Thirteen- News

The Son House was quiet in the early hours as night turned into morning. Gohan slept peacefully as Videl was tucked in beside him soundly. In the crib, just a few feet away, Rin slept on as well.

'Gohan!' A familiar voice drifted through his head and he scrunched up his nose. 'Gohan!' The voice called again urgently.

Slowly, Gohan stretched as he started to sit up and he rubbed his tired eyes. They fell upon the clock... It was just a little after 3:30 in the morning. His alarm wasn't set for another two and a half hours. Then him, Videl and Rin would be getting ready to bring Pan home.

'Gohan!'

"Dende?" He mumbled, finally recognizing the voice.

'Yes, Gohan, it's me,' his voice was softer now. 'Listen to me carefully, you have to go to Pan right away! Somethings wrong, she's in trouble!'

Gohan's eyes shot open and suddenly he wasn't tired anymore. He tripped as he jumped off he bed and woke Videl up. His heart was hammering in his chest and his gut dropped. What could possibly be wrong with his little girl?!

"Gohan?" Videl spoke sleepily. "What's wrong?"

"I'm going to Ember," he told her quickly, not bothering to change out of the pair of green sweats and white shirt he had been sleeping in. "Dende woke me up. Somethings wrong with Pan," he gave his wife a worried glance before using Instant Transmission to take him to his oldest daughter.

Videl let out a hallow breath as Gohan disappeared. His body was starting shake, her stomach felt queasy. She sucked in a breath but a worried sob escaped her lips as tears filled her eyes. She prayed to the kais harder than she ever had- Please let Pan be okay!

Gohan arrived in Pan's room just a few seconds after Goku did and a few seconds before Hercule. He didn't have time to focus on Pan's room or question why the other two men were there, already figuring that Dende must have told them as well. He rushed to the bed, panic setting in as he watched Pan, who was struggling to breath. Her face was scrunched up in pain and he felt his heart breaking.

Gohan rushed to Pan's side and grabbed one of her clammy hands. "Dad! What's wrong with her?" He gave Goku a pleading look, hoping that he would know some sort of answer.

"I... I don't know," Goku admitted honestly, his eyes wide and his face white.

Gohan wasn't sure what scared him more... The fact that something was terribly wrong with Pan or the fact that his father, who was never worried about anything... Looked extremely worried at the moment.

"I'm taking her to the hospital!" Gohan cried, scooping Pan up into his arms. He disappeared a second later.

"G-Goku..." Hercule's voice wavered as he glanced at the Saiyan. Tears filled his eyes as he shook. "What could have happened...? She was just fine when we went to bed... And then this voice was in my head tellin' me to wake up and-"

"I don't know..." Goku repeated what he had told Gohan. For the first time, in a very long time... He wasn't sure what to do and that fact made him feel so hopeless... He swallowed hard and grabbed Hercule's arm. "Come on... I'm going home to get Chi-Chi. I'm sure Videl is awake by now as well. She'll need you. And then, let's go to the hospital..."

Oh how Goku hated hospitals... But he loved his granddaughter more.

He didn't wait for Hercule to nod in agreement before they too, disappeared.

Trunks was having a restless sleep. The dream had started off rather nicely. Pan was there with him, and he wasn't sure of what exactly they were doing but they were together and she was smiling. So it was a very nice dream. Then... Something changed. Pan disappeared and he couldn't see her no longer, but he still heard her. She was crying and calling out to him. He was running as fast as he could, searching everywhere for her so he could find her... But he never could.

"Trunks," a hand on his shoulder shook him, gently waking him from his sleep.

Trunks jumped slightly, still a little shaken from his dream and he blinked his eyes as he glanced up at his father. It wasn't unusual for Vegeta to come over to his house... But it was rather strange for him to be there, waking him up at what time? He glanced at the clock and groaned, it was just four in the morning.

"Please don't tell me you want to spar this early," Trunks mumbled. "Can't I sleep for a few more hours. Please, dad?"

Instead of making some witty remark, Vegeta looked rather soft... And although Trunks had seen the rare soft side of his father, it made him uneasy... Something wasn't right.

"You need to get up and put on a shirt," Vegeta said softly.

"Dad...?" Trunks sat up, and carefully moved Akemi, who was resting beside him, so he wouldn't squish her. "What's going on?" He asked as he stood up.

Vegeta took a deep breath. "It's Pan..."

Trunks' eyes widened and his heart felt like it stopped. He wavered slightly, as if he were about to fall but Vegeta reached out and grabbed his shoulders.

