Silence echoed between the three women, broken only by the every so often painful choke from Marceline. A millennium of constantly believing she was nothing more than a monster. Ignoring the fact that she was a vampire, killing people was a choice…and supposedly killing her mother had been a choice taken away from her.

"M-Marcie, I don't understand what this means," Bonnibel confessed, switching her gaze between the vampire and her mother. Betty bowed her head, giving a heavy sigh.

"It means that-"

"It means that for my entire life my father has used my guilt to make up for his mistake. To make up for me," Marceline growled, her sniffling gone and voice low. Knuckles crunched as she balled her hands into fists. She was annoyed before, she was taking her father's actions with PB as him simply being selfish again. But this was now completely different. He had gone too far.

"You need to be careful, Marceline," Betty warned, watching as Marceline stomped past the pair and towards her house. She was too focused to think about being careful. Too angry. Bonnibel took a step in the direction the vampire went but Betty grabbed for her arm, stopping her. "You know Marceline, yes?" Betty asked as Bonnibel gave a hesitant nod. She did somewhat. Then again she felt like she had learned more about the vampire in the last few hours than the millennium before. Betty swallowed, her grip on Bonnibel loosening. "You don't know what she can become."

"What do you mean?" The princess questioned, her voice low, seeming to sense this conversation was not to be heard by the Vampire Queen. Betty pulled at Bonnibel to face her, a sad sigh tumbling from her human features.

"Around you, she is human. She has no reason to act differently. It's what feels natural to her. But if she is confronted, if she is given reason she will turn into the demon that she fears." Bonnibel blinked, nervous at what Betty could possibly mean. She had seen Marceline transform into terrifying creatures, but then again, most were for the simple fun of scaring people. Not to hurt. There was never a time that Marceline had raised a physical hand to Bonnibel (except for their first meeting). Betty was seeming to warn that there was a possibility of that happening again.

"What do you expect me to do? I can't stop her and I need to get my crown back." Betty gave a glance towards Marceline's home. They could hear the frustrated thumping of the vampire trying to find the trinket. It was then that Betty lifted the necklace from her pocket. Bonnibel's eyes widened. It looked just like her amulet had (before he put the jewel in her tiara) except for rather than gold, the chain was black and rather than green, the jewel was red. Just standing close to it she could sense the power. The darkness.

"You have to get to him first. It's the only way that you'll stop what Marceline is trying to do." Betty directed Bonnibel to a small crack in the stone wall, pulling free a rolled up carpet and shaking it loose. The carpet immediately hovered in the air, waiting for someone to jump on and guide it to their destination. "She cannot kill her father. If she does she will have to take his place...else let the world burn."

Bonnibel never expected this to happen today. She expected a vacation. Certainly it wouldn't be dull in the Nightosphere but she never expected they would be tempting the end of the world. "I will delay Marceline as much as I can but you have to hurry." Bonnibel's nod was firm but unsure. She was following her desires, not her logical thoughts. This wasn't logical. She shouldn't be doing this. Not alone at least. But her senses were being overloaded, her emotions preyed on, as she worried for Marceline's safety over her own.

As she flew from the cave Bonnibel did her best not to look back, forcing the carpet forward towards the familiar tree house. To the only people that knew the actual incantation to the Nightosphere other than Marceline. Finn and Jake.

COMMENTS: Hello again. Long time no see, eh? I've started rereading through all of my unfinished stories, finding the inspiration to finish them again. Which does in fact mean I plan on getting back to Never Again and Heroic sorrows. But please, continue to be patient (and thank you for already being patient). Enjoy!
