Chapter 13: One more day
xxXXxx
It took them a few days for everyone to get back in shape especially with the recent encounter of poison cooking. Tsuna was still stuck in an office, thanks to paperwork—Man, that never gets old (Reborn). Same old, same old.
Tsuna remained glued to a working chair, along with a working desk—and papers… and pens. He scribbled in his signature; how he wished he was being paid by the minute but no~ He's a boss—A freaking mafia boss that does everything for his family. A little profit wouldn't hurt, right? He sighed and stretched his limbs, suddenly craving for some fresh air. The brunet stifled in a yawn as he continued to stretch his body.
Out of the blue a squeaky voice spoke, "Are you done, Dame-Tsuna?"
Said brunet suddenly squeaked and fell down of his chair, wincing as his head came in contact with the hard floor, with a "HIIIEE!" together with it.
"Itte-te-te! What was that for, REBORN?!" The brunet complained as he slowly stood up from his position. He rubbed the back of his head, feeling a little bump forming.
The sun arcobaleno stared at his student for a good while—which wasn't long enough for Tsuna to get the message, "Please do tell me that's a joke…" Tsuna pleaded. He was still answered by the very same stare from his tutor.
"AAAAAHHH!" The brunet frustratedly shouted in the air, with his hands clutching his head, "WHY DOES THIS ALWAYS HAPPEN TO ME?!"
xxXXxx
BOOM!
CLANK!
BANG! BANG! BANG!
It was like a real life war in the simulating room—except there was no bloodshed (okay a few bloodsheds, but nothing of the dreadful). Each group was holding their ground, with the group leaders as the lead. The groups have their own forts for defense—which was near to collapsing. The simulation room was programmed to simulate a dessert with a dreadful sand storm. All of the participants were wearing a whole-body coat to cover themselves from the sand.
All elements leader were in cambio forma. They were all very tired, but none thought of giving up. The students rested inside the fort—definitely knocked-out from the non-stop battle.
BOOMMMM!
A mine hidden below the sand exploded. Sand flew in the air (Which really didn't help, considering the simulated sand storm). It was nearly zero-visibility because of the explosion, and all element leaders took this as an opportunity.
Hibari used his propagating skills and got out a lot of mini Roll. Gokudera fired triple bombs plus an Uri bomb. Mukuro created a lot of real illusions of people his opponents care for with his *Khak-khara. Adult Lambo attacked full force with his wide horns. Ryohei punched a full-blown Maximum Canon. And, Yamamoto attacked with his two-sword style, *Kirisame.
Everything exploded simultaneously.
More sand spewed uncontrollably.
A huge hole of where they had attacked appeared. And, huge heaps of sand stocked at random places. The sand storm continued its job of messing with their sight. All figures fell on their knees one by one. The last attack sucked the energy out of them. On cue, their forts collapsed—signaling the end of the battle mania.
The sand storm slowly settled, finally showing the disheveled looks on everyone. A sink hole opened and sucked all of the sand until all was left was the white floor. The element leaders panted very hard, it was a full-time, non-stop battle. They themselves have no idea of how long they have been doing it.
BZZT! BZZT!
"E…to, Minna-san, the simulation is now finished! Uhh… The battle is a draw…" Gianini announced through the microphone, hesitantly. He eyed the people in the room with careful eyes. They need a full rest and the element leaders are no exceptions to that, "P-Please do take a rest and—what—EH—WAIT!"
"Just let me say something to them."
All participants suddenly perked upon hearing that voice.
It was Tsuna!
… And he was not happy with what he was seeing. Upon seeing a clearer look, there were cracks in the walls, and there is that massive hole for crying out loud! "Oi…" Tsuna darkly muttered through the microphone.
A dark shadow casted under everyone's face, with buckets of sweat profusely falling down, through the glass window, they could see Tsuna's dark face. The brunet had his brown eyes narrowed down to the sharpest level, with them gleaming in the light. Brows more furrowed than usual and dark circles lay under his eyes.
"Why are you fighting without my permission?"
Everyone gulped, feeling the deadly atmosphere around the brunet.
"Be prepared…" After that, the brunet left the place. The rest let out a sigh of relief.
"Eto… please vacate the area and take a rest." Gianini requested. The people dragged themselves out of their places and trudged out of the room. They were seriously exhausted and no one even bothered to create a conversation.
As they got out, another room awaited them. Opening it would reveal sets of beds. All eyes suddenly sparkled and jumped at every vacant ones.
Oh. My. GOD! Being on a bed never felt this GOOD!
A little man riding a floating vehicle entered the place, accidentally crushing Gokudera. He had unproportioned eyes and was also wearing a black suit. He eyed the occupants of the room before turning to the guardians—shakily, "A-Ano… Ju-Juudaime… wants to see you all…"
"A-Arre?! Where is Gokudera-sama?!"
"I AM FUCKING UNDERNEATH YOU!"
"OH MY GOODNESS! I'M SO SORRY!" Gianini floated back but unfortunately crushed Yamamoto instead. Again, Gianini apologized and tried to move out of the way—but only knocked Gokudera back to the ground (again).
