Woo here it is, chapter 13 is officially here and it's been a long time in the coming. Firstly I want to say a huge thank-you to every guest reader who has reviewed this story, I've never been able to get in touch with you so thank you to you all.

Secondly, I'm sorry it's been a few months since I updated this but I have been really busy (I know terrible excuse) but I am hoping (fingers crossed) to get this story completed by the end of the year, however to do this I have to update a least once a month to do so. I've yet to achieve this with any of my stories so we'll see how it goes.

Now enough of me yapping, because you didn't click on this story to listen to me!

Disclaimer: I don't own the Mighty Ducks or any of the characters.

Charlie and Julie

Why was algebra so difficult? Why in the world did she need to work out the square root of A and then find its simplest form? What was the point of this, who even created Algebra? Was it a secret agent spy who was on a mission and was speaking in code? Or was it a person who hated numbers but liked letters and decided to mix the two? Or was it a man with a sick sense of humour and now gets a kick out of watching teenagers of all ages struggle. All Julie knew was, she hated algebra.

From a young age she hated the topic, she liked multiplying and dividing, was fond of fractions and for some reason enjoyed moving a decimal point. But not algebra, she had spent many hours of her life listening to a teacher explain algebra in as many different forms but she still couldn't do it.

Throwing her book across her bed Julie closed her eyes. She'd had enough, there was no point stressing out over it, it wasn't going to happen. It had entertained her elder brother for years, he had the uncanny ability to understand algebra and she had, secretly, without either parent knowing, paid her brother to do her algebra homework for her.

Standing from her bed she walked to the refrigerator and grabbed a drink, taking a long sip she peered out of the curtains. The ground was coated in a thin layer of ice underneath blankets of snow. She had been tempted to grab her skates to just make it to her English literature class this morning, after slipping the day before. The air was bitter and with the conjoined effort from the wind made today exceptionally cold. Even though she was from Maine, and had lived with below freezing winters she had found the winter in Minnesota this year, to be far colder than she was used to.

Walking back to her bed she grabbed hold of her date's book and flipped the front cover. As she read each date, she highlighted the scores and on a spare page that would have remained unused wrote the scores and the names of whom had received them.

Adam 50,

Fulton 52,

Averman 43,

Guy 46,

Luis 56,

She was still surprised at how highly Luis had scored on his date, he had never come across as very romantic over all the years she'd known him. "Maybe he had help from his sister," Julie muttered as she continued to flip through the dates. She was one behind Connie, who had had her second date two days ago. She turned the next page and read the title: Charlie Conway.

She had yet to hear what he had planned but she was excited, Connie had raved over how good her date with Charlie had been for days, and now that hers was close she wondered if hers would match it.

Obviously it would be very different, Charlie and Connie had grown up together. They had shared so many memories that a trip down memory lane was so romantic and ingenious that she was surprised nobody had thought of it. However she had only known Charlie since the Goodwill days. There was nothing in Minnesota that reminded him of her, and yet she hoped it would be fun.

A soft knock at the door brings Julie out of her thoughts and she jumps off her bed and pulls it open.

"Afternoon," Charlie greets cheekily. He's leaning against the door frame with ease, a cheeky grin spread across his face. Cheeks are stained red, either from the cold outside or exertion.

"Hello," she said smiling. They continued to stand facing one another, Charlie's easy lean against the door starts to strain and Julie's grin starts to fade.

"Er, can I come in?" he suddenly asks, his right hand rubbing the back of his neck.

"Oh - sure - sorry, yeah just come right in." Great, nice way to make a fool of yourself Julie. She closes the door once he's in the room and sits down on the side of her bed. She pats the spot beside her and Charlie lowers his tall frame on to the bed.

"I'm afraid I haven't come here to relieve you of your boredom but I have come with a purpose," Julie rolls her eyes.

"Are you going to get on with it, or are you building yourself up to a spectacular ending?" Grinning cheekily at him it was now Charlie's turn to roll his eyes.

