Queen of Hearts

I don't own Kingdom Hearts.

"Vanessa?"

"What?" I ask, confused. Riku scratches his head. He asks why I am here. When I give the full explanation, Riku's jaw drops. I can see his eyes wanting to pop out of his blindfold.

"So let me get this straight: Their leader is your father." I nod. "And the first eight are hollow shells of people from your childhood." I nod again. "And one of the Nobodies you didn't know in their past life tried to rape you." I nod slowly. "Why are you with this crazy group?" I smiled wryly and roll my eyes.

"They don't have to worry. I won't be here any longer to pit them against each other. I just want my dad back..." I feel tears begin to fall. "And I can't do that! He barely even remembers I'm his child with that stupid...Why do I make things so complicated?" I can no longer control the feelings: anger and frustraton, a loss in my heart... I want to say I should have never bothered finding my parents. No, then I'd look like a spoiled and whiny bitch.

Riku watched Vanessa break down in tears. She was the only person there who could feel, and she was crying because she felt she was a hassle. All she had wanted was her father back to normal and to find her missing mother. All she wanted was her family. Riku volunteered to take her back to Hollow Bastion, not knowing Xion was listening. All the while, Riku grimaced at her torn expression. She didn't have a home, where she could see her mother and her father every day. Riku dreamed of the outside world after meeting Vanessa and her father, Terra. It strengthened when he met Aqua, Vanessa's mother. It grew even more when Kairi arrived on the sandy shores of their ageless island playground. He began to question himself. He still had his goofy dad, and his crazy mother. He wanted to comfort her in some way...

"Hey, Nessa?" Vanessa looked up to him with tear-stained cheeks, no longer crying, but hurt. "What were your parents like, everyday?" Vanessa then went into the whole spill, her face lighting up bit by bit. She smiled, and giggled as the memories resurfaced. "I loved to spend every day with them... What I wouldn't do just to have another chance... Just to be able to hear my mom fuss at my dad, to get advice from her, to brush her hair again..."

[In Hollow Bastion]

Riku looked around. Hollow Bastion seems more lively now. Vanessa grinned in anticipation. "Home sweet home," Turning around, she flashed a toothy grin. "right?" Riku only nodded.

"Yeah, home sweet home. Listen, Nessa, do you really think running away from them will change anything?" Vanessa pursed her lips as if in deep thought. "I mean, they are your friends and my enemies. They might miss you."

"They're Nobodies, they have no feelings. They'll get over it." Vanessa replied casually, summoning Wayfinding Fire. "Besides, if they are your enemies, and you're my friend, they are my enemies, too. If you were me, why go back? It'll only cause more problems." After saying thanks and welcoming Riku to the new and improved Hollow Bastion, Vanessa quietly walked around, looking for a sign of her neighbors.

I look around for a sign of the others, but no such luck. I see a Nobody lurking around. Riku taps my shoulder and points in front of me. It's everybody from the Organization. I sigh as Dad glares at Riku suspiciously.

"I see you want to die as well, Riku?" Riku tried to calmly explain the situation, but Dad would never listen to him. Xion stepped up.

"Uhh, Superior?"

"Yes, No. XIV?" Dad sighed, ready to kill somebody.

"Vanny left of her own choice. She didn't want to cause problems for anybody else in the Organization, so she asked Riku to bring her here." Dad looked at us, a hint of embarassment on his face. He asked Xion why she hadn't told him earlier. "I was trying to, but you were too upset to listen." Dad nodded and looked at me.

"Vanessa, is this true?" I nod. I was prepared to fight, to do whatever was necessary to make the Terra in him see I can make adult decisions on my own. I may never get Dad back, but the Dad I have now will have to do... for now.

"...Yeah... Look, guys- I only wanted to find my dad so we could look for Mom, but...I didn't take into account what the risks would be, and my virginity will not be a risk I am willing to yield to, willingly or not. Furthermore, the latest incident has made me see that I don't belong in the Organization, and my heart is too much of a crutch. I want to help people, not be the cause of a group divided. Trust me, you've got enough drama with each other. So, I left, and I don't want to be there anymore. I'll only make things worse." Roxas ran up to me, hugging me tightly.

"Who'll train Xion and I? Everybody will miss you, too!" I pry him off and smile sadly.

"You're Nobodies, which mean you don't have feelings, right? You'll get over it, I'm sure. My decision is final, and I will use force if necessary if you can't see that." Luxord then walked up, barring me from the others.

"Whoa, love, no need to be brutal. We'll go, right, Superior? Besides, you're just as stubborn as he is." I laugh.
[Simple and Clean begins to play in the background]

I say goodbye to everybody, and look for Riku, who had been listening the whole time. I thank him and kiss him lightly on the cheek before disappearing into the crowd.

Thanks for reading! To be continued in the next story! Sorry if the ending's crappy...
