Chapter 13: Trouble on the Way Back Home

Keith growled in frustration as he kicked the can on the ground. There were many things that were clouding his mind, but the forerunner was his beloved (note the sarcasm) cousin, Nura Rikuo. That and the weird and humiliating things that have been happening to him: like wetting his bed or when strange putrid-smelling substances having a tendency to fall on his head and he still could not get the smell out off him today. He really hoped that no one knew of this, especially his cousin and his big brother. He was sure that they would never let him live it down. Anyway, back to the main topic. Rikuo. Yes, his cousin Rikuo. Oh how he hated him. Rikuo was too much of a nice guy that it sickens him. No matter how he would mock him but aside from the occasional hurt that flashed in his eyes, he would take it gracefully with a smile. That is, until he mocked his family or more specifically, his mother. Rikuo was surprisingly scary when he was angry but it was understandable. After all, he too, would be angry when someone insulted his mom. If only he wasn't Wakana's son. He was pretty sure that they would be good friends. If only.

"Takeshi, Keith? Am I right?" a shady man dressed in a black suit with black glasses suddenly spoke, startling Keith.

"W-w-who are you?!" Keith stuttered. He mentally berated himself on going outside the mansion where it was supposed to be safe. His father always told him that going outside was a totally stupid idea, especially when you do not have any bodyguards or an escort. So, why was he outside the mansion, alone and unsupervised, especially at this time? He had absolutely no idea. He was not looking for Rikuo out of guilt for all the things that he said, right? Nope, not at all. He was just strolling around until this scary man came up to him.

"Who are you?! I demand you to tell me!" Keith ordered with false bravado. He doesn't know the man but for some reason he seemed really familiar. And it was not of the good kind. He felt a shiver ran down his back as he stared at the man in front of him.

The man just snickered.

"Still a brat I see. I suppose the last kidnapping did not teach you your lesson," the shady man grinned. He took off his glasses revealing a disturbing pair of blood red eyes.

Keith gulped. Now he knows why the man was familiar. He remembered this man, and those scary eyes. Who would forget?

"Akito…" Keith whispered. His face instantly paled as he stared at the man. Like a cornered rabbit, he was frozen in place, unable to move even though his mind was screaming for him to run. Run far away. Anywhere as long as it was very far away from this sociopath.

The man, as if able to read Keith's mind, just grinned even more widely.

"I know that you would still remember me even after all these years. After all, I don't really like it if my playmates forgot about little old me. So, do you want to play again? I promise it will be fun this time," Akito grinned ominously that could send adults running to their mother.

Keith couldn't help but to shiver in fear. 'No. This couldn't be happening. Dad said he was taken care of. Right? Dad wouldn't lie? Right?' Keith thought as he desperately clutch his head.

"Now come along. Let's reconnect! Let's continue our beautiful friendship that we started 3 years ago!" he said, his smile tinged with even more madness.

Keith snapped out of his panic. He did what any normal, frightened child would do: listened to the little voice in his head screaming at him to run from the nutjob. And he did. He ran. Fast.

"Ooohh…are we playing cops and robbers this time? Why didn't you said so in the beginning then!" Akito purred that could sent shivers down to your spine.

'Somebody help!' Keith shouted in his mind as he ran aimlessly. He was so scared that he didn't notice the motorcycle coming towards him nor the people on it.

"Keith?" Arashi shouted as he swerved his motorcycle expertly on the side to avoid a collision, making a close shave.

"What the heck are you doing?! I almost crushed you!" Arashi shouted as he hugged Keith tightly. Even if he was a prick, he knew that deep down Keith was a good person. It was only because of their dad that he was like this. Not to mention the incident.

"Arashi-nii…he-he's back….he's back.." Keith mumbled as tears fell on his eyes. He was deathly pale and he was shaking like mad.

"SSsshh...it's okay," Arashi said as he tried to console his brother. He could not really hear what Keith mumbled. His mumblings were mostly incoherent, but if he had heard it, he would have gone back to his motorcycle with Keith and drove back home like a madman.

"Arashi-nii…what's wrong with Keith-san?" Rikuo asked concernedly. Even though Keith was a jerk to him, Rikuo was still a nice guy. He can't stay mad at the people who insult him. That's his Night Self's job.

'Hahaha….serves him right!' his Night Self laughed as he practically rolled on the ground laughing in mirth.

Rikuo sweat dropped. It seems that Night Rikuo could really hold a grudge.

"Hmph…serves him right," Risa said and crossed her arms over her chest.

