Overlord was hovering through the forests. He had gone in search for the GUN bases on Mobius. He was closing in on a GUN base when he was hit by a giant hammer, sending him head-first to the floor.

"Who dares attack us?" Overlord shouted.

"The one who protects her boyfriend, that's who!" A silhouette said from the shadows.

"Anyone who dares attack us is already dead!" The silhouette emerged from the shadows, revealing Amy Rose, who tried to wrap a rope around Overlord. However, Overlord easily snapped the ropes. "Such low grade restraints! How's about you have some of mine?" Some electrical wires wrapped around Amy from her feet to her shoulders, and then latched themselves to a tree branch and another piece sealed Amy's mouth, preventing her from calling for help. The pink hedgehog tried to escape, but the wires electrocuted her and tightened their grip on the damsel in distress. "Struggle too much and you'll stop your blood flow." Overlord just left Amy to be rescued and went on towards the GUN base. He had no clue that he had been followed through the portal when he took Maria to Mobius. He stopped in his tracks as the ground beneath him was shaking. He looked all around him to see what was causing the earthquake, and he didn't expect to see what he saw in the sky. A black and purple dragon standing on two feet. This was no Mobian dragon, but a Bakugan. The Bakugan called Darkus Omega Leonidas. Alex had met him when he was 14, and they were partners before Alex joined the now-disbanded Bakugan Battle Brawlers.

"Overlord!" Leonidas shouted in the air. "Tell me what you did to Alex Merrywing!"

"It can't be!" Overlord said, starting to think about all the agents he killed. "What have I done!? Killed all those agents... I'm a murderer!" That was when Overlord's body had spread into two minds, Alex Merrywing and Mephiles the Dark. "It's the venom they injected me with! It's trying to control me." Overlord flew to a castle, unaware that this was the Castle of Acorn. He entered were the bell hung.

"You shouldn't try to get rid of me, Alex." Mephiles said in Alex's head.

"Why not?"

"Because you need me. I didn't control you, I freed. Those agents killed your father. They deserve to die."

"NO ONE deserves to die, whatever they done bad."

"You don't need anyone else, Alex. Not Margo, not Alice."

"Not even Calvin and Evelyn!? That is NOT what I think!" Alex tried to rip the pitch black blotches on his skin apart. He started to get them the day he was injected with Mephiles. They covered the pale blotches and showed that Mephiles was starting to seep out of Alex's bloodstream. The bell started ringing and more of Mephiles seeped out of Alex until Alex was now covered by Mephiles. "Of course! The vibrations, you don't like them!" Alex hit the bell and Mephiles couldn't handle the damage his own host was inflicting upon him, so he pushed the armour open from inside and escaped from the torture Alex was doing, sending Alex flying.

"You're gonna regret ever being born, boy!"

"How did I not know your weakness? Wait, how IS that your weakness? You're meant to be as powerful as Shadow, yet a little noise nearly kills you!" Mephiles was like a 2D silhouette, and he needed a host.

"I will have you, Alex. Either, you give yourself to me or I will take you by force!" Mephiles grabbed Alex's wrist and tried to pull him towards his doom. However, Mephiles should've known not to keep Alex inside the armour. Alex activated the seismic shooter and launched a blast at Mephiles, making Mephiles fly into the bell and Alex out the window. Alex screamed and was falling and falling until... his fall was broken by a giant hand. He looked up and saw his partner Bakugan.

"Leonidas!" Alex shouted.

"We meet again, partner."

"Take me back up! I need to see if Mephiles survived!" Leonidas did not hesitate. He lifted his hand to let Alex back into the bell tower. Alex got up to see Mephiles struggling to keep his structure and turn into his liquid form a appear to disintegrate. "At last! It's over!"

"I hate to change the subject, but I'm not the only one here."

"Why didn't you tell me you were still in contact with Rodger?" A familiar voice asked. Alex looked up and on Leonidas' shoulder stood his wife, Alice Gehabich.

"Alice." Alex said in shock. He didn't know how to react or what to say. Did Alice know Rodger's body was in the base beneath their house? "Rodger contacted when me found out about me looking for Margo. He wanted to help me find her. He wanted to be part of her life, but I refused to let him. And now..."

"Now he's taking care of Calvin and Evelyn. He's taken them to Wardington for extra protection. I know you think he's dead, but he was given a temporary flat liner."

"I left him for dead. I killed the people who tried to kill him! I don't know if I can live with that!" Alice climbed down to Alex.

"I lived with being Masquerade."

"This is different! You defeated Bakugan, I killed humans!"

