13. Chapter 13

Wolf Princess Chapter 13

As soon as the two of us had left the Headmasters Office Remus began to walk swiftly down the hallway from the stone gargoyle at its entrance.

I stretched my legs and sped up myself in order to keep pace with him.

"Where are we going first," I asked. "I suppose we'll be going to your rooms."

"I will, but you won't," said Remus.

Confused, I said "What do you mean? Who's going to show me around the place?"

My bafflement and intrigue only seemed to grow when a large grin appeared on Remus's face.

Remus said "You'll see. It's a surprise."

I wanted to question him further about it, but kept my silence. For a few minutes the two of us moved through the maze of hallways with Remus in the lead. Even though Remus said eh wasn't going to be my guide he did point out some places as we passed them. They were a couple of classrooms and a large courtyard where Remus pointed out is a large fountain along with a handful of good sized trees and bushes in the same area. I had to admit that it did look quite lovely. I could probably find a comfortable place to sleep in one of those trees if I wanted to during my stay.

Eventually Remus and I stopped at a closed door which I assumed led to another separate classroom.

"This is it," said Remus.

"Is someone in there," I asked.

Remus didn't answer me, but I got my answer after he knocked on the door.

"Enter," said the rooms single occupant.

My eyes narrowed as I heard the voice of the person present inside. I could tell the owner of the voice was male just by listening to it. Also, the voice seemed somewhat familiar to my ears in a sense.

But it couldn't be him.

Could it?

Remus then opened the door and the two of us went along inside. I was quite surprised with what I found representing the décor.

The whole space was transformed to make look like the inside of the forest. There was even grass growing out from the floor and sunlight shining through the canopy of the trees. If I hadn't known where I was in the first place I would've presumed that I was back home in the forest.

My observations of the room were interrupted when I noticed a figure coming out from the shadows that were surrounding us. My eyes widened as the suspicions I carried were confirmed as the person made his way into the light.
