A/N: Thank you guys for your amazing reviews. So as promised here is an early update and it is a longer chapter. And just to clarify things with some reader who felt offended that I held the story hostage so I could get reviews. I am sorry if I hurt your feelings or something. It was never my intention. Through the three review thing I just wanted to know that people have read the last chapter so that I could upload this chapter sooner, because I couldn't wait for you guys to read it. Also if I wanted to do such things to force you guys to review I would have asked for way more than three reviews which I already get for the chapters I upload. I do feel sad that the person stopped reading the story due to this, but I guess that is up to you finally. But thanks for sharing with me how you felt.

Sorry for the rambling, I just didn't expect that to happen with the last chapter. Anyways enjoy this new chapter.

DISCLAIMER: I do not own NCIS or any of the characters, Adena is a piece of my imagination. The rest belong to CBS and I do not make any profit with this story.

CHAPTER 13

Ziva turned in her chair to see who was this person that suddenly made her fiancée very aggressive.

The person who she faced with was the last complication she needed right now.

Ziva too got up from her chair, and looked at the man accusingly, " I asked your secretary, not to schedule your visit here. Why are you here Abba?" Ziva said as she came from behind her desk and stood in front of her father.

"Well shalom to you too my daughter." Eli said sarcastically.

"I asked you what you are doing here?" Ziva hissed as she neared the man she once tried so hard being a daughter to.

She felt Tony moving away from Gibbs and coming up behind her.

"Ziva there is something I need to talk to you about." Eli said in a pleading tone that was very hard to believe, especially coming from someone who sent his daughter to a suicide mission.

"I have nothing to talk to you." she said choking on emotions she didn't understand why they resurfaced as she turned and left the bullpen immediately.

Eli made to follow her when Tony blocked his path, "Didn't you hear what she said?" Tony asked standing face to face with Tony.

"Agent DiNozzo, I am not surprised with the resentment you have for me. For all I made my daughter go through, I deserve nothing better."

"But this old man has made a mistake more than that. I...I didn't know what had happened with her a year ago until now. "

"'You have no idea of the agony a father has to go through when he sees his baby being tortured." Eli said in a voice that Tony never thought in a million he would hear.

Of all the things Tony expected the tough badass Mossad director to do, standing here pleading, with tears welling in his eyes, asking to talk with his daughter ,was the last of them.

But he was right , if he ever had to see Ana going through anything Ziva had gone through then he would go crazy without ripping off the man to pieces.

On a level of a father to another he understood where Eli was coming from, regardless of what a poor excuse of a father he was up until now

He shrugged off Gibbs hand holding him back as he went towards Eli David.

"Follow me. but remember this, even one word you say to upset her I'll kick your ass out of here. And I don't care who you are or how many body guards you have." Tony said as he left the bullpen and headed to the break room where he was sure Ziva had gone to.

Eli asked the Mossad agent who had come with him to stay right there, and he himself followed Tony.

Tony was standing in the doorway to the break room, watching Ziva as she sat there on the couch staring out the window.

Eli came up behind Tony and looked at Ziva as well, after a brief nod to Tony he went towards his daughter.

Tony stepped a bit away from the break room to give his fiancée some privacy with her father.

Ziva looked to her side and saw her father coming, she quickly got up from the couch wiping away the tears from her face. She started to go out of the room when suddenly her father caught her hand.

She turned around and for the first time after the consecutive deaths of her mother and Tali, she saw tears in her father's eyes.

20 years before, when her family was ripped apart one fine morning, when she and her father were left bare amongst the ruins and tainted with blood of their once happy family, that was when Eli had hugged her and cried aloud for the family he had lost. But after that fateful day, she had in front of her own eyes, seen him change from the very loving and caring father to the monster with a vengeance she knew for the past two decades.

"Bevakasha tataleh." Eli pleaded. "please just talk to me this one time."

Ziva could see that something in him had changed, he was not the same man who had sent her to the torture camp at Somalia.

Eli placed a hand on the back of her head and with tears welling his eyes and emotions choking him he gently brought his daughter to his chest and held her tightly.