"Listen to me, Trunks," Vegeta was saying. "I don't know what happened, no one does. Dende, woke up Gohan and Kakarot and told them something was wrong. They rushed her to the hospital here in the city. Your mother and sister are already on their way there and I came to get you." He gave his son's shoulder a gentle squeeze. "Pan's tough, we both know this," he was telling Trunks. "Get a shirt on and grab your stuff."

Trunks didn't need to be told twice. He rushed to a drawer and found a simple blue shirt that had the CC logo on it. He slipped on a pair of vans and grabbed his phone, wallet and a few capsules he usually kept on him and shoved them into the pockets of his black basketball shorts and disappeared with his father.

By the time Trunks and Vegeta made it to the hospital, everyone else was already there. Videl was shaking, her complexion pale just like Gohan's. They held onto each other tightly, both of them looking so scared and worried. Chi-Chi was sitting beside Gohan, and she had a sleeping Rin in her lap and Bulma sat beside her, a worried look on her face. Across from them, Goten day, jiggling his foot nervously. Trunks walked over and took the seat in between Bulla and Goten. Instantly, Bulla grabbed his arm and held onto him tightly. He glanced up, seeing his father leaning against a nearby wall as Goku paced nervously.

"What... What happened...?" Trunks' voice was barely above a whisper. It felt like he absolutely no strength left to talk.

"We don't know..." Goten's voice was just as quiet. "Dende woke up dad and Gohan, telling them to go to Pan. By the time they got there..." he took a shaky breath. "She was having a hard time breathing. Gohan brought her here immediately. She's been back in the OR ever since..."

Trunks swallowed hard, his hands tightening into fist. He could feel Bulla shaking beside him. Her nose was buried into his arm as she sniffed. He knew she was worried... He was too. Pan was strong. One of the strongest people Trunks knew. He had to think positively. She was a Saiyans, so that right away gave her good chances. It was just the fear of not knowing what was wrong that had him worried.

Close to half an hour later, Marron and her parents arrived. She took the spot next to Goten and held his hand tightly as Eighteen sat beside Bulma and Krillin went over to try to talk to Goku.

It seemed like they waited forever before a doctor walked out. Everyone's attention went straight to him as he looked at the group.

"Right now, Pan is stable," he informed them, and everyone let out a small sigh of relief. "There was alcohol in her system but it was faint, giving the situation we are concluding that she had it unknowingly. As for what happened..." he took a deep breath. "There is a new, dangerous drug going around called The Black Death. Drug dealers make them and sell them to those wishing to end their life. It's extremely toxic, in it is mixed several different dangerous drugs to make a perfect combo to kill." The doctor ran his hand through his hair with a nervous sigh. "What the injection does first is that it puts the heart into cardiac arrest and then it shut downs all the other organs. We got Pan's heart beating on its own again. She's extremely strong... I can tell she has a will to live."

"Are you sure that's what it was...?" Bulma choked out, seeming to be the only one who could speak. Gohan has tears running down his face and Videl was sobbing.

"Yes..." the doctor nodded slowly. "I have two questions to ask you all. One, is there anyone out there that could possibly want to harm Pan?"

The group grew quiet. A chill ran through the air.

"Pan..." Gohan's voice cracked. "She's the sweetest," he choked back a sob. "How... why..." he couldn't form the words. The thought that someone would do this to her made him sick in the gut. He wanted to find whoever had done it and... And... He usually wasn't a violent man, but he wanted to kill them.

The doctor was silent for a few seconds. "Pan had been drugged with chloroform. We also found the injection sight on her arm. I'm so sorry, but it seems as if someone did this to her..."

Shock and anger was abundant in the room.

"We have contacted the police and they plan to come by for questioning," the doctor told them softly. "My other question is this... Although we have stabilized Pan's heart, her kidney's are failing. Her other organs are fine but we are very worried. She has AB- blood, it's the rarest kind... Is there anyone here that also by chance has AB- and who would be willing to-"

"I'll do it!" Bulla let go of Trunks' arm and stood up abruptly. "I don't have AB- but I have O, it's the universal donor."

"Honey," Bulma stood up and walked over to her daughter. "Are you-"

"I'm sure," Bulla cut her off. She glanced at the doctor, her eyes serious. "I'll give Pan one of my kidneys. Just... Make sure you save her..." she choked, fighting back some tears.

