Chapter Thirteen

Regina made her way to the apartment, she hadn't heard from Emma in a few hours but she didn't think anything of it as they had agreed to meet at the apartment at 7pm, giving Emma a chance to make her way home from work and get a change of clothes; Regina wished Emma would just bring all her clothes and belongings here to the apartment, but she wasn't going to push Emma into anything she didn't want to do, she decided to wait until the time was right, I mean, they hadn't even discussed what was said at Cora's about Emma moving in, Regina didn't know how to bring it up. It made her super nervous and not much made her nervous but Emma Swan sure did. Regina pulled up in her car, as she got out, she inhaled the crisp Los Angeles air, the sun was shining down on her, and she took in the views, all she wished for was that she came here every night, that she came home but it was only home when Emma was there; anywhere would be home as long as Emma was there. For the next hour it would be an apartment with a spectacular view, that was all.

Regina tidied the already spotless apartment, she attempted to make the place look more homely and welcoming. She put candles around the living area and put some scented ones in the bedroom, she also added some very expensive fairy lights around the bed. She had never had fairy lights before but she seen it in a home magazine at Cora's and had a feeling Emma would be fairly impressed with it and the thought that had went in to decorating the room with such little time. She dusted the bedroom even though there wasn't a speckle of dust to be seen, it kept her busy and made her happy. She then began putting dinner on, she decided spaghetti bolognese would be appropriate. It was one of her specialities.

7pm, came and went, dinner was getting colder and colder as time was ticking on and still nothing from Emma. The more time went on the more things that went through Regina's head. Calling Kathryn was not Regina's first choice because all she needed was Cora on her case, after all she was still trying to trust Kathryn again after her latest shenanigans. She tried to call Emma, about twenty-five times in thirty minutes, but it just went straight to voicemail, it did every time but Regina hoped that the next time she called Emma would miraculously answer. She paced and paced around the living room, she must have walked three miles in twenty minutes with pacing back and forth.

Regina paced and paced, she had already been drinking wine so couldn't drive to see if she could find her, anyway, that would be weird wouldn't it? Regina thought, she didn't want to look over eager or be controlling but she was desperately worried sick, she didn't know what to do with herself. It reminded her of a time that she couldn't even bare to think of, she just had a feeling she was going to be in that position again soon and she couldn't cope with it. She didn't know how to. Her therapists voice starting ringing through her ears but she couldn't even begin to process, her mind was in over drive. It went on 9pm and Regina had enough, her thoughts got the better of her, so she called Kathryn knowing she was working late.

"Hey, darling." Kathryn said as she picked up the phone, not aware of Regina's current situation.

"Kathryn, has Emma came in?" Regina said, panic stricken in her voice, she was clearly distraught and even though she tried her best to hide it, she just couldn't. Thoughts went through her head, faster than light, about Sydney and thought it was happening all over again. She felt like she just got a taste of happiness and it was gone. Her stomach was doing summersaults and she felt like she could easily be sick.

"Regina, whats wrong? Calm down!" Kathryn replied, "Tell me whats going on," she continued, she sat up in her chair and put her elbows on her desk, she was prepared to get up and leave if need be, after all she was only on-call. She was catching up on piles of paperwork, nothing that couldn't wait.

Regina took a deep breath in, "Has Emma been admitted?" Regina pushed out, she didn't want to ask but she knew she had too, the couple of seconds it took for Kathryn to reply had her stomach in knots.

"No, why?" Kathryn asked, knowing the answer. Kathryn realised clearly that Regina was overthinking but there was absolutely no way in reasoning with Regina when she was like this and Kathryn had learned that the hard way.

A knock at the door came, and Regina ran for it. "Oh, Kathryn, I've got to go, she's here." Regina said, letting out a breath she didn't even know she was holding.

"Regina, whats wrong, babe?" Emma asked, confused as to why the brunette was so distraught, she knew Regina was sensitive but she didn't realise how sensitive.

"You're three hours late, I've been calling you non-stop and you haven't answered, where were you? I thought something had happened!" Regina said, taking her self aback, she realised just how controlling she sounded, she couldn't go on like this.

"Sorry, my phone died, I got held up at work, I got a rapist to admit that he had raped thirteen women, I couldn't just leave." Emma said, she was rather angry, she felt like she should be flattered that finally someone cared, but she knew just how much Regina's job meant to Regina, how much overtime Regina done, why should Emma be any different?

"You have to let me know, I was worried sick! I've cooked dinner and now its ruined, I'll put it in the bin" Regina exclaimed, still not letting Emma enter the apartment.

"Are you going to let me in or are we going to have this conversation infront of all your neighbours?" Emma asked, she knew what places were like this were like and knew they were full of gossips.