Ziva had a war waging in her head, after all that happened all these years here she was having what she had yearned for since she was a child. Her father was acknowledging her as his child just like he used to when she was a kid. But the memories of all the things he had put her through wanted her to scream at him and run away.

But this moment of openness, the feeling of being cared for by someone who you were born to trust. the need to let go off, for once to be someone's child rather than an adult who needed to bottle their troubles up. And feeling that for once she didn't care about anything else, she didn't need to watch her back, because after a long time she was in her abba's arms .

The feelings were overwhelming and she brought her hands up and held on to her father's jacket tightly, and let out a sob that she had been holding on for more than a decade.

Tony was intrigued at the silence from within and so he peeked inside to see the heart warming embrace of a father and daughter. It was just like the hugs he and Ana had after a trying day at work. And looking at Eli he saw a broken man, a man who had put his heart in the wrong place and repented for all he had lost as a result. Tony understood he had nothing more to be worried about Ziva was in safe hands, with her dad.

Eli brought both of them over to the couch and sat down with his daughter's head still on his shoulder, he kissed the top of her head lightly and stroked her hair and looked down to see his little girl that he had lost years ago. All due to his own fault.

"My little angel." Eli whispered to Ziva's forehead all the while caressing her head.

Ziva broke into fresh sobs after hearing that, it had been so long since she had heard her father call her by that name.

He used to kiss her goodnight and call her that way before Tali was even born. And even after Tali was born, her abba always made sure she got her bedtime story and a kiss goodnight.

"Abba." she whispered. "Why now?" "Why after so many years?" she asked tilting her head upwards.

Eli gently moved her to a distance so he could see her face properly. The beautiful face that reminded him of his late wife, Rivka.

"I had lost so much so quickly, in just one day , that I never stopped to acknowledge or appreciate the beautiful little angel I still had. I am so very sorry Ziva." he said as he held her petite hands in his larger ones.

"Seeing you reminded me of all that I had lost, all my failures as a husband as a father. And before I knew it I turned your life upside down. it was not fair to you. I made the mistake of not protecting my family and you had to carry the weight of my misdeeds." Eli said looking into his little girl's brown orbs.

"Ziva if you can find it in your heart please try to forgive this old man for all he has put you through. I don't deserve to call this beautiful little girl my daughter. But for all that you have achieved and become despite my sins I am so proud of you Ziva."

"Abba, why are you here now?" she asked knowing that there was something more to this sudden change of events than an old man's regret.

"Ziva you have to know this, that summer when you got held captive in Somalia, I tried my best to bring you back. I didn't say anything to you till now because of my regret that being your father I couldn't bring my baby back home safe."

"Even after that I made the mistake of trying to force you to come back to me by sending in officer Ben Gideon. Ziva it is after that I realised my biggest regret of all, being a failure as a father. I understood that you were better off without a father like me."

"You searched for me?" Ziva asked.

"Yes tataleh I did all I could, but everything is different from what it used to be. There is only so much sources that I can rely on anymore. I failed you again Ziva, and it killed me to even think what you might have been through in that camp." Eli said.

"Every night I had nightmares of what they might have done with you. That was until last week when I got an anonymous tape showing exactly what they did." Eli said in a haunted voice.

Ziva's head snapped up at this, her eyes wide in shock expecting to hear the worse from him.

"I lost it Ziva, all I wanted to do was come here and hug my daughter close to me and never let go. I promised myself that whatever be the price I will come here and protect you and never let any other filth touch you. But then I realised I was too late." Eli said.

Ziva gasped in shock.

"A week after I got the tape. I got a note as well." he said as he took out a piece of paper from his pocket and gave it to her.

"Eli David,

Did you know that your little baby girl has a baby of her known. Yes congratulations grandpa David , you have a beautiful little granddaughter. I know a child out of wedlock is a bit unconventional, but we will see to that soon.

Sincerely,

your soon to be son-in-law and father of your granddaughter,

Ray Cruz.

P.S. I hope you enjoyed the tape I gave you last week.

Ziva crumpled the paper and threw it away before slumping forward with her head in her hands. Everything that Ray did disgusted her, he was an expert at playing mind games. Without being near her, he made her feel dirty and made her sick to her stomach.

