Chapter thirteen: One life

Six weeks later

The sun is high in the sky with birds flying back from the south. Aleu and Hunter sit by Balto's boat as they watch their pups play around in the sand, "Looks like they're getting along, don't you think," Hunter said with a smile on his face then he lick Aleu muzzle. Aleu looked at Hunter and smiled "Yeah," Aleu said giving him a lick on his check.

Balto walks out of his boat seeing the two lovers nuzzling as they watch their kids playing around in the sand. Balto smiles as he sees his grandchildren play in the sandy beach, Balto then takes a breath and then walks over to his daughter. "Aleu we need to talk," Balto said Aleu looked at him and nodded then stood up.

"What is it papa?" Aleu asked Balto cocked his head the right and a smiled "Well rumor has it that well your brother his going to be a dad," Balto explained with a smile. Aleu was shocked "Really?" Aleu asked still shocked, Balto nodded with the same smile "Yep and you and Hunter are going to be aunt and uncle," Balto added.

Aleu smiled once more it's been long time but a good time since Balto had last seen his daughter smile. "Well I guess I will see you guy's later," Balto said Aleu nodded then lets her father go. She then walks back over to Hunter and sits by him but then a thought pop's in her head "II think Sierra might be turning into a tomboy if she keeps messing with the boy's," Hunter said Aleu turn's to him and about to say something but was cut off by Hunter.

"Come on Toby you can let Sierra pin you down like that, but great job on that pin down," Hunter said with a wide smile as his children started laughing. Aleu smile went away as Hunter looked at her "What's wrong?" Hunter said in a low voice. "What if they find out that you're not their real father?" Aleu asked as she saw a flash about how she acted when she found out she was half wolf and ran away. Hunter nuzzled her for comfort.

"They won't find out I promise you," Hunter said with a smile Aleu nodded but looked away, "I just don't want them to end up getting hurt," Aleu said looking back at Hunter. Hunter's smile went away "If it comes to that then we will be the ones to tell them," Hunter putting his paw on Aleu. Aleu smiled as she felt his paw on hers.

"Maybe your right but the life their living now, this is the one life I want them life without any trouble," Aleu explained Hunter looked at his children as play some more "Yeah same here, I want them to life this one life and no other," Hunter said as he puts his head on Aleu shoulder and smiled. Aleu then puts her head on Hunter's and smile.

"Oh by the way my brother going to have puppy's as well," Aleu said Hunter chuckled and lifted his head off of Aleu. " Well he better get ready because the first weeks are the hardest," Hunter said Aleu started to laugh then all their puppies ran over to their parents and started to jump and play around with them,

The sun started to go down and with that the family then walked back over to Hunter's den for then night. Just before Aleu headed with her family she was stopped by her father "Aleu can I speak with you for a second?" Balto asked Aleu looked at her father and nodded then walked over to him "Yes papa?" Aleu said as she walked over to her father.

"You and Hunter look Tired maybe me and your mother can take care of the kids for a little while," Balto said Aleu chuckled "Papa you don't have to do that," Aleu smiled Balto smiled "Aleu I had six puppies with your mother I'm sure I can handle it," Balto insisted on Aleu letting him take care of the kid's, Aleu looked down and smile. "Well I guess we could use a break from the kid's," Aleu said Balto smiled.

"So we have a deal?" Balto said eyeing her in the eye Aleu chuckled and nodded "Yes papa we have a deal," Aleu said Balto smiled and the nuzzled his daughter and lets her go with her family. The sun sets and the night sky falls into place with the stars dancing in the sky. Balto looks up in the sky watching the northern lights. Balto then prays for his family and his new grandchildren.

"I pray to god that everything will be alright and this is the one life that I want my family live," Balto said in his head.

"This is the one life…"
