Chapter 13

~Kid~

Ghirahim and Kid appeared in front of the first temple in Eldin province. It was extremely warm there.

"Where are we?" Kid asked.

"Why would I tell you?" Ghirahim asked.

"Because deep down you're a nice person?"

"Nice try."

"It was, wasn't it?"

"No."

"Aw."

"Shut up."

"Maybe I don't wanna."

"Well, you're gonna."

"You can't make me."

"Don't be too confident."

"Whatever. Can you at least hold me by something else? A lot of blood's rushing to my head. It's giving me a headache. I'm tired. I'm thirsty. Can I eat something? Why is your hair white? Why do you like diamonds so much? Are you Emo? How would you go about getting a cape like that?"

"Do you ever shut up?"

"Nope. I'll just keep annoying you until you let me go."

"There won't be any slight chance I'd let you go."

"Oh, you will. One way or another." Kid touched his side. Ghirahim recognized this. Kid did the rest of the motion for Din's fire. Ghirahim dropped him. It was a fake out. Kid got up and started running as fast as he could. Ghirahim soon lost sight of him. Kid had run down the slope and didn't stop running, unknowing where he was going. He eventually found himself in an area that had a little mini volcano looking thing. He started walking toward it when a strange creature popped out of the ground. He screamed and fell back.

"Huh? Hey kid what are you doing around here? It isn't safe here for someone like you." The creature said.

"I don't know where to go. I'm so lost." Kid said. He was a bit shaky from that jump scare.

"That's to be expected. Where are you headed?"

"I'm… not really, sure… I just need to hide."

"You know what kid? You remind me of a friend of mine, so I'll help you out. In that area right there there's plenty of places for someone small like you to hide. First, you have to land safely at the bottom, then you have to climb up, then follow a path straight ahead. There you'll find a gas spout, go left down the path once you get up to the top and there should be little holes in the pillars that you can hide in."

"Thank you. If someone asks, don't tell them." Kid said.

"Alright." Kid ran over to the air geyser and floated up. He looked down. The drop was so far down, there would be no way he'd make it down alive… There's one thing he could do. He jumped off and managed to glide over to a small platform not too far from the top. He jumped to the next one and the next until he reached the bottom.

"Hope Ghirahim doesn't think I'm smart enough to do that." Kid thought to himself. He ran forward and followed the directions the creature told him. He found an area that had makeshift houses and what looked to be sand slides. He hid in one of the houses to rest.

~Twi and Sky~

It was really late at night. You could see most of the stars in the sky, as long as they aren't covered by clouds. Twi was sitting on the ledge separating the top level from the bottom. He was still wearing only his undershirt and pants. He was looking up at the sky. In a weird way, he missed seeing the clouds and sky of the Twilight. At least then, he knew he was home. I guess you could also say he also missed Midna. He had no idea where she had run off to. He really hoped she hadn't gone to find Kid.

"Thought you were out here." Twi turned around at Sky's voice. "You're kind of like me in that sense. When I have a lot on my mind, I just like to stare out at the sky." Sky was in a similar outfit to Twi's, but instead of a shirt, his stomach was wrapped with bandages. It was only a small wound, but Zelda was a bit over protective of him. He sat down next to Twi.

"I do. I just wonder how things are going to turn out. What if Ghirahim succeeds in resurrecting Demise?" Twi said.

"I'm not sure. We won't find out either, because we won't let Ghirahim win." Sky said.

"We can try."

"What else is on your mind?"

"I wonder about a lot of things that I can't get off my mind."

"Name one."

"I wonder where Midna went. It isn't like her to run off like that."

"I'm not sure where she's gone. I'm sure she'll be ok though."

"I am too, but, I still wish I knew. She could have at least told me."

"True. Though, you both need to go home sometime, so she'll have to come back safely."

"That's another thing I wonder. What's going on back home? We were about to go to a snowy mountain to find something. I rested on a branch of a tree and fell asleep. I wound up here somehow."

"I hope everything's ok there."

"Me too. Then I wonder how Jayk is doing. Who knows what's happening to him now that Ghirahim has him? I wish I knew where my sword was. It's a one of a kind sword that only the chosen Hero can wield. If I can't find it. I don't know how I can defeat Ganon or Zant."

"Ganon? Zant?"

