Chapter 13
Danny turned over in the sheets. He glanced at the clock at the foot of the bed he was in and saw it say 23:07. Late for where he was but only five in the afternoon back home. The boy sighed before sitting up. He threw the blanket off and got out of bed. Standing in just his boxers he walked over to the window and looked up to see the stars from a new angle.
He quickly got dressed back in his jeans and t-shirt, out of habit he shoved his phone in his pocket and transformed before flying out of the room. The cool night air refreshing as Danny floated north easterly. He wanted to see everything he'd missed from going through the sewers. With the air pushing his hair back, he closed his eyes and let the feeling of weightlessness wash over him. A smile appeared on his face before he opened his eyes to go back to watching the world below him. To his surprise he saw someone running in the same direction he was going. He floated down, just curious who would be out for a jog this late in the night to see it was Yumi.
"You wanna lift?" Danny asked, still not sure where he stood with the girl.
Yumi turned to her left, surprise on her face as she continued running. "There you are!" she exclaimed. Watching him fly beside her.
Danny went ahead and grabbed her arm before sending his power of flight to her as she lifted off the ground.
"To the factory." Yumi ordered, taking the ride. "Xana just launched an attack on Amity Park."
Danny's face drained of the remaining color as he asked, "What's he doing?"
"I don't know." Yumi admitted.
Danny put on a burst of speed, holding tighter to Yumi as he quickly flew them through the factory, landing the two in the lab.
"Oh, you found him." Aelita said, seeing the two out of the corner of her eye as Danny transformed back to his human self.
"What's happening?" Danny asked, worried for his friends and family. The two walked over to behind the chair to see Jeremie's face on the screen.
"Well, good news." Jeremie started, seeing the three. "I figured out how to bring you back. Bad news, Xana's possessed your parents."
"Let's stop Xana first." Aelita said, turning to look at Danny at her side. "If we destroy the super computer, that'll free your parents. Then we'll send you back."
Danny nodded his head, determined to save his parents.
"Good luck. We're doing what we can to keep the Fentons in the house." Jeremie said before ending the call.
"Hopefully my plan works." Aelita mumbled, typing away. "Go ahead to the scanner room, I think I can remotely drive the Skid from here."
Yumi led Danny over to the elevator and the two went down a floor. They both took their own scanner as Aelita stared up the process.
"Scanner Yumi. Scanner Danny. Transfer Yumi. Transfer Danny. Virtualization." Aelita said, watching their cards fill up at her command.
Danny's instincts took over as he found himself falling in a blue dome with the eye of Xana on the floor. He floated as beside him Yumi landed on her feet.
"Come on, the skid's this way." Yumi said as the boy landed on his feet. The two rushed through the newly formed hallway and entered a room with an open doorway on the other end.
"Look out, creepers on your left." Aelita called out
"Creepers?" Danny asked, looking in that direction only to see two creatures pulling themselves forwards with their front legs.
Yumi whipped out her fan and quickly deflected three lasers, using one to kill the creeper that shot it. "Let's keep moving. They're not in our way." Yumi ordered, keeping her fans out in case of another shot.
Danny quickly ducked to the right as another laser flew by his head, almost nicking his protective eye wear. He quickly fired off an ecto-blast, hitting the creeper in it's eye, the blast destroying it into pixals.
The two made it through the door to find themselves on a platform on the inside of a bigger dome. A moving platform stopped on their level, getting Yumi to lead Danny onto it. The two road it up and around the north pole of sector five, getting off and going over to the five teleportation circles.
"Embark." Aelita said, sending her friends into the Skid. "Hang on, I don't know how smooth this will be."
"Hang on to what?" Danny asked, feeling around for seat belts as he stood with gravity pushing him backwards into the reclined chair.
The magnets let of the Skid before the ship started to move upwards. Before too long and without any problems, Aelita had the ship sailing through the networks.
"Whoa." Danny said, finally taking in the view.
"What, didn't really look last time?" Yumi asked through the intercom.
"No, not really." Danny admitted. "I thought cyberspace would be more space-like and not sea-like."
"Look down and it looks like a city." Yumi said.
Danny did so, looking up from his Nav Skid, to see lights on the sides of towers that made it all look like a busy city.
"Five sharks coming up on the port side." Aelita called out. "Deploying Nav Skids in three, two, one."
Before Danny could protest, the chair pushed himself into a sitting position before disconnecting from the main ship. He glanced at the controls and realized they were a simplex version of a plane's controls. "Some instructions would be nice." Danny said, rightening himself before flying over to where Yumi was fighting.
"Half squeeze of the trigger activates targeting, full squeeze is a laser." Yumi said as she blew up a shark. "To your right is your torpedoes, to your left is how to dock with the Skid. Do not get those two confused."
"Can't I go out and blast them myself?" Danny asked, struggling to target one close to him. He rolled out of the way to avoid a blast only to miss shooting the shark. "It'd be easier."
"Not unless you wanna be permanently deleted." Aelita informed. "Xana may have figured out how to keep his monsters safe, but we haven't."
"Danny, left!" Yumi called out.
Danny quickly glanced over to his left to see a shark about to ram him. He quickly shot himself backwards, glad the shark decided to follow him. He quickly shot the shark to pixels before stopping his movement.
"Wow." Yumi congratulated as Danny watched her take out the last shark. "Nice flying."
"Come on you two, the replica's only a few minutes away." Aelita said, waiting for the two to re-dock.

Tucker dived behind the sofa with a trail of electricity following him. He looked towards Ulrich who had also hunkered there to get a breather and said, "Mr. F's never been able to shoot this well!"
"He's shooting lightning out of his hand and that's what you're saying?" Ulrich asked, surprised.
Tucker shrugged only to look up as the sofa was picked up and thrown to the stairs. "So much for that." Tucker said, following Ulrich out of the way of the possessed man's rage.
"Found it!" Sam cried out, rushing into the living room with a rifle in her hands. She quickly put the butt to her shoulder and shot at Jack, sending a strand of green goop at his waist.
Jack looked down at the goop making a belt around him before growling at Sam. She sent off two more streams of goop, catching his hands and feet together.
"What was that?" Ulrich asked, deeming it safe enough to get to his feet. He eyed Jack as Xana with in him fought the bonds holding his hands and feet together.
"Fenton Ghost Goop." Sam said, "Where's Mrs. Fenton?"
Behind them a crash got their attention.
"Odd! Be careful!" Jazz cried out.
The three turned around to see Odd and Maddie locked together in a tussle on the broken kitchen table with ceiling debris all around them. Through the hole in the ceiling, Jazz looked down.
"She's not really giving me much of a choice." Odd called out, finding his hands locked in the woman's grip. He stared into Xana's eyes in fear of what was to come only for green goop to be shot at her face. Odd quickly used the distraction to jump away from her only to rip the goop away and back where it had come from.
Sam looked in surprise at the barrel of the rifle, not sure how to get the goop off.
Maddie fazed into a standing position, energy crackling in her hands as she smiled at the teens around her.
"Uh, Jeremie, how close to destroying the supercomputer are they?" Jazz asked, retreating into Danny's room.
"They just got into the Guys in White's building."
