Charlotte's POV

"Hello love, I hoped I'd find you sooner or later" Cole beamed, as he sat across from me at my booth in the juice net.

I looked up at him a little taken back that he had just made himself welcome, not that I was complaining about him being here I rather enjoy his company

"Um, hello?" I said not knowing what else to say.

"So what are we having, I'm starving" Cole asked, grabbing a menu from the centre of the table.

"Well I... I have already ordered and to be honest I wasn't exactly expecting company" I kind of mumbled to him.

"That's fine I'll just have whatever your having" Cole replied, as he put his menu back and motioned over a waiter, who thankfully wasn't Emma or Ash then he asked the waiter for what I ordered. Saying he will have what I had.

I let out a laugh not knowing what else to do in this situation, here I was just out for some lunch because the baby was finally letting me eat, and then in walks Cole and makes himself comfortable.

"You don't even know what I've ordered" I said with a shy laugh.

"I'm sure I will love whatever it is"Cole replied with a smile. "So just for arguments sake what did you order"

I let out a laugh before saying. "you will just have to wait and see"

Oh great I was flirting with him again, I can not fall for this guy I just can't.

"Come on don't be like that" Cole said teasingly.

"Hey I'm not the one who ordered something without knowing what it was" I replied, trying my best to stay serious but failing miserably.

Cole gave me a look and before I knew it we were having a stare off, that was until we both started bursting out laughing.

"So why did you hope to see me" I asked while trying to catch my breath.

"Why do you need to ask love, don't you enjoy my company" Cole asked me with a pout.

"No I do enjoy your company I just well, was wondering why you were looking for me that's all" I told him.

Nobody has ever actually wanted to see me because they want to, and ever since I got pregnant the only person I have felt comfortable around and who actually hung out with me was Lewis, and I didn't want to risk hanging out with new people while I was pregnant. Enough people knew already and I didn't want that list to grow.

"I enjoy your company, and I haven't really seen you around school since the first day, it's now Thursday and I haven't seen the lovely Charlotte Watsford, who thinks my name is hot" Cole stated.

"I really am never going to live that down am I" I asked.

I can literally feel my cheeks turning red.

Cole let out a laugh. "Never"

"So you thought the only way to get my attention was to crash my after school pig out session, instead of finding me at school at the same place I sit at every lunch"

"Pretty much" he replied.

"Well what fun is an afternoon pig out session without someone to pig out with you"

"That's the sprit love, again what is it we are actually having" Cole asked.

But he didn't need ask because just at that minute the waiter came over with our food. I got 1 large bowl of chips with chicken salt and gravy, a chocolate Thickshake and last but not least a big piece of mudcake.

"Well I like a girl who isn't afraid to eat" was all that Cole said to my pregnancy induced feast.

"Is that supposed to be a complement" I asked raising an eyebrow.

"Um a compliment" he said as he started to eat a chip.

"I still don't know how to take that, so I'm just going to eat my chips"

A bowl of chips and half a mudcake later I had learned that Cole was an only child who had a knack for talking way to much, and had just moved back to Australia after living in London since he was two, him and his family had come back for his last year of school and for his fathers job.

"And what about you miss Charlotte Watsford, what is your life's story" Cole asked.

That was a hard question to answer seeing as it involved being the granddaughter of a mermaid, growing up without a father, becoming a mermaid, unbecoming a mermaid and carrying the child of my ex boyfriend who is cruelty dating a mermaid, who I tried to take her powers away and who is friends with a psychopathic mermaid who tried to kill my baby.

"My life is rather uneventful,quite boring actually"

"I hardly believe that's true" Cole said.

"Well what do you want me to say, that I used to have magical powers that were taken from me but I got them back because I redeemed myself in ways that proved I was worthy of possessing them in the first place"I asked.

I suppose telling the semi truth may seem just crazy enough not to be true.

Cole then laughed at me before finishing the rest of his thickshake off.

"You've got a sense of hummer miss Watsford" Cole said with another laugh.

"Ha, yeah that's what they call me Charlotte the jokester" I mumbled out with a pitiful laugh.

Cole then started laughing again until he looked over at the entrance of the juice net where three people just entered.

"Don't look know love, but it seems your friends are here" Cole informed me motioning over to the other side of the juice net where Cleo, Rikki and Emma had just walked in.

Oh great, as each one of them walked to there booth they all gave me the evil eye, before they sat down and ordered there drinks.

"They really don't like you, do they love" Cole asked me.

"No they don't" I replied as I looked over to were they sat then back at Cole.

Cleo's POV

"Of coarse she is here" Rikki yelled across the booth to me.

"Rikki, it's a free country she can be here if she wants to" Emma told her.

Though I had agreed to be civil to Charlotte it didn't mean that I wanted to see her everywhere I went, seeing her at school was enough.

"Em I have to agree I'm not happy she is here ethier" I told my friend.

"I know but you agreed to be civil with her and she's not hurting anyone she is just having afternoon tea with the new kid" Emma said.

"How does she even know him, and why is someone that cute even talking to Charlotte" Rikki whined to Emma and I.

"Rikki keep your voice down" I said

"I don't know maybe he likes her" Emma said.

"How on earth can anyone like her, and I bet he won't like her as much once he finds out she preg.." Rikki tried to say before she was interrupted by Emma.

"And you aren't going to be the one to tell him, Cleo promised that we wouldn't tell anyone she was pregnant and that no harm was to come to her or the baby for now Charlotte is off limits"

"You know I really am starting to hate this stupid promise of yours" Rikki spat back at me.

"I didn't agree to it because of her it's because of Lewis that I made this deal" I reminded Rikki.

She really can be a little to hot headed at times.

"Fine" Rikki said a little to compliantly, what was she up to.