"I, unlike you, like spectacular endings, as well as spectacular slips like you had on the grounds yesterday." Groaning Julie laid back on the bed.

"I thought nobody saw that,"

"Afraid not, I was walking behind you and saw you slip. I was going to help you get back up but I was too busy laughing. I dived around the corner when you turned around to see if anyone had seen you."

Julie scowled, "What if I had died?"

"Oh stop being so dramatic," he laughed.

"What if I broke a bone, would you have continued to sit there laughing at me?"

"Only for a little bit, and then I'd come and get you but you were fine. You got back up quickly and you brushed yourself down and continued on your merry way to class, a wet arse and all." Using her hands to cover her face, Julie felt the heat rising in her cheeks. She was sure if she removed her hands she'd be bright red.

"Have you come here to pick on me or was there another reason?"

"Well I was hoping for a repeat of last time – ow!" Julie smacked him around the head, "but I see that's not going to happen so instead I was wondering if you would like to accompany me on a date, after class on Thursday? Let's say half past 5?"

"Half past 5 is fine, what should I wear?"

"Anything you want to wear really, clothing isn't all that important. I'll come by here to pick you up and then we'll go, it'll be a few hours I'm afraid it won't involve a meal but food will be available" Frowning Julie nods her head, why where clothes not important? It was the middle of winter for crying out loud would she need to wear heavy layers of wool to keep warm or would she just need a padded coat to shield her from the outdoors until they went inside.

"Have you a theme or a clue that I can have?"

"Just one thing I can say to really Jules and it's, just relax." Her frown deepens at his words, just relax? Surely when someone tells you to relax you shouldn't relax because whatever it is, is usually bad.

Charlie refuses to say anything else, his lips stay tightly shut and after a few minutes of trying to get him to talk she gives in. Thursday isn't too far away anyway.

XXXX

"So he what – just came in teased you a little and asked you if you were available on Thursday night for a date?" Julie nodded, it had been several hours since Charlie had left and Connie had arrived back a few minutes ago. "Did he say anything about the date?"

Julie then explains to Connie the details of the date. Connie listens patiently to the time, and instructions but interrupts her mid speech when she informs her of the clothing. "What do you mean clothing has little importance?"

"That's what I thought, I don't want to wrap myself up in several layers and get to whether we're going and have to remove them because I'm too warm."

"Wait, what if the clothes you are wearing won't be staying on. What if you are getting changed into something else?" explains Connie as she stares out of the window. Her hair is damp from the snow and it falls flat against her head.

"Maybe, I've no idea what it could be. He did give me a clue however," at this Connie turns her attention to Julie, eyebrows are high on her forehead as she listens to the clue. For a second she thinks about what she's heard and frowns.

"Just relax? That doesn't sound promising."

"That's what I thought," Julie falls on to her bed, and with her feet kicks her way up until she's leant against the ceiling.

The snow outside falls harder, snowflakes batter against the window from the force of the wind. She watches mesmerised as the snow twirls, dips and spins creating a pattern in the sky before it plummets south, covering the already frozen ground. In the distance she can see a group of younger students decked in their hats, scarves and gloves creating a snowman. A large ball of snow has already been rolled and a smaller one is being formed before her eyes. At the other end of the school seven or eight people are midway through a snow ball fight. From this high up she can't see their expressions but she watches anyway.

Winter had never been her favourite season, she preferred the light breeze and gentle heat of spring. In spring break she would visit her Aunt and Uncle's farm and would spend as long as she could watching the baby lambs hop around the meadows or the little chicks tweet and waddle after the hens. She would wander through the yard, climbing trees and plucking blossom watching as the petals floated softly to the ground. Daisy chains and dandelion head bands would be made for everyone in the family. Every Easter she'd participate in the annual egg basket creation with her mother. They had won it one year, the basket had been decorated in pink, yellow, and green with little daisies created from wood and painted. But her main reason for her love of spring was the end of winter, gone were the cold mornings and even colder nights, the snow had melted and leaves began to form. Yes, she loved spring because winter was another nine months away from appearing again.