"Kind of like your Demise and Ghirahim. Ganon is the ruthless tyrant who wants absolute power so he can take over the world. Zant is his servant. Midna and I are still under the thought that Zant can be spared. He's Midna's little brother. I don't want him to die. Family's family, no matter what."

"Wow. You want to save everyone, don't you?"

"Definitely. I'll help however I can and go above and beyond my limits to help those who need it."

"You're a tough kid. It's tough being who we are, we have to risk everything to keep the land safe. I'm glad you've stuck with it. It's sad to see some so young having to risk their lives like this. Jayk is so young, yet he had to risk his life for this work."

"Makes you wonder how many other young Links have gone through this… You know, come morning, I'm going to go find Jayk."

"I kind of expected. Maybe you should wait until you gain your strength back. You still can barely walk, your stance is so shaky. You would be killed by Ghirahim easily."

"Then what are we going to do? We can't let Jayk be sacrificed to a demon."

"No, we can't. That's why I'll go."

"Link, you're wounded still."

"It's just a small arrow wound. It's nothing compared to some I've had before. I'll be fine."

"In that case, do you think it'd be alright if I taught you some moves that I learned?"

"Sure. Let me go get my sword." Sky got up and went inside. He came back out with the Master Sword. Twi got up.

"May I see it real quick?"

"Sure." Twi grabbed the hilt of the sword and pulled it out.

"I'll show you the move Back Slice. It was taught to me by someone I only know as the Hero's Shade. He's a Stalfos warrior who's left handed like me and Jayk. You side step, roll forward, and then spiral around so you cut the enemy's back. Like this." Twi demonstrated, making sure not to actually hit Sky. "You try."

"Ok."

"Make sure you don't hit me though…"

"I'll try." Sky performed it well.

"Great. I'd teach you the Shield bash and the Helm Splitter, but you need a shield."

"I see. Maybe you can teach them to me sometime."

"Maybe. Make sure you're careful, ok?"

"I'll be sure of it. I have to protect the future. So they can exist."

~Kid~

He wasn't sure how long he's been hiding, but Kid thought he heard something. He got up and hid behind the makeshift house. He heard footsteps.

"Come out wherever you are, child." Kid help his breath, he tried to stay silent. Ghirahim came around the side of the house and saw him. "Found you. Now, come here." Kid ran the opposite way. He ran fast to one of the slides. He jumped down and started to slide to the bottom. He landed on a platform. He quickly ran to where he came in, only to find there was no exit. Ghirahim was coming toward him. "There's nowhere left for you to run, kid. Now just don't move. Ghirahim teleported away and came back behind him. Kid turned around, kicked Ghirahim in the crotch and ran for his life.

"I gotta find a way out of here. I can't let him get me. I'll be done for! So will the rest of the world! I can't let that happen." Kid made his way down the same path again and went inside one of those holes that that one creature was telling him about. He heard footsteps. They were getting closer. Kid felt scared. He held his breath, he then saw Ghirahim's feet walk past. After the footsteps disappeared, he released his breath. Then, Ghirahim's face suddenly appeared in front of the hole.

"Found you!" Kid yelled out in surprise. He went as far back as he could. Ghirahim tried reaching for him. "Come here, little brat." He couldn't reach him. His arms would get close, but not close enough. "Come on, come to Ghirahim. I won't hurt you."

"You think I'm an idiot just because I'm a kid? I would say I had ten times the intelligence than you, but even then I'd still be an idiot."

"I swear I'll kill you!"

"Didn't you just say you wouldn't hurt me?"

"Shut up!"

"You only say that because you know I'm right."

"I swear, if you don't come out of there right now, I'll go and kill both the sky child and the wolf boy."

"Then I'd just run off and escape. You wouldn't be able to find me then. What matters is what happens to the world. I know for a fact that they would rather die than let your so-called master control it." Ghirahim tried reaching further, but still couldn't grab him.

~Sky~

Sky made it safely to the surface. It was a large volcano area.

"Fi, are you sure this is the place?" Sky asked.

"Yes, Master Link, this is the place. You can use the sword to dowse for Jayk like you did for Zelda." Fi said.

"Ok." Sky pulled the Master Sword out of its sheath and closed his eyes. He focused and the sword started moving around. It pointed off somewhere. He opened his eyes. Sky took a deep breath and let it out. He started running. He eventually ran into the same creature Kid ran into.

