, "Just who in the world are you?" "Ainz Ooal Gown," Caster replied, "In the past, there was no one alive who did not fear this name." As he spoke, a sudden crack appeared in the sky, but it quickly disappeared in a flash of light. Nigun was confused at the sight. "Hey... What was that?" "It seems that someone was using reconnaissance magic to watch you from afar," Caster suggested, "I'm guessing the Theocracy. But my defense barrier counteracted it, so I doubt they saw very much."

"My country was... Watching me...?," Nigun asked in surprise. "It makes sense," Ryuunosuke realized, "They likely saw he was taking too long to finish his mission and was wondering what was keeping him." "If that's all you had," Caster said, "It's time to end this..." "No! No, no, please wait!," Nigun said, finally understanding how deep in it he was, "I beg of you Sir Ainz! I mean, Lord Ainz! Spare my life! The rest of these men don't matter! I can give you whatever you wish! Name it! I will do whatever it takes to appease you!"

As the cries of protest from his men started, Albedo turned to him. "I think you're confused." "Wha...!?," Nigun said in surprise. "Lord Ainz has no need for sniveling lower life-forms," Albedo clarified, "Humans like you should bow their heads and give thanks to him for ending their miserable lives." "Yeah man," Ryuunosuke said, "Did you really think he was gonna let you live after all that? If there's one thing I've learned about Caster, it's that when he makes a promise, he sticks to it. I'd say it was nice knowing you, but you were only ever a footnote in Ainz Ooal Gown's legend."

Not able to fully comprehend his position, Nigun simply muttered, "What's that mean... Humans like me?" Caster responded by removing his mask, revealing his undead form. "What was it you said to Gazef? Cease your futile resistance, and just lie down like a good dog." Seeing Caster for the undead he really was, whatever was left of Nigun's courage left him, and Ryuunosuke was sure his sanity might have gone with it. "As an act of mercy," Caster said, "I'll make sure your death is painless." The last thing Ryuunosuke saw before he woke up was the look of sheer terror on Nigun's face.

Ryuunosuke stirred in his bed. "Good morning, Master Uryuu," came a elderly voice. Ryuunosuke looked to see the familiar form of Sebas Tian, one of Caster's Guardians from his Noble Phantasm, Great Tomb of Nazarick. "Oh, hey there," Ryuunosuke said. "Forgive the intrusion," Sebas said, "But Lord Ainz, whom you refer to as Titan Caster, has just located where Dark Caster is. He feels we should move out immediately, as he has spotted the young heir of the Tohsaka family heading in that direction."

Ryuunosuke narrowed his eyes. He was aware of the disappearance of local children. Months ago he wouldn't have given it a second thought, if he wasn't the actual perpetrator. But if this was the work of Bluebeard, then Ryuunosuke felt he had grown beyond that sort of childish style of killing. "Alright. Let me clean up, then we'll head out before lunch." Sebas nodded. "One more thing. Father Kotomine has made an offer that any Master that can deal with Dark Caster and his false Master will be granted an extra Command Seal."

Ryuunosuke looked at the Command Seals on his hand. He knew this was a chance he could not pass up. "I think now's a good time to use one of Caster's mightiest Noble Phantasms. With this offer up for grabs, there's never been a better time." He finished showering, dressing, and eating breakfast, then entered the Gate into the sewer hideout. "Sorry if I'm late." "Not at all," Caster assured him, "My familiars have confirmed that the young Tohsaka heir is not yet in any danger. My greater concern is the children already in Gilles's captivity."

"Yeah, I got the impression from the spellbook," Ryuunosuke noted, "Much of the spells require a ton of mana. While his status as the Caster class would give Gilles enough mana for most of the spells, some of the larger ones would require more mana from living beings." "Ultimately Gilles de Rais is a second-rate magician," Caster noted, "A mere human with a spellbook that he can only use because it was translated into a language he can understand. But that makes him no less dangerous. That said, we cannot simply defeat him immediately. Not until his Master is dealt with, to cut his link with the Grail."

Ryuunosuke smirked as he took out a knife and pricked his finger. In an instant, the blood seemed to dance on his palm. "Gotta thank your girl Shalltear for teaching me hemomancy. I never knew I had such magical potential." "Your family were once great mages," Caster noted, "And even when you used the ritual to summon me your Magical Circuits were merely dormant. Given time you could become a great magus. But while I have tremendous raw magical power, I have not the academic ability to teach magic, so this is the most I could offer."

Gilles finished off his latest victim as his summoner Gula approached, munching on a half-eaten turkey leg. He tossed it aside, just out of reach of several caged children. Gula was rather corpulent and his robes were colored orange, the image of a boar seen on his under-robe. "The recent curfew has made it more difficult to find the ingredients I need," Gilles noted, "We need more and more demons to deal with Caster so that I can supplant him in this war."

Gula chuckled. No matter how many children the infamous Bluebeard killed, the demons they were sacrificed for could never be enough to deal with an obvious overlord. But that was the nature of gluttony, the sin he represented. Gluttony related to the overconsumption of anything. Food, yes, but also fortune, sex, drugs, and in Gilles's case, murder for resources. It was why Gula was indulging in a feast but leaving much of it uneaten and unavailable to their captives.