"OI! Gianini! JUST GET OUT OF THE WAY!" Gokudera shouted.
"I am! I am! It's just that… Oh." The small man's gears exploded and his machine went haywire. He went round and round, flipping the beds of the poor students (They didn't pick themselves up though). His machine went up and down, scratching the walls—ceilings included—the wall papers were also scraped in the process.
Tsuna would definitely not like this.
Knowing (almost) what their boss might do to them, they ran out of the room, taking all the blame on Gianini. Besides… Tsuna's blood was already boiling just from them…
xxXXxx
Tsuna let his eyes stayed glued to the ceiling. His mind was in the range of paperworks, repairs, money, and more paperwork. He was starting to think that a little money for doing paperworks really wouldn't hurt but it was a duty to be done as a boss—not a secretary. He deeply inhaled then exhaled. A nice break from everything would be nice… but the battle was just a few weeks away—but maybe—no—just a little—NO!
An irritated expression made its way to Tsuna's face… Even my mind is against me… He mentally said. Tsuna accidentally tipped his foot a little too hard, causing him to fall down to the ground, together with the chair.
"You seem to be having fun, Tsunayoshi-kun~!"
"—Te-te-te… Byakuran..? What are you doing here?" Tsuna asked as he got up, picking up the fallen chair as well.
"Just came to drop by~" Byakuran answered. He went to Tsuna's side to help him stand up before saying anything else, "And, I'm also here to request a friendly battle with you and your guardians!" He added.
"Ahaha…ha… Gomen… I don't think that's going to happen..," The brunet sadly rejected. Byakuran shot a curious look until the door creaked open, revealing Tsuna's guardians… who are all tired beyond everything.
"Now, I get it." The white haired answered.
He slowly walked to the tired Vongola guardians and examined them one by one. A mischievous grin broke from his face then flicked Ryohei's forehead and like a domino effect, they fell down—with the exemption of Hibari, who stepped back just before that had happened, with faces showing, 'FUCK YOU BYAKURAN!' Pain and fatigue got the best of them.
Byakuran merely shrugged and retained his grin, "Ne, Tsunayoshi-kun, where's Shou-chan?"
"Shouichi-kun is in the designated place actually…"
"EHH?!" Byakuran childishly whined, "Why?!"
The brunet covered his ears from the volume, "He and Spanner are the ones who will make reservations! We're leaving tomorrow!" He shouted, half glaring and half twitching in annoyance. He went to his working desk and grabbed a paper. It was a grand hotel where they were staying, "The grand battle will happen in 20 days. I have to move now or we would end up cramming every single thing."
"Speaking of cramming…" Reborn jumped out of nowhere and landed on Byakuran's shoulder, "You have more papers waiting to be signed." On cue, the infant pressed a big red button, opening a trap door on the ceiling. The color of white crowded Tsuna's vision—which indicated just one thing. PAPERWORKS.
"HIIEE! WHY DO YOU ALWAYS TORTURE ME?!" The poor brunet, now covered in papers, whined. Reborn only smirked, "Because it is fun."
"DARN IT REBORNN!"
xxXXxx
It was already diner time and every participant had gathered around—with the exception of the boss, who is still having a business with the papers. All sorts of food from, viands to desserts of different varieties were arranged gracefully at the long table. The guardians sat at their respective seats as well as Kozato and his. The utensils clanked by the glass plate. Everyone enjoyed the meal prepared by Kyoko and Haru (Bianchi was convinced that those people didn't deserve her cooking)
A few moments have passed and the double door partially opened, and a contented Reborn jumped to the table, "Ciaossu!"
"Yo!" Yamamoto greeted, "Want to eat? It really, really good!"
"Sure." With that, Reborn got his own seat with a few pillows stacking on his chair. He reached for the carbonara and some nice wine. Lambo suddenly approached from behind, "GYAHAHA! REBORN! PREPARE FOR MY SUPER SECRET TECHNIQUE—GUPYA!" A fork went into his afro in a dreadful speed. Reborn continued to eat in peace.
The people eating pretended that it didn't happen but Gokudera didn't resist the small mutter coming out of him, "That stupid cow is so stupid…"
The cow child slid down from the wall, "Hold… it … in… I CAN'T! WAAAAHHHH!"
On cue, Haru and Kyoko came out the kitchen, running to the crying Lambo, "Hahi! Why is Lambo-chan crying desu?" Haru first asked.
"La-Lambo-san was all 'WHOOOSSHH!' then 'ssshhhh!' then 'BAMMMM!' and then, and then!" The cow child gestured what had happened to him and finally, "REBORN HIT THE GREAT LAMBO-SAMA!"
Kyoko patted the little one on the head before picking him up, "Lambo-kun, I'm guessing you were trying to do a sneak attack again." Lambo nodded.
"Come on, Lambo-chan, let's eat! HARU IS STARVING DESU!" The eccentric brunette shouted, grabbing a seat of her own. Kyoko did the same, setting Lambo back to his seat—as if nothing had happened—and started to eat their part.
Soon enough, Tsuna emerged from the door—life sucked out. He staggered his way to the table with the seat at the center (Since that really is his place) and sat there—and slept instead.