Turning away from the window Julie reaches for her book, and begins to write down everything that happened between her and Charlie so far.

It's Tuesday today and a few hours ago Charlie invited me on to a date he informed me it would be the upcoming Thursday at half past 5. I asked a few questions such as what do I need to wear, and if there were any clues he could give me. He said the clothing didn't matter which confuses me because I don't know if I need to wear really warm clothes if we're outside all evening or just my coat because we'll be inside. Also his clue had been a simple, just relax. Which could be a play on words, a meaning or him telling me the date has something to do with relaxing. The only other thing I know is there'll be no meal just snacks.

XXXX

At precisely half past 5, on Thursday, Charlie knocks on the door.

"Connie will you get that please," Julie shouts from inside the bathroom.

Rolling her eyes Connie climbs off her bed and pulls open the door. Charlie stands outside wearing a pair of faded jeans, a warm winter jacket and a beanie on his dark hair. He greets Connie with a hug and steps inside.

"She'll just be a minute," Charlie nods his head and leans against the wall.

"Who is your next date with Con?"

"Adam, so hopefully it'll be a good one." Charlie nods his head and grins.

"It should be, he was telling me about it yesterday."

"I have high expectations for him really, after Adam though, I've Portman which could be very interesting to say the least." The two laughed, Portman had never been a romantic or all that creative since they had known him. Imagining him holding open a door without staring at a woman's behind or organising a firework display with strawberries dipped in chocolate was hard to imagine.

"Watch him take you out on the town, or to the cinema. He'll pay for all your drinks so you can get completely smashed and score him full marks because you can't remember what you did."

"God I hope not." Laughed Connie.

"Will Adam be your last date before Winter break or the first one when we come back in the New Year?"

Connie shrugs. "I don't know, he's not approached me yet so maybe it'll be after the New Year, if it is then he's the start of the second half of the dates."

"Second half?" Charlie says frowning, "how many have you been on?"

"Six, Adam will be my seventh so I'm already over half way. I've got five more dates to go on before we announce the winner."

"I'm going to win right?" he winked, a cheeky grin was already forming on his face, laughing at his face Connie just shrugged.

"Both scores are added together and the highest overall is the winner, second place will be the person who got the second highest combined and third will obviously be the third highest combined. If we have a tie then both win."

"What about a winner for the person in your group with the highest scored date, and one in Julie's as well?" Connie thinks for a minute and then nods, it was a good idea and it gave everyone else a chance in case they didn't win the combined idea.

"I guess it could work."

"It will, but I'm mostly looking forward to reading up on everyone's dates. I know of a few but I want to know how and why you scored them what you did and I want to know if I can steal the ideas for the future." Connie laughed and shook her head, only Charlie would think of that.

Julie stepped out of the bathroom frowning, she had missed the conversation between Connie and Charlie and had walked in while they were laughing. Before she could ask what they were talking about Charlie turned to face her.

"Are you ready?" he asks, a soft smile replacing the cheeky one from a minute ago.

"Yep, do I look alright?" A soft blush forming on her cheeks, she turned 360 and looked at them both. Connie sent her a wink and a thumbs up before she glanced at Charlie.

"Beautiful," he said quietly before standing from his bed and taking her hand. "Beautiful as always. We'll see you later Connie but we really have to go." Connie waved goodbye to them a huge grin was plastered on her face and Julie knew that she would be in for it when she returned that evening.

Outside the door, they walked down the corridors hand in hand, a comfortable silence settling around them. They quickly fastened their coats higher and stepped outside, the snow was heavy and fell, coating her blue coat quickly in white. Together they jogged to Charlie's car, careful not to slip to the floor in the process.

Her teeth chattered from the cold and her hair blew madly in the wind, it truly was a horrible day. Finally they reached Charlie's car, he quickly unlocked it and pulled open the door for her. She dived in to the passenger seat and he closed it shut. Sitting on her hands she shivered. Her toes were cold, and she could feel her damp hair sticking to the base of her neck, a shudder went through her body and she pulled her legs closer.