"Oh, sorry, come here." Regina said as she pulled Emma in for a tight embrace. "I'm sorry." Was all she said.

"It's okay, babe, its alright. I'm sorry, I didn't know you were cooking." Emma said, "we need to talk." She continued sending Regina's heart into overdrive.

Once, they had gotten inside, Regina had poured both the women a glass of wine and they sat on the sofa. The TV was on, and Greys Anatomy played in the background, Regina secretly loved this programme, and realised how much her hospital was like it, constant drama going on between the doctors but she turned all her attention to Emma. "What do we need to talk about?" Regina asked, almost terrified.

"Us," Emma said. "I can't have you being in that state every time I'm slightly late home from work, I cant do it to you." Emma continued, as she took another sip of the blood red wine.

Regina sighed, "I'm sorry, I'll stop being paranoid, I just don't want to loose you, I don't know if you're going to come home, I don't know if you're going to get shot again, but what I do know is I won't be able to save your life, if it happens again, I can't operate on family, and that absolutely terrifies me, I can't save your life." Regina said, tears forming in her eyes. She took a massive gulp of her wine, she finally said her fears and now she felt naked, she felt like her feelings were on the line. This wasn't her, she wasn't like this. She was tough, she was independent, she was never scared, but here she was sitting on this sofa, terrified, naked and fearful. She needed Emma.

"Regina, my darling, listen, my job is very dangerous, I am aware, but you could get hit by a bus walking down the street, anyone could, you can't live on 'what if's,' theres plenty surgeons out there, I know you are the best, but how many people get shot and are saved daily?" Emma said, not realising she sounded exactly like Kathryn.

"You sound exactly like Kathryn, thats what she said." Regina scoffed. "Okay, you're right, I'll try working on it, I promise." She said. She had no idea how to start working on it but she was determined to make this work with Emma. "Can we go to bed?" Regina said, she decided to bring up the 'moving in' in bed.

"I thought you'd never ask!" Emma said, throwing a dirty wink in to the equation.

Emma walked into the bedroom, she was taken back by how beautifully the bedroom had been decorated, it was elegant and absolutely screamed Regina, it was perfect. Emma fell in love with the apartment more and more every time she was in and prayed that one day she'd be able to call it home with people she wanted so desperately to be her family.

Regina stripped down as Emma jumped in the shower, Regina decided to join Emma in the shower, which took Emma by surprise they had never shared a shower before and it was nice. The warm water was bouncing off their skin and Emma couldn't help but get extra turned on seeing Regina soaking wet from head-to-toe and she was feeling like the luckiest girl in the world when she remembered she was the only person who would ever get to do this with Regina.

They began passionately kissing, tongues intertwined with each other. Hands went wandering, Regina felt the softness of Emma's body, Emma's hands went down Regina's back and her hand laid on her bottom, Emma felt the perkiness of it, it was so firm and soft. Horse riding definitely paid off. Emma pulled Regina's lip with her teeth causing an ever slight moan, as she pushed her back against the cold shower wall, Regina didn't care, how cold it was she wanted Emma then and there. Regina spread her legs ever so slightly allowing Emma restricted access, enough to make her turned on but not enough that she could actually touch Regina. Emma's hand went down Regina's torso and made her way to her sex. Regina felt shivers down her spine. Emma slowly began kissing her way down, making her way down every inch of regina's perfectly toned stomach. Once, Emma had reached Regina's core, she began licking and sucking on her clit. Regina couldn't cope, she loved the feeling of Emma's tongue against her most sensitive part. Emma pushed a finger inside, starting slow and getting faster, Regina couldn't take anymore and let out an extremely loud moan as she came. Emma reached her hand onto Regina's breast as she came, as soon as she stopped and came back to earth Emma looked up at Regina with a wicked grin, Regina's legs were still shaking, struggling to hold her body up.

"Oh, Miss Swan," she said, breathlessly. As she regained eye contact with Emma, Emma ascended from her knees and came up to join Regina, as the water bounced of both of their backs and bodies. "What am I going to do with you?" Regina asked.

"Well, thats up-to-you, Dr Mills," Emma wittily replied back, with a massive smile forming on her face as she leaned in for a kiss.

Regina quickly turned them around, so now it was Emma who was leaning against the now warm marble tiles. Regina almost copied Emma's every move as she made her way down to Emma's sex. "Its your turn," Regina said, smiling ever so evilly at Emma. Emma's body shuddered with excitement, she had been imagining and waiting for this all day.

