The warm summer breeze flittered through the open bay windows of the Chester Hill Castles. It ruffled Molly's hair carelessly tousling her perfect brown curls all over the place. Just as quickly as the breeze came in, the horde of bridesmaids closed the window and flitted over her hair. To the girls every strand had to be perfect, not a single stray could be out of place. Molly's hair didn't matter to her. She didn't care if it was up, down, curled or straight. Her hair was not on her list of importance today. There was only one thing on her list and it was him.
Molly sighed to herself smiling in the mirror at her closest friends behind her fixing her hair. They wore matching smiles and pale yellow dresses with a white bow in the back. She had picked them at Sherlock's request that they be yellow. The whole wedding was themed yellow, cream and white. It was a perfect summer ceremony. Bright green lawns with giant white stone statues with willow trees scattered about. A dream she had always had and was now living.
The girls smiled at her and praised her with sweet words. For the past month that's all they had done. Molly was annoyed with the words at times but not today. Today those words telling her she was beautiful only stirred her on. She couldn't wait for Sherlock to see her and tell her she was beautiful. Molly Hooper couldn't be happier. It had taken years to get here. After Sherlock's return Molly had things going on in her life she wasn't happy with. Sherlock had helped her though. He came back and pulled her from the grave. He spent his time caring for her and his daughter. He got a real job working with the police force alongside Lestrade. Sherlock was done with drugs for good and he meant it. Together for a couple of years they lived in peaceful happiness. Till one day Sherlock asked her if they should get married.
He didn't know quite what to do. Mary, Johns wife, said it had to be magical. But Sherlock knew there was no such thing as magic so he wouldn't try and recreate it. Instead he had just asked her one chilly fall morning. The tree growing on the sidewalk had all red leaves and when the light passed through and into their shared room it made everything fiery and bright. Molly had woken with a start then utter surprise. Sherlock was sitting cross legged on his side of the bed in a white button up and white pajama bottoms. In front of him was an open grey box with an engagement ring, sparkling red light from the morning colors. Sherlock had just started at her hopping he wouldn't have to say anything, because frankly he had been at a loss for words. A single tear feel from her eye as she tackled him in a hug almost launching themselves off the bed. She whispered yes as she held him tight to her.
Now it was the day. The real day. Dresses were bought, family had flown in and food was being prepared downstairs. They were in separate halls of this castle dressing for the big moment. Sherlock was on the ground floor with John. While Molly resided higher up with her ladies. Sherlock's stomach was full of anticipation. She had kept the dress a secret but she would torture him with details. He could never tell what ones were true or real. In an hour he would see her wearing it. But he wouldn't care what the dress looked like. He could only care for her.
He kept pacing back in forth, scuffing the floor with his loud dress shoes. He had been dressed for a while now and was waiting for the ceremony. His suit was black with yellow to match everything else. The only thing on him out of place was his purple shirt. He smiled to himself remembering all the good things about this shirt. He may look funny but it mattered to him that he wear it.
There was a knock at Sherlock's door and John got up to answer it. Sherlock only had three groomsmen, John, Lestrade and Mycroft. John was, of course, his best man. The door opened and a little six year old girl with a puffy yellow dress came running in.
"Daddy!" she squealed before latching onto his leg. Sherlock chuckled and saw his groomsmen smiling at him. He bent down and hug her to his chest tight before lifting her up and holding her.
"Hello darling," Sherlock placed a kiss on her nose and turned to the mirror.
"Am I pretty daddy? Mommy says I'm really pretty." She had rosy cheeks and bouncy curled hair.
"Well mommy is right, you are very pretty, even beautiful." His daughter really was. She had grown so much and was missing a front tooth. She looked like Molly and had features of his.
"Hey darling," Sherlock lowered his voice and leaned in closer to his daughter, "Can you tell me what mommy looks like?"
Her eyes light up but then she glared at him. "Mommy said you would ask and that I'm not supposed to tell."
Sherlock rolled his eyes, "Oh all right then." He set her back down on her feet and kissed her forehead once more before ushering her to get back to the ladies.
John rose from his seat and placed a hand on Sherlock's shoulder, "Ten minutes till you walk, we should go to the front hall."
He took in a deep quivering breath while looking upon his two friends and brother. He smiled at them and they smiled back each rising to their feet and clapping him on the back. They al stood there silently before Sherlock broke and grabbed onto Lestrade and John bringing them into a hug. Mycroft joined in too. Sherlock shed a few tears and started speaking as his friends embraced him.
"I never thought I would be here today. I never knew I'd make it. John you are partially the reason I'm here. You were the greatest friend I've ever had. Lestrade if not for you I might still be in rehab or not have a real job. And Mycroft… just thank you my brother. We may not get along often but I thank you for protecting her when I couldn't."
The men just nodded and hugged tighter. After that emotional moment, they finally moved to the front lobby adorned with white and yellow orchids. They didn't have to wait long. Soon the song started playing and Sherlock walked down the aisle with his mother and father. As he looked about he could see the teary eyed friends and family. All he wanted to see was Molly. Once he was in place John came down with Mary at his side. Then Mycroft and a woman from Molly's work. Finally Lestrade and another one of Molly's friends came down.
After a beat his daughter came down the aisle carrying a basket with yellow rose petals. Beside her was Johns four year old son with the rings. Sherlock was getting teary eyed again watching his daughter walk towards him. one day he would walk beside her and lead her to her man. Once they reached the front the music changed and Sherlock knew what was coming. The stone doors of the castle opened and she walked out with her mother beside her. Sherlock stopped breathing, his mouth fell open and he froze. She wore a simple stain ball gown with lace long sleeves. She looked stunning. Her floral head band held a lace veil that trailed behind her like her train.
Molly wasn't even halfway up the aisle when tears started falling down her face. She saw a few feel from Sherlock. His smile was so wide, as wide as hers. These were tears of joy, tears that could only be seen on a day like this. Her mother squeezed her arm with a smile on her face. Molly's father would be beside her but he had died when she was ten. Molly was so very happy her mother was here at least.
Molly reached the front and saw her daughter smiling and giggling with the other bridesmaids. Her eyes wandered to Sherlock's and she saw more tears in his eyes. Her mother let go of her arm and walked off. They stood there staring at each other for a minute before Sherlock stepped forward and wiped her tears away. Molly raised her hand and did the same receiving a round of aw's.
The priest asked if they may begin and both of the couple nodded. The proceeding began but they couldn't stop staring at each other. This was their greatest day. When the vows came Sherlock broke completely tears falling as he held Molly's hand and kissed her knuckles thought.
When it was Molly's turn she also cried like no other and she couldn't help but hold her daughters hands as she said them. Once the vows were over rings were put on. Then the priest allowed them to kiss.
Sherlock wrapped a hand around Molly's waist and dipped her before leaning in and placing a soft kiss on her lips. Molly's hands found themselves woven in his hair as she held onto him. When he pulled away and lifted her up and saw such happiness in her eyes. He had done the one thing he promised to always do, to make Molly as happy as she could be. At the moment this was the happiest she could be.
He brushed his thumb on her waist as he held her. Then he uttered the words Molly had wanted to hear the most on this day "You are beautiful, Molly Holmes."
AN: So sorry I didn't post yesterday, I was actually doing something on Valentine's Day (which I totally didn't expect). I also had no idea Benedicts wedding was yesterday. I wrote this chapter days ago and how ironic is this.
Anyway, this is completed. No more will be added.
But I'm thinking of doing a thing of Molly's daughter and Johns son getting together.
