Chapter 13

Kiba showed up at the hospital just as planned and waited for Sakura in her office. The nurse had left him there to go and look for her. Last she said she had seen, Sakura had been dealing with Lee and Gai. He didn't expect her any time soon after hearing that. You didn't need to be a doctor to know that those two were a handful on a good day.

Sitting in the chair in front of her desk, he relaxed and enjoyed being in the room. He hadn't noticed it earlier, but her scent was all over this room. You could tell she spent a lot of time in here. He closed his eyes and inhaled, letting the scent calm and relax him. It smelt like a the calm after a thunderstorm; at least that was the only way he could think to explain it.

Kiba tried not to dwell, but he couldn't get the thought of Sakura out of his mind. What if she was the girl? What if they were mates and didn't know it? How would she react to that? No, the thought of it being her wasn't a bad thing to him. At least he knew her and there was some history there, opposed to it being someone completely random. In fact, he was almost past the point of it just being a thought. He was almost sure it had to be her.

Ever since their little 'vacation' started, things had been weird with him; well, weirder than usual. He became more aware, more protective and more anxious and it was always when Sakura was involved. Here was something brewing between them, he could feel it. Plus there was the weird vision he kept having that he had originally thought to be a dream. It was a memory.

'You have instincts. Follow them.'

Akamaru had been right. He was an Inuzuka and his instincts would not lead him wrong and right now, they were all leading him to her.

The door to the office opened and Sakura stepped in. She smiled when she saw Kiba in the chair and made her way to sit behind her desk. "I hope you weren't waiting long." she smiled.

Kiba shrugged. "It wasn't too bad. You ready to go?" he asked. He could tell that something about her scent seemed off. She was frustrated...or was it nervous?

"About that," Sakura started, "Tsunade asked that I stay for the night and show Kazu some more pointers and let him get some night shift experience." She stared at her hands, folded on her desk and waited.

Kiba was silent for a moment, before responding. His plans had been ruined because KAZU needed experience on the night shift! Who needs night shift experience? Everyone sleeps for fuck sakes! "There was no one else Tsunade could have asked to do this?" he asked.

Even Sakura, with her dull senses, could pick up on the tension and edge to his voice. "You know Tsunade wouldn't ask anyone other than me. I'm the most trusted and he would learn more from me." she explained.

Sakura wasn't sure what it was she was feeling at the moment, but Kiba was upset and she knew it. It was like his emotions were bouncing right off of him and sticking to her. Usually she wouldn't care if someone, other than Tsunade, was upset with her. She would deliver a giant 'Fuck You' and go about her life, but in this moment, she was bothered. She really couldn't tell why. Maybe it was because she didn't like going back on her word. Whatever it was, she could tell it was going to be bothering her all night.

"So what time are you walking out of this place?" Kiba asked.

He couldn't have been thinking what she thought he was. "Probably like 5a.m, but that's too early for you to come back." She didn't want him getting up super early just for her. They could hang anytime.

Kiba scoffed. "Who said I was leaving?" He wasn't letting her and some random Suna guy spend a night, alone, in a hospital. Regardless of their treaty, that was still risky and irresponsible of the hokage to even recommend. Not saying he is, but he could be a spy or assassin and Sakura was going to be alone with him. Bullshit!

"I'll linger around the hospital and stay out of your way while you work." he said.

Sakura couldn't believe this. "That's really not necessary. Go home and get some rest."

Kiba just glared at her and stood up, arms folded. "Like I said, I'll linger."

He turned and walked out of her office, leaving a stunned Sakura in his wake. What just happened? Was he serious about staying until the morning? He couldn't do that. There had to be some policy or something. This was a hospital, not a hang out spot and for Tom, Dick, and Harry. She was irritated beyond belief right now. And still, she knew that she would not be the one to tell him to leave.

Sakura groaned and let her hands rest on her hands. Something was happening and she could feel it. Whatever was going on between her and Kiba wasn't normal and it was making her act weird. If he had been ANYONE else, she would have stood up and thrown them out herself, but not him. When Kiba was around, she was more...docile in nature and it was annoying.

