Hercules sighed in relief, which sounded more like a tired sigh then one of worry. Kiku watched as they pulled Arthur up on the deck and grappled his hands behind his back. Hercules looked at him with a lazy worry in his green eyes.
"Kiku…I'm glad you're safe." Kiku nodded with a little bow before Hercules turned on Arthur, "Clasp him in irons, behind his back this time, so he doesn't break free again." Kiku frantically grabbed Hercules' hand.
"Commodore, you can't do that!" Hercules eyes sharpened at Arthur in disgust.
"You're speaking up for him…again." Kiku held onto the arm in his grip as Hercules attemped to shake him off.
"He can rocate the Isre de Muerta, but I don't think he wirr be wirring to herp us from the brig." Kiku turned a hopeful look to Arthur who was looking away muttering to himself.
Arthur mumbled under his breath and turned on a smile as Hercules glanced at him, green eyes still skeptical.
"We had time to get to know each other, you know, on that island he burnt to a crisp to send you a signal." Hercules ignored their efforts, well Kiku's at least.
"We are bound for Port Royal, not Isle de Muerta…I'm…sorry." Kiku panicked more so and dug his nails into Hercules' fresh suit.
"No, prease. The pirates have Arfred-" Hercules turned on Kiku.
"Your father is frantic with worry and we set out on a rescue mission to return you home… Mister Jones' fate is regrettable, but it was his decision to engage in piracy." Kiku was throwing himself before Hercules now in one last, desperate attempt.
"Commodore…prease…"
Arthur watched Kiku desperately try to rescue Alfred and pittied his tender heart. After a few more moments he cracked and stepped in to back him up.
"Just think about it Commodore… The Black Rose and her crew… The last threat to the Carribbean. How can you pass that up?" Hercules turned to Arthur again looking about ready to crack, but something was holding him back.
"By knowing I serve others and not just myself." Kiku turned hysterical and pleaded with him one last time.
"I beg of you Commodore, do it for me…as a wedding gift…" Hercules blushed but turned a cool face back on.
"Am I right in saying…that you'll accept my wedding proposal under the condition that I rescue Mister Jones?" Kiku let his heart sink a little and swallowed in preparation for what I was about to say.
"Not a condition, a request." Hercules turned to the sea and considered for a few, painful, seconds before he turned to a high ranking crew member.
"Free Mister Kirkland from his irons and prepare to come about. He'll give you your heading."
A man behind him unlocked his shackles and Arthur smirked rubbing his red wrists.
"Congratulations, Sir." He headed toward the bridge giving Kiku a brief look of sympathy before he was pushed along by the large crew members behind him. He stood overlooking the rolling waves of the sea next to Hercules. Arthur opened his mouth to speak but Hercules abruptly turned on his heels, and strode away. With a slouching shrug, Arthur rolled out a map and began to map directions to the secret island.
Hercules looked over to a crest fallen Kiku and strolled over with his hands wringing behind his back. Kiku looked over into the sea with sad brown eyes at what he had just done to save Alfred. Hercules walked closer and place a hand on Kiku's shoulder.
"Kiku…" Kiku looked up and watched Hercules, "…I hearby, withdraw my proposal…" Kiku looked with wide eyes as he blanched.
"Why?" Hercules sighed and rubbed his tired eyes.
"I…I can see that your heart truly lies with… Mister Jones. Making you…marry me would only make you upset…" Kiku looked at Hercules in a new light and smiled.
"Do you have anything I can properry attire myserf in?" Hercules nodded, yawned, and pointed to his cabin.
"Take what you need…" With a small bow, Kiku strode up the stairs to the captain's cabin. Hercules watched Kiku go and then turned a frowning brow to the open waters.
Alfred struggled at the planks above his head, trying to pry the loose ones away. He became rigged when he heard a small laugh behind him and he jumped from the rafters to see a young Italian teen in front of him. The teen's hair was a dark brown, like melted dark chocolate, and his eyes were golden, a natural, miffed frown creased his brow and a large, strange curl protruded from his right. A sharp smirk whipped across his face as he put his mop into the bucket of water.