The doctor gave the teen a soft smile. "You are the one that is saving her," he told her gently. "I'll give you a few minutes before a nurse will come by. Your parents will have to come with you to sign agreement forms since you're underage and then we'll begin prepping you for surgery." He glanced at Gohan and Videl now, "once she's ready, we'll ready Pan, too. Once the surgery is complete, it will just be a matter of Pan waking up." With that, he left to go fetch nurses.

"Oh, Honey," Bulma hugged Bulla tightly. "I am so proud of you," she whispered in her daughter's ear. She knew how much Bulla loved Pan and she knew if the roles were reversed then Pan would do the same in a heartbeat.

"Bulla..." Videl And Gohan stood up. Sniffing, Videl pulled the girl into a tight hug. "Thank you so much!"

"You don't have to thank me," Bulla told them seriously. "Pan is... She's my sister," she whispered.

"I know," Videl nodded with a teary smile.

Soon the nurses came to get Bulla and she gave her final hugs to everyone before Vegeta and Bulma walked back there with her. Trunks' mind had been running nonstop since the doctor had came out and told everyone the news. Someone had done this to Pan... But she lived on the highest floor of a major condo... How could someone have broken into her room...? Unless... It was someone who had easy access to her room. Perhaps it was someone who knew her condo well...

He felt his blood starting to boil. He didn't want to point fingers at Yuri, especially since he had no evidence, but something just wasn't right! Yuri has never felt right! Someone was just off!

Trunks gave Goten a small nudge, and when the man looked at him, he gave him a silent look that said, 'come with me'.

Goten could tell right away that it was serious and gave a small nod. "Hey Mar," he squeezed Marron's hands gently. "I'm going to go with Trunks for a bit, okay?" The three of them stood up and Goten walked her over to Eighteen. "We'll be back in a bit," he told her before he turned to walk out of the waiting room with Trunks.

"Hey!" A voice stopped them and they turned to see Gohan walking up to them quickly. He had saw the look that Trunks gave Goten and he just knew they were up to something. "Where are you two going?"

Goten glanced up at Trunks, cause honestly, he didn't know either.

Trunks took a deep breath. "Ember," he spoke. "What the doctor had me thinking... Just, something doesn't feel right, okay? I don't want to say it was Yuri but... Gohan... That man... Something just not right, okay? Please trust me. I just have this gut feeling and-"

"I trust you," Gohan said, cutting Trunks off. "The handful of times I had met him, he always gave me a weird feeling but I just brushed it off. Do you honestly think he's the one behind what happened?" Gohan asked seriously.

"Yes," Trunks answered honestly. "And I want to find out if he really is."

"I'm coming with you then," Gohan said, his hands clenching into fists.

Trunks, Goten and Gohan entered Pan's room quietly. The balcony door was already freaked open, which caused all three of them to have an unsettling feeling in the pits of their stomach. Trunks' eyes scanned the room... Clothes were piled up, ready to be packed and stuff was thrown together to also be packed. It angered him even more... She was on her way home, wasn't she? And that bastard did this to her.

"Hey..." Goten spoke up, bending down to pick something up that was beside Pan's bed. "This... Is this what that stuff was in?" He held the needle carefully.

Gohan examined it with glaring eyes. "I would assume so," his voice almost growled. "Capsule it."

Goten nodded and pulled out a spare capsule he had and put it in there carefully. Pan's room felt so cold and it made his stomach drop... He still couldn't believe what had happened... If what Trunks said was true and Yuri really was the one to hurt Pan then Goten knew that he would be facing the wrath of at least three Saiyan hybrids.

"Trunks, do you know where he lived?" Gohan asked, glancing at the man.

"The floor below," Trunks muttered. "If he had the ability to, it would have been easy for him to use the balcony on his floor to reach Pan's, and then to use hers again to escape."

"Lead the way..." Gohan told him. "I want to speak with him."

Trunks nodded and lead them through the condo Pan and Hercule had stayed at. They went down the stairs to the floor bellow, know they could reach it on foot quicker than the elevator could take them up. As the door appeared in sight, Goten walked ahead and banged on it loudly.

"Hey! Open up!" He called.

"Here," Trunks pushed him aside before grabbing the knob and trying to turn it. It was bolted shut... "Hell no," he growled and raised his leg before he kicked it open so hard the door completely tore away from the henges.

"Come on," Gohan quickly pushed his way inside. He only took a few steps before he froze, his stomach dropping.

The condo was barren and seemed as if no one had even lived in there for years... Spider webs strung up on the corners and the counters had dust. It was quiet too...

