Author's Note: I am so sorry that it has taken me long to update, gosh. I spent the weekend at my best friend's mothers house [Which was kind of fun, we had a party along with other activities and she kept introducing me as 'This is my daughter's best friend' and when they asked where her daughter actually was her response was 'Not here.' My Best friend lives far south in Texas while her mother lives in Northeast of Texas, I live in the middle of them…. So you have an idea. That I didn't spend the weekend with my Best friend I spent it with her mother. Is that weird?] and I didn't bring my laptop. Then Monday, she dropped me off at my grandmothers. I just went home yesterday to pick up my laptop and brought it back. So, I haven't been home since last Friday… yeah. I'll try to update twice today as an extra sorry. But hope you like the chapter.
Chapter 12- So Close.
I smiled at least he cared. "Who is the lucky girl?"
I was now lying in my bed; the only light in the room was from my bedside table lamp. I was generally curious as to who he was going with, maybe I could see him before we actually meet.
"I know what you're doing. *smirk* I almost fell for it. You're just going to have to wait." And planned ruined.
"I girl gots to try." I smiled, as I flipped to my side, to get more comfortable. I realize how much I was relying on him to always talk to me. Making me feel better at the end of each day. Because at this moment, though we were far away, I felt at peace.
"Maybe you need to try a little bit harder."
"*pout* You're no fun."
"Breaking the spirit of children everywhere if my job."
"You don't have a job, remember? :)"
"Then I am making it my job."
"Weirdo."
"Night Thorn." I frown, I wanted to talk more. When I glanced at my clock I realize it was midnight. We didn't talk much, but apparently it was enough to last until midnight. I knew it was better to go to sleep now and try to get the five hours of sleep ahead of me.
"Night Pyro." I sighed, locking my phone and turned the other direction, falling asleep as soon as my phone was out of my hand.
My alarm went off, way too early in the morning. At least that is what I thought, it woke me up like any other morning. For me to get ready for school at the butt crack of dawn. Rubbing the sleep from my eyes, I stretched. Grabbing the cleanest thing I could find with happened to be plaid red and black leggings with a spaghetti strap tank with lace at the bottom, a leather jacket, and combat boots. Leaving my hair down, I grabbed my backpack and headed to breakfast.
My dad wasn't coming this month, since for two weeks I would be with him, and the day after the dance everyone would be on break. But he would be picking me up, at least according to the text he just sent me. I shook my head, it was now lunch time. Sitting with my regular table; Michael, Eddie, Mason, Lissa, Jill, Mia, and some of the football team. Lissa was informing them I had found my dress.
And of course, the girls wanted to see it. Apparently, it was a good thing Lissa had taken a picture of me in it. It was baby blue with a sweetheart neck line, with a black belt at the waist and black lace from the breast up. The lace had small detailed flowers that matched the shoes perfectly.
As they were gushing about the dress, I saw Christian walking across the cafeteria. He was wearing black skinny jeans, usual for him- and white t-shirt, a checker pattern scarf, black boots, and his leather jacket. His black hair was messy, not neatly spiked in the front like usual. Almost like he ran his hand through his hair a few times with gel. He looked hot. Almost like he felt me looking at him, he turned slightly making eye contact.
I could see the faint smirk on his lips, seeming pleased that he had caught me looking at him. I bit my lip and slightly smiled at him.
"Earth to Rose!" Mason yelled, startled slightly I turned to him.
"Hm?" I looked around the table, everyone was staring at me.
"Mia asked, if you're going to the dance with anyone." I glanced to where Christian had sat down by himself.
"No. I think I'm going to go by myself this dance." I said with a shrug.
"Oh, come on. No one has asked you? I mean the dance will be pretty boring if you're by herself." Many people has asked me, including Troy and most of the football team. But I turned all them down, because I wanted Christian and now since I got him. Apparently I can't even tell my closes friends.
I sighed. "I've asked someone." Breaking my 'I don't want to tell anyone,' faze I still am not sure I should've broke in the first place.
"Really?!" Jill, Lissa, and Mia said at the same time. "Who?!"