Sakura glanced at the watch she was wearing. It was almost time for her to meet Kazu to show him how to do the nightly rounds. Grabbing the medical files she would need from her filing cabinet, she made her way to the front, taking a deep breath to clear her mind.

She was in work mode again and no matter what time it was, people's lives were still in her hands. She wouldn't let Kiba and whatever was going on be a distraction for her right now. There would be plenty of time tomorrow to deal with all of that and figure things out.

Kazu was waiting by the front desk, just like she had been expecting, and he smiled when he noticed her coming.

"Evening. Sorry you got stuck on an extended night shift here because of me." he apologized.

Sakura smiled. "No worries, This happens even when you're not here, so I'm used to it."

Kazu chuckled. "Glad to know I'm not the ruin of your life." He scratched the back of his head and looked off to the side. "I just saw that Kiba guy head into the waiting area. He never looks too happy, at least not when I run into him." he commented.

Sakura looked in the direction of the waiting room. It was closed off for privacy, but the door was open and she could hear the television playing in there. So that's where he was hanging out. At least he would be mostly out of her way.

"Don't worry about him." she said, returning her attention to Kazu. "He's just like that...So how about we start those rounds?" she said and turned to walk away, knowing he would automatically follow.

Sakura lead Kazu through the floors and checked on the patients whose files she had grabbed from her office. She let him, under supervision of course, check vitals and make sure that patients were settled in for the night and that everything was running smoothly.

"The night shift isn't too hard. Just make sure that everyone is ready for sleep and all the vital checks are done and documented." she explained. Kazu nodded and took some notes. "It's the most boring shift and sees less action, unless there are injured shinobi returning from a mission late. Patients can also go from bad to worse during the night."

Kazu whistled. "Sounds like things can get pretty exciting here at any moment." he said.

Sakura laughed. "Yeah. The night shift does love to throw you a curve ball when you least expect it." 'Kiba being one' she thought to herself.

"Guess I'll keep my eyes open and my senses sharp."

Sakura smiled. Kazu was so easy going and carefree. He was such an approachable person that anyone could be comfortable around him. He was an excellent medic and dealt wonderfully with his patients. She couldn't help but to notice how unlike Kiba he was. Though, Kiba wasn't all bad either. He was just a pushy dick sometimes.

"So what's next?" Kazu asked, pulled her back to him. He had noticed that she seemed a bit preoccupied more so than usual. It didn't seem like she was thinking about work, but more like her mind was taking her somewhere farther off. Kazu hadn't been here long and he didn't want to be presumptuous, but he could bet that it had something to so with the ninja who was currently spending the night in the hospital waiting room for no apparent reason.

"Well, like I said, there's not much excitement going on, so we just wait for something to happen and do our rounds every few hours to be sure everyone is still ok and sleeping peacefully."

Kazu nodded. "Good. If you don't mind, I'd like to go and see if I can be of any help in emergency since things are all good in this end."

"Sure. Just keep you're pager on and keep an war out." Sakura knew the nurse who was currently running emergency; she had trained her herself. Plus, things on that end were slow at the moment, so it's not like he would be in the way of anything. Kazu would probably more than help to them than to her.

After he left, she made her way to the employee break room to grab a snack out of one of the many machines. She usually didn't snack on junk, but she hadn't eaten dinner and the cafeteria was closed. Looking over her choices, she decided to go for a bottle of soda and bag of chips. After buying her items, she headed towards the main hospital waiting room and towards a certain dog nin.

Sakura had decided that him hanging around didn't bother her as much as she thought it would. Sure he would pop into her head from time to time, but he wasn't a complete distraction from her work. She was more interested in talking to him and figuring out why he had stuck around. Yea, her bailing at the last minute sucked, but it wasn't the end of the world. He was Kiba Inuzuka. She was sure there was something else he could have been doing tonight.

Sakura stopped in her tracks and stared at her slightly scuffed shoes. That's right, he was Kiba Inuzuka. He had a reputation for being the most notorious play boy of Konoha and the most eligible bachelor. Kiba had wrap sheet of girls he had fucked that was longer than the list of girls that were even in Konoha. He was sexy, confident and everything the women wanted in a shinobi.

