"Nrgghh." Ash muttered as he came to, and tried to sit up on what felt like cold, wet rock. "What the-"
"It's about time you woke up, Ashy." Gary was sitting on the ground near him, "I've been bored out of my fucking mind."
"What!? Gary!" Ash jumped up in surprise, "Where- how are- WHAT IS THIS?"
"Calm down would you? I saw you get knocked off your Lapras and I saved you from drowning." He said, "Man you're lucky I exist."
"Where are we?"
"The Whirl Islands."
"Really?" Ash looked around, "I expected more."
"How so?"
"I don't know, I thought it be more... Whirly..."
"Well I had to cross some whirlpools to get here."
"I guess that counts."
"I don't know where anybody else is though. The storm wiped everyone out, as far as I can tell."
"Wait, where's Lapras?" Ash asked, suddenly feeling panicked.
"I don't know, probably with Silver a-"
"WITH SILVER?" He cried, "MY LAPRAS IS WITH SILVER?"
"What's the problem?"
"SILVER doesn't know how to do anything right! My poor Lapras is DOOMED! DOOMED GARY! DOO. MED. DOOOOOOMED!"
"Silver's not stupid! He's smarter than you!"
"Not when it comes to interacting with living things! He's horribly socially impaired, like YOU!"
"I have social skills jackass!" Gary was irritated now, "Both of us are smarter than you! Now if you're so damn worried, lets go find them and get your stupid pokemon back."
"Okay fine." Ash began to pout.
"Besides, Lyra's probably with them. If anybody knows anything about love and affection, it's her."
"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING YOU IDIOT?!" Lyra shrieked as Silver tried desperately to control the Lapras as it struggled against the waves in panic. "COULD YOU BE MORE STUPID?"
"I SAID I DON'T KNOW HOW TO DRIVE THIS THING!" Silver shouted
"IT'S A POKEMON! NOT A BOAT!" She screamed, "HURRY UP AND DO SOMETHING OR WE'RE GONNA DIE!"
"NYAAAAAAAAAHHH!" Silver's battle cry echoed over the vicious waves as he steered the Lapras towards a nearby Island. There were about three more minutes of horrible screams of fear before they slammed into the beach.
Silver coughed up ocean water and sand. "Are you okay?"
"Let's take shelter in that cave over there before the storm gets worse!" She yelled, trying to drag Lapras with her.
"What are you doing? That thing's too big! Leave it!" He yelled.
"What if it get's hurt?!"
"IT'S A 485 POUND MONSTER WITH A SHELL AND AN UNEXPLAINABLE ABILITY TO SHOOT WATER FROM IT'S MOUTH!" Silver began waving his hands around angrily, "WHAT DO YOU MEAN "WHAT IF IT GETS HURT" ?"
"I can't risk it!"
"GRRRNNNGHAAHH!" Silver growled in frustration before running outside, forcefully ripping Lyra off the Pokemon, and running back into the cave while carrying her over his head. Once they were both safe, he went off on her. "DO YOU REALIZE HOW STUPID YOU ARE?" He scolded, "I CAN'T TIMES NUMBERS, AND I'M AMAZED AT YOUR STUPIDITY!"
"It's called multiplication." Lyra muttered, "Wait, you can't multiply?"
"That is NOT the point." He said, "We need to remember what's important right now. We're stranded here and we have no idea where anybody else is."
"It's not my fault Pokemon hate you."
"QUIET! Listen, if we wanna make it, then we have to look out for ourselves and not worry about some stupid Pokemon." Silver took off his bag and began to rummage through it, "I'm not dying out here because of one of your stupid random acts of kindness, or... something."
"Well I'm sorry Silver, but it's good to be nice to people." Lyra said, "It makes everybody feel good. You should try it if you want to feel better too."
"Oh yeah? Well, whatever." He muttered. "Man, she's cute right now."
A loud clap of thunder came from outside, scaring the Lapras. In a frenzy of confusion and panic, it hit the opening of the cave with an ice beam, causing frozen boulders to fall over the entrance.BOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
"NO! NO! NOOOOOOOO!" Silver screeched at the top of his lungs, "THE CAVE!WE'RE GONNA DIE! WE'RE GONNA DIE IN THE CAVE!"
"Silver! Calm down!"
"HORRIBLE SMELLY CAVE! DARK CAVE! DIRTY!" He fell to his knees and pressed his face against the rocks that blocked the exit. "FILTHY... ugly... cave." he curled up on the ground. " Bad... c- cave... Uggh. Oh...well..."
"Silver, if you can't control yourself, we'll never get out of here." Lyra knelt down beside him, "If we work as a team, I'm sure we'll make it!" She said with a smile.
"Screw you and your sugary sweetness." he thought, "You adorable little piece. You better cuddle me later." The next big struggle was trying not to fantasize about what the snuggle would be like. Or how it would feel. Or for how long...
He looked up and realized that something behind him had caught her attention. "Oh, hello!" She said gazing over him. Silver took a glance over his shoulder and let out a scream of terror.