"Hey, you're that one guy. Nice to see ya again." The mogma said.

"Hey. Nice to see you too. Listen, did you see a young boy come around here, wearing the same tunic?" Sky asked.

"Yea."

"Can you tell me where he went?"

"It's supposed to be a secret, but I know ya so I'll tell ya. He went to a mini volcano. Y'know, where we first met."

"Thank you. That'll help." Sky said. He walked around the mogma.

"You might want to hurry, I thought I saw someone go in there with a red cape." Sky's eyes widened. He started running quickly. He eventually found it and got in.

"Jayk! Are you here?" He looked around, no movement. He decided to press on. He thought he heard shouting, but couldn't make out any words. He followed it and saw Ghirahim.

"Come on you little brat!" Ghirahim said.

"No! Go away!" A small voice could be heard.

"That was Jayk's voice!" Sky thought. He ran forward without thinking and tackled Ghirahim. "Leave him alone!" Sky pinned Ghirahim down.

"Where the hell did you come from?" Ghirahim asked.

"Doesn't matter, you are not getting Jayk. I won't let you." Ghirahim kicked Sky in the stomach, getting him off. He pinned Sky down instead.

"You don't understand, Sky child. I need to resurrect my master. I may be the Demon Lord, but he is the demon king. This land needs a King."

"You're right, but it isn't going to be run by bastards like you. It needs a noble King. Though a Queen would suit best. Zelda will be the queen." Ghirahim punched him in the face. Sky tried reaching for the master sword, but Ghirahim had his wrists pinned.

"My Master will back a better ruler than the Spirit Maiden. You'd probably rule beside her. You're too weak to rule over the land."

"S-shut up! I've beaten you several times. I am not weak!" Sky kicked Ghirahim in the stomach, got up and drew the master sword. Ghirahim got up too. He summoned one of his sabers.

"You're no match for me, Sky child." Sky said nothing. Ghirahim charged at him, sword in hand. Sky ducked down and rolled behind him, then quickly got up while slashing and cut Ghirahim's back. Ghirahim fell down. Kid saw…

"Erryn used that move on me before… That's my move… how did he learn it?" Kid thought. Sky had gone for a final blow, but Ghirahim teleported away just as the sword came down. It was stuck in the ground. Ghirahim had appeared behind him. Kid got out of his hiding and ran up. He jumped onto Ghirahim's back and wrapped his arms tightly around Ghirahim's neck. Sky turned around and saw what was happening. "Link, I've got him. Get the sword free and stab him. Don't worry what happens to me." Ghirahim tried getting Kid off his back. Ghirahim had grabbed Kid's arm and threw him across the room just as Sky pulled the master sword out. Kid had hit a pillar.

"Jayk!" Sky spun around to try and get Ghirahim, but Ghirahim jumped back. Ghirahim stabbed his saber forward and got Sky right in the center of his chest. Sky's eyes widened. Kid had just gotten up and saw. Sky was losing strength fast, he lifted the master sword and stabbed Ghirahim right where his heart would be. It didn't seem to affect him much. Ghirahim pulled the sword out and stepped away from Sky. Sky's knees buckled and he fell down.

"Link no!" Kid got up and started running to him. Ghirahim caught him by his waist. "Let me go!" He held Kid like one would hold a toddler. "Link, stay strong! You have to live! The world needs you! Don't give up!"

"Shut up you little brat." Kid tried to struggle out of his grip. He was crying. Sky was still barely alive and tried reaching for him but could barely move. His sight was blurry. He could feel something wet spread over his chest. He recognized the smell to be blood. His eyes slid closed.

"No~!" Ghirahim disappeared in a flash of diamonds, leaving Sky for dead.

~Kid~

Ghirahim appeared in an area with cells. He threw Kid into one and slammed the door shut.

"Stay there and keep quiet. I need to get everything prepared for the ceremony. You will at least keep my master alive long enough that I can get the spirit maiden." Ghirahim made sure the cell was locked and then disappeared in diamonds. Kid didn't stop crying. He sat down and pulled his knees to his chest and hugged them. He closed his eyes, making the salty tears fall faster.

"Jayk." His eyes snapped open and he saw Midna. He stood up.