Rikuo's sweat drop got even bigger. Risa and his Night self was so much alike that it was creeping him out. As Rikuo was about to ask again, he felt an evil aura. It was not like any of the yokai's though. It was pure human. An evil, twisted human. And it was coming their way.

"Arashi-nii-san...we should probably go back home now," Rikuo said trying to take them home without arousing suspicion. Unfortunately, it was too late because the man with the evil aura had just arrived. And he was staring at them with a crazed expression more suited for a man in a mental ward with a restraining jacket and a rubber room with padlocks enough to set a locksmith for life.

"Yeah…we should," Arashi said but stood frozen as he now noticed man in front of him. The man was wearing a black suit but what caught his attention more was the eyes. And it was an unsettlingly familiar set of eyes.

"Akito," Arashi whispered, shocked. He then looked at his brother and noticed that his shaking became worse. He suddenly came to a conclusion that his brother was running away from the guy. And he unknowingly stalled his brother's escape.

'Shit! Why didn't I leave earlier?'Arashi thought as he looked at the man in fear. He still hadn't forgotten what he did to his brother. Oh, who would not forget? The man was twisted in his head.

"Oh~lookie here! My best friend just got himself some new playmates for me~ and there's a girl too," Akito's smile got even wider as he stared at Risa who went pale herself. Rikuo stood in front of her, making sure that his cousin was hidden from the view of the man. He would protect her no matter what. His hand subtly felt for the hidden blade that he always carry on his person. After all, in his world, you must always be ready for whatever attack that may come. Even if it you are just taking a vacation. It worse comes to worse, and then he would use it.

"Shut your mouth, you sicko," Arashi growled as he glared at the man. He also frowned as he remembered the three young teens behind him. He had to protect them no matter what.

"Ohh..a feisty one eh~no matter. I just know to do with you. After all, you are no fun," Akito said and took out a short sword in his clothes. He was really fond of blades because he can play longer with his friends with it. But for boring people, he just uses a gun. Boring weapons are more suited for boring people. Unfortunately, (or fortunately for Arashi), he forgot his gun when he heard that his favorite playmate finally came out of his house. He doesn't know why, but he was banned from taking foot there. There were lots of mean people who would throw him out if he comes in 10 miles anywhere near there. Anyway, he really need to deal with that boring blonde teen. He took the sheath out and let it gleam sinisterly at the sunlight.

Night Rikuo cursed, 'Why does this have to happen in the afternoon, it's...'

'Don't worry. I can handle this,' Rikuo reassured determinedly.

'Please be careful. I have a bad feeling about this guy,' Night Rikuo cautioned.

'Don't worry. I will,' Rikuo replied in his mind. 'After all, I am the grandson of Nurarihyon. I have his blood even if it is still just a fourth.'

'You got that right!' Night Rikuo replied with a smirk.

"So…come and get me~" Akito taunted as he stared at Arashi in the eye.

Arashi looked warily at the blade. He was nervous that's for sure. He never fought someone with a blade before but he had to protect his cousins and his little brother. If only he left earlier.

"What? You're not gonna come and get me?" Akito said as he tilted his head to the side, his manic smile was still there.

Asari balled his fist. It was now or never.

"If you won't, then I'll just come and get you~" Akito replied and ran toward Asari who was ready for the blow. Before he could move though, Rikuo stepped in front of him with a very serious expression. Akito didn't look fazed at the new opponent. He just raised his blade and waited at the right moment to strike.

Akito - this unknown man is literally an insane person who has a past with Keith Takeshi. Other than that, the rest are still unknown.

A/N: And it's finally done! Haha...special and multiple thanks to my beta who didn't gave up on this story and is still willing to beta this story even if I haven't updated this for 9 months already? Wow...I literally sucks. I don't know what excuse I'm going to make. If I say that I was busy, do you think you'll believe me? Yup, not gonna happen. Anyway, I'll start re-outlining this story again and if you are still interested, the next chapter would be out next week: Monday. That's right. I had finish typing the next chapter and edited by my beta. I'll just see how many are still interested in this.

Anyway, thank you for the readers who favorited, followed, alerted and reviewed last chapter. I do suggest reading it back again for there are changes made in that one. Also, for the Keith haters fanclub, I hope you don't hate me with this, but I really find it necessary for me to have a reason why Keith is acting like this. I am also sorry for the many OC characters, but I did warn you on the summary. Last of all: There's a reason why these OC are here and portrayed like this. That is all.
