Micarocks101: Hey guys! Sorry I haven't updated in a while I have tons of home- *barely dodges MidnightShadow101's fist* BUT I DIDN'T EVEN SAY IT! *emo corner* meanies...
"That...took...way too long!" I huffed and sat down hard on the cold stone to catch my breath. Izumi sat down next to me, even more worn out.
"Yeah...but we can't rest for long...we need to find Ed and Al." Izumi gasped. We were surrounded by unconscious chimeras of all kinds. Lucky for us, Edward and Alphonse had taken care of some of them, but not all. And I didn't have the heart to kill them.
"Come on..." I said and stood up and reached my hand down to help Izumi up. She grabbed it and I pulled her off the ground. "I think we're almost there."
We walked in silence. Apparently we hadn't taken out all the guards, because once in a while a chimera jumped out at us, but we beat them all. Finally we reached a huge set of doors. They were gaping open, but it was too dark to see inside. Suddenly something hit me, a wave of stench...it was utterly foul. I stumbled and Izumi caught me. She didn't seem to notice the stench.
"Sarah, you alright?" Izumi asked and put me back on my feet. The stench was so overwhelming, I almost lost it right there.
"It's nothing. We need to save Edward and Alphonse." I said a little shakily. Izumi looked at me with concern, but I ignored her and stepped through the doors. Izumi nervously followed. As soon I stepped through, I heard a voice. It was a child's voice, but it held no happiness.
"Oh~! You're finally here~!" The voice called out in a sing-song way. I tried to find where the voice was coming from, but it was too dark. I stumbled through the darkness trying to ignore the voice that continued calling out to me. It sounded familiar, but I couldn't place it. After a few minutes of trying to find the source of the voice, I yelled into the darkness.
"Who are you?! Where is Edward and Alphonse?!" I yelled. The voice sighed.
"My, you've changed quite a bit, haven't you..."
"...Big sister?"
I froze.
"Why do you care what happens to those boys and their stupid mentor? I was here, hoping you would come, but you're too late now, big sister." The voice was no longer a sing-song voice. "You abandoned me, and look what they did to me. If you had come here sooner, it might not have happened. Do you have any idea how painful it is, fighting for control of your own body?"
Suddenly the lights flared on, blinding me for a second. When I recovered, I heard a thud and a small groan. I didn't want to look down. I knew what I would find. I heard a scream behind me. I twirled around and saw Izumi collapsed on the ground, clutching her stomach. Her face was contorted in pain, but she wasn't coughing up blood like what I had seen before. She started muttering something.
"My...my baby...please..." She coughed and fell to the ground shaking. I finally unfroze and ran to her side.
"Izumi! What's wrong?!" I yelled and shook her, but her eyes were shut tight and she kept muttering under her breath.
"It's no use. She's stuck in her worst memory. Well, I didn't do bad for a first time, huh, big sister?"
"No..." I said, though it was barely audible
"Hm? I thought this is what you wanted, for all these stupid alchemist to suffer. Remember, the promise you broke? Us against the world?" The child's voice said, amused.
"No..."
A cold hand rested on my shoulder. From the corner of my eye I saw a red tattoo on the hand.
"Isabella...why...what did they do to you?"
"They opened my eyes."