"Midna, what are you doing here?" Kid asked.

"I came to help you." Midna answered.

"I don't need it as much as Link. Link came to save me. I have no idea if he's dead or not."

"Well, you're still here. If he died, you probably wouldn't be here. I will get you out of here first, get you home, then I'll see about getting the other Link." There was the sound of approaching footsteps. Midna hid in Kid's shadow. The footsteps were slow, it sounded like the feet were just dragging themselves. Kid got up and looked out the cell. He saw Sky making his way slowly there.

"Link!" Kid tried to break the bars. "How'd you get here?" The closer get got, the closer he could see. "Link, are you ok?" Sky was barely able to walk. A trail of blood was coming out of his mouth.

"N-Never, better." He coughed a little bit.

"Link, you need to go home and rest. You'll die if you continue like this."

"I can't let you be sacrificed." Sky said and cut the string holding the bars together with his sword and it fell apart. "W-We… Need to, find a bird statue. Y-you need to at least, get out."

"I don't think so." They both turned around. Ghirahim was standing there. "Well, I'm not too surprised that you lived from that wound, sky child, but the little brat is going nowhere." Sky raised his sword up. He was so shaky. "What do you say, Fairy child. I'll spare the sky brat's life if you come with me."

"D-Don't, do it, Jayk. I'm not worth it."

"He can barely breathe and barely stand. Come with me and I'll assure his good health."

"Jayk, you go with him and goodbye to the world. Your friends in your time won't exist. Don't give them up for me. I've lived my life. You're still young, you deserve to live yours."

"If you run away, I'll kill him. Come with me to be sacrificed and he'll live."

"How about neither!" Ghirahim turned around. Twi was running up to them, still didn't have his sword out yet, but was running toward them. He reached Ghirahim and pulled it out in the last second. He had used the Mortal Draw on Ghirahim. Ghirahim stepped back after the cut was made. It cut him across his arm and part of his chest. Twi then kicked him down. "Nobody is killing or sacrificing anybody today."

"Erryn, what are you doing here?" Sky asked.

"I left shortly after you did. I went to find my sword, found it, and heard all the commotion and came running." Twi explained. Ghirahim got up.

"Great, now I have two Links to kill." Ghirahim summoned his sword. Ghirahim made the first attack which Twi blocked with the sword. Ghirahim knocked back a bit. That's when Twi quickly jumped over him and used helm splitter. It cut Ghirahim on his face. Ghirahim spun around and nearly hit Twi and Sky. Sky readied himself for battle.

"Jayk, stay back. You don't have a weapon." Sky said.

"You stay back too, Link. You're hurt." Twi said. While Twi was distracted, Ghirahim attacked, but Twi blocked it. He was soon against the wall, Ghirahim was about to give the final strike. Sky ran using only pure will power and got in front of Twi. He pulled the sword out and Sky fell down. Twi tried to stab Ghirahim, but Ghirahim caught the sword. He pulled it out of his hands and tossed it aside. Kid started to run up to help. Ghirahim grabbed Twi by his neck and stabbed him in the stomach. Twi's eyes slid closed. Ghirahim stepped away, letting Twi fall. He fell on top of Sky. Ghirahim turned around and grabbed Kid by the front of his tunic, then lifted him up, carrying him like a toddler again. Kid tried to break free, but couldn't. "No point in trying brat. You won't be able to break free. It's time for the ritual." Ghirahim snapped his fingers and they appeared in some kind of room. There was some kind of strange pattern on the floor. Ghirahim made a cage appear on the ground. He put Kid inside and shut then locked it. The cage was just big enough for Kid to fit. "It's time to start the ritual." Ghirahim started his ritual dance. Kid was scared. He started to feel strange. Ghirahim stopped in front of the cage and rose his hand over it. The cage disappeared. Kid would try to escape, but he couldn't move. He started to glow. He fell to the floor of the cage and started to shiver. He was in so much pain, it took whatever strength he had left to keep from screaming out. He clenched his fists due to the pain. Eventually, the pain got so bad, he couldn't help but scream as his life energy was pulled out of him. Eventually, everything went black…

Oh no… Kid's just been sacrificed! With both the teen Heroes down, who will protect Zelda from Ghirahim's clutches!? You'll have to see in the next chapter.

See ya,
