Fairytale Madness
Summary: Classic princess happily ever after fairytales are going to be redone in another's point of view while maintaining the same essential plot. (Plus you can use the plot for any fandom, all you have to do is insert the character cast and ta-daa!)
Cinderella: Stepmother. She never wanted any of this. Betrothed and forced into an arranged marriage, the young maiden suffers under the hands of her new husband. Once he is carted off and executed for treason, she flees with her two daughters to another land, where she meets a kind gentleman. In love, she marries him only to have him die a few years later. Depression sets in as she loses her unborn daughter a few weeks after he dies. Once she found out, she takes out all of her anger, sadness, and self-hatred on her stepdaughter, seeing the stepdaughter as the child of her love and someone not her. [And then the canon storyline]
Beauty and the Beast: Sorceress. Born into poverty, she was gifted with magic and yet, she was viewed as a freak. Growing up unwanted and orphaned not through death but through abandonment, the young girl closed herself to the world, making her way through life as a budding sorceress. Drafted as a mage for the kingdom, she catches the prince's eye who after a severe series of misadventures, courts her. Except, it wasn't that simple. The prince destroys her heart as he betrays her ruthlessly through adultery and abuse, admitting that he was only using her for her talents as she restores the kingdom into prosperity. Pregnant, she flees the kingdom and finds her way into to the palace in the forest. Disguised as an old lady to hide her situation, she begs for shelter in the castle, only to get rebuffed by the young arrogant heir of the castle. Losing her temper and being reminded of her husband, she curses the young prince and the castle, leaving immediately to the nearby town, where a merchant took pity on her. Taking her in, she gives birth to a young healthy daughter with all of her powers also. Fearing for her daughter's life, she locks her daughter's powers away, making sure that the only thing the magic can do for her lovely Belle was to enhance her features and inner soul. Using the last remnants of her gift, she blesses the merchant for his good deed and dies from blood loss and a broken heart.
Sleeping Beauty (Sun, Moon, and Talia version): Queen. She was never given much as a kid. Raised to be a perfect lady and wife, she did all that she was told. When she met the king, she fell head over heels in love with the charming lad. She did the best to win his hand, and when she did, she felt like she was at the top of the world. Only to find out that a few days after he proposed, he cheated on her with a sleeping girl in the forest, distraught with grief that her perfect world is shattered, her mind breaks, leaving behind a vengeful and insane wife. Especially when, on their wedding night, he whispers her name instead of her own. [The original Sleeping Beauty story]
Tangled: Mother Gothel. Gothel was born weak as a child, always ill and needed to be taken care of frequently by the nurses and maids. Her own parents left her alone for months at a time, saying that she was of no real use. She was told tales of magic and mystery growing up by her nanny. One day, on one of the few days where she had enough energy to move about, she and her nanny went out to the forest. There, she found the sunlight flower by singing the lullaby her nanny sang to her. Mystified, she continued to sing, clapping happily as it glowed. When the nanny found her, she dragged Gothel back to her castle, ignoring the yellow flower that glowed faintly. Gothel was weak, but the flower glowing made her stronger. She sneaked out often, and the castle and all of its occupants were amazed at her miraculous recovery. The only problem was, after she reached maturity, she never aged as much as everyone around her did. The castle fell into ruins as the kingdom brought itself to war. Watching as the love of her life painfully dies, she never wanted to do so, deciding to use the flower to remain youthful but she hoarded the magic flower, making sure it was kept hidden from everyone else especially since they would be cursed like she would, to never age without feeling as if the cells of her body was rebelling in itself, needing the sustainment of magic forever. But one day, the new rulers of the kingdom centuries later were searching for the flower and in her haste, she upturned the covering for it. Now, all she can do is take care of the cursed princess, hiding her away from the world as even using it a few times, allowing the magic to seep into the life essence of the soul, would curse them also. And in the end, all of her work was for nothing, as she watched the girl she thought of as a daughter curse her love to the same tragedy she herself did, saving them only to have them suffer alter on. Dying, her last thoughts were why she let this all happen in the first place, why she didn't destroy the flower when she first found it, to die with the love of her life years before.
So…I read too much and a bunch of the fairytale fanfiction made all of *waves hand* this come out. My muse is killing me with all of these ideas. T.T If any of you want to use them, be my guest. Just PM me the story link since I want to read it. I don't think I have anything else to say.
Damn, I just realized I updated this series four times in just one day. How come I have so much inspiration?
