Everyone was in an uproar about today's upcoming Quidditch match especially the Slytherins. They were all so determined to crush the Ravenclaws; the entire team got up at 4 am to practice.

Hermione however found it astonishing that someone could love a sport so much. But then again it wasn't any different to stay up until 3 am reading.

Hermione sat alone at the Griffindor table during breakfast. Two people appeared before her: Ron and Harry.

"Hey 'Mione, can we sit with you?" Ron asked timidly.

She nodded, not sure what exactly to expect from the two. Then again the past month had been as crazy turn of events, so it was almost safe to say anything was possible. After sitting there for a moment, it was Harry who spoke next.

"Hermione, we are really sorry for being such gits these past couple of days. I know we don't deserve it but, is there anyway you could forgive us?"

She looked at them, astonished. "Of course I can forgive you too!" She said standing up and pulling them into a giant bear hug.

"Merlin, I've missed you two!"

"We've missed you too, Hermione!"

The trio sat back down and a smile graced Hermione's lips for the first time since they had fought. She was overjoyed to have her two best mates back. She couldn't stand the thought of losing theses two.

They had been enjoying each other's company like old times with Ron stuffing his face, when Harry said something.

"He makes you happy doesn't he?"

Hermione looked up confused, "Who"

"The ferr-," Hermione glared at him with her best Molly Weasley impression, cutting him off mid sentence.

"I mean Mal- Draco," he said, Draco's first name feeling foreign on his tongue.

Hermione looked at her raven-haired best friend with a soft expression. She knew he was trying his hardest to make sense of the situation.

"Yes, he really does."

Ron looked at her with mild disgust. But Hermione continued, ignoring her ginger friend.

"He has really changed since Lucius got sent to Azkaban. He is like a new person almost"

"If he truly makes you happy, then I suppose we can be okay with it." Harry said nudging Ron.

" Uh yeah, were happy for you 'Mione."

She smiled as Harry continued.

"I feel bad for the bloke."

"Why is that?" Hermione asked puzzled

"Because Lucius seems like a terrible father, I mean I wouldn't be surprised if he even used Crucio on him.

"I say we should go down to the Quidditch Pitch before it gets too full. I want to get decent seats for once." Hermione said hurriedly, attempting to change the subject.

The boys nodded, Ron showing food in his face as if he would never see it again.

The air was quite warm for the spring season. Hermione only needed a light jacket to keep a comfortable temperature.

"Captains shake hands," Madam Hooch said, "Mount your brooms. On the whistle…three…two…one."

The Quidditch players kicked off from the ground and flew into the blue sky.

"The Slytherins are flying down the pitch toward the Ravenclaw's goal, but Page stops it." Luna Lovegood's sing- song voice said over the loud speaker.

Luna commentated as the game progressed. Hermione viewed Luna as a very valuable friend. She was always there to talk to if you ever needed help. She might have been a little strange, but then again aren't we all?

The game went on for 5 more minuets until the Slytherins finally scored.

"The Slytherins are in the lead with 10-5."

"I think Malfoy of Slytherin has spotted the Golden Snitch!" she said dreamily.

Hermione looked across the pitch to see him streaking towards the side. He was going so fast he was an emerald streak in the bright day. The crowd was cheering for both of the Seekers to catch the snitch. Malfoy was significantly ahead of the Ravenclaw seeker who was Cho Chang. They sped around the pitch in nauseating circles. Hermione was beginning to doubt there was even a Snitch. But lo and behold she saw a brief streak of gold race by. There it was!

Malfoy and Chang nose-dived simultaneously to follow it. Malfoy stuck his hand out and wiggled his fingers trying to get a grip on the fast golden orb. Cho knocked into the side of him attempting to throw him off balance. Malfoy however, recovered quickly and took the lead once more.

All of a sudden, seemingly out of nowhere a rogue Bludger came speeding towards him as his fingers closed around the Snitch. The Bludger smashed into his side and knocked him off of his broom, sending him plummeting to the ground at thirty feet. Hermione gave a strangled cry as he hit the ground. Time seemed to stand still in that moment as she stared in horror at the event unfolding before her. She clasped a hand over her mouth muffling a strangled cry she had emitted. She wanted to close her eyes so she didn't have to watch, but she couldn't help herself.

The Pitch went dead silent. No one moved. Hermione stood there with her mouth wide open as she stared at her boyfriend's crumpled body lying on the ground.

He wasn't moving. This broke her out of her reverie and she ran down the stairs of the stadium to where he lay. He still wasn't moving.

"Draco!"

Silence.

"Draco!" she tried again.

More silence.

The blood was roaring in her ears, which made it almost impossible to hear anything. Despite it, she put her ear to his chest and her worst fears were fulfilled.

Nothing.

Tears were streaming down her face as she sobbed by his side. Madam Hooch came running to his side almost immediately. She too put her ear to Draco's chest.

"He has a heartbeat, but its faint. Granger, Chang, get him to the Infirmary as quickly as you can."