They screamed, causing most of the cafeteria to look at us. Including Christian, who gave me a questionably look. The football team that was sitting at the table was looking at me, wanting to know as well.
"Can we talk about this later? The seven of us. After my tutorials." I shot an uneasy glance at the all too eager to listen football players. They nod their heads.
"The cabin?" Lissa questioned. I nod my head. The cabin was close to the schools' boarder. We had found it in middle school, one day. By we, I mean Mason, Eddie, and I. We had sneaked out for a party in the woods, when the party was shut down. We ran, so we wouldn't get in trouble, stumbling upon the cabin.
We discovered that it was abandon. There was a table with chairs, beds, sofas, even a kitchen. Everything was dusty and needed a good scrub down for it to be clean. The three of us cleaned and stocked it up. It was our meeting place, all seven of us knew where it was. We had never told anyone else about it or where it was located.
"Good, then I can talk too." She commented. I saw Michael take a deep breath and nod slightly. I knew then she wanted to tell us about, the baby. I glanced at Jill, but she was too busy giving Eddie a hickey. I side, picking up a bread roll and threw it at her head.
"Uh." She said and turned to look for the person who had thrown it.
"That's for private couple time. I don't want to see that." She blushed, a deep red color forming on his cheeks. Eddie leaned into her ear and whispered something. And I rather not know, because she blush got redder. Though, I knew Jill most likely followed her parents unspoken rules about no sex before marriage. Jill had moved into her father's and adoptive mother home when her birth mother and step father died in a house fire. Luckily, Jill was at school when it happened, so she wasn't hurt.
But at the same time, I didn't know if she truly followed that rule. Eddie, Mason, and I were close, close like Lissa and I. But knowing about Eddie's and Jill's sex life seemed to cross a line. Either they haven't done it, yet and there was nothing to talk about or he wanted something secretive about his relationship with Jill.
The bell rang for us to go back to class. I looked up at Christian, to only to see that he was already staring at me. I waved slightly at me, as he smiled. And for some reason I had a strange reason like we had a secret relationship. Okay, we do. But more into a boyfriend-girlfriend relationship.
I shook it out of my head. I would see him in P.E and if I was too busy worrying about if we were a couple or not. Which… were not, right? I mean, we could go to a dance without having to be together right?
The little voice in my head was telling me I was wrong. I just told it to shut up.
~Computer Stranger~
Tutoring was almost weird. For a while now, since we had focused a little on the actual studying. We laughed and flirt, I assume. That was what we were doing now. Laughing. Christian had made a joke about Troy. Saying that he was probably a jerk because of the size of his junk. It probably wouldn't make a girl happy. Which is true; he pretends he is god's gift to women. I bit my lip and faced Christian.
"Christian… What are we?" He glanced up, seeing my completely serious face and stopped laughing.
"What do you mean?" He asked gently.
"I mean… We've known each other since September, we talk about almost everything. And, I enjoy having you around me."
He smiles, a real smile. Not a smirk. Not a completely fake smile he gives sometimes. It was completely real. It lite up his face, making him appear younger than his 17 years of life he had on him.
"I feel that way too." I smile at him, biting my lower lip.
"So?" He moved closer.
"So?" I looked down at his lips. "Why did you ask me out?"
He questioned, which brought my eyes back up to his. Even though I saw that his eyes were on mine.
"Not entirely sure. Though when my friend asked me who did I want to go with to the dance. You popped into my head. So I asked you the next day."
He hummed, finally looking up to me. We had gotten closer. So close, that I could feel his breath on my face. He licked his lips.
"Rose," He whispered. His lips close enough, now, that I could them against mine when he said my name.
"Yes?" I whispered, back.
"Will you-"
Even though I'm on my own
I know I'm not alone
'Cause I know there's someone, somewhere
Praying that I make it home
So here's one from the heart
My life right from the start
I need a Home sweet home
To call my own
Asking Alexandria's song Someone, Somewhere blasted through my phone, breaking any trans that we were in. Christian pulled back, clearing his voice and paid attention to the books on the table. I looked down at it, Lissa was calling me.
