A/N: So I'm not giving people time to review in between writing chapters right now because I'm trying to catch up while I don't have inter net, so please R&R anyway. Here is another chapter of Night out. Don't worry, it's almost done. Only a couple more chaps, and then you guys won't have to read anymore…JK! I love you guys, and hopefully I'll do another Mavis/Rapunzel story soon. I'll take any request you have, but for now. Here it is. BTW it's Rapunzel's POV again because Mavis is passed out…
Night Out:
Chapter 13:
Rapunzel POV:
I looked up as the soldiers being led by Jack and Flynn neared. At first I was very frightened, wondering why soldiers were chasing my brother and Jack. But then I realized they were following them, not chasing them. After a mental sigh, I called to them.
"Jack! Flynn! Over here!" I waved my arm. I didn't know why I was directing them. We were obviously the only people on the street. At least that way, they knew I saw them. Dracula started to shrink in to the shadows, but didn't leave his daughter. He was trying not to be seen. Who could blame him, he was a vampire anyway. After a few eternity long seconds, they finally reached us.
"Rapunzel! We're glad to see you safe." Flynn panted, as they came to a stop. "We thought we wouldn't get here in time." I looked questioning at him. He hadn't seemed to notice the girl in my arms.
"In time for what, Flynn?" I finally asked, but it was Jack who answered.
"To make sure Gothel didn't find you. Glad to see we're here first." He smiled brightly, but they weren't early or even on time. They were last, and Mavis had been hurt.
"Do you not see Mavis? Does she look okay to you?" I said a little too angrily, but continued. "Mother Gothel is dead. She died with my magic. You'll find what remains in that alley. Luckily I was able to use the last of my magic to save Mavis' life. So who got here on time?" I spat out at Jack before looking back on the ground. I could almost feel the offensive anger coming off of Jack.
"Jack." I heard Flynn say quietly. I could almost see his head shake as Jack's threatening aura dissipated. "Rapunzel? We're sorry we're late, but we're still glad you're okay; and even more so that Mavis is going to be okay." I shrugged, showing that I was listening. "But there is something you need to know. Come with us, please."
I finally looked back to my brother, and nodded. But I still didn't let go off Mavis. Flynn sighed and picked her up. Dracula started to protest but I put up a hand to stop him and shake my head. I was trying to relay that she would be safe with him. He sat back down, so I believed he understood. I stood up and followed. "Where are we going?"
"To meet you parents, or rather your real parents. Don't worry about Mavis, she's going to be well looked after." Flynn stated as we walked along the streets. People watched us pass with strange expressions. I couldn't place and emotion.
""My Parents? How'd you tract them down?" I ask incredulously. I hadn't even known there was a way to track down my birth parents. Or if they were even alive. I honestly believe Gothel was capable of murder. She tried to kill at least two people in front of me.
"Well I knew pretty early on you were kidnapped, because I was myself. After Gothel killed my family. I was worried she'd done the same to yours" Flynn started. His story was pretty close to the heart, as all of them were. It was hard not to trust and believe him. "So I started asking around about a missing green-eyed blond girl. I looked everywhere and came up with nothing. That was until I saw this scruffy little orphan in a town near the edge of the country."
"That's where I come in." Jack interrupted, pushing himself between us. "His description rang deep in my memory, I I couldn't figure it out. So I went to the capital where I had lived with my parents before they died. It was then that I remembered where I had heard of missing green-eyed blond baby girl. Naturally I rushed back to the boy I heard it from and had him lead me to you. However, when I told people I had found you, they said I was lying."
"Jack had quite the reputation on him. People all over the country were soon tired of his tricks and stopped listening to him." Flynn continued. "So as the years went by, we had yet to find a way to make people believe us. Even after Jack died, we had a hard time convincing people. But I finally got through and your parents are anxiously awaiting your arrival."
I was so shocked by their words. They had worked tirelessly to find and tell my family, and I hadn't even bother to look. It brought tears to my eyes. How I was I so lucky to receive two friends like them. We stayed silent as we walked through a gate and up a mountain of stairs. When we finally reached the top, there stood a great tall set of double doors with a couple of guards like the ones we were traveling with.
"We'll go with the guards to take care of Mavis." Flynn stated after the long silence. "You go in there and meet your parents. I think you'll like them." With that he headed around the corner with Jack and the guards holding Mavis. The guards posted at the door opened and looked at me as if to give permission to enter.
Inside there was a Massive hall. Not just in width, but in height. There were a few columns to stabilize the ceiling in a way that made a path to the other side of the hall. At the far side there were two chairs that were too big for normal purposes. I then realized this was the throne room where the royals would greet their people.
In the middle stood two people, a man and a women, royally dressed. They both had brown hair and green eyes, just like my own. For when my hair was cut, it turned to a short brown mass on my head.
I nervously walked toward them, trying to hold back tears, knowing the truth. I stopped shortly in front of them so they could see me clearly. After a minute, the woman came over and lifted my chin. She smiled and looked back at the man. In just a few short seconds later. We were all in a massive hug, sitting on the floor.
No words had been needed. No explanations. We all knew that we had found who we were looking for. And we were all happy.
A/N: So here it is. Don't worry one more chapter left, maybe two if I feel like it, and then this'll be complete. I want to thank all my followers because I wouldn't have gotten far without your support.
