Chapter 13

(The next day at ELQ, AJ and Michael are busy at work. Michael nervously glanced at his father now and then. AJ picked up on that and knew something was troubling his son. AJ couldn't take it anymore. He rests his elbows on the edge of his desk and looked at his son, who had a little desk of his own to work at)

AJ: (sincerely) "Is something troubling you, son?"

(Michael looks at his father in confusion)

Michael: "What do you mean?"

AJ: (chuckles slightly) "No offense, but I've noticed the nervous glances you've been giving me for the last hour. I've been waiting for you to spill, but it's clear you won't."

(Michael sighs deeply at his father as it was obvious something was troubling him)

AJ: "I assure you, son, I won't get mad."

(Michael puts down his pen and faces AJ)

Michael: "Something happened yesterday after you left to go to Elizabeth's."

AJ: (nods) "Okay. Go on."

Michael: "Tracy came by."

AJ: (rolls his eyes) "Yay. What'd she say this time?"

Michael: "The usual. She belittled you and made it sound like I was more into Starr than work."

AJ: "Which I know isn't true so you're fine."

Michael: "I got fed up with her attitude so Starr and I yelled at her. We told her you're more equipped to be CEO of ELQ than she is because she almost ran the company into the ground. If she wants someone to blame, to look in the mirror. She threatened to have Edward fire you. She then ran off in a huff." (apologetically) "I'm sorry if I made things worse for you."

AJ: (smiles) "I assure you that you didn't. What you and Starr said was true. I'm proud of you for handling her. Edward has told me himself he is proud of what I have accomplished." (seriously) "I will clear the air with Tracy and let her know she can't come and go as she pleases. I will, of course, make sure Edward is okay with that. I'm sure he will be."

Michael: (smiles) "Sounds good." (smirks) "By the way, how'd yesterday go? I'm assuming you were able to talk to Elizabeth?"

AJ: (chuckles) "Yes. We discussed our feelings for each other, I'm happy to report."

Michael: (laughs) "And?"

AJ: "We admitted our feelings for each other." (smiles happily) "I asked her out and she said yes."

(Michael raises his hands and shapes them into a fist, smiling)

Michael: "Yes! That's what I'm talking about!"

AJ: (laughs) "Someone's excited!" (nods) "I am, too, though."

Michael: "So, when the first date?"

AJ: "She's off tomorrow, which leads me to a question for you."

Michael: "Okay."

AJ: "When I'm not able to be here, which isn't very often, you are kind in taking over here. Would you mind it if I left a little early tomorrow and you help out here at ELQ?"

Michael: (smiles) "No problem."

AJ: "I know you don't need to work here alongside me or help out, but I do appreciate it."

Michael: "I would love to help you out. For the record, it's an honor to work beside you here. I have no problem staying here so you can take Elizabeth out." (points at AJ) "I want a full report, by the way."

AJ: (laughs) "Yes, sir."

(They exchange a smile before getting back to work. Meanwhile, at General Hospital, Felix, Sabrina, and Elizabeth are at the Nurse's Station doing paperwork. After privately stealing glances at Elizabeth for a few minutes, he can no longer hold his tongue. He quickly faces his friend)

Felix: "Are you ever going to tell us what happened between you and the hunk yesterday?"

(Felix's questionable comment causes Elizabeth to laugh)

Liz: "Excuse me?"

Felix: (nods) "You heard me, woman."

Sabrina: (chuckles) "Felix, you don't need to know every last detail in a woman's life."

Felix: (rolls his eyes) "Sabrina, I'm not asking about her sex life."

Liz: (sighs in relief) "Thank God!"

Felix: "But I would like to know if AJ made a move."

(Elizabeth briefly looks at her friend and chuckles)

Liz: "You won't give up, will you?"

Felix: (smirks) "You know you want to spill, girl."

(Elizabeth looks at Sabrina, who tries to fight the urge to ask for details herself)

Liz: (chuckles & nods) "Okay. We admitted to each other we had feelings for each other. Then he asked me out."

(Felix stares at Elizabeth in expectancy for a few moments before groaning in frustration)

Felix: "You're leaving out the best part, girl!"

Sabrina: (chuckles) "He does have a point."

Liz: (smiles happily) "I said yes. I can't wait for our first date."

Felix: (prodding) "Which is when?"

Liz: "Tomorrow is my day off so he's taking me out."

Sabrina: "Where?"

Liz: "I don't know." (smiles) "I'm sure I'll love it, though." (sighs) "I'll have to find a babysitter for the boys."

Felix: (puzzled) "Doesn't Audrey usually help?"

Liz: (nods) "She does. But she has plans. She offered to change them, but I told her no. She is kind in watching the boys when I have to work. The one time she has plans, I told her I wasn't going to interfere." (shrugs) "I'll find someone."

Felix: (shrugs) "What about me? I don't have plans or work tomorrow. I don't mind watching the young ones."

Liz: (raises her eyebrows) "Are you sure, Felix? They can be pretty hyper when they want to be."

Felix: (smirks) "I can handle the attitudes of the patients here. I'm pretty sure I can handle Cameron and Aiden." (shrugs) "Besides, they're my buddies."

(Sabrina laughs as she points at Felix)

Sabrina: "Don't let Dr. Quartermaine hear you say that."

Liz: "As long as you're sure, then the job is yours."

(Felix looks around before facing Elizabeth again)

Felix: "Where's your brother today? I just realized I haven't seen him yet today."

Liz: "He has the day off, so he is with Olivia."

Sabrina: (chuckles) "How sweet!"

(Felix smirks and raises his eyebrows)

Felix: "You do realize when Steve heard about you and AJ, he's going to want a full report."

Liz: (turns her head slightly) "You mean like you will?"

Felix: (smiles guiltily) "Maybe."

Liz: (smiles) "You're one of a kind, aren't you, Felix?"

Felix: (nods) "We're still buddies, though."

Liz: (nods & smiles) "Always."

Chapter 13 Done