Charlie turned the car in to gear and turned on the heater, groaning as cold air shot out of the air vents he quickly turned it off. He switched on the head lights and began to drive out of the school grounds. "Once we get going I'll put the heater back on and it'll heat us up,"

"Okay, Charlie where are you taking me?"

"To the spa!" he said, and he pulls out on to the main road. The roads had been gritted and with the steady flow of traffic the snow had yet had a chance to take back its claim.

"I love the spa," Julie tells him as she stares at out of the window, "It's been such a long time since I went to one." Charlie grins beside her and he flicks on the radio. "What were you and Connie talking about before I came out of the bathroom?"

"These dates, I can't believe you're already over half way, it feels like only yesterday you set us this challenge. Have you enjoyed them?"

"I have actually. It's weird though, we've been a team for years and yet there are things about some of you that I don't even know, I've had a chance to learn and hang with some of the Ducks I only seem to hang with when in a group. I mean I got to meet Luis's sister on his date. A sister I've never met and I also learnt a few things I never knew." Charlie raised his eyebrow, silently asking her to elaborate. "Well did you know his grandmother was a professional Latin dancer and through his mother, he and his sister learnt to Salsa?"

"No, then again I can see Luis being a Salsa dancer," said Charlie laughing, "he always was a little flirty and he wiggles his hips better than any bloke I know," That was true, it was no secret to any of the Ducks that Luis was a natural mover, the man was quick on the ice and he had a natural grace that none of the others had.

He rounded the corner on to the main road and after 20 minutes of steady driving he indicated to his right and pulled into the carpark. Giddy with excitement, Julie pushed open her door and stepped out of the car, grabbing hold of the door tightly as her foot slipped. Stood still she releases the air in her lungs and straightens up.

"For a hockey player you are really unstable on ice," Charlie laughed reaching out to her take hand, holding firmly on to his hand she rounded the corner of the car and relaxed.

"Why do you think I'm the goalie," she tells him and he laughs.

"I thought you were the goalie because your brothers always put you in the goal," smiling Julie shrugs her shoulders.

"Well that too, but I quickly found I was more confident stood in a six by six area covered in padding than in the middle of the ice being chased by someone double my size." Charlie laughs a little more as he pushes open the main door. Warm air smacks them in the face as soon as they enter, the cold from outside quickly subsiding as the heat circles around them, warming them from the inside out. Their faces are the first to heat up followed by their hands, and then the rest of them.

Charlie approaches the counter and gives his name, the brunette receptionist smiles at him and hands him two pairs of keys, two pairs of slippers and two fluffy white robes. Julie takes the key handed to her and disappears around the left and quickly removes her coat and scarf followed quickly by her trainers, jeans and jumper. Standing in her underwear she shudders, it might be warm inside but it's still middle of December. Grabbing the white gown she quickly wraps it around her body, melting into the soft material. She slips her feet into the matching slippers and locks her locker, latching the key around her wrist.

She leaves the ladies changing room to see Charlie already waiting for her in his matching robe and slippers.

"You ready?"

"Yes, where we going first?"

"Well that's up to you. Do you want a facial, a massage, a pedicure or that seaweed wrap thing?"

"I really fancy a facial to be honest and then I want a pedicure," Charlie nods his head and links her arm with his and drags her (without much force) towards the facial station.

The spa isn't very busy, the snow outside has scared away majority of the customers and it leaves plenty of staff looking for a job. Julie approaches a middle age woman whose hair was slowly turning grey.

"What can I do for you dear?" Julie glances up to the board above their heads and skims over the different types, smells and textures until she settles on a simple cucumber scented clay mask. The lady takes her gently by the arm and walks her towards the chair.

Lowering into the chair she stares up at the ceiling, two large cracks spread across the left hand side before disappearing near the wall. The beautician mixes the mask behind her and places it on to the table beside her. She grabs a quick cream and applies it on to her hands before gently massaging her neck and jaw line. Julie sighs and closes her eyes allowing the beautician to sooth her skin with her hands.