"By now we'll have gotten his attention," Gula noted, "We just need to wait for his next move." That's when a dark portal appeared in the cell the children were locked in. "This way out kids!," came a young man's voice, "Unless you wanna stick around and get killed!" The kids didn't need any further prompting as they rushed into the portal. As the last one left, a loud, booming voice declared, "Gilles de Rais! Come face me, and let us see who the superior Caster is!"

Gilles scoffed. "He caught us unawares. No matter. I collected enough resources for my ultimate spell." He picked up his spellbook and left the warehouse where they made their base. Once he was gone, Gula spotted a new figure enter the portal into the cell. It was Ryuunosuke. "Pretty dick move swiping my family's spellbook," he said as he raised his hand. To Gula's shock, some of the blood left from Gilles's experiments lifted into the air and shot at Ryuunosuke, breaking the lock to the cell and letting him exit as the Gate disappeared.

Gilles spotted Caster just outside the warehouse. "So you are the one summoned to be Caster in the war," Gilles noted, "Though I'm not familiar with the legend you are from." "I'm hardly surprised," Caster admitted, "For my story has yet to be told in the annals of history. You, however, are quite infamous. I find it ironic that, as a Heroic Spirit, you've become the very monster history once said you were. The original Gilles de Rais was confirmed to have been framed for his supposed child murders by English nobles who wanted his land."

Caster lifted his scepter and caused a large monument with a large metal door to appear and open. "The eldritch horrors you crafted were paid for with the lives of dozens," he said, "Whilst my mighty guardians were literally crafted from ones and zeroes. The hard work and detail brought about not just by me, but my fellow guildmates. Now face the might... Of the Great Tomb of Nazarick!" The doors of the monument swung open wide, revealing a portal within it. And from it emerged several figures.

There was the armored succubus Albedo, the lolita vampire Shalltear Bloodfallen, the well-dressed demon Demiurge, the humanoid insect Cocytus, the dark elf twins Aura Bella Fiora and Mare Bello Fiore, and the dragonoid butler Sebas Tian. There was also the six battles maids known as the Pleiades, dullahan Yuri Alpha, werewolf Lupusregina Beta, doppelganger Narberal Gamma, android CZ2128 Delta, shoggoth Solution Epsilon, and arachne Entoma Vasilissa Zeta.

These mighty warriors rushed out and started doing battle with the eldritch creatures Gilles summoned, and doing rather well. Gilles grimaced. "I still have an ace up my sleeve!" Prelati's Spellbook glowed and a giant creature was summoned. Gilles cackled. "This creature is immortal! Able to regenerate if even a small portion of it remains!" Caster gave a dismissive grunt. "I've more than a few options to deal with it, but you are not the true target here."

Gilles looked surprised. "That spellbook is the only reason you even barely qualify for the Caster class," Caster clarified, "I can think of several notable spellcasters, wizards, and occultists that would be a better fit. Medea, Merlin, Circe, Hecate, Morgan la Fay, Alistair Crowley. Even a simple illusionist like Harry Houdini or a great inventor like Thomas Edison can perform greater magic than you as a Heroic Spirit. And if they can defeat you..." His eye-sockets glowed like embers. "Than I have little to fear." He held out his palm, revealing a glowing ball of light. Gilles recognized it at once. "Where did you get that much mana...?"

"A gift from my Master," Caster explained, "It will fuel a mighty facet of one of my greatest Noble Phantasms... Super-Tier Magic. A series of spells so potent, they cannot be classified under my Dark Wisdom. He put all his will into one of his Command Seals to grant me this boon, something your own Master could have done to help you fuel your ultimate beast. This is the difference between our temperaments. You seek the path of excess, while I chose to more carefully levy my resources."

He held out the mana sphere and concentrated, creating a magic array around himself. "Now... Ia Shub-Niggurath!" The sphere was consumed by a dark essence that lifted into the air and started to expand. "As I suspected," Caster said, "The Goddess of Dark Fertility will accept this large amount of mana without needing to sacrifice so many innocent lives. I could have used this to sacrifice a great number of people, but I prefer to do that in open war, where it can kill two birds with one stone." He chuckled. "But perhaps this is the benefit of becoming a Heroic Spirit..."

The sphere expanded and expelled a four legged creature who's torso was nothing but mouths and tentacles. Having summoned more indescribable horrors himself, Gilles was unfazed by its appearance, but the energy coming off it did make him frightened. "What... What is that...?" "That," Caster explained, "Is one of the Thousand Young of the Goddess of Dark Fertility." The Dark Young slammed against Gilles's immortal beast, bleating like a goat as it did.

