Chapter 12: The Legendary Quincy (Skipped, Assault on Trip at Sacred Ground)

"Outrageous! Don't you see the damage that you kids have done? This ridiculous show was broadcasted on national television yesterday. Just look."

The teacher played a clip from yesterday

"With 3 of our students, for the world to see. Rukia, Ichigo, and Akane this is very serious. Never in the history of this school has any student have dishonored this institution by committing such an act of civil disobedience."

Tatsuki interrupted the teacher's rant, "Mr. Kagine, sir, I can understand why you're angry with those 3 for acting like a bunch of stupid idiots. But why are Orihime and I here when we didn't have anything to do with this?"

Mr. Kagine turned on Tatsuki, "You were there with them the whole time this was going on!"

Tatsuki smirked, "That was a coincidence, we were just walking by and suddenly got dragged into the whole mess."

Both Ichigo and I gave Tatsuki a very cold glare.

Thanks Tatsuki, thanks.

"Anyway this has been fun, Mr. Kagine, but we're going back to class if you don't mind. Come on, Orihime."

The 2 girls started to walk out of the room, when Orihime turned back to the teacher and bowed while saying, "Goodbye, Mr. Kagine."

Keigo tried to sneak out of the room with the 2 girls, "Yeah, me too, I've got some homew-"

Mr. Kagine snatched Keigo by the back of his collar, "Not so fast, Mr. Sano. You were there with them, yet you did nothing to stop them. So you're just as guilty as Ichigo."

Keigo replied with, "I still don't get what the big deal is, it was just a stupid tv show."

I shook my head

"You don't get much do you Mister. That's the trouble with you kids today, no awareness of the consequences of your actions. It's depressing!"

I looked over and saw Rukia mentally preparing herself for her signature puppy dog eye, Finally, we can get out of here soon.

After our Lecture, After School

Keigo said happily, "Way to go Rukia, you're awesome form has gotten us off scot-free with no detention."

"Oh, you guys, it was nothing really."

I rolled my eyes

Ichigo replied sullenly, "What are you talking about? She was trying to sell me up the river."

Tatsuki interrupted, "You've got to admit that her phony crying covered your get away. You ought to be thanking her."

Rukia smiled, "Actually, I kind of enjoyed putting on the big act for Mr. Kagine. So no thanks necessary, but you have to know I would never sell out a good friend like Ichigo."

The playful bantering was quickly cut short when Rukia received a hollow alert and quickly found a way to pull us aside. "Oh, Ichigo and Akane, can I talk to you for a second in private? Would you guys excuse us for just a minute?"

Ichigo, Rukia, and I both turned and ran away from our group.

Later

We all arrived in the mouth of an alleyway, in front of a shivering spirit huddled in a corner. But Ichigo, was not impressed, "What's going on? There's no stinking hollow here. Don't tell me I got all dressed up for nothing. I think your pager needs new batteries."

While Ichigo and Rukia were both talking to each other, I approached the spirit.

"Hey spirit, it's OK. You don't have to be frightened of us."

I heard Ichigo yell behind me, "Hey you, spirit guy, you wouldn't have happened by chance to cut off the head of a hollow, did you?"

I turned on Ichigo and yelled, "Ichigo! Don't yell at this spirit, can 't you see that he's already scared enough without having to hear your big mouth yelling at him!"

The spirit spoke up, "I did see something scary. This thing was so big it looked like a huge slimy black bug. When I saw it I almost peed my pants!"

As the sprit yelled out the last of his sentence, he lunged and made a grab at me for comfort but Ichigo intercepted him with a sandal covered foot to the face.

"I don't care about your problems; I want to know what happened to it!"

Rukia stepped in between Ichigo and the spirit and grabbed the front of its shirt. "Since you can describe the hollow so clearly,there's no doubt then you must've also seen who killed it and how."

The spirit stammered, "N-n-not really. Cause I had my eyes closed the whole time. I was so scared!"

Rukia put her shoe into the spirit's face when he tried to lunge at her.

I stepped past them both, took the spirit from Rukia's shoe, and said to Ichigo and Rukica, "Guys calm down, you're scaring him."

The spirit took that moment to try to lunge at me but he got a fist to the face this time. I told Ichigo and Rukia in a cold voice, "Deal with him."

The spirit started to stammer and then yelled, "NOOOO!" when the consol was performed on him.

The Next Day at School

Everyone stood around the posted grades. When I saw that Orihime got third in the class, I said to her, "Congratulations Orihime."

When Tatsuki did the same another girl exclaimed, "This sucks! Orihime has both brain and boobs it's just not fair."

I smirked when I heard Tatsuki's reply, "If it makes you feel better, she's a terrible cook."

I looked over and saw Ichigo walking with his group of friends, so I went over and joined them, "Hey guys, you know that the grades are posted, right?"

Keigo went over and stood in front of the girls and said, "Ohhh. Naw, let the girls get the high scores, at least none of our gang embarrassed us by making it into the top 50, right Mizurio?"

Mizurio simply said, "Take another look."

When Keigo did he exclaimed, "W-W-W-WHAT!? Ichigo is ranked number 23?! You cheater there's no way you could've possibly scored that high!"

"Shut up Keigo! I score high on tests because I study for them, you should try it sometime."

I rolled my eyes at Keigo's reaction and ignored them both as they started to go on a rant. When I looked at the scores again I saw Chad's name as rank number 10. I watched Keigo and Mizurio react to his scores and then I calmly pointed out, "You guys do know that I was ranked 5th."

But my question didn't faze them, "We expect that from girls, Akane."

I gritted my teeth and punched them both on top of the head, leaving lumps on Keigo and Mizurio's heads and they both to ran off somewhere.

Ichigo pointed out Uryu Ishida being in the top spot but he had no idea who he was. I did a face palm in response to his obliviousness.

A Little Later

Keigo was talking to Ichigo, "Let's go to that new Karaoke bar, there's this hot hostess there."

I heard fast footsteps approaching us and saw that Rukia was running towards us. She called out, "Ichigo! Come here I need you!"

As she said this, she continued to run past the group and grabbed Ichigo's arm dragging him along with her. She looked back and called to me, "I'll talk to you later, Akane!"

I was stunned, 'What the hell Rukia? What is going on?'

I simply shook my head, sighed, and went to my next class; all the while, ignoring Keigo's persisting questions.

Later After School

I still hadn't heard from either Ichigo or Rukia so I simply went home.

Ichigo, Rukia I hope you know what you're doing.

Next Day at School

I arrived at school before Ichigo, which was unusual, but I thought nothing of it. So when he came into school practically stomping down the hall, I knew that something was very wrong. Ichigo suddenly stopped in the middle of the hallway and muttered, "What's his name?"

I replied, "Whose name, Ichigo?"

"I think it was Ichi-Ichiarmadillio!"

I face palmed and mentally ran through the list of the people I knew in our class and told Ichigo, "The only person in our class with a similar name you're thinking about is Uryu Ishida, but what happened Ichigo?"

Ichigo questioned me with an odd look on his face, "How do you know him Akane?"

I replied, "I know he has a club in that room right there because Orihime is kind of friends with him; but, what does that have to do with-"

Ichigo was already peeking into the room I pointed out, completely ignoring the rest of my question. I sighed again and walked away from him. I muttered so no one would hear, "I'll see you later, I guess."

Or so I thought…