Why was he even here waiting for her? Shouldn't he be spending his time looking for his wife...or mate, whatever they called it. Sure, the thought had crossed her mind slightly, but there was no way it could have been her; he was wasting his time.

One, she was sure we would remember if someone like Kiba took her virginity and two, things like this just didn't happen to her. Sakura was the work-a-holic, tough girl who intimidated guys. She was the hokage's apprentice. She wasn't someone's girlfriend and she definitely wasn't someone's wife. It just wasn't the way things were. Her and him, were not the match made in heaven in any way.

A pair of teeth grazed the side of neck, followed by a tongue, lapping at the spot that it intended to devour. Sakura moaned and threw her head back, her hands fisting in a head of chocolate hair as a pair or arms snaked around her waist, puling her closer and cupping her bottom.

There was a fire spreading throughout her body and all she could do is moan as this stranger had his way with her. He lingered on the same spot some more, giving it another thorough lick and a suck before opening his mouth, his fangs elongating and sinking his canines into the side of neck. She balled her hands and pulled even tighter on the hair which seemed to just make the man want her more.

They fell back onto the bed, both of their clothes already discarded. He never removed his mouth from the spot on her neck, letting his chakra flow between the two of them. Sakura gasped when she felt the head of his member position at her entrance...

Green eyes shot open and looked around. Sakura tried to control her breathing and calm down. What was that! A dream? She leaned against the wall until she felt that she could maintain some better balance. That was the first time that she had ever seen something vividly. Sure, she had had some wet dreams before, but nothing so..real. It was like she remembered it almost. The sensation, the feeling, all of it.

Taking a deep breath, she ran her hands through her hair, her chips and soda having previously dropped to the ground. One of her hands moved to the left side of her neck where that pain was starting to throb again. She thought it had just gone away on it's on, but right now it was burning more than ever. What was happening to her?

"Hey, are you ok?"

Sakura inwardly groaned. This was the last person she wanted to run into at the moment. She tried to steady herself and pushed away from the wall. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just a stiff muscle." she lied.

Kiba had heard something hit the wall and drop from his spot in the waiting room so had come out to see what was going on. Two things right now bothered him. One, he could almost drown in the smell of her arousal that had hit his nose on his way here. Thinking it had something to do with Kazu, he almost snapped until he smelled that she was alone. And two, he could smell that she was lying right now also.

"How about you stop the bullshit and tell me the truth?" he said, crossing his arms.

Sakura glared. "That is the truth. Just mind your own business." Her neck was getting worse the longer she stood here. Whatever was happening, it was bad and she needed to move. She didn't want Kiba hovering over her right now.

"I come to find you freaking out in a hallway and you say I should mind MY business?" Kiba moves closer. "Look, obviously you need help."

Sakura gasps and backs up against the wall, still holding the side of neck. Him getting closer just made it hurt more. What the fuck was going on? "Look, just stay away from me ok! I'll be fine." she manages.

Kiba glares and moves even closer. Why was she pushing him away right now? He didn't know what it was, but he needed to be closer to her at the moment. His instincts were all on end right now. It was like she was calling to him or something.

"Just calm down. You don't always have to act so tough. Let me help you." he tried to reason with her.

Sakura looked from side to side, thinking what to do. She needed to run and get away. However, something inside of her was keeping her glued to this spot. For some reason, running felt like the worst thing she could do right. Plus, Kiba was fast, if he wanted to catch her, he would.

Kiba was still inching closer and closer. He would be within an arms reach of her soon. Sakura swallowed. She wasn't sure why, but her logical mind was screaming for her to not let him touch her. Something would happen if he did, she just didn't know what. Her only option was to run. She needed to get away from him and fast.

Kiba caught on to the determined look in her eye. 'Don't run' he thought to himself. His instincts would be to hunt her which wasn't a good thing right now. He needed to keep whatever was coming out of him in check. 'Don't run.' He noticed her positioning herself to bolt and from the looks of it, she was gong to go to the right, heading for her office. He didn't want to chase her. He refused to chase her.