"Ju-Juudaime..?" His right hand man slowly said.
"Tsuna?" Yamamoto also said.
Everyone directed their eyes on the now sleeping brunet, "I don't know about you, but you should be thankful that you work under him." Reborn stated, earning curious looks from the rest.
"Tsuna, I mean. You should be thankful that you work for him."
"Why would you say that..?" Misaki slowly asked. More curious looks came about by Misaki's words. They directed their heads to the infant, expecting some sort of answer.
"Your boss over there"—Reborn pointed to the sleeping brunet—"Has been busy with the arrangements for the place you would be staying at."—Tsuna shifted his head to the side, stifling a yawn and murmuring something in the process—"Your typical mafia boss would've thrown that aside and don't give a damn, but he, on the other hand, prioritized your arrangements—that also includes the expenses you do every day—and yes, that includes the damages done day by day of your progress. You have no idea how much a gratitude of thanks means to him. Try to show that you care sometimes… you'll be surprised how he treats you back." Reborn finished and jumped out of the chair, muttering a 'Thanks for the meal'.
The door closed once again, and a pregnant silence was born. They slowly finished their meal. It didn't become like your usual rowdy bunch, wherein it ended in disaster every time an argument happens. Even the guardians stayed in silence. Looking back, they always did make a mess out of everything—disaster here, disaster there, and more disaster over there.
The two girls suddenly exchanged looks and nodded determinately. Kyoko and Haru stood up, "Ne, how about we do something in exchange for Tsuna-kun's hard work?" The auburn haired girl whispered, but loud enough to be heard by the crowd and quiet enough for Tsuna not to hear.
"I'm sure everyone has something in mind or two, desu!" Haru excitingly muttered.
Everyone smiled as the thick air just awhile ago completely disappeared because of those two. And everyone gave out their opinions:
"I know! We should go and clean this place!"
"No! We should prepare a nice meal for him!"
"Nah! That's not good! We should throw a party!"
One by one, everybody gave out an opinion or two, as suggested—but kept in mind that they should control their volume. Kyoko and Haru listed all the possible ideas of what to show Tsuna—but the best idea came out of his best friend, Enma, "How about we do the papers for Tsuna this time?"
"That's it!—"
"SSSHHHH! You might wake him idiot!" Gokudera hissed. Yamamoto only showed an apologetic face
"Then it's decided!" Yamamoto whispered/shouted (?) "We will sort out Tsuna's papers for him! AND throw a party!"
The class shouted in a whispery manner (?) an 'O!' sound before finishing their food and tidying up.
Everyone seemed to be on sync as one threw a plate; another student effortlessly caught it—as if already expecting it—without any worries. No one bumped on who and they were talking to one another—no more 'own worlds' and such—of course they still had a hard time talking to the prefect and some of the guardians but it was still good. Everything was going real smooth and it was like almost living in an equal society because the people who declared themselves 'popular' were actually talking to the 'less popular' ones. A genuine smile casted on the class' face—and that includes Nezu's.
The guardians smiled at the sight—smirk in Hibari and Mukuro's case—as they saw how their boss' attribute was working, 'Harmony'. Tsuna's title really suits him the most. This wouldn't have progressed so far without that adorable brunet's abilities. He has truly embraced the elements of the sky and harmonized them to work together. Yes, there were a few—a lot actually—roadblocks along the way but he was just so amazing to smoothen things out just like that.
The sky has the power to accept and envelop all.

Awww~ Reborn was sweet at the last part, ne~?

-Something sweet-
The class had finished doing the final chores for the night. The final instruction was to rest for tomorrow's trip. As they got of the kitchen, they saw Tsuna still fast asleep. It was really a real shame to wake up Tsuna right at the moment. At that time, Kyoko walked pass the crowd and made a 'shush' gesture. They watched the Namimori Idol slowly walk to the sleeping brunet.
"Tsu-kun, wake up or you'll catch a cold." Kyoko gently said, poking his cheek. She heard the brunet murmur something incoherent and went back to sleeping. She gently smiled at the movement but continued to wake him nonetheless, "Hora, you need to go to bed, now wake up." She shook the brunet by the shoulder.
They saw the brunet groggily wake up, eyes squinting as if trying to focus on what he was trying to see. He suddenly grinned then fell on the Idol, then went back to sleeping—but that was at the class' point of view.
From Kyoko's point of view, she just giggled as she heard Tsuna mutter something into her ear, "You know what..? You looked so cute just now when you tried to sound like my mom…" After that statement, Tsuna staggered back to his two feet, wobbling unsteadily. His eyes were half-open and looked back to Kyoko's direction, "Good night…"
"Oyasumi, Tsu-kun…"
A gentle smile appeared on Tsuna's face and placed a kiss on Kyoko's forehead before leaving.
The class had to either silently gasp or squeal at the sight.
A light blush emerged from Kyoko's cheek, fingers ghosting her forehead, where the kiss was placed. A small smile appeared on the girl's face, "Oyasumi…"

How was that! I hope I didn't make this a little too shabby… But still, it's done! I can't be as good as her but Alpha male helped with some of the errors, anything else that you see that is off is solely my fault!
