Thanks for the reviews for the last chapter, some people have some theories about why Sam didn't feel so good, but I'm not going to tell you if you're right, you'll find out in the next chapter.
Anyway, I hope you like this chapter.
Jack saw the change in her demeanour and rushed forward to help her, even as Hammond did the same thing.
Sam however turned away and ran to the wall under the window, where a bin was standing. She gripped hold of it, holding the sides tight, as she threw up her breakfast.
Around her she was aware of people moving away, while she could hear a few people coming towards her. She felt a hand on her lower back and knew that it was Jack's as soon as he began to rub small circles. She was also aware of Janet, Daniel, Teal'c and Hammond appearing at her side.
Janet moved to stand in front of the others, moving closer to Sam, and then crouching slightly to look Sam in the face. She reached out and moved Sam's hair out of her eyes, pushing it away from her forehead, before she said, "Let's get you to the infirmary ok Sam." She looked over to Hammond, "We can finish this later General, when we know why Sam is throwing up."
Hammond nodded in agreement and then made everyone clear a path to the door. Sam waited a few seconds, to see if she had finished being sick before she stood up straight. Daniel handed her a tissue and Sam took it with a nod. She wiped her mouth before throwing it in the bin and then walking out of the door, Jack with his arm around her waist, Janet with her hand on her arm, and Daniel and Teal'c following along close behind.
The corridors were empty because everyone was in the gate room so the journey to the infirmary didn't take too long. As soon as they reached the infirmary Janet sent Hammond away, back to the rest of the base personnel, and Teal'c and Daniel to the other side of the infirmary, out of the way but not out of the room since she knew that they wouldn't go. She tried to send Jack to stand with them but he was having none of it and refused to move from Sam's side.
Janet knew that she wasn't going to win so she let him stand beside the bed that Sam was now sitting on, her head in her hands.
"How are you feeling now?" Janet asked her softly, handing her friend as glass of water as she did so.
"Embarrassed," Sam answered, "I can't believe I threw up in front of everyone." She then looked at Jack, "And I can't believe you didn't tell me."
"I'm sorry," he apologised, "I wanted it to be a surprise."
"Well that it certainly was," Sam answered.
Janet smiled at the two of them before saying, "Well I'll run some blood tests, to see what's up with you." She paused for a moment before asking, "Did you feel sick this morning, even just a little nauseous?"
Sam shook her head. "I felt fine right up until the point that I didn't."
"Have you eaten anything that you wouldn't normally eat?" Janet questioned.
Sam shook her head again and Janet made a note of it. "Have you bumped your head recently? Even just a light knock?"
"No," Sam said, "And the answers no to everything else you're going to ask I'm sure. I haven't done anything that I wouldn't normally do over the last few days."
Janet nodded in understanding. "Give me your arm please," Janet then said, holding up a needle to take blood.
Sam took her arm out of her jacket and let it fall away before she rolled up her sleeve and offered Janet her arm.
Janet quickly took a few vials of blood, enough to run a few tests to see what had caused Sam to throw up.
Janet then took them to get them tested, putting a rush on it so that they would get the result back quickly and know if it was something she'd picked up off world that had the possibility of being contagious.
Once Janet had left with the blood Daniel and Teal'c came over to stand by the bed while Jack sat down next to Sam on the bed.
"How are you feeling now?" Daniel asked her.
"Ok," Sam replied, "I don't know what came over me but now I feel fine."
Daniel nodded and the four of them fell into silence. That was how Janet found them when she came back from dropping off the blood samples. "Still feeling ok Sam?" she asked as she came to a stop between Daniel and Teal'c.
Sam nodded. "I have no idea what came over me, one minute I felt fine and then the next I didn't. I feel fine again now."
Janet nodded her head in understanding. "All we need to do now is wait for your test results to come through. They shouldn't take too long though, there's nothing else waiting to be tested at the moment."
Sam nodded and Jack took a hold of her hand and gave it a comforting squeeze. Sam looked at him and he gave her a reassuring smile. "I'm sure it's nothing serious," he said in a low voice, "Just a stomach bug or something."
Sam didn't look so sure, she was pretty sure it wasn't a stomach bug since it had only been that one moment of nausea, but she didn't want to say anything about it.
The five all sat and spoke for a little while until the alarm on her watch began to bleep. "I'll be right back," she said as she stood and headed out of the room.
Sam, Jack, Daniel and Teal'c all watched her go and then feel into silence as they waited for Janet to return.
They didn't have to wait long and soon Janet was walking back towards them, a piece of paper in her hand, and an unreadable expression on her face.
Jack and Sam shared a look; Sam scared by Janet's expression since if it was just a stomach bug then there would be no way she would look like that.
"I need to speak to Sam alone ok," Janet stated as she came to a stop at the end of the bed. She saw the men all open their mouths to argue and said, "I mean it. Out. No ifs, no buts, out."
Daniel tried to give her the puppy eyes but Janet just glared at him and he and Teal'c walked out of the room. Jack looked at Sam and kissed her temple lightly. "I'll be right outside," he told her.
Sam nodded then turned her fearful expression to Janet, wondering what her results said that had made Janet kick the men out of the room.