Right when Sakura though she saw her opening and pushed from the wall to move, Kiba was on her, locking her back between him and the wall and intercepting her little escape plan. He grabbed both her hands in his one and held them tight around the wrist, raising them above her head. His body was pressed flush against hers to keep her from moving too much and their eyes were locked.

"Let...me go." Sakura breathed in a shaky voice. She could feel his warm breath on her face from how close they were.

Kiba glared down at the woman in front of him. His eyes took in how green and large hers were. He could see uncertainty and urgency but not scent fear. Even in a moment like this, she was strong. "You shouldn't have tried to run. I wasn't done talking to you." he said in a deeper than usual voice.

Whatever was going on with him, was starting to take over and we wasn't fighting it. He didn't want to fight it.

"I...need some..air." Sakura managed. She struggled a little but only succeed in rubbing her body against his. She gasped and stopped, looking away. "Please move." she whispered.

Sakura didn't know why she felt so weak again. If this were anyone else, she would have knocked them off and knocked them out. But not him; not Kiba. Only when it came to him was she so weak it seemed. Why was he her weakness. What was it about him that kept her temper in check and her attitude calm.

Kiba was about to reply when he noticed the left side of her neck. There were two small bruises forming there. He hadn't seen them before, but they looked familiar for some reason. His eyes trained on them, moved in closer for a better look. They looked like..bite marks...from a...mating. And in that moment, it all hit him.

Kiba gasped and his eyes widened once the memories came flooding back to him. He broke out, he found her and stalked her and cornered her in her home. She tried to run and he chased her and once he caught her, he took her and mated with her. But one thing stood out in all of this more than anything else. He hadn't raped her. She was willing and had participated. Her eyes had almost seemed to glow in the dark as she claimed him as much as he had claimed her.

Moving his face closer to her neck, he licked the small bite marks and smirked at the shiver he felt run down Sakura's spine. She blushed and tried to pull her hands free, but he held them tighter now, bruising her wrist. His instincts were in full control now that he had found her; his mate. No wonder things had been so off between them and no wonder it seemed like wherever he went and no matter what he did he couldn't get her out of his mind.

Kiba nuzzled his face into the side of neck, turning her head more and giving him more access. He lapped at her marks and grazed his teeth along her skin. Her scent invaded his nostrils and he was drunk on it. It wasn't just her scent anymore. Their bonded scent was there now two. Whatever had been keeping the mark sealed was lifting.

Sakura swallowed and shut her eyes. She'd be lying if she said this didn't feel good, but right now, she had to stay focused. Something was wrong with him and she couldn't let this keep going on. "Kiba, please. You have to stop." Was this even him anymore? It was like he was another person. "Let me go before you do something you regret."

Kiba ignored her and his other hand ran up the side of her leg, stopping to hold her hip and keep in place. "Silence." he breathed against her neck, nuzzling and licking the spot again. "I knew it was something different about you." His voice was husky.

"Different? What are you talking about." Aside from how she was feeling, she managed to keep her voice calm.

"You're mine." Kiba said.

Sakura would haves said more if in that moment she hadn't felt a set of sharp teeth sink into the side of her neck. The burning sensation instantly stopped and there was a cooling feeling rushing through her body. It was the most relaxing and calming thing she had ever felt in her life. It was like rushing water moving through her veins.

Her breathing calmed and her eyes slowly closed, letting the feeling take her over. The cooling sensation subsided and then it felt like her body was heating up all over again. Her breast felt heavier and the nipples hard. She rubbed her thighs together to try and ease the ache between her legs. She moaned when she felt Kiba groan against her throat, the vibration of it moving throughout her body.

His hand moved from her hip and began to stroke the inside of her thigh, moving up to cup her through her pants. His hand fit over her fully and he massaged her womanhood through the fabric. The scent of her arousal was driving him insane. He was hard as a rock right now and needed some release. Besides, she was his mate. Why couldn't he fuck her senseless? It would be only right.

