Chapter 13: Spirit Guide
Vincent and Tom stare back at their sister with caution. They could tell, just by looking at her that Mary was not herself. She seemed more mature, and yet still had the warm caring expression in her eyes.
Mary glanced away from the two boys to look at the door. It was as if she could see right through the iron and down the corridors. A small smile spreads across her face.
"I don't want you two to worry, I will protect you." The young chipette announced with a smirk.
"E-excuse me...?" Vincent snapped out of his stunned trance and shook the cobwebs out from his head.
"We will get out of here soon enough," Mary spoke again, ignoring Vincent's question. "Please stay close to me. We must find something before you are reunited with your father."
Before the boys could ask her any questions, the door suddenly opened. Mary smiled wider then she turns to the boys.
"This is it, let's go." She barked before rushing out through the door.
Not knowing what else to do, Vincent and Tom glance puzzling at each other before realizing they'd rather be anywhere but in the cell. The two of them start running to catch up to their sister.
"Where are we going?" Vincent whined.
"To find something..." Mary replied flatly.
"What exactly is this something?" Tom asked specifically.
"Something important, it will help your father in his fight against the Founders. Now come on." Mary answered.
The two boys stopped for a moment and looked at each other before they reluctantly continue to follow their sister.
As they turned the corner, two men dressed in black armored uniforms, holding automatic guns stood before them. The turned their heads and saw the three young chipmunks.
"Hold it right there!" One of the men shouted.
"How did you three get out of your cell?" The other man questioned.
Not wasting a second, Mary rushed up to them and using the wall on her right as a launching pad, she jumps up and kicks herself up. She does a spin kick to one of the guard's head - causing him to fall back.
The other man raises his weapon and prepares to fire, but with the few shots he managed to release, he missed. Mary ducked and swung her feet around, tripping the man backwards.
She then got up, grabbed the man's collar, and punched him the head so hard that he fell limp, completely unconscious.
Tom and Vincent froze with a dumbfounded expression on their faces.
"Whoa," They both gasped.
"I told you two that I'd protect you, now come on." Mary instructed, motioning her hand to get the two boys to follow her.
"Did you know she could do that?" Vincent choked.
"Uh-uh," Tom shook his head, unable to speak. He was still amazed with how fast his sister moved.
"Hurry up you two," Mary barked when she realized she was half way down the hall and her brothers had not yet moved. "...Before more guards show up."
"Oh, right." Vincent nodded before rushing up to her with Tom close behind him.

MEANWHILE
Simon, Alvin, Theodore, and Rob brought the boat as close to the island as possible without having it crash up against the rocks.
"You know what to do?" Rob confirmed with Theodore.
"Yes, I stay here for ten minutes, and meet you guys around on the other side in fifteen minutes." The youngest Seville sibling assures the team.
The rest of the team nod their heads before putting on the rest of their swim gear. After they make sure that everything is secure Alvin, Simon, and Rob jump into the water and swam to the cliff, four feet away.
As they climbed up the cliff, Alvin pauses to think about something. He then looks up at his brother and Rob, whom are already half way up the rocky cliff. Alvin raised his eyebrow and said, "You know, not once have I ever imagined myself ever wanting to break into a prison before."
"Alvin, shut up!" Simon snapped back.
Rob is the first one to reached the top. He quickly scoped the area. "OK, it's all clear." He whispered down at the chipmunk brothers.
It wasn't till they got close to the prison building that Simon and Rob suddenly noticed the shadows seemed to move.
"Ah, great." Exclaimed Simon, slowing down a bit.
"What is it?" Asked Alvin.
"We're going to have a fight on our hands." Rob answered as he began to stand in a fighting pose.
"Oh." Alvin said as he finally saw strange looking men walking out from the shadows.
At first glance, the man seemed harmless enough, but once he turned to spot Simon and Rob in the corner of his eye, Alvin saw that perhaps the man wasn't so harmless. Both Simon and Rob had the look that they wanted to kill this person.
"Well, if it isn't my sorry excuses of prodigies." The man smirked. "...And one brother, I'm assuming." He chuckled, addressing Alvin.
"Grafton," Rob growled. "This nightmare ends tonight!"
"Indeed," Grafton signed with a hint of regret. "It's a shame, really, you two had such high potential."
"You can't imagine our disappointment." Simon seethed sarcastically, clinching his jaw tightly.
Again, Grafton let out another regretful sigh. "Kill them," with that one command, several guards dressed in black rushed out from the shadows to attack.
The fight barely started when Simon noticed that Grafton was no longer there.
"Hey, where's Grafton?" He asked Rob.
"The coward must have hid inside." Rob suggested. He then pointed to a door at the left wall. "There's the entrance!" As soon as he mentioned that, Rob swung his leg up and kicked down three of the attackers.
"I see it!" Simon acknowledged. He moved with such grace as he took down three more guards.
With every three guys Simon and Rob managed to take down, Alvin barely was able to defeat one. He did not let that bother him though. The eldest Seville brother simply focused on staying alive.
Even Alvin was admitting that the bad guys were getting more hits in then he was to them. He managed to glance back slightly and saw how easily his younger brother fought in the martial arts. Then again, for five years he was brainwashed and trained to be fighter.
The brief distraction nearly cost him his life as he barely dodged a knife that one of the guards swung at him.
"Ha, too slow!" He bravely taunted.
"Don't get cocky, Alvin. We need to get in that building!" Simon warned.
"I know that," Alvin groaned, throwing a sucker punch at the attackers face.
"Simon, you and Alvin start heading for the door, I'll hold these guys off." Rob suggested.
"Right," the bespectacled chipmunk agreed. He took the lead ahead of Alvin and the two brothers made their way to the door. The only thing standing in their way was ten other men.
Out of the blue, a strange fog appeared and surrounded everyone.
"Whoa, where did this fog come from?" Alvin wondered out loud.
"Good question," Simon hummed.
Even the guards seemed baffled with the strange fog. Considering that the weather was clear not two minutes before the battle began. One by one, each of the guards fell, as if they were hit from behind. As one of the guards dropped to his knees, Simon recognized a ghostly face in the fog.
"Tom...?" He said in a barely audible whisper.
Completely confused with what was happening around him, Alvin just watched as more of the guards fell unconscious. It wasn't till the last person dropped, when he saw a female chipmunk in fog.
"Wait, don't I know you from somewhere?" He asked her.
Alvin didn't receive an answer, which kind of bothered him. His brother came up behind him and stopped when he too saw the angelic figure. At first he wasn't sure, but the look on Simon's face showed that he recognized the ghostly chipette.
"You see her too, don't you?" The elder brother asked, pointing at the chipette in the fog.
"Yeah, I do." Simon nodded.
The chipette pointed towards the door, and like magic the fog parted so it shows a clear path to their destination.
"Thanks Renee," Simon acknowledged with a nod. She nodded back and disappeared.
"Huh...?" Alvin looked perplexed when the chipette was no longer there. "Simon, who was that?"
"A spirit guide, now let's go go!"
The brothers did not waist anymore time, they both ran for the door and managed to get inside the building with no further delays.