"The clay is cold when it goes on." She informs Julie and she nods. She feels a towel been placed along her shoulders and then the first gloop of clay is smeared on to her cheeks. The drastic temperature from the beautician's warm hands to the cold of the mask has her tensing for a few seconds until she relaxes and lays peacefully on the bed.

A few minutes later she feels two slices of cucumber slip over her eyes and she's plunged into darkness.

"10 minutes and I'll remove it for you," she hears the beautician say. It's a weird feeling she thinks as she lays motionless on the bed, when one sense is taking from you her other sense become more prominent, she can hear things that she would have over looked before, the smell of cucumber from the mask seems stronger as she focuses on her breathing, the feel of the cushioned bed beneath her is smooth and cold. She lays silently and for the first time in weeks feels the stress from school, from hockey fade away.

After ten minutes the slices of cucumber over her eyes are removed and she scrunches her eyes as the light assaults them. Tightly shut she feels the dampness of a cloth slowly rub the clay off her face. Slowly she peels open one eye and then closes it again repeating the same action with her other eye. She blinks for a couple of times and then opens them both. The light is bearable but she glances around the room, beside her Charlie lays there his hands laid across his stomach as his own mask is removed from his face.

A few minutes later the mask is completely removed and the towel around her shoulders is used to dab her face. The beautician stands in front of her, scanning her face for any remaining clay. Happy that she's clean she hands Julie a mirror and she inspects her face. Instantly she can see a difference her face looks smoother and tighter and she can feel a difference, her pores have been cleansed and her skin feels soft to the touch.

Turning towards the beautician she thanks her for her work and climbs off the chair. Charlie winks at her from his position on the bed and she stands patiently as his is cleaned up.

"So where next?" he asks finally free of the face mask.

"Pedicure please,"

"Ok, did you enjoy that?" he asks taking her hand without realising it. They walk around the spa fingers laced together and their arms swinging gently.

"I loved it, it's nice to be pampered every now and again don't you think?"

"It was a weird feeling, didn't know what to make of it to start with but I can defiantly feel the benefits to it my face does feel better.

"Yeah, your skin looks better. It's taken away any dead skin and cleans the pores so it should reduce your spots." Julie explained just as they reach the area for feet. Again, several women stand around talking, nobody but Julie and Charlie are in the room and it's a strange feeling. Was the weather outside so bad that nobody would dare leave the comforts of their home?

"Hello there, how can we help you?" The beautician was tall and slender with her blonde hair in the tightest pony tail Julie had ever seen, it was so tight the woman's face was literally being pulled back, it was like an all in one face lift.

"I'm looking for a pedicure,"

"Excellent, if you want to come with me we can get you sorted out." Julie smiles at Charlie and follows the woman towards a row of seats lined across the far side of the room. Seated in the centre she grabs a large ring binder and hands it to Julie.

"We have all our designs, colours and styles in here. Are you after acrylics or just want them painted?"

"Erm just painted please," the beautician nods her head and grabs a foot spa from inside a cupboard. Beside her Charlie takes the vacant seat and the lady serving him goes to grab him a foot spa.

"What are you getting done?"

"This foot massage and scrub, chuff knows. I asked what she could recommend and this is it."

"Ah well, what colour do you think I should go for?" She asks as she flicks through the rows and rows of colours in several different shades. She hands Charlie the book and he flicks through it as their feet are lowered into the foot spas, almost instantly the water begins to heat and the bubbles begin to surface.

"Bubble-gum pink," he says as he hands back the binder, he points to the one he's picked and she instantly follows his finger. It's bright, very bright in deed but she likes it. Normally she only wears pale pastels but she likes the colour. She informs the beautician with her choice and she smiles before disappearing in a back room before returning with the colour.

After soaking their feet for 15 minutes, they are removed from the foot spa and placed on a buffet covered in a towel. A soft moisturiser is rubbed on to her feet and an oil is spread on each toenail. Her nails are cut and shaped and a base coat is applied. Beside her she watches Charlie's face. His eyes are closed and his hands grip the sides of the chair as he bites down on his lip.

