Alex's pov

( A month later )

" Alright guys, i graded your papers last night and I'm surprised with the results." Mrs. Johnson said while handing out papers to us. Wait i got a 90?! Maybe all my studying is starting to pay off. "Now this test was really challenging so for the people that got good grades, well done." she sat back down in her chair. I looked over at Taylor whose face was frowned up at something. "Alex, what did you get?" he asked me. " A 90. why?" At that his head shot up from looking over his paper. "Really, you got a 90?!" he loudly questioned. Most of the class must of heard him because they stared at me for awhile and some even whispered to one another before eventually going back to what they were doing. He continued " I mean that's awesome, it's just that i got a 68 and you know this is like my best subject. How'd you get a 90?" he grinned. "Could you have asked any louder?!" I yelled whispered to Taylor. "And i don't know, maybe you are losing your mojo man." Taylor smacked my arm. " Don't joke like that, this is serious." I laughed. " But seriously, I'm sure you'll ace the next one. Everyone's bound to fail sometimes." i assured him. He tilted his head sideways. " I don't know what has gotten in to you but that was one of the nicest things you've said in awhile." he smirked. " Gosh, I'm not that much of a bitch am I?" He slowly nodded. I rolled my eyes and threw a piece of waded up paper at him.

Lunch time rolled around and we decided to sit outside to avoid any confrontations by some people. (cough cough..) It felt good out here. The weather was getting colder and colder as basketball season was arriving. That's usually how I kept track of the weather. When it was almost basketball season it was cold and when it wasn't.. well it was hot. A gust of wind blew and caused me to slightly shiver, which snapped me back into reality. I saw Harper approaching the table. " Hey Alex, hey Tay." She smiled while taking a seat. After she opened her chip bag she said " So word around the school is that you finally got a good grade on something."
" I swear, stuff spreads like wildfire around this place. Especially if its something about me." I shook my head. " I mean what do you expect? 'Rebel Russo is all of a sudden making good grades.' that's surprising to a lot of people. Even me, sorta." Harper said. "I guess." I sighed " You know, Mrs. Johnson gave that test to like all of us and mostly everyone did bad on it so that's probably why everyone's so surprised." Taylor joined in on the topic. " Or everyone's just nosey and annoying." I said. They both laughed. " Anyways, i wanted to say congratulations on it!" Harper lunged at me and hugged me. "So proud of you!" She wiped her eyes like she was crying. " Thanks, weirdo." I giggled. " How did you actually make that?" Taylor asked. I couldn't tell them that Mitchie had been helping me this past month. which reminds me, i hadn't seen her today. I wonder what she's doing... okay back to the question. Maybe i could just tell them that i like it now? yeah that works. " I'm just becoming immune to it, like i'm gonna have to study if i want to make good grades so." I lied because i still hate school and everything dealing with it. " ..Well that's different.." Harper said.
" Our little Alex is growing up, aww ." Taylor teased. I smirked " Whatever."

The remainder of my day was filled with weird stares from pretty much everyone that crossed my path. I mean people usually stare at me anyway so i wasn't too bothered by the extra ones. You'd think that since i'm the rebel in this place that people would have some sort of respect for me. Not like praise me but at least not pick on me. I wish it was like all those other scenarios where the rebel is like the one person that no one messes with and they're scared of them. I guess that's only in movies. In gym we had free day so everyone was with their own little posse's. I finally spotted Mitchie then but of course i wasn't going to go talk to her or anything. I just stayed with Harper and played catch.

It was the end of the day. Students were still roaming the halls though. People would still pass me whispering stuff to each other but i just ignored it. I was putting the books i didn't need in my locker and getting ready to leave when someone called my name. " Alex!" I turned and just the sight of the person made me smile. " What's up Mitch?" she was still in her gym clothes but still looking beautiful as ever. " I saw you in gym but didn't get a chance to say hi so hi." she smiled "Oh and congratulations on the A." I mentally groaned at the mention of that. I'm happy that i got an A and all that it's just that i don't get why everyone has or cares to know. " You heard about that too?" i questioned. " Yeah everyone's kinda talking about it."
" I'm not sure why its such the hot topic around here." i said. " Well you are Rebel Russo, i mean for someone like you to accomplish something like that is a shocker to some people. Not to me though, i knew you could do it." she smiled which caused me to do the same.
" Thanks for believing in me, i just wish it wi- " Hey babe." Shane appeared out of nowhere, interrupting me. This guy just has the best timing ever doesn't he. I rolled my eyes and turned back to my locker when he kissed her. I hope his breath smells like ass and shes just putting up with him for some really important reason.
" What are you doing talking to this loser?" Can he be anymore childish. I really didn't feel like arguing today so i just closed my locker and got ready to walk outside. " Fuck you" I said. Mitchie shook his arm off her shoulder. " Shane, don't call her that."
" It's true." He stepped toward me. "I heard about your little A that you made. Just because people are talking about you now doesn't mean that you aren't still trash. You're worthless." she smirked, pleased with his self i'm assuming. Some people were beginning to stop and watch. Great. I clinched my fist which i'm guessing Mitchie noticed because she stepped in between us. She got in Shanes face. " You need to stop being such an ass, okay? Alex hasn't done anything to you ever but you continue to degrade her and her friends! I'm getting sick of it! How about we bring you back to reality? You and your family wouldn't be anything without my father's hand with everything so you need to chill!" He looked at her completely silent and flabbergasted like. " And if you want to keep doing shit like this.. i'm done with you." Shane just stood there and finally mummbled a soft "Okay." She sighed and turned to me then looked at the small crowd that was surrounding us. When she walked away Shane looked at me then started trailing her.

I started off to my truck. When i got there i took in what had just happened.
I couldn't believe Mitchie had told off Shane like that. And in front of all those people too. Wow.
Hopefully people would be more interested in what she said about her father and Shane's family
Then about my A tomorrow..I smiled to myself. Mitch looked hot when she was mad. Just the way she like yelled at him and everything. I've never seen her so mad before. I can't wait to see what the rest of the week brings.
