Ami swallowed the deceit down. She could sense Mina's apprehension.

"Usagi, if you pay attention for five minutes, I can walk you through the new security update I want you to do to your phone-"

Come on, Usagi. Be lazy like usual.

A petulant slump and slack-necked swivel of disdain followed, her blonde pigtail cascading over her shoulder as she exaggerated her disinterest. "Amiiiiiiii," Usagi whined, "do I have to? Is this necessary?"

"Yes."

Usagi smiled sweetly at her with wolfy eyes. "Could you just…do it for me?"

Bingo.

Mina smiled down at her open magazine, horoscopes at the ready.

"If I do these for you every time, you will be so out of touch with technology-"

"But you're so much better at it!" Usagi pouted, holding her phone out to Ami.

Ami accepted the device, feeling uneasy. Usagi seemed completely normal. She seemed herself. She was ready to trust Ami with the phone automatically, so there couldn't be anything to hide. Or maybe she just trusted Ami not to snoop at all as she 'updated'. She wasn't sure which felt worse- that there was nothing to hide and she was betraying her leader and friend for no reason, or there was something to hide but Usagi trusted her implicitly.

"This update can take up to ten minutes to comple-"

"My sweet, sweet IT guru," Usagi deadpanned, "you just tell me when you're done. I can keep myself occupied." She pulled a Gameboy from her purse for emphasis.