A grin forms on her face, he's trying his hardest to not laugh but as the foot file scrubs across the base of his foot he can no longer hold it in and he burst out laughing. The woman doing his feet stops for a second, a smile is on her face and her eyes shine with amusement.

"Nearly everyone laughs when they get this done. Do you want me to continue?" Charlie nods his head, unable to speak without laughing again.

Glancing down at her toes she watches as her nails become coated in bright pink, it's the brightest colour she has ever had on her toes but she likes it. Her feet pop. A second layer is added followed by a top coat and a nail heater is held over her feet and it blows warm air directly on to her toes heating the varnish until it's dry. She sits there for another five minutes until she's given the all clear, she slips on her slippers and stretchers. She stares up at the clock on the wall; half past 7.

A second receipt is handed to Charlie as they leave the foot parlour. "I'm afraid we have to go back to the campus now," he tells her.

"That's fine, I've really enjoyed this evening." She tells him. They reach the changing rooms and they quickly change back in to their clothes and meet up near the reception.

Charlie hands over the two receipts grabs his wallet. "That'll be $120 please," Julie's eyes widen at the price but chooses to say nothing as Charlie hands over his card, a few seconds later the bill has been paid and they are wished a good evening.

The cold night air hits them and they pull their coats tighter around their bodies, the snow has finally stopped but the temperature is still below freezing. As she exhales Julie watches the cold take hold of her fleeing breath and freezes it in front of her, it turns into smoke before evaporating seconds later.

She's shivering as she reaches the car, her teeth chatter loudly and she's relieved to be out of the wind even if the car is just as cold. He blasts on the heater and she takes a deep breath as the cold air hits her face. Less than a minute later Charlie pulls out of the carpark, and is driving down the road back to campus.

"Glad it's Friday tomorrow, two days to sleep." Said Charlie.

"I know that feeling, do we have next Friday off as well or are we in class that day?"

"Erm – off I think. I think Portman heads back to Chicago on Friday evening as well."

"I go Sunday morning and I know Kenny is Saturday morning." Informs Julie. "I can't wait to get home to be honest, I just hope this snow doesn't mess my flight up."

"I can't wait for Christmas dinner, I was talking to some of the original Ducks and on Christmas Eve we're meeting up at the old District five pond and we're having a game. You doing anything over the holidays?"

"No not really, I'm spending time with the family for most of the holidays, and I'm going to see a show at the theatre as well. A pantomime my mum says it's called, it's really big in the UK. So hopefully that's good."

"I've never seen one, you'll have to let me know how it is."

Back at Eden Hall Charlie parks his car and he pulls open the door before sitting back in his seat. The wind lashes around the grounds and he quickly takes the door a second time and pushes it open, telling Julie to stay where she is, he jogs around the car; his hand on the bonnet at all times until he reaches her door. He takes the handle and pulls it open. He grips it tightly as the wind rocks around him.

Julie hurries out of the car and grabs her hair to stop it from whipping into her face. Charlie slams the door shut and together they jog back to the dorms. Once inside they relax and stare through the glass doors.

"I'll not miss this weather, it's bloody horrid this year," mutters Charlie as he runs his fingers through his wind swept hair.

"You and me both,"

They walk towards Julie's dorm, their cheeks are bright red and their hands are cold to the touch but as they stand beside her door they stop and face one another. He takes her cold hands into his and leans forward placing his chapped lips on to her rosy cheek. The warmth from his lips begin to warm her from the inside and a goofy smile appears on her face.

"Thanks for the really nice date Charlie,"

"Anytime Catlady." He winks a final time and steps back, walking down the corridor to his dorm. Stepping into her dorm she spots Connie stood in the middle of the room starring at the blank screen on the TV.

"What are you doing?" she asks slipping off her coat.

"Waiting for this stupid thing to turn back on,"

"No chance, it's a gale force winds out there, bloody horrible I tell you." She says as she grabs her hairbrush from her side table. Wincing as the bristles on the brush catch in the multiple knots.

"How was the date, what did you do?"