"What the hell..." Goten said, taking a few steps around. "Didn't he live here?"

"He did," Trunks nodded in confirmation. "At least that's what he told Panna."

Gohan glanced around, noticing a few rooms. "Let's look around, maybe we'll find something."

All the rooms, just like the kitchen and the living room was completely barren except for...

"Guys!" Goten yelled from on top of the stair case.

Trunks and Gohan rushed up the stairs and they froze as the door hung open. The room was full of computers, monitors and tables with several different blueprints on it. They took a step inside and hanging above the row of monitors were TVs... and each TV was focused on either Pan's room or somewhere in her condo.

"He..." Gohan's voice was faint as his fist clenched and he shook. "He was stalking her! How the the hell did he get those cameras into her room?!"

"Gohan, calm down!" Goten grabbed his brother's shoulders. "I know you're angry, trust me I am too-"

"I'm pissed!" Gohan seethed. "He had cameras in her room- watching her 24/7! Just imagine how many times he saw her changing clothes, I-" he was growling, almost foaming at the mouth as his muscles twitched and his hair flashed.

"I know!" Goten exclaimed. "But you can't start going super! We'll be noticed! Yuri probably knew we'd come here and he's long gone now. We have to have clear heads and try to figure out where he's gone."

"That fucking bastard," Trunks' voice was hard as he stared at the TVs. He was just as angry as Gohan. Pan's privacy had been completely taken from her and she hadn't even known it! It was sickening!

Trunks reached out and without thinking, he grabbed a computer and pulled it from its plug in before throwing it into the middle of the floor. Then he reached up and began doing the same to the TVs.

"Help me!" He told a confused Gohan and Goten. It took them a few seconds but soon they too were ripping monitors and TVs out of their outlets.

"What are we going to do with these?" Goten asked staring at the pile on the floor.

Trunks pulled out a capsule and put the pile, along with anything else he could find in the room into it. After that, it was just as empty as the other rooms.

"Dende," Gohan said suddenly. "I think we should talk to Dende. He was the one who woke me and Dad up. Maybe he could help us."

The other two men nodded before they took off.

By the time they had made it to the lookout, Dende was outside as if waiting for them.

"Dende," Gohan greeted his old friend. "Thank you... For waking me and Dad up... I don't know what..." he trailed off, refusing to even think of the thought of what could have happened if he hadn't have woken up and went to Pan.

"You're welcome Gohan," Dende said sincerely. "I check up on your guys every now and again, just to make sure everything is okay. I had a gut feeling to check on Pan and that's when I noticed something was wrong."

"Do you know what happened?" Trunks spoke up. "Someone was in the room with her, right?"

Dende inhaled deeply. "I do not know for certain what happened, I'm sorry. I wish I did," he bowed his head apologetically. "However..." one of his antennas gave a slight twitch. "There was someone in the room with Pan... The strange thing is, I couldn't feel them," the namekian admitted. "It was as if they had no ki, which is strange because even weak humans have at least a low level of ki. This person had nothing."

"It's not strange," Trunks grumbled, causing the three to look at him. He let out a small breath, "it's not strange if you're an Android..."

Gohan's eyes widened as he sucked in a breath. Trunks was absolutely right... How could he have forgotten? He had fought with Androids himself. Them having no ki and yet being powerful is what made them so dangerous.

"You think it's an android?" Goten whispered in shock. "But... Eighteen and Seventeen... They're the only ones we know of."

"That doesn't mean Gero didn't make any more that we don't know of," Gohan said with a heavy sigh.

"The stuff we gathered should be able to at least tell us something," Trunks said.

"Should we take the stuff to the police?" Goten asked.

"No," Trunks shook his head. "If it is an android then the police won't be able to help us. We're going to give it to my mother..." he sighed. "Although I'm eager to find that bastard, I think we should probably wait until after Panna and Bulla are both alright..."

The girls health was the top priority. Finding Yuri would have to be put on a back burner for now.

Gohan nodded, "yes, it's probably best we wait. There's too much going on right now and girls need us. That being said, we had best head back to the hospital..." he turned to face Dende and bowed. "Thank you again, Dende."

"Of course..." the Namkian nodded.

With their goodbyes to Dende, they took back off towards the hospital. Their minds were heavy with information. They hadn't faced an Android as an enemy in years... Just how different was Yuri from what Eighteen and Seventeen used to be? Even if he wasn't as skilled in combat, what he did to Pan already proved that he was dangerous... There was no telling what he was capable of.
