Dancing with Dragons Chapter 13

A/N: So what do you guys think of Brylie being in Ravenclaw and Ron staying in Gryffindor? I thought it'd be a nice touch to make them mates but with their own identities. Theme song for this chapter is Rock N Roll by Avril Lavigne. Enjoy-MoonlitShadow

As soon as Brylie sat down at the Ravenclaw table she was overwhelmed with the welcome that her house presented her with. She found that she was immediately drawn to one end of the table where three curious looking individuals sat. One boy and two girls with punkish/goth looks stared straight at her and gave her a vibe of home as they smiled and waved her over.

"Hey girl hey. Welcome to the coolest house in this bloody school."

One of the girls exclaimed as she and the others flashed their eyes making Brylie's own eyes widen at the realization that they too were all veelas.

"Veelas?! I thought Ron and I were the only ones…"

She murmured as they all shook their heads and grinned.

"Nope. You're not alone. Not anymore."

The boy said quietly as he then went back to hiding behind his long, straight purple and blue hair.

His charcoal lined eyes and ripped up t shirt along with his black Tripp pants made her realized that she was among kindred spirits. The two girls were as sight to see as well. One girl had platinum blonde locks that looked rather haunting in the candlelight as well as a dark blue painted smile with charcoal surrounding her own blue orbs.

She wore a long white dress with blue floral patterns on the bustier top and a matching elegant hat. The other girl had her arm around the blonde's shoulders and had lovely cocoa colored skin and bright grey eyes. Her hair was in dreadlocks and shaved to one side and the black leather jacket that she wore shone along with the multitude of piercings that she had on her.

"I'm Lottie. And this is my mate, Nevaeh. And that is our bestie, Kodie."

The blonde explained as Brylie nodded in friendly greeting.

"I'm sure this is the start of something beautiful."

Kodie murmured as he began drawing in a sketchbook that was laid to the side of his dinner plate. Lottie shrugged and Nevaeh nodded in agreement before giving Brylie a knowing look.

"He doesn't say much. But when he does it usually comes out as something like that."

Brylie found herself intrigued by her new friends and found that comfort and safety radiated throughout the place wherever they were. Brushing a piece of her own long colored locks out of her face, she glanced over at the Gryffindor table and was delighted to see that her mate also seemed to have relaxed into their new environment and was happily chattering away with his own friends.

As soon as dinner was over, the prefects began leading the different houses out of the room but Brylie was stopped her mate who took her into his arms protectively.

"Rather dashing isn't he?"

Lottie cooed as Nevaeh made kissing noises and Kodie laughed quietly.

Ron quirked an eyebrow down at his mate then looked over at the others before giving them a slightly embarrassed smile.

"Uh. Thanks. I guess."

He murmured as he ducked his head down into her hair and sniffed possessively.

"Veelas. Really love, you had to find the rest of the veela population, did you?"

He chuckled as she nodded into his warm embrace.

"Do you not like them?"

she asked hesitantly locking her eyes with his.

Ron pulled back and glanced back over where his mate's new friends were leaving the room and then back down at his mate who looked up at him questioningly.

"I like them a lot actually. I'd rather you be around our own kind anyways."

He said simply making her smile brilliantly. Leaning down, he placed a sweet kiss on her lips before someone clearing their throat loudly behind them made them pull reluctantly apart. They both turned to see Professor McGonagall standing with her hands clasped in front of her and a smirk placed firmly on her features.

"Glad to see you are happy with your new arrangements, Mr. and Mrs. Weasley. I figured I'd take the time to explain how being a mated Veela pair works at Hogwarts and how it's going to differ from the rest of the school population."

She said as she looked between the mates with a knowing look.

"Please, do take a seat."

She said as she gestured to one of the many long tables. Ron took Brylie's hand in his own and led her to sit beside him while Minerva sat in front of them.

"Well, as you both know I'm sure is that veela mates often have trouble spending time away from one another especially at the beginning of their union. But also, as a school we like to celebrate each student's individuality whether their mated or not. So, because of this, you two will definitely be rooming separately in your own house dormitories but because of your unique status here at school we will offer you the chance to access what has been secretly dubbed as the "Veela Quarters" Which is a special wing of the school that's separated from the rest where mated and eventually married Veela pairs can enjoy spending time with one another and other veela pairs in the comfort and privacy of their own separate apartment style living areas. Before you two are married, you will be living mostly separately in your own house dorms. But once you two are married and have children, you will be permanently moved to the "Veela Quarters" to continue your stay here at school. Does this sound like a suitable arrangement to you both?"

Ron let out a relieved sigh as Brylie smiled brightly at their professor.

"Sounds good to us, Professor."

She said as Ron nodded in agreement.

"Good. Now I'll let you two get settled in your separate dorms. Mrs. Weasley, your new friends Nevaeh and Lottie will probably be of great assistance to you when it comes to finding where the Veela Quarters are located. Do let them know to show you and Ron where they are and to help you both get settled after classes end tomorrow."

She said as Brylie nodded and took Ron's hand.

"Goodnight to you both. Please know that Hogwarts supports you and your union."

She said as Brylie and Ron smiled gratefully.

"Thank you, Professor. Goodnight."

Ron murmured as he led his mate out of the room and into the darkened halls.

"So, what do you think of our new living arrangements?"

Brylie asked as they made their way towards the stairs. Ron shrugged and gave her a reassuring smile.

"I think it's brilliant. We should be very comfortable. But until later my little mate, I believe this is goodnight."

Brylie made happy noises as Ron pulled her close at the base of the stairs that separated the ways to each house common room and kissed him hard on the lips, relishing in the way he tasted and felt.

"Goodnight, love. See you soon."

She cooed as she ran a hand down her mate's face in a soothing gesture.

Ron reluctantly allowed her to pull back and step away from him making his heart and lower regions slightly ache with need.

He watched as she turned and made her way up the stairs and towards the common room that her new friends had told her about. He stood still and waited until the last of her small form disappeared up the stairs.

He smiled in the dim candlelight knowing that he was a lucky mate and then gave a loud yawn as he headed towards his own dormitories. Life was good. And it was about to get even bloody better.
