I've got a lead John! More than a lead actually. The homeless network says that they may have actually seen you be taken into a building. They say you were unconscious and that worries me, but at least you aren't dead and now I have a lead that will take me straight to you. I won't wait a moment longer to come and find you.
Lestrade's going to be mad at me again. He's told me that I've broken into one too many houses to find you. Several of them actually had families who had moved into them recently and they were scared out of their mind when I broke down their door. Don't give me that disappointed face that you always give me when I tell you about this because you must know that there was no time for me to attempt to pick the locks. I have to find you as soon as possible.
I'm here, John. Just outside of the door to the house where you are being held captive. I have your gun hidden in the same place that you usually hide yours. You'll know where it is if you have to take it from me, but I don't think that'll really be necessary since I'm going to have to get past your captors before I get to you. I could just wait for them to leave the house, but I don't want to wait that long and take the chance that they might be hurting you even more and I can't have that.
Don't worry, I've already called Lestrade, but he won't make it here in time to stop me from knocking down the door as I'm already lifting my foot to do just that and I still don't hear the sirens.
But what if they hear me knock down the door and use you as a hostage. I can't put you in that sort of situation right now. Not after all you've been through. I'll have to think of something else. I can't use the police because that would lead to the same outcome. There has to be something else that I can use. Something else that's believable.
Ah!
I've got an idea John. Hopefully these people are as bad as I think they are because if they aren't than I'll have to go to plan B and you won't like plan B.
I knock on the door sluggishly. I have to get into character now so they aren't suspicious when they open the door. There is no answer. "Come on," I say loudly. "Open the door. I got somethin for ya."
"What," a rather burly man rips the door open with a glare. He's taller than me, and that's hard to do as you have assured me on a general basis, but that doesn't concern me in the least. The only thing that concerns me is getting inside to see you.
"I got somethin for ya," I repeat as I pull out a little bag of cocaine. I know that you aren't going to happy if you figure out what I used as my cover and you'll ask why I had the cocaine with me in the first, but I won't let you find out. I'm just going to give this to these guys and it can be added onto their list of charges.
"That's it?" the man scowls.
"No," I snort. That is all I have, but there's no way that this guy would ever be able to tell that I'm lying. "What do ya think this coat is for?"
"Well what else do you have?" he asks.
"I can't show you out here," I answer. "Ya never know when the man is watching."
The man turned around to look at someone else before he finally opened the door and let me in. It doesn't take me long to take stock of everything that's around me. It seems that these two males are the dominant ones and they stay near the door in order to make sure no one gets past them. If I can take them out, anyone else will give up easily. This won't take long John. Just wait for me a bit longer. Believe in me a bit longer.
"So what are you really doing here?" the man asked. "There's no way you just go knocking on random doors to sell them crack."
"Ah," I straighten. "So you've seen through my ploy. Very well. I've come here to take my John back from you."
The two were seriously lacking in their guard duties. They were probably getting overconfident that they had lasted this long without getting caught so they thought that they wouldn't need to defend themselves any longer. Their employer, because there was no way that these idiots would be able to pull something like this off without any help, had probably wanted them to get caught a lot earlier than this. I can't help but feel angry that I wasn't able to live up to expectations and even angrier to know that it was because Mycroft thought it was a good idea to hide your disappearance from me.
Don't ask me to forgive him once I get you back John. Even the fact that he gave me whole life's story to Moriarty wasn't as unforgivable as this. I don't think I'll ever forgive him now even if you tell me to. In fact, I think that I might just cut off all ties with him after this day. Let that be a lesson to him.
But I'm getting off topic and the men are glaring at me as I hold your gun towards them. They should have had guns of their own, but I think they've probably left them somewhere because they didn't think that I would come and get you. You wouldn't be stupid enough to do that. No matter how much time had passed, if I told you that you needed to defend something you would do it until I told you it wasn't necessary anymore because you believe in me. Please tell me you still believe in me.
"Now if you don't mind I'll just go pick him up," I continue. "Where is he?"
"We don't know what you're talking about," one of the men growl. He's lying. I can tell that he is. You would ask me how I know, but I really don't feel like explaining my deductions. You understand don't you John?
"Sherlock!" Lestrade gasps from the still open door way. These people really are letting their guard down if they are leaving doors open. I don't pay a second mind to anyone in the room. Lestrade and his men can take care of the kidnappers if they try to escape. The only thing that I care about is getting to you.
I still have the gun in my hand when I am faced with a woman. She doesn't look like the type who would want to be kidnapping people. She must be hired for a different reason and she's probably being bribed or something of that nature, but I can't be bothered by that now.
"Where is he?" I ask as I point the gun at her face. She's frightened, but she turns right back around to lead me to you. She's been waiting for me to come, I can tell. She's been wanting me to come and save you this whole time.
"He's just in here," she points to a door, hands over a key, and then walks back to the living room where I know she will give herself up to the police and earn a plea bargain in return for telling them everything that she knows. I don't watch her go.
Instead I thrust the key into the key hole and unlock the door with a loud click.
I can't undo the things that led us to this place
At first I can't see anything in this room that the woman has lead me to, but I don't want to take the time to try to find some sort of light switch. I have to get to you as soon as possible. The time is still ticking and you are still in their captivity. I intend to stop that right now so I venture blindly into the room. I know you would not have been happy with me if you knew what I was doing because there might very well be traps in this room instead of you, but I don't care right now. All that matters is you. Actually, I'm surprised that you haven't scolded me about my blind escapade. Maybe you really aren't in this room. Maybe I really have been lead into a trap. No! I can't let myself be distracted.
I can see the outline of your body now, John. Why aren't you moving? Why haven't you said anything to me? Are you "Alright?" I hear my voice whisper. "Are you alright John?" I ask again now that I know that I really am speaking. You don't stir and that scares me more than I'd like to admit.