"Simplistic in its thought pattern and attack strategy," Caster admitted, "But it more than makes up for it with size and strength. I'd wager it could knock down a modern skyscraper as casually as a regular human knocking over a stack of cans accidentally." Gilles grumbled, before causing an energy ray to emerge from the spellbook. "Greater Magic Shield!," Caster called out, the sudden magic barrier easily reflecting the attack. "A good try," Caster admitted, "And the spell is strong enough to overcome my High-Tier Magical Nullification. But I always keep a few defensive spells on hand for such emergencies." He chuckled as Gilles could only watch as his monsters were getting decimated.

Meanwhile, Ryuunosuke kept dodging around while Gula tried striking at him with a large golden fork designed to hold meat in place while it was being carved. All the while tendrils of blood whipped about the room, lashing out and striking Gula, letting more blood flow. "How is this possible!?," Gula demanded, "Our observations showed us you knew no magic!" "Probably should have kept on eye on me," Ryuunosuke said, "See, I was a little concerned that if I couldn't keep up with the other Masters in terms of magical prowess, I might not last long."

He chuckled. "Now, Caster can easily launch spells, but he doesn't know the method behind how they work, so he couldn't really teach me. But luckily, his little vampire mistress has knowledge of hemomancy, so Caster had her give me a few lessons. Thanks to that, I'm officially the first mage of the Uryuu family in almost two-hundred years." Gula then noticed the Command Seals on Ryuunosuke hand, and spotted one missing. He then heard the loud bleating of a goat outside, which caused Ryuunosuke to smile.

"Looks like our gambit worked," Ryuunosuke said, "Which means it's time to stop playing around..." He dropped his smile and held out his arm, drawing in more blood to craft a large katana. Taking it in his hands, he rushed at Gula, who tried to attack. But his weight finally proved his undoing, and Ryuunosuke planted his blood blade right between the cultist's ribs. "Now to see if our other gambit pays off," Ryuunosuke said. Gula started chocking on his blood as the life seeping out of his body, making a large thud as he hit the floor.

Gilles gasped as he felt the connection vanish. "Judging by your sudden fear," Caster said, "I'd say Ryuunosuke has succeeded in killing your false Master. In that case, I no longer need to hold your monsters at bay. Guardians! Return to Nazarick!" The various warriors returned to the monument without complaint. Caster then turned his attention to the Dark Young. "You should also return to your mother. All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, but children can't play outside forever." The Dark Young gave one last bleat as it disappeared.

As the various monsters approached Caster, he gave a chuckle. "Aura of Despair... Fifth Tier!" To Gilles's horror, a giant wave of darkness emanated from Caster, bypassing the horrors' regeneration and killing them outright. Fortunately for Gilles, he was well outside the spell's area of effect. Caster then turned his attention to the larger monster. "Rather impressive that it was able to resist an instant death curse. No matter, I have a different fate in mind for such a horrendous being." He pointed to the creature. "Black Hole!"

Gilles became gobsmacked as his immortal monster was sucked into a singularity, leaving nothing left to regenerate from. "What... What are you...?" Caster chuckled darkly. "I am Death, come to claim you once more. I would suggest you seek God's forgiveness and pray to him once again. After all, he can hardly be blamed for Jeanne d'Arc's fate when one of the crimes she was accused of, in addition to witchcraft, was cross-dressing." Gilles looked surprised. "Wait... They tacked that on there? That's just stupid."

Caster laughed. "I think you can understand now. That just because Man makes claims of God's judgement, doesn't mean God condones his actions. A shame you have learned this far too late... Grasp Heart!" A beating heart appeared in Caster's hand, which he squeezed until it exploded, causing Gilles to drop to the ground, dead. Ryuunosuke arrived as Dark Caster's body dissipated. "Looks like we won this fight." "Now we just have to hope Assassin's theory is correct," Caster noted, "In the meantime, we have a reward to collect." The two of them walked off, heading for the church.

To be continued...

It's A Real Thing! Taiga Dojo Preview!

"And the Sorcerer King reigns supreme!," Taiga said excitedly. "And he dealt with that creepy Bluebeard in epic style," Illya noted, "But Ainz brought up a good point. The real Gilles de Rais wasn't nearly so malicious. Yet this Heroic Spirit did embody the legend. Why is that?" "Heck if I know," Taiga said, "It's not like I'm a mage or anything. That'd be more something you'd know." Illya shrugged. "I never got to learn much about how the Grail system works. But for now, how about we introduce our new Assassin. The famous phantom thief Joker, Ren Amamiya!"

Ren dropped down from the ceiling, right in between the two girls. "Hey there. Hope you don't mind my entrance." "Eh, you only startled us a little," Taiga assured him, "By the way, this isn't the first time you've showed up in mtnetsurfer's fanfics, right?" "Yep," Ren said, "I also featured in The Nine Phantom Thieves. But there I used the name I was given in the manga, Akira Kurusu, because at the time the fanfic started my more canon name from the anime hadn't been determined." "Kinda like the other Persona protagonists," Taiga noted, "Well, we're running out of time here. Check out the next chapter, Meaning of Assassin!"

And with that, the first Dark Servant is dealt with. It may seem anti-climactic, but like Ainz said, Gilles only barely qualifies for the Caster class. I also hope you like my little nod to Fate/Stay night with Ainz mentioning Medea. Read and review.