"So how long are we gonna be here?" Ash asked impatiently. He was still pouty
"I don't know, probably till the storm dies down." Gary said, "Why can't you just be patient? I'm sure we'll get back to everybody soon."
"I don't wanna be stuck here for long." He said, "It's really boring. And the storm is scary."
"You're not scared of a little thunder, are you Ashy- boy?"
"I'm scared of being stuck here with you for this long." Ash growled, "Because you're annoying."
"Ow." Gary thought.
"Hey, how are we gonna leave this island?"
"Wait, what?"
"I told you I don't have Lapras. So how are we gonna get off this island?"
"D- don't you have any other Pokemon?"
"No. So where's yours?"
"Um..." Gary had just realized that he forgot to mention that when he saved Ash, he had screamed bloody murder and jumped into the water without a second thought. Now he had no idea where his Pokemon was. "It... ran away... because it was... scared."
"Figures."
"HE BOUGHT IT!"
"I'm hungry." Ash declared as he stuck his hand in his bag and searched for something to eat. He did this for about four or five minutes before pulling out a potato and holding it in the air like a trophy. "Success!"
"What the-?" Gary said confused, "Of all the possible things to have in there..."
"I can cook it too!" He turned his bag upside down and shook it saying, "Come on buddy." repeatedly until Pikachu fell out of the bag, landing on his face. "Hey friend. I need you to cook a potato."
"I have so many questions right now."
Ash held out the potato in his hand, "Come on buddy, you got this." Pikachu hesitated for a moment, then shocked the potato with everything he had. There were many shrieks and screams of pain. Needless to say, the potato exploded. Bits of steaming hot fried potato went everywhere as Gary and Ash were socked without mercy. When the shocking finally stopped, Gary fell to the ground and Ash grabbed Pikachu and stuffed him back in the bag. "That's the last time I go to that store." He huffed.
"Oooh I'm in terrible pain." Gary muttered as he struggled to move. "I have seen hell." Suddenly, a loud scream echoed from deep inside the cave, making the stalagmites tremble.
"That was our echo, right?"
"How could it be? We don't sound like that."
"Aw crap." Ash whimpered as he back into Gary, "Something evil is in here."
"There's nothing evil here."
"SILENCEEEE!" something screeched from the darkness. "GO AWAY! HELP!"
"IT WANTS MY BLOOD!" Ash grabbed Gary and held on to him tightly, which wouldn't have bothered him if he hadn't just been shocked violently.
"OFF! OF OF ME!" he shoved Ash away from him. "Look here, kid. Thanks to your stupid pokemon and your amazing ability to be a terrible trainer, I now have a phobia of electricity. So, from here on out, I'm calling the shots. Got it? It's the least you could do."
"O- okay..."
"Good, now lets go deeper into the cave."
"WHAT?!"
"We need to find that person and go help them. If we do, they might give us something, like medicine that helps with FRIED ORGANS."
"That's crazy! Do you know what could be down there?"
"Whatever it is, it has to be smarter than YOU."
Silver lept back in shock, his heart pounding from the scare.
"Hello Touko!" Lyra sang happily. "Is N with you too?"
"You mean you haven't seen him?" Touko's voice was composed of unfamiliar desperation and seriousness.
"N-no." Silver staggered to his feet, "Do you think he's okay?"
"He won't be for long."
"What do you mean?"
"He's sort of-" Touko tried to find the right words, "-dependant on me."
"Well I'm sure he can go a couple hours without cuddling his girlfriend." Silver grumbled. He shut up the moment Touko locked eyes with him.
"You don't understand the severity of his condition." she hissed, "So I recommend you keep quiet." Without another word, she tuned and continued down the dark, mangled path alone.
"T- Touko?" Lyra stuttered.
"If you want to come with me, I suggest that you come quickly, and don't ask questions. I'm not in the mood to answer." She glanced back at them, "Finding him is my top priority. I won't leave this cave till I do."
Both of them stayed grounded to the spot, paralyzed with fear. They watched her vanish into the darkness.
"Well, I'm having nightmares tonight." Silver said once he was sure she was gone.
"I wonder what she was talking about..." Lyra felt more troubled now.
"Let's not ask, okay? I'd rather not get my head chewed off by the witch." He said, "They never see it coming."
"Okay. I guess that we can go by ourselves..."
"There are supposed to be four of these islands, let's see if we can get out through the tunnels and out one of the other exists." Silver suggested.
"Oh it seems scary down there."
"Don't worry, " Silver seized his chance, "I'll protect you from whatever horrible thing is down there."
"Let's find the others quickly." Lyra quickened her pace.
"Still?" he thought.
As they continued deeper into the cave, Lyra lost herself in thought . She began to worry about Touko and N, about Ash and Gary, and the Lapras. What was going to happen to that Lapras anyways? What was going to happen to them? Would they even make it out? She glanced over at Silver, and was surprised to see him content and maybe a bit more happy than usual. "Maybe he's right." Lyra thought, "I should relax, everything will be fine."
"I'm in a cave." Silver sang to himself in his mind, "I'm in a cave with LYRAAAA. I'm all alone with LYRAAAA. Nobody else! Just me and LYRAAAAAAA!"