Regina pushed a finger inside Emma, starting off slow and gently, before taking it up a pace and become much harder and faster, listening to Emma moan loudly gave Regina the notion to go even faster, til Emma couldn't take it anymore. Regina placed her tongue against Emma's sex and let her tongue dance about, first going forward and backwards to then going from side to side, going from side to side really made Emma moan. "Please, don't stop," Emma said, breathlessly almost begging-like. Regina smiled into Emma's sex as she went faster and harder with her tongue as well as her fingers. She wanted Emma to go overboard, and she wanted her to do it now. Just as she moved her tongue faster Emma grabbed on to the surgeons hair. She couldn't control herself and before she knew it she had joined Regina on her knees. Her legs gave way and Regina helped break her fall.

"Did I just make you weak at the knees, dear?" Regina said wittily, with a hint of laughter coming from her, she knew Emma hadnt hurt herself as she landed practically on top of Regina, the water was now on their hair, causing it to fall in both their faces, they kissed, and laughed, before Regina got up, helping Emma back to her knees. "Great, I need to wash my hair now, but I guess it was worth it!" Regina exclaimed, jokingly.

"I guess you do!" Emma giggled as she grabbed the shower-head. She began washing Regina's back, Regina forgot what it felt like to have someone was her back for her, it had been that long. The last time someone did it was when Kathryn forced her to go for a bath, she hadn't bathed in 2 weeks and Kathryn had to take drastic measures.

The two women got into bed after drying themselves and their hair, it was coming on 12am. Regina almost panicked thinking she was up for work in a few hours but it hadn't set in that she was on leave, she began feeling bad that she was on leave to spend time with her son, but even the first night he was still at his grandma's. She couldn't go on like this, she needed Henry here, she needed her family together. But she wasn't even sure if thats what Emma wanted. Now, was the time to drop it in to conversation.

Regina sat up in bed with her glasses on and her book in-front of her lying on the white satin sheets, Regina was reading about surgery as per usual, as Emma snuggled into her. Regina put her arms around Emma and held her tight, Emma loved it. She never wanted this moment to end, she just wanted Regina to be the one who brought Emma moving in back up. She didn't want to put pressure on her, she didn't want to rush things or scare Regina away, as she felt like she was already worrying enough about Emma and her job. But Regina took Emma by surprise seconds later.

The surgeon was wiping stray long blonde locks of the police officers face, so she could see her clearly. "Dear, we need to talk," Regina said causing Emma's heart to almost pump out her chest. "Don't look so scared, its nothing bad," Regina said, chuckling. "You told my mum you were moving in with me?" Regina continued, she made it more of a question than a statement.

The colour almost drained from Emma's face, she decided to play it cool. "Yeah, i mean, I did say that." Emma managed to get out. "Why?" What a stupid question Emma thought, she began scolding herself. Ofcourse she knew why Regina had asked, it wasn't exactly rocket science.

"Im asking because I want to know if you want to or not. I mean, I want to come home to you every night, I want you to come home to me every night and I want Henry to be a part of this, I don't want him being at my mums and were here, I want us to be a proper family and I know we haven't been together too-" Regina was interrupted by Emma pressing her lips hard against Regina's simply to shut her up, her nervous rambling was becoming to clear to Emma, she had to calm her down.

"Yes, yes, I want to move in with you." Emma said, "Are you sure its not too soon, though?" Emma asked, slightly terrified, she didn't want to hear Regina having doubts, but Emma also had to make sure that this was what Regina wanted before changing her life around for her.

"I wouldn't be asking if I wasn't sure, dear." Regina said, boldly. "Its up to you." Regina continued, nervously anticipating the next part of this conversation.

"Yes, I would love to move in with you and Henry, its all I want." Emma said, happily, her stomach was full of butterflies and her heart was pumping out her chest. Was she really doing this? She was excited, but also nervous. "I want to keep my flat though, just for a little while, I don't want to live there, but I need somewhere to go if this all goes wrong. I've been homeless before and I can't do it again." Emma added, being realistic and acting like an adult as she normally thought with her heart and not her head. She knew the trouble her heart could get her into.

"Thats fine, but as soon as you're ready, I'm willing to legally put your name on this house." Regina added, "I don't want me having full control, I want us to be in this together." Regina added, she had never been like this with anyone, she wasn't even this forward at the start of her relationship with her ex. It took her a good few months to even commit to the relationship and here she was less than three months of meeting this girl, she was asking her to move in.

"You want me to own a house with you?" Emma said wide eyed and taken back by what Regina had asked of her, she wasn't just asking her to move in she was asking her to own a house with her, this perfect woman, this perfect house with the perfect son. Emma couldn't be happier.

"Yes," Regina exclaimed, "Thats exactly what I'm asking you."

"Id be more than happy, Regina." Emma replied, sealing the deal with a kiss.

Regina's phone pinged, it was an unfamiliar number. "Hey, its Zelena, we need to talk." Came through, Zelena was Sydneys sister, what the hell did she want? Regina decided to reply in the morning, nothing was getting in her way of happiness tonight.
