Legolas entered Rivendell with his stead at full gallop. He did not wait for the horse to stop, but jumped up with his feet on the saddle then lunged forward. "Lord Elrond! Lord Elrond!"

"Here. I am here. What has happened?" Elrond set down an ancient manuscript and went straight for Legolas.

"Tell me Malthaire is here. Tell me at once." Legolas' eyes scanned the surrounding area as he ignored Elrond who approached.

Elrond grabbed Legolas' forearm. "He is here. What is wrong?"

Legolas doubled over feeling nauseous. "Thank Ilúvatar he is safe."

Elrond started to understand. "Did you really think King Thorin would use him badly and leave him?" Elrond watched the lingering fear on Legolas' face. "He is safe. He is quite safe."

"Where is he?" Legolas took a step down the path then shifted his weight looking down the valley trying to determine where he should look first.

"Come. I will show you." Elrond extended his arm then quickly walked down the path up to the main chambers knowing that Legolas was close behind him. "Did you know that Malthaire's uncle and I knew each other during the Second Age. He was my solace when my brother Elros became counted among Men instead of Elves." Elrond stopped walking.

Legolas caught up to him in a second and faced him. He knew that his father and Elrond never speak of that time, so Elrond talking of it now must hold some significance. Legolas watched and waited guessing that Elrond would tell him that because of the bond he had with his uncle that he had threatened Thorin into being a gentlemen.

Elrond slowly took a breath then continued. "I was planning on using an archaic blood ritual that would bond my brother to me. It would have allowed him to live as long as I was alive, but that was not what he wanted. He wished to live and die as Men do. If not for Malthaire's uncle, I would have gone through with it and my brother would have hated me till our dying day."

Legolas' watched the play of emotion and sorrow on Elrond's face and thought of his own father who lost his brother when they were young.

Elrond shook his head then his countenance changed. "You must let the ones you love decide their own fate even if that means you have to deal with the loss of them."

Legolas kept his voice quiet. "Have you seen something that you wish not to tell me directly?"

"No. Only that you must respect other's decisions."

Legolas scrutinized Elrond's face believing he might see something betrayed in his eyes, "What decision has Malthaire made that I must respect that I will not like."

Elrond stepped to the side and lifted his arm. He hoped that Legolas would understand that Malthaire had chosen not to allow Elrond to kill the assassins that had and would show up at Rivendell. He asked Elrond to wound them if need be but not to kill them. Malthaire only wished to live in peace and did not want others dead on his account. This decision was placing Malthaire in a more precarious situation with assassins showing up weekly, Elrond feared he would not make it over the next decade or so.

Legolas turned to see Malthaire and Thorin sitting together. They appeared happy. Malthaire was not being misused or in danger, which was what he believed. Relief swept through him as a light breeze caught in his hair.

Legolas went to take a step forward as Malthaire started to laugh. Legolas went still and saw Malthaire reach out and shove Thorin's shoulder as Malthaire said, "When you started helping me pick out a rock, I thought it was some trick to stop me from going through with it. I was so stunned when you actually gave me that smooth stone that I knew I had to leave with you."

Legolas stared in amazement at listening to what he thought was Malthaire describing a shopping trip with Thorin for a wedding ring where Thorin picked out a smooth gem as a center piece for it. He knew Elrond said he had to respect other's wishes, but anger grew inside him and he wished to get Malthaire away from the Dwarf. His father and a Dwarf named Kili was responsible for him losing Tauriel and now one was with his best friend Malthaire. He told himself that it was not right that he was upset and that Malthaire was only a close friend, but in the end he did not care.

"Malthaire." Legolas walked forward watching Malthaire's eyes light up with happiness only to be cast down to the side. "What is going on? You left. You left with him."

"It was for the best." Malthaire felt embarrassed and did not know if Legolas fully knew everything that had happened between him and his father.

"The best for who?" Legolas turned angry eyes at Thorin who grinned happily in return. Legolas fought to stop himself from strangling Thorin. "My father…Thranduil gave him to you and you brought him here. Why?"

Bilbo strode up with a bowl of cheese covered potatoes. "Because I'm here."

Legolas' confusion was obvious, "Because you are here?"

Elrond quickly raced up steps taking three at a time. He finally skid to a stop at a railing. Elrond glanced around at Lady Gladriel, Celeborn, Gandalf, Fili, Kili standing much too close to Tauriel along with several others and said, "It begins."

Celeborn tipped his head back, "I think you relish that this will torment Thranduil."

Elrond blinked then raised his eyebrows as if innocent. "Do I? Surely not."

Below the growing list of watchers on at a railing that Gandalf spelled to appear to be an empty platform, Bilbo waved his fork in the air, "Yes because I'm here and oh sorry and also your father is a bit of a dick."

It took Legolas a few seconds to recognize the Man word. "I do not understand all this."

Bilbo took another bite wondering if he could get some thyme herb on his potatoes. "I didn't either at first. I mean poor Malthaire being tortured and he couldn't leave Mirkwood because the assassins would kill him. Not to worry he is safe with Thorin. I'm going to look for thyme." With that, Bilbo wandered off the platform in search of the kitchen.

Legolas watched him walk off believing he lost his mind.

Thorin knew Malthaire's was moments from leaving, so Thorin thought a lie was in order, but first he would speak one truth. "Bilbo and I are together. We are thinking about adding Malthaire into the mix." Thorin liked the lie he came up with.

Legolas stepped forward as Malthaire's jaw dropped.

Thorin happily continued as he believed he could goad Legolas. "Thrandy gave him to me after all and no one else wants him. I mean taking him as ours would be a step up for him. We won't torture him, break his bones and watch him crawl for food like Thrandy did, so he should be thankful to me. I'm betting on him showing me exactly how thankful a slave Elf can be."

Malthaire continued to gape as Legolas pulled out a sword and lunged at a laughing Thorin who managed at the last moment to deflect the sword. They rolled on the floor grappling for dominance.

Malthaire had no idea what Thorin was talking about, but rushed forward to try to separate them before someone died.

A piercing wail shook the complex. Legolas, Malthaire and Thorin all breaathles, stopped rolling so that Thorin straddled Legolas and Malthaire was half laying over Thorin since he was trying to pull him off of Legolas.

They glanced up to see Thranduil standing in the entrance way.

Malthaire backed away while pulling his hair out of his face.

Legolas pushed Thorin off of him.

Thorin lay back grinning quite wickedly at Thranduil and said, "You sure know how to ruin a party. We already have a blond Elf. We don't need a second now go away…your son is younger and hotter than you any way. I much prefer rolling around with him than with you."

Thranduil shook with fury and outrage.

As the crowd above leaned closer to the rail waiting in anticipation, Elrond raised an eyebrow as his darker urges rose to the surface with hope, "I will place a wager. Three hundred gold coin that Thrandy begs for it in the end."

Tauriel shook her head, "I think he will kill Thorin not fuck him."

Elrond grinned, "We shall see. We shall see."

A/N: Hahahahaaa! Angry Thrandy and a smug Thorin is heaven.
