"MOMMY! I was so scared! You told me not to let go of your hand and I didn't but then...but then..." His eyes started to fill up with tears and fall down his cheeks, I reached a hand up and brushed them away with my thumb before I lifted him off the ground and sat him on my good leg, rubbing his back.

"Shh, its alright. The good thing is that I'm here, and I'm alive."

He nodded his head and looked towards Naru. "But why isn't Daddy awake?"

I shook my head and kissed his forehead "I don't know sweetie, I don't know..."

Lin ended up going to the nurses and having them move my stuff into Narus room, I don't know what the excuse was but I think I heard Madoka mumbling something about passing for Naru's wife... I looked across at the man who saved my life and sighed, thinking about how vulnerable he looked right now. The nurse took the tube out of his mouth and replaced it with a breathing mask, why, I don't know.

At first, I was happy that he was safe and that he risked his life to save me but then I got really angry and upset because the idiot scientist used his PK knowing that he could get himself killed! I groaned loudly and fell back onto my bed, wincing slightly as my leg moved. I ran a hand through my hair and poked my tongue out at how greasy it felt.

'Man..I wish I could have a shower..' I thought, closing my eyes and imagining myself relaxing in a bath. I was just about to doze off when I heard a young boys excited voice come bouncing through the corridor. I opened my eyes and let a wide smile fall on my face as Gene came bounding through the door and onto my bed, making sure to be careful of my leg.

"Mummy! Are you feeling better? Are you? Are you?" Gene exclaimed to me as he bounced excitedly on my bed, making my body rise and fall softly.

I looked up at Masako who happened to be near the door holding a bouquet of flowers, followed by John. I smiled warmly at them as Gene babbled on about action figures. I motioned for them both to come inside, which they followed.

"We saw Lin and Gene in the cafeteria and stopped to say hi. But then Lin said he had to go get something and so here we are" John explained with a warm smile.

I smiled back and watched Masako put the flowers into a vase, taking out the old ones which I never noticed were there. " I bought him a milkshake, I hope that's okay?" Masako turned and looked at me, tilting her head to the side.

I just nodded and patted Genes head, running my hand softly through his hair as I watched him play with his batman toy. "Thanks to the both of you." I smiled, looking up from the child on my bed and saw both John and Masako standing there awkwardly. I giggled and pointed to the chairs "You can sit down, you know."

The gave an awkward chuckle but made no move to take my suggestion. John was the first to speak up. "So Mai, Do you know how Kazuya is doing?"

I shook my head and glanced at Naru, sadness over coming me. "I don't know John, I really wish he would wake up soon though." I wiped my eyes with the back of my hand and shook my head. "I'm sorry guys, but could you please leave me alone? I don't feel too good." They nodded their head and were about to leave but I called out to Masako. "Could you please take Gene to Ayako or Madoka? That would help greatly"

"Sure Mai. I hope you get better soon. " Masako gave me a genuine smile and took Gene from my arms, but not before I gave him a kiss on the head and told him to be a good boy.

"Thanks Masako." They left my room quietly and I heard the door click shut. I waited ten seconds to make sure they were gone before I started bawling my eyes out. All the pain I've kept hidden and all the worry from this case just came pouring out and I couldn't stop it.

"Dont cry, its unattractive"

I stopped crying immediately and went stiff. I knew that voice, hell I would recognise it anywhere. Slowly, I turned around and saw Naru smirking at me while holding the breathing mask a few inches away from his mouth. I gasped in shock and in relief and started crying again, burring my head in my hands but still looking at Naru. "Naru..Is that really you?"

"No, I'm a ghost that came back to haunt you. Of course it's me Stupid"

I poked my tongue out at him and sighed in relief. "Oliver Davis! You don't have any idea how worried you made me! Or your son for that matter! I swear if I wasn't in a cast and you didn't just wake up, I would go over there and slap your handsome face silly!"

I saw him smirk again. "You think my face is handsome?"

My eyes went wide and I slapped a hand over my mouth. "Oh..ahh...N-No thats no-"

"At least you've got good taste"

I gasped and glared at him "NARU! YOU JERK!" I screamed at him, pointing my finger straight in his face. He just smirked at me.

"Dont scream Mai. We're in a hospital"

I glowered at him but stayed silent. 'If only you really knew how worried you made me Naru. I don't want to care about you but I don't think my feelings have changed in all those years..' I thought to myself. "I really do love you, you narcissistic, tea-loving, idiot scientist..." I laid back down on the bed and closed my eyes, sleep slowly overcoming me.

Little did I know that I muttered the last part out loud and a certain jerk heard it. He smiled slightly at me and whispered back at me, but I was too far gone to hear it. I think it went something like "...I love you too idiot..." but I doubt it.

The ending was cute dont you think? I liked it alot if I do say so myself! :)
