Ch. 12
On the last day of the holidays Harry was very happy to have been home with all of his family after the rocky start to his summer. And while he was excited to go back to Hogwarts he was sad that he would not see his family again until Halloween. Though when Bill informed them that he was asked to become the Ancient Runes Professor at Hogwarts Harry just could not contain his excitement at that point. Ron just groaned knowing he would have to be very careful what he did this year because Bill would always try to protect Ginny if at all possible.
Through the summer Ron was plotting how to get revenge on Harry, Neville, Draco and Ginny because now that he was stuck with Arthur and the rest of his siblings he not only could not eat as much as he wanted but he had to use his manners if he wanted to eat. While he was unhappy with this situation Harry and everyone else was glad they no longer had to watch him shove food in his mouth like he was dying and that he would be required to not talk with his mouth full.
The next day Harry said his goodbyes to Sirius and Arthur before going to find a compartment on the train with Neville, Ginny, Draco, and the Twins. While sitting in their compartment they were deciding what the first prank should be and who it should be on when Ron burst into the room and demanded that Ginny leave so he could take her place with his best friend.
Before anyone could stop him Ron hit Ginny hard in the face and sent her to the floor in pain. Within seconds he found himself facing down four wands. He decided that it was safer to leave the compartment. When Ginny did not wake up right away Draco left the compartment quickly to find Professor Charlie Weasley as he was the Professor who was supposed to be patrolling the train. Charlie rushed into the compartment to see how badly Ginny was injured to find Neville, Harry and the twins frantically trying to wake her up and he could see a nasty bruise forming on her face.
After waking Ginny up Charlie got the story of what happened in the compartment and after hearing everything he sent an owl up to the school to inform the headmistress what had happened and that they should summon Arthur as well because Ron attacked Ginny unprovoked on the train and that something has to be done. Charlie was livid about how Ron was treating his sister; he made a mental note to get Bill to help him watch out for Ginny and protect her from Ron's vindictiveness.
Upon reaching Hogwarts Ginny was quickly checked out so that she could be sorted into her house at Hogwarts. Ginny was very scared of being sorted into Gryffindor because she knew that in Gryffindor house she would be less safe than in Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw. Ginny watched her friend Luna Lovegood get sorted into Ravenclaw, and finally it was her turn. The sorting hat took nearly as long sorting her as it did Harry as she also had the traits for all houses but finally the hat decided that she should be in RAVENCLAW and Ginny rushed over to the Ravenclaw table and sat down next to Harry who was beaming with happiness that one of his best friends was in Ravenclaw with him. Harry was pleased to meet Luna and she soon joined his circle of friends.
Before going to bed that night Ginny wrote home to her dad that she was sorted into Ravenclaw with Harry and Luna and about what happened on the train so he would be informed by her instead of just by her head of house and the headmistress. Harry also took the time to write to Sirius about the incident on the train as well as the fact that Ginny had joined him in Ravenclaw. Ginny and Harry were excited for their classes to begin.
Harry and Ginny woke up early the next morning so they would have time for breakfast and could get their schedule for the new school term before heading out to their first class of the day.
After breakfast Harry and Ginny went to their head of house for their class schedules which were as follows.

After trading their timetables so the other knew what classes they had when, Harry insisted on walking Ginny to her class so the both left the great hall about 15 minutes early. Upon arriving at her Transfiguration class Ginny pulled out her book to start reviewing the first chapter. She saw the professor in his animagus form and winked at him to show she knew who he was.
After dropping Ginny off at class he headed for his Potions class and arriving early he sat down and waited for Neville to join him, only a couple minutes later Neville joined him in reading up on the potion they would be brewing that day. Knowing Professor McNeil would assign the person next to them as their partner they made sure to flag down Draco as well so he could get a seat next to Padma Patil and have a decent chance of getting along with her and not having to do all the work.
Potions went off without a hitch as Ron was not in class with them. Before Harry knew it Potions was over and he was on his way to Ancient Runes. He had mixed feelings about the class on the one hand he was excited that he would be studying Ancient Runes and on the other we was disappointed that he had to have such an exciting class with Gryffindor cause he knew Ron would disrupt the class.
Upon entering his Ancient Runes class Harry found a seat at the front of the class, after nodding to Bill he took out his needed materials for class and started reviewing the first chapter in his text book so he would be prepared. A couple of minutes later found Rose sitting next to him.
Ron arrived about a minute late to class and slammed the door behind him disturbing Bill's explanation that he would not tolerate any nonsense in his class and that if they wanted to pass to 3rd year they would make sure they were not kicked out of his class. Ron stomped his way to the desk with Harry and Rose, shoved her out of the seat and tried to sit down. Harry again helped Rose up and turned his glare on Ron.
"Mr. Weasley you will find your own seat one that is not occupied by another student, also 50 points and detention with me tonight for disrupting this class and for shoving another student you have been spoken too before about bullying other students and it will not be tolerated in my classroom." Growled Professor Weasley upon seeing how his brother was acting in his class and with other students.
"Oh come off it Bill your my brother and Harry is my best friend and she was in the way of me sitting with him. I should not get into trouble for that and besides since your my brother you should not be allowed to punish me unfairly." Snarled Ron who believed he was doing nothing wrong.
"Make that 2 days of detention and I will dock more points from Gryffindor if you do not find your own seat now without further disruptions to my class and you are to address me as Professor Weasley." Said Bill to Ron who was continuing to glare at furiously because he could not get away with acting out. "And if you think me being your brother will keep you out of trouble in my class room you can think again. I expect much better of you and if you continue to act up in my class room not only will I give you detention every night but as you are on probation you will get kicked out of school as well. You would do well to remember what is expected of you."
After the trouble in Ancient Runes Bill asked Harry a question about what they were assigned to read and after a correct answer from Harry he gave Ravenclaw 10 points and went on to ask other students questions about the reading as well, the rest of the class was uneventful until Bill assigned homework which caused Ron to make a further stink but after another 20 points loss and two more days of detention he backed down.
Harry was in Defensive Magic and it was eventful in the fact that they learned a lot but uneventful in the fact that he didn't have Ron in the class to disrupt it all the time. In fact the rest of his day went well as he did not have Ron in any more of his classes that day. After dinner Harry joined, Neville, Draco, Ginny, Luna, Fred, George and several other friends in the library to study and do their homework. When Ginny and Luna had questions about their essays the older students were happy to help them.
Harry found he enjoyed his Defensive Magic classes the best of all of his classes. He loved all his classes but he just seemed to get Defensive Magic the most. Harry found that this year was his most difficult year and he tended to spend more time on his homework but his grades gave him great satisfaction as he was doing very good in his classes and he knew that Remus and Sirius would be very proud of his grades as well.
