Bella POV

Did Carlisle just say that my Dad was here? A million thoughts came into my mind. I missed him so much, but I knew I couldn't see him. How would I explain that I look the same as I did 12 years ago? Even more than that, how could Edward and Carlisle explain how they look the same? Coming to this hospital was the only option we had. Liza wouldn't have made it for a longer ride to another one. Edward gently rubbed my arm, causing me to break free from the racing thoughts. "Did he see you?"

"He might have, but I know I saw him." Carlisle murmured. What is Charlie doing here anyways?

"Could you tell why he was here?" I asked, stress building inside of me. Edward rubbed soothing circles on the back of my hand. My body was tenser than ever before.

"I think he was with someone. It didn't seem like he was here for a bad reason." He mused, slowly pacing around the room. "Edward, can you read his mind from here?" Edward closed his eyes and sat more still than he already was.

"He's having a grandson." Edward smiled softly towards me. I could feel my expression change to shock.

"With who?"

"Sue Clearwater's daughter is giving birth right now. It's Leah." Edward grinned, apparently enjoying Charlie's thoughts. I couldn't believe it. Dad had finally moved on and now he was going to be a grandpa. I could feel the sadness rush into my heart. I wish he could meet his grandkids. I know Liza and Xavier would love him. Edward looked at me lovingly. "I'm sorry, Bella." He whispered. Carlisle came and wrapped his arm around my shoulders.

"It's just harder than I've imagined. I haven't had to deal with this. I never let myself think about him. I wish I could see him." Carlisle jumped suddenly to his feet; startling me. "What's wrong, Carlisle?"

"The Volturi…" He mumbled. "They're gone. We killed Aro, Marcus, and Caius. We even killed Jane. Who is to stop us from doing what we please now?" He was ranting at this point; pacing wildly across the room. Edward stood up and grabbed his arm.

"Carlisle, what are you trying to say?" His voice was unsure. Carlisle's thoughts must have been a mess.

"Who can stop us from telling Charlie? His stepdaughter is a werewolf, so he must know something about vampires. If Bella would like to, we could get him while he is alone and explain everything." My eyes lit up at the thought.

"Are you sure he won't completely freak out?" I asked, my high spirits falling slightly at the thought. Edward smiled his famous crooked smile.

"I think he can handle it. I've skimmed his thoughts and Carlisle's right; he does know about the pack. They introduced him to the culture when he married Sue, since she's on the counsel. I believe he can be trusted with it." Excitement buzzed in Edward's voice.

"I can't believe this is really happening." If I could feel pain, I'm sure my face would hurt from the size of my smile. Carlisle hugged Edward and I close.

"We can wait a few days and then tell him. That also gives Xavier and Liza some time to heal. If her vampire healing kicks in, these next two days are going to be the worst part of recovery, but afterwards, I predict that she will be almost back to herself." Carlisle hummed. "We'll take her home tonight. We can go to the old house. I didn't check us in with our real names anyways."

"Sounds great." We all snapped our heads over to Xavier who had a sleepy smile on his face. I couldn't help but to laugh at the sight of my precious son.
