206 REVIEWS?

What?

Is that a 206 I see?

I think it is.

I just died from happiness!

"Clary," Jace poked her arm. "Clary," he poked her arm again. "Clary."

She huffed, and Celine shot them a smirk through the rearview mirror.

Celine could remember when she had been like this with Stephen. They had hated each other, Stephen the nerdy boy and Celine the sweet, popular young girl.

Thinking back on it, she didn't know why she hated him so much. They hadn't even have one conversation, but the way he held himself even when he had no friends made her think he was an arrogant ass.

And he was.

But, an adorable arrogant ass.

"What?" Clary groaned, not meeting his eyes. She was a stubborn young girl, possibly more stubborn than Jace was. She would be good for her son, if Jace would just stop screwing up. It was Celine's turn to huff. This would've been his only girlfriend his mother approved of, and he kept messing everything up.

"I need Ms. Bozeman's homework," Jace replied, shuffling his papers around.

"Jace Herondale, you told me you didn't have any homework last night!" Celine scolded, her stomach filling with irritation.

Jace shot her a playful wink, and Celine scoffed, rolling her eyes.

"Well, maybe you should just steal that, too," Clary shot back, and Celine herself almost flinched.

Jace did flinch.

Celine closed her eyes, before reminding herself that she was driving. She snapped them open; glad there were no cars around for her to crash into.

She was so disappointed in her son. It was one thing for Jace to teasingly take something, but a whole new thing for him to steal something and then lie about it.

Her and Stephen had raised him better than this.

"Clary," he said softly, almost to where Celine couldn't hear. "I'm sorry. How can I make it up to you?"

"Figure it out yourself," Clary replied angrily.

Sebastian watched as they walked into the school together. He could tell how obviously Clary was ignoring him. Jace was following her like a lost puppy, and it appeared to Sebastian that all the friends Jace had were on the Cross Country team.

And now he didn't have any.

"Okay, class," Ms. Bozeman said, clapping her hands together. "Get out your homework."

Clary was not in the mood for Ms. Smiles today, and apparently neither was Jace. When she turned her back to the board to write an equation of some sorts, Jace through a paper ball down her shirt. The entire class burst out in laughter as Ms. Bozeman flailed around, trying to get the ball out of her shirt.

She finally had the common sense to lift up her shirt, and Clary wrinkled her nose at her very hairy back.

"Who did that?" Ms. Bozeman snapped, and Clary's smile vanished as she watched the smile disappear. Ms. Smiley was suddenly not so smiley was not a good sign. "Clarissa Morgenstern, was this you?"

Clary shook her head. "No ma'am."

She narrowed her eyes, moving onto the next student. "Jonathan Herondale?"

"Jace!" he sang. "And no. That's too much effort for just you."

Ms. Bozeman's eyes went wide, her nostrils flaring. "Excuse me?"

"I said, no I did not throw the paper ball down your shirt."

"Hall, now."

Jace chuckled dryly. "I'm pretty sure what you're planning to do is illegal. Plus, I'm not that easy." He winked, stretching backwards to reveal his golden stomach.

Ms. Bozeman's jaw dropped for thirty seconds before moving onto the next student. Every student denied it, and Ms. Bozeman burst into tears.

Clary's jaw dropped in shock. What the hell?

"I just-just can't do this anymore!" she wailed, collapsing into a chair. "Every student hates me!"

Clary was half tempted to stand and go soothe her. She just looked so pitiful. She shared a shocked look with Jace, who had guilt written all across his face.

"I should just quit," she sniffed. "But then no one would feed Ashton."

Clary's heart squeezed. Ashton must've been her kid.

Sebastian stood up, walking over to Ms. Bozeman. "Ms. Bozeman?"

He asked, patting her on the back. "Are you all right?" She shook her head, inhaling in a loud sniff. "Well, not every student hates you, I promise. I don't hate you."

"Yeah!" the students chorused.

Ms. Bozeman looked up, softly smiling. "Really?"

"Really," Sebastian said, grinning in return.

The bell rang, and Sebastian patted her back once more. "Good bye Ms. Bozeman. Cheer up."

Clary watched in awe as students filed out.

What had just happened?

"Seb!" Clary called, running up to him and latching onto his arm. "What happened earlier?"

They were both heading off to practice, holding shoes in their hands that they were too lazy to put on until after they got in their coach's room. They walked up the metal stairs, and Sebastian opened the heavy door for her.

Their bare feet padded noisily down the hall, sounding louder than it would have if they were wearing shoes.

"I honestly have no idea," he said with a grin. "That was so weird."

She laughed, stopping him. "Well, I thought it was really sweet."

Sebastian grinned at her, holding her hands in his. It was as if they were really dating again. "Thanks."

Clary kissed his cheek, her hair that she had yet to put in a ponytail brushing across his face.

She pulled back, letting out a soft breath. "Does this mean I'm forgiven?" he asked, cradling her hands to his chest.

"I'll think about it," she said. "You so far have saved my sketchbook and a teacher. I think it is mandatory that I at least consider."

Sebastian grinned cheekily. "I think I'll have to agree."

He was beginning to lean down, as if to steal a kiss, but the door slammed, and they sprung apart.

Jace stood there, his face flushed. In his hands he held a pair of shoes as well.

He coughed awkwardly, before turning around, muttering something about privacy for the two.

He didn't return to practice.

Jace slammed himself down on the bed. He knew skipping practice could get himself into trouble, but he couldn't stand to watch Clary and Sebastian go back into the new couples faze.

It was ridiculous, and he knew that. He had told himself not to get attached, and so he tried his best not to.

But he did.

And now it hurt.

She wasn't even his. She was never his, and now she probably never would be his. They had been so close to dating – he'd almost kissed her cheek once – but he screwed it up for himself.

And now he tried to keep his promise for him being a bad boy, and all it had done was bring Sebastian and Clary closer together.

"Jace?" his mother asked, entering his room. "You ignored my questioning the entire ride home. I want answers and I want them now. Why aren't you at practice?"

Jace sighed, running his hands through his hair. The answer was so terribly embarrassing. He'd acted like a little girl, running away from his problems.

"No reason, Mom."

"Oh, don't you even dare, Jonathan Christopher Herondale. I will not have you calling me randomly, and not give me a damn excuse at least. And don't you even dare tell me you feel sick. You've raced with the flu once."

"Clary," Jace blurted.

"What?"

"Clary and Sebastian. They're back together."

I got you guys a little too comfortable didn't I?

Everyone was expecting Clary and Sebastian to not get back together, but HA!

Well, maybe.

I still haven't decided whether or not Jace saves himself before Clary decides to completely forgive Sebastian.

I know you guys will all get really angry (but secretly pleased, because you know you love the drama ;)), but it would prolong the story.

So, I don't know.