"At first I didn't understand why your boyfriend would send such a tape of yours to me. But then I started enquiring and came to know about all that happened the previous year. I wanted to come here and personally kill that bastard but fortunately for him he is in prison." Eli said anger pulsing in his every word.

Eli placed a hand on her shoulder and Ziva straightened up and looked at him. There was an emotion within that he very well knew. The fire to protect.

"Abba for the last year not only has he tortured me but also all those I love, Gibbs, Tony, now you. He also tried to kill my baby." with that she broke into sobs.

"I love her abba, no matter how she was conceived she is my soul, my everything I can't let anything happen to her. But as days pass I feel so helpless, like, what I am doing is not enough." Ziva said as she was clinging to her father and crying all her frustrations out.

Eli held on to her tightly, "it never feels enough Zivaleh, our children do that to us. They are so precious that even if we give our life for them it feels like we haven't done enough." he said soothing her and stroking her head.

"But you are not alone, my angel. I may have failed you as a father, but for my granddaughter I am going to go to the ends of the earth to keep her and her mommy safe and happy. " Eli said looking down at his daughter.

"Besides you have your entire family here Gibbs, Abby, Agent McGee, and ..." he lifted her left hand and inspected her engagement ring. "looking at this I guess a special someone?" he said and smiled softly.

Ziva looked down at her ring and nodded. 'Tony', the thought alone made her troubles go away. For the first time in her life she had the two most important men in her life with her , her abba and her Tony. With them her Adena will be safe, protected, cared for and above all loved.

"Let me make a guess?" Eli said playfully, as he straightened up never letting go of Ziva's hand, as Ziva lifted herself off of her father's embrace.

"Isn't that special someone, Agent DiNozzo?" he asked looking at his daughter who had her head bowed and a soft smile on her face.

Ziva lifted her head and smiled beautifully at her father, "the one and only."

Eli laughed lightly at his daughters suddenly bright face, "he is a good man." Eli said to Ziva.

"The very best." Ziva said looking at Eli. " he is the most amazing father to Ana, he doesn't care that she is not his blood. You should see them together at home. Ana is completely daddy's little princess and she has Tony wrapped around her little fingers." Ziva said in a adoring tone.

"Well I guess she is as smart and beautiful as her mommy." Eli commented seeing her daughter's face glow talking about her family.

"Do I get to meet the little one?" Eli asked.

Ziva's head snapped up at the question, and she smiled.

"Yes, of course in fact we can go down to the day care right now. I usually make a visit during my lunch break." Ziva said excited.

Both Ziva and Eli got up and walked out of the break room. In the hallway Ziva saw Tony standing there leaning against the door to the stairway.

Ziva went up to him and kissed him lightly on the lips, Tony who hadn't heard them come opened his eyes to see his beautiful fiancée standing there with a smile, and her father coming towards them with a smile on his face too.

"Tony we are going to the day care. I want Abba to meet Ana." Ziva said to him.

"Sure sweet heart. Go ahead." Tony said.

"Actually, Ziva I need to talk to Agent DiNozzo alone. You go ahead we will follow you in just a few minutes." Eli said coming to stand in front of Tony.

Ziva nodded her head as she got in the elevator and went down to the care.

"So agent DiNozzo, I hope I haven't given you any reason to kick my ass out of here?" Eli said to Tony.

Tony started regretting saying what he did, even though Eli was at fault and deserved every insult, the man sure was intimidating. No wonder he was director of Mossad.

"No sir, Ziva seems happy, so am I ." Tony said looking into Eli's eyes.

"I can't thank you enough agent DiNozzo, for all that you have given to my little girl." Eli said sincerely.

"Sir she has given me more happiness in life than I can ever repay back. I love her more than anything." Tony said.

Eli smiled and nodded gently.

"We are family now DiNozzo, call me Eli." he said.

"Call me Anthony." Tony said as he lead the way to the elevator.

A/N: So there it is a very changed version of Eli. Because I feel there is only so much a parent can see their child suffer, in silence before they break. Even the tough Mossad director David. Hope you enjoyed it as much I enjoyed writing it. And kindly leave a review on your way out , it will make me happy.