Kiba let the last of his chakra pour into her neck and pulled away, licking the spot one last time. He rested his foreheads against her and their eyes locked, never moving his hand or stopping what he was doing to her below. She looked back at him and blushed, her breathing still labored, but right now, she was too lost in his eyes to care. They were dark and holding her too her spot, almost daring her to try and move.

Kiba let go of her wrist and let her arms drop to hold onto his shoulder, his, now free, hand stoking the side of her face. His eyes wondered to her parted mouth and his moved in, capturing her lips in his and running his tongue over them. The kiss was hard and needy. It portrayed how much he wanted her right now and how much he wanted to do to her right now.

Sakura held tighter to him and groaned into her mouth as his hand continued to work her. She could feel herself getting closer to what she did not know. There was a knot building in her belly, but it didn't feel unfamiliar. It was more like something she had been missing.

Kiba's hand stopped long enough just to move inside the waistband of her pants. He pushed her panties to the side and started his ministrations all over again, this time the contact feeling more intense. Her breath hitched and her legs parted to give him more access. The only thing holding her up at this point was the wall right now. He continued playing with her bud of nerves and let two of his finger slip inside of her. She was so wet and her muscles constricted in a vice grip. He could only imagine how that was going to feel on his dick.

But, that imagining was short lived by the sounds of someone clearing their throat. Kiba stopped and groaned, he had been so into the moment, he hadn't been paying attention to his surroundings at all.

"Um...uh...the emergency room could use some help from Sakura...when you get the chance that is."

Kazu was standing behind the two of them with a face that was completely red and looking in any direction other than directly at the two of them. This was not what he had been expecting to find.

Sakura instantly snapped back to reality and blushed and buried her face in Kiba's chest since her was standing in front her, blocking most of her from his view. She could not believe that she had let herself be caught in such a compromising situation. What was wrong with her? How did they even get like this? And his hands were still inside her pants, she mentally screamed at herself.

Kiba just groaned and stepped, back, removing his hands and looking over his shoulder at the other man. He glared and sized him up for a bit before looking back to Sakura. Stepping back, he gave her some room to start straightening herself up and figured that she would need a minute.

"Let them know that she will be there as soon as possible." he said over his shoulder to the still waiting boy.

Kazu swallowed and nodded. "Will do." He turned to walk away, wanting to get out of this awkward situation as soon as possible, but was stopped by Kiba's voice again.

"And don't let me find out you told anyone about what went on here tonight." he threatened. He knew how much Sakura's reputation meant to her and he would tear that Suna punk to shreds if he got any bright ideas on ruining it for her.

"Of course not." Kazu answered and disappeared.

All of Kiba's attention turned back to the girl in front of him who was running her hands through her hair and straitening her clothes. She looked at everything but him in the hallway while doing so. Once she was done, she stood up straighter and cleared her throat.

"Maybe...um...you should leave for the night." she said in a low voice, not knowing what else to say at the moment.

Kiba nodded. Maybe she had not shared in getting her memories back like he had. Regardless, he had succeeded in finding his mate. Now he just had to figure out what to do with her. "Look, we need to talk."

Sakura finally looked up at him. "Trust me, I know that, but now is not the time." It was obvious to her also that what went on here was not normal. That was more than just two people sating a lust for one another. What it was, she didn't even want to think about it cause it was pretty obvious to both.

"I need to get back to work. I'll talk to you tomorrow." She moved to walk past him.

Kiba growled and grabbed her arm, turning her back to face him. "I'll be waiting at your place and we WILL talk then." he said.

Sakura and he let her go, stalking off and out of the hospital. He needed the night air right now to calm down and clear his mind. No, we wasn't going to go far just yet, but he would eventually head to her home to wait for her like he said he would. Right now, he just needed to run and talk to someone.

Sakura stood in the hallway where he had left her and caught her breath again. She leveled herself and started towards the direction of the emergency wing. She needed to focus on her work right now and not on Kiba. There would apparently be time for that later.

So I figured things might have been going a little too slow for my liking so I mega spiced up this chapter for you guys and I hope that you enjoyed it :) Now things can really start to unfold now that the first hurdle is over. Time for stuff to get a lot more heated and interesting.
