Darkness surrounds me I feel so lost and scared. I don't know where I am or who I am. Something feels wrong and off, but I am just floating in nothingness. I am lost like a child surrounded by destruction that I can do nothing about. I want to scream for help, but I know I am the only one who can save myself. I can hear nothing but evil laughter that seems to be coming from all around me and from within me. What is going on with me? What is wrong with me? This spiraling nightmare is getting out of control. A bright light appears in the darkness and a voice speaks.
"The crystal is broken as your heart is. The confusion within will not end until your heart is healed, and then so shall the crystal. Nothing is to be worried about protect the stone Serenity, but more importantly protect your heart. This new evil will be the worst yet. I shall not leave you or your guardians weak. Look to Luna she has the answers. Somethings my daughter you have to start over to grow again. I love you my Serenity never forget that. Return to your family," a woman finished materializing and kissed my forehead, "I can only return some of what has been taken so that you can help in the fight ahead. Take care Serenity."
Serena P.O.V.
I jerk awake from the weirdest dream of my life. I look around that Darien guy is laying his head on my bed beside me and is looking around lost when I jerked awake. I see Ami and Rae asleep in the room as well. I don't know what is going on. So much is flooding my mind as the dream seems to be fading into obscurity. What crystal was that pretty woman talking about? Is it the same one as in my broach? How could an inanimate object protect me?
A flash appears in my head of me pulling a band aid off of Luna's head and how later that night she came to me and gave me that transformation pen. I remembered the fights everything was coming back. But something felt like it was missing. I would narrowly avoid an attack, but it was just me. How could I dodge some of those attacks on my own? Everything was coming back up to the star seeds being stolen from my friends and family.
Us getting stronger together as scouts the training sessions. My family deciding to leave me behind because I was a hindrance. My picking anime/manga club so I could draw the comics like I so enjoyed doing over studying. Mina and me hanging out. The wonderful birthday I had with my scouts and us partying all night long. Us single ladies. I smile towards the girls and then look at Darien. He is still a blank spot in my memories. All I can remember is hitting him with my test paper and him insulting me. There's nothing else besides those events. Oh well if he says we have become friends maybe it is so.
"Hey Darien do you mind getting me some water?"
He jumps up and says, "No problem Serena I'll be right back," and with that he leaves the room.
"Ami, Rei, where are Lita and the others? Am I in here because of a new enemy?" I ask.
"You remember?" Ami uncharacteristically shrieks.
"I still feel like there are some gaps. But I had this woman come to me in my dreams she told me she wasn't going to leave us defenseless completely with a new enemy. That she was gifting me with some of my memories I guess. But she also mentioned something about a crystal?" I shake my head as some of the earlier parts of the conversation fled, "Does Darien know anything about us? I'm sorry he's just a blank spot."
Rei looked towards Ami and said, "Tuxedo Mask."
"Who?" I ask.
Ami coughed a little and said, "It's a code name for that discussion. He knows yes, but we will leave it up to you Serena."
"I just can't remember him. I don't like this and trust this. I know I can trust you girls, but I don't want to include him in anything really. I mean how can a guy go from hating my guts and bullying me to wanting to be my friend." I scoff a bit, "look when they release me can I still stay with you Ami. I am all alone and I know I'll need some help with things. And we need to get a scout meeting together with Artemis and Luna. I can't seem to find my transformation pen and that woman told me to talk to Luna about getting it."
Ami said, "Sure Serena of course the invitation just because you remember us is still open. We will have a meeting tomorrow night around six. Do you remember about..." She shifted uncomfortably.
"If you are asking about Amara, Michelle, Trista, and Hotaru then yes I remember them the outers. I am sure we will need them in the fight ahead. We need them there." I answer her.
"I'll make the call," Rei said and stepped out of the room.
Rei P.O.V.
She remembers everything and everybody, but Darien. It's like he never existed in her memory she was more trusting of him in the beginning as Tuxedo Mask. She can't remember her mother either. I see Darien coming down the hall I feel sorry for him. He really is trying to make things up to Serena, and now this. He's looks so worried and scared. His face is creased in worry lines.
"Hey Darien before you go in there we need to talk."
He jerks and looks at me for a moment and said, "Sure what's up Rei."
"Before you get excited her mother came to her in her dreams. She remembers all of us scouts and I mean all of us. Just not you even Tuxedo Mask doesn't ring a bell. It's almost like you've been whipped clean from her mind. You and the crystal that is. She thinks she uses a pen like us. It's like a reset with you gone. Her mother said something about not leaving us defensless against a new enemy. There is a scout meeting tomorrow at six. She doesn't want you there. She knows you know about us. She doesn't trust it or you. I guess you are getting your second chance don't blow it Darien. Because if you hurt her again I will use my Mars fire on your butt and I wont help hold Amara back you got that."
Darien looked hurt for a moment and said, "Do you think the crystal did this to protect her. I broke her heart and Alan and Seiya being around and her mind and heart being torn all over the place? It's done things like this before."
"I think from what's going on yes. I mean we will have to confirm with Ami, but I don't think we need her for this one. The crystal is broken Darrien. She lived thank goodness unlike last time with that friend of yours..." I started to say when he cut me off.
"That's right and a kiss brought her back maybe..." He said starting to charge off.
I grab a hold of his arm and say, "Don't Darien if it doesn't work then you will lose any kind of ground work you have made. Just start from scratch be her friend. Build that trust then see what happens."
He nods his head a look of sadness on his features. He carefully pulls it back and says, "Your right Rei. I'm going to win my Serena back. I don't care if she can be the princess ever again or not. I just want her back. I've learned so much about her that I've turned a blind eye to because I was so prejudiced of her and thinking of her as the meatball headed brat that I first met. I want to get to know her as she is now. Like you said a fresh start, and I'm not going to let it go to waste." With that he nodded his head lifted it and went into the room.
I finished making the plans and went back into the room. I smiled at Ami and she smiled back. We have Serena back. Somewhat. But that's better than nothing. Time for the game plan and for us to help Darien learn the true Serena and win her back and defeat the new enemy. Nothing will stop us now.