"Yeah?"
"Where are you?" She questioned, I looked up at the nearest clock. Tutorials were supposed to end about thirty mintues ago. Crap.
"Ah. Crap. Lissa, I'm sorry. I am coming, give me a few." I hung up the phone and faced Christian. By the look on his face, he knew I had to go. Nodding, I packed my stuff. As I put my backpack over my shoulder. I looked at him, he was packing too.
Invite him. The voice whispered in my head. So I did.
"What?" He questioned, glancing up.
"My friends, want to know who I am going to the dance with. They don't know its you, at least not yet. There are my closes friends, and they deserve to know. So I was wondering if you want to go with me to break the news?"
"How do I know, this isn't just some trick?" He questioned. The hurt must've shown on my face because he quickly corrected himself. "I mean, your friends. How do I know they won't do anything?"
"They won't. I've known them since I was four. They care about if they hurt me. Please?" He seemed to think about it for a moment. Before he agreed, I smiled at him.
"Thank you." He nods his welcome.
"So, where are we going?" He questioned when he saw that we weren't heading towards the dorms.
"In middle school. Mason, Eddie, and I found this cabin. We fixed it up and now that is where we go if we want to talk in private."
"And this cabin is where we're going now?" I nod.
"Yes, because Lissa also has something to tell us without gossipers listening in and spreading it. And I wanted to tell my friends. Practically family about us going to the dance… or even if we turn into more first." I see him nod, as I turn at our marked tree. Only a few more minutes I thought. The mark on the tree, was a star with a triangle inside. It was one out of three trees marked. It was also the last one. The first one was located near the dorms, and the second was between that tree and the tree we just passed.
I can see the cabin in the distance. Little light shown through the windows. Light shown through with the lamps we had placed inside. It was a pretty big cabin, two story. We had yet been upstairs to mess with anything. It probably had a bathroom and couple of bedrooms.
I could hear the laugher from inside. I turned and smiled at Christian, reassuring him it would be okay. I opened the door, yelling. "The party is here!"
"ROSE!" Everyone laughed. They were sitting on the floor, smiling. Jill in Eddie's lap, Mia in Mason's, Lissa in Michael's. When they saw Christian they looked at me Questionably.
"You can set your bag there." I pointed next to the door, where I placed mine. Christian and I joined the group on the floor.
"Rose?" Michael inclined his head to Christian.
"Oh, you guys know Christian. Christian you know the guys." He nods and looks around the room.
"Um, Rose?" Mia looked between the two of us.
I took a deep breath, might as well get it out of the way. "Okay. So you guys wanted to know who was my date to the dance right?" They all nod.
"Well, it's Christian."
"You said yes to him?" Jill looked confused. I shook my head.
"No, I asked him. We first started talking back in September. Then he became my tutor and well… Now we're going to the dance together."
We sat in silence for a moment.
"Do you have a suit?" Lissa questioned, excitedly.
"Sort of." He unsurely mumbled.
"What do you mean, 'sort of.'" Mia questioned. The boys and well as me were giving him 'it's a trap' look.
"I have pants, a button down shirt, and a vest."
"No tie? No dress shoes? No jacket?" Jill, this time, questioned.
"No. I mean, if I know the color of Rose's dress, I can buy a tie. But I am not going to wear a jacket or dress shoes."
All the girls looked appalled. "What? What did I say?" He looked around the room, ending with me.
"I think you're forgetting that you're talking about the fashion girls. You answered that question completely wrong."
"Oh." He said, but then shrugged. I smiled at him, patting his hand that was between us.
"Okay, Lissa." I wanted to change the subject. "What did you want to tell us?"
"Oh yeah!" Jill and Mia exclaimed loudly. Their boys chuckled at them.
"Um…" She looked uncertainly at Christian.
"If he says anything, I'll personally beat his ass in training."
"Oka- wait what?"
"Christian and I go to the gym every Saturday."
"Oh, well." Lissa continued, shakily looking over at Michael who wrapped an arm around her shoulder. "I'm pregnant."