Soon I saw a smile cross Rikki's face as her eyes fell on where Charlotte was sitting and her hands began to make a slow fist movement, oh no.

I looked over at Charlotte's table were I saw her thick shake begin to bubble and melt.

I hit Rikki on the arm and screamed "Rikki what the hell are you doing"

She faced me and gave me a smile. "You said we couldn't hurt her you said nothing about having a little fun"

"Rikki, anyone could have seen that and not to mention she is sitting with someone who doesn't know about mermaids or magic" Emma yelled at her.

"Oh come on it's not like he would suspect magic is involved"Rikki said annoyed.

"Well you don't know that" I chimed in.

"It was just a little fun"

"Yeah well, from now on there is no using your powers on or around Charlotte understand" I told Rikki.

"Fine I understand" Rikki yelled at me.

We all looked over to Charlotte who gave me a look of disappointment, like she has the right to look at me like that she is seventeen and pregnant not to mention it's my boyfriends child she is carrying and she has the right to look at me like that, I can see now why Rikki is causing trouble.

Charlotte's POV

"Whoah what the hell is happening to your drink" Cole asked with a surprised look on his face.

I looked at my thick shake only to find that it was bubbling and starting to melt until it eventually disappeared.

Rikki, I look over to her to see a smile on her face I then turned to cleo who only gives me a shrug, but I can see Emma is getting angry at Rikki she was always the one who actually tried to get along with me though I have to say I didn't make it easy for her.

"Woah that's weird, it probably has something to do with the temperature in here or something" I said trying to shrug it off, it's not like I could tell him a mermaid who hates my guts did it.

"Really because you don't seem that fazed by it" Cole asked.

Great that's just what I need him getting suspicious.

"I guess it just takes a lot to surprise me" I told him.

"Obviously" I heard Cole say, but I wasn't paying attention to what he was saying I had my eyes on the girls.

"Why do they hate you so much" Cole asked me.

I stopped looking at the girls and answered Coles question.

"Like I said it's a long story, but short version I dated the brunettes boyfriend remember Lewis who I introduced you to, anyway they were still really close friends when I started to date him and so to make him happy, and so I could make more friends here I started to hang out with them but they still didn't accept me, and Well I didn't take their rejection well and I threatened cleo then Lewis dumped me for cleo and we just haven't got on since" I told Cole.

Well I didn't lie to him I just left out a few details like the fact I'm pregnant and used to be a mermaid.

"Ok if that's the short version I don't know if I want to hear the long one" Cole said with a laugh.

"Yeah well trust me you don't" I informed him.

"But if cleo got Lewis back then why does she still hate you" he asked.

"Well let's just say there is more to the story than I'm telling you, though at one point we almost resolved our issue then well something happened and well she still hates me"

"I understand, but what I don't get is why the other two don't like you" Cole asked, man he wasn't going to let this go.

"Well you see the one with the curly blond hair in the red and black shirt, her and I just clashed though she has got a bit of a temper on her as well you could say she is a bit of a hot head, and the other blond she just follows the other two she was actually the only one of them who tried to accept me but well I take the fault for ruining that but we are still civil towards each other unlike the other two" I informed him.

"Wow, it seems like they didn't give you a fair go anyway just because you were dating Lewis, and why did he dump you in the first place"

"Wow you have a lot of questions I feel like I'm under interrogation" I said with a laugh.

"Yeah well I just want to get to know you" he replied.

I smiled at him and I think I was blushing as well, no one has ever wanted to know me.

"Um well Lewis still had a thing for cleo when he started dating me and even though cleo broke up with him I think she regretted it the moment she let him go. But I kind of led him into her arms, I don't really want to get into it though" I told Cole.

"I respect that if you don't want to tell me you don't have to, but one day I will get to know you" Cole said with a smile.

He then got up to go pay for his food. And all I could think about as he walked up to Alfred at the counter was that I think I am starting to like this guy like really like him, well that and how hot his butt looked as he walked away.

No Charlotte you can't fall for this guy, your pregnant with a baby who has mermaid powers and not to mention it's Lewis's who is with another girl and who has two mermaid friends and one that wants to hurt me, my life is just to messy I can't get involved with Cole I just can't.

Oh crap he's coming back.

"I payed for your food to I hopes that's ok"

"You didn't have to do that Cole"

"Yeah well I wanted to, and I know that it's none of my business but Lewis is a bloody idiot for letting you go because if I had you Charlotte watsford I would never let you go" Cole said, looking into my eyes the entire time before he walked away leaving me sitting there gobsmacked and staring like a fool as he walked away, and in my trance I could see cleo and the girls getting served there drinks.

Then there drinks suddenly knocked over spilling all over them, oh no this can't be good but hey I'm not there friend and I'm not a mermaid anymore I don't have to help them.

No Charlotte you have changed you have to help them even if they don't want you to, but just before I went to help them I turned to see Cole at the exit of the juice net with a amused smile on his face before he looked at me and winked.

Okay why did he do that, wait that doesn't matter I have to help the girls. I walked over to the waiter to distract him and let the girls run out of there booth and on to the jetty.

"I am so sorry" the waiter cried out at the girls as they started to bolt out of the juice net.

"Don't worry about it they will be fine just let them go" I said as I grabbed him to let them leave quicker.

After I had distracted the waiter long enough I ran after them, I had just made it outside when I saw them dive in the water and swim off.

Well that could have been bad, but at least I had a nice afternoon with Cole until they showed up, but even though I had fun with him there is just one Problem now I think I'm starting to fall for Cole, great I meat a guy after I get pregnant I'm starting to feel like Jennifer Lopez in the back up plan, though I'm pretty sure she wasn't a teenager who's having a mermaid baby.

"Hey Charlotte have you seen cleo" I heard Lewis call out as he made his way over to me.

"You just missed her"