"No, you didn't! Mephiles did. That's why he paid the ultimate price." Alex took Alice into his arms and kissed her. When the kiss finally broke, Alex spoke.

"We should probably get out of here."

~Knothole~

Kendrick and Fiona were preparing for their ultrasound scan. Today was they found out what they were having. Kendrick got Fiona into his car, got into the car himself in the driver seat and drove to the hospital. When they arrived, Kendrick approached the receptionist.

"Hello." Kendrick started. "Um, we have an ultrasound appointment with Doctor Quack. Kendrick Phoenix and Fiona Fox.

"If you'd just like to take a seat." The receptionist said. "Doctor Quack will be with you shortly." Kendrick re-joined Fiona and the two sat down. After approximately 20 minutes, Doctor Quack went to the waiting area.

"Kendrick Phoenix and Fiona Fox?" The duck called out. Kendrick and Fiona stood up and walked with Doctor Quack to the ultrasound room. "How far on are you, Ms. Fox?"

"36 weeks." Fiona answered. "We had to keep hidden from GUN. So today, we're hoping to find out the sex of our babies. No matter what sex they are, they're going under your name, Kendrick."

"Well, just lay on here and we'll find out the sexes." Fiona layed down on the bed and Doctor Quack applied the gel on Fiona's belly. The Doctor moved the scanner around the mother-to-be's stomach and on the T.V. screen there were two babies. "Everything seems to be in order. I can see quills on the baby on the right, so that is definitely a hedgehog. The one on the left takes her mother's appearance." Kendrick's eyes lit up as Doctor Quack revealed the sex of one of his babies.

"The fox is a girl?" Fiona asked.

"Yep. And the hedgehog is a boy. Congratulations, you two. You are having a boy and a girl. Thought of any names?"

"I have thought of a boy's name." Kendrick answered. "Maurice."

"Maurice Phoenix?" Fiona said. "I like the sound of that. What do you think of the name Mira for the girl?"

"Perfect! I can't wait to tell Romerus!"

"Well." Doctor Quack said. "This scan ended quick. Maurice and Mira are developing perfectly. 4 more weeks and you'll be parents. Of course they could arrive anytime. Either way, they're perfectly healthy. I just need to know if either of you have any medical conditions or anything that can be passed onto your children." Fiona shook her head, showing she didn't have anything that could affect her twins. Kendrick, however, was concerned.

"Doc, I have the same supersonic speed as Sonic the Hedgehog. Could that affect them?"

"Your speed could be passed onto them but they'll need to be able to walk on two feet before they show signs of supersonic speed."

"Thank you, doc. We'll see you next time we're here." With the scan done, Kendrick and Fiona left the hospital. "I'm gonna call Romerus." Kendrick got out his phone and called his bandmate Romerus.

"Hello?" Romerus answered the call.

"Guess who's gonna be a dad?"

"No fucking way! How far on is the lucky woman?"

"8 months. A boy and a girl."

"You hid that well, Pops!"

"You need to work on the humour. I'm actually 2 years younger than you."

"Can I tell the rest of the band?"

"Seeing as we only have a month until the due date, go ahead."

"Sweet! Listen, I gotta go. Talk to ya later, Daddy."

"See ya." Kendrick hung up. "I think things are gonna get a lot better from now on!"

"Amen to that." Fiona answered. "Amen to that!"

~Inside Castle Acorn~

Elias Acorn was mumbling away in his royal bedroom.

"We got Iblis under control, but we need to find Mephiles." At that point, ink fell and landed on Elias's head. More and more. Elias was horrified by what was covering him. "Gaah! Aaaah!" After the screams died, the wall blocking Elias's bedroom from the outdoors smashed into pieces. "Alex Merrywing, enjoy your freedom. WHILE! IT! LASTS!"

~Scourge's lair~

"Total regeneration complete in three. Two. One." The AI said. The capsule containing Maria Robotnik's body opened up. "Regeneration complete. You are fully healed, Maria Robotnik."

"SHADOW!" Maria shouted, shooting out of the capsule before realising she was no longer being threatened by GUN agents. "What? Where am I?"

"You're on planet Mobius, Maria." A voice projected through speakers. "The year on Earth is 2017. You were shot by a GUN agent. I found you in one of their bases. You were teleported to Mobius so we could both find Shadow. What's the last thing you remember?"

"I remember being shot. But everything else is after that is a blur."

"We'll find Shadow. I'm coming back to the base that you're in."

"By the way, who are you?"

"My name is Alex Merrywing."