"You'd have no-a luck getting out there, above your-a cell is the cannon deck."
Alfred came closer to the bars and the teen flinched back a little, clearly wary of him.
"What happened to Sadik Jones?" The Italian chuckled as he shoved his mop up and down.
"Ah Sadik Jones, what an idiota. He never did-a like what we did to Kirkland. He thought he deserved to be-a cursed when we abandoned him on that island the first time. So, because he-a hated us that-a much, he sent the final piece of Cortes' treasure to-a you." Alfred held the cold iron bars in his hands and his blue eyes filled with curiosity about his father.
"And then he ran, and he's hiding out somewhere where you can't find him." Alfred watched as the boy's turned into a mischievous smile.
"No, not-a exactly. Francis was so angry with him that he had a cannon strapped to his-a leg and pushed him overboard. The last I saw of the man was his-a drowning face as he-a fell into the dark oblivion of Davy Jones' locker."
Alfred's eyes widened at the thought of his father being dead, but he had little time to think on it as Francis appeared from the shadows flanked by Ludwig and Feliciano. He regarded Lovino for a moment before a small, wicked, smile crawled onto his lips.
"Bring 'im, we 'ave arrived at our destination." Alfred recoiled from the bars as Ludwig opened the cell with a click of a lock.
Kiku walked along the deck in more comfortable clothing than the dress he had been forced to wear by Francis. As he breathed in the salty sea air he noticed that Arthur was leaning over the railings watching the waves with hard eyes. Summoning a deep breath Arthur looked out of the corner of his eyes and smiled.
"I guess you didn't tell the Commodore everything then?" Kiku nodded but turned the question back around.
"Neither did you Arthur…" Arthur chuckled and watched the waves roll alongside the ship, "but if I did terr Hercules everything, he would no doubt, stall the rescue, by which time it would be too late." Arthur nodded, his blond hair as messy as normal, but his hat was held in his hand. Kiku's eyebrows curved.
"It seems these men wirr be facing an enemy that cannot be kirred." Arthur nodded and leaned closer, so that the other men would not over hear them.
"I have a plan, and if it succeeds, any battle will be decided briefly and if any occurs, it will be one sided." Kiku smiled, ready to fight.
"What's the pran?"
Just as Arthur was about to open his mouth the lookout shouted from above.
"LAND HO!" All the crew turned to look at the dark island that lay on the horizon with a menacing look that screamed Pirates. Hercules touched Kiku's shoulder and spoke.
"Kiku, I will not compromise your safety, please remain below deck…" Kiku wriggled as he was pulled along by the Lieutenant and Arthur merely watched with amused green eyes.
Once Kiku had been taken away, safely below deck, Hercules turned to Arthur as he creased and placed his hat on his head.
"I don't like the situation … I will not send my men into those complex of caves and have them…slaughtered." Arthur flipped the large feather from his face and smiled.
"Stange, I was thinking just the same, so I have devised a plan…" Arthur looked at Hercules who seemed interested in his plan, "I will go into the caves while you set up an ambush and lure them out into it…" Hercules considered his proposal.
"You…would do that?" Arthur raised a eyebrow.
"They left me stranded twice, what have you got to loose?" Hercules smiled a lazy smile.
"Nothing, because…nothing would please me more than to get rid of you." Arthur clapped his bandaged hands.
"I knew you'd listen to reason."
A dark moon cast itself behind the clouds as Arthur secured his belt around his coat.
"Remember the plans I drew up, they'll get you past the reefs, if your steersman is good enough." Hercules nodded.
"I'll be at the wheel myself." Arthur watched the moon an continued.
"Once I've lured them out, be ready to blast the blooming day lights out of them, it'll be that simple." Hercules, bored of talking, flipped his hand and Arthur stumbled as his boat was dropped into the water. He took hold of the oars and muttered.
"The things I do for people…."