"He took me to the spa!" she squeals, "I had a facial and a pedicure. Loved it."

"Jealous, didn't think Charlie even knew what a spa was." Chuckling Connie suddenly clapped her hands together as the picture on the screen reappeared.

Shaking her head at Connie, Julie kicks off her trainers and flops on to the bed, she stretches down and pulls open the draw and grabs her book. Flickering back to the page she rereads what she wrote the other day and continues on from there.

Charlie arrived at my dorm at precisely 5.30, hand in hand we leave the dorm room and go outside, the snow outside was awful and he kept a tight hold of my hand. Upon reaching his car he pulled open my door and I climbed inside. Once we were on the road I asked Charlie exactly where we were going, he then informed me that we were going to the spa!

We finally reached the spa and like before he takes hold of my hand and doesn't let go until we are going into our separate changing rooms inside the spa. Once changed we head towards the facial section where I got a cucumber clay mask, I laid on the bed and just relaxed, it was the first time in a long time that I had felt at peace. The beautician wiped off the face mask and my face instantly felt and looked smoother, healthier. After we were both cleaned Charlie asked me what I wanted to do next. I decided on a pedicure next.

The spa was extremely quiet, when we entered the section for the pedicure there were no other customers in sight. A lady with the tightest ponytail known to man rubbed my feet, placed them in a bubbly spa bath and then painted my toe nails a bright pink colour chosen by Charlie. Normally I wouldn't go for bright colours but this time I did and I'm happy with the result. While I had a pedicure Charlie had a massage and scrub which involved a woman scrubbing the base of his feet with a file. It turns out that Charlie has sensitive and ticklish feet. He did well though, he managed a few minutes of teeth gritting, hand clenching torture until he couldn't hold it in any more and burst out laughing.

Once the pedicure and scrub had finished we changed back into our clothes and I met Charlie at the reception I was blown away with the amount he spent, a total of $120 was spent between us, he didn't even look at me at the price and just simply handed over his card like the price didn't shock him. He grabbed my hand once he'd paid and we left the spa, the snow had stopped but it was still bitterly cold so I was glad to be back in the car with the heater on. From the Spa to Eden Hall the wind picked up and he told me to stay in my seat as he got out of the car, walking cautiously around the bonnet he opened my door and together we headed back inside.

Back at my door he took hold of both my hands and pressed his lips on to my cheek and said goodbye.

I would rate Charlie on Romance as an 8: He held my hand a lot and the spa was a beautiful idea but it did lack intimacy. So to improve I'd recommend something where it would be just me and him in our bubble instead of separate.

I would rate Charlie on Creativity as an 8: The spa is a genius idea, it's got so many different treatments, specials and products. It's also a place I wouldn't have thought of. To improve I'd maybe add a little something extra to it, like a walk or even a ride in the car to see the Christmas lights on people's homes.

I would rate Charlie on Effort as a 6: Yes he drove me to the spa and yes he paid, and took me around the spa but he didn't put effort into booking anything or doing anything that just involved him. It's as though the idea just came to him out of know where. Also he mentioned snacks and there were no snacks. So that was a little let down.

I would rate Charlie on being a Gentleman: as a 10. Couldn't ask for anything better, he held my hand, kissed my cheek, paid for the spa date, opened and closed my car door. Complete gentleman.

I would rate the date: as an 8. Simply because the idea was great and he was a perfect gentleman. Charlie just missed out on executing little details that would have boosted up the grade.

Now the date is over I would rate how I feel: as a 9. Apart from the lack of effort on his part the date was a really enjoyable experience and I'd be happy to do it again tomorrow.

In total I will grade Charlie a total: of 49 out of 60.

Closing the book she places it beside her on the bed and turns to watch the movie Connie has on the TV. It was only one week till Christmas break and then she would have the interesting experience of a date with Dean Portman.

Just a couple of things...

1. I've never been to a spa so I've just made it up as I went along.

2. The scores and how the date actually goes isn't planned, the only thing that is, it the actual date in this case the spa idea.
