Welcome to the next chapter in the twisting plot that is this story. Are you ready for this?
I was practicing for tomorrow and InuYasha wouldn't leave me alone. He sat and listened to me play popular slow songs like Jar of Hearts, Say Something, and Impossible. I'm glad he heard every single one of them.
Sesshomaru came down the stairs, eyes red not from going demon, but from crying. "Fix me."
I nodded and followed him. "Let's get you some cucumbers and I'll boil some water and lemon juice."
He gave me a look. "What is the boiling water and lemon for? I understand the cucumbers, but water with lemon? Wouldn't that make me leak more?"
I giggled. "Just trust me, would you?"
I got some slices of a cucumber out and put them on his eyes. "What does this do?"
I rolled my eyes. "Just trust me, would you? That's the second time I've had to tell you that. I'm going to boil the water and lemon." I rolled my eyes as I got out everything to get rid of Sesshomaru's emotional fits. I felt sorry for him, but I could relate to him. "You know it kind of gets better. You'll eventually stop crying every hour or so, and then you go down to twice a day, and then you go down to once a day, and then you start to get back into a daily routine. It gets better."
I walked back to him and took the slices off his face. "Is the water ready?" His eyes looked better. I smiled and nodded and he got up. "What do I do, drink it, use it as eye drops?"
I bent over laughing. "Just hold your face over the steam that's all you have to do for about five minutes." Five minutes passed by faster for me then it did for him. He looked much better after though. "You don't look like you've been crying at all now. Do you want some food?" He nodded a little. "Go sit and I'll make you something without pomegranate seeds in it, how about that?"
He smiled and nodded as he sat down at the island, where we all sat all the time. I made some mashed potatoes and green beans, you know, soul food. I handed them to him and he looked happy. I also remember that he really likes healthy stuff. He stabbed the green beans and munched on them for a little bit.
"So what have you been doing for the past few hours? I heard you playing, but I couldn't tell what it was?"
"I was playing my pieces. He told me I could play whatever I wanted, within reason, so I went with Jar of Hearts, Say Something, and Impossible. What have you been doing for the past few hours?"
He gave me a look. "What do you think I've been doing for a while, Kagome? Go back to that Souleater and be his booty call, would you?"
I laughed. "I am no one's booty call, thank you."
"I think you could be InuYasha's booty call. He seemed like he was doing you in his mind."
"You know what Sesshomaru, I'm going to leave, and then you're going to stop making those jokes. You have been a little pervert for a while now. What has gotten into you?"
He shrugged. "I don't know, I guess I think it's funny or something, especially with that Souleater! That was funny, no offence"
"None taken, don't worry, boy. I will get you back somehow."
He laughed but kept eating. "Hey Kagome, you should get back to practicing."
I rolled my eyes. "And be with InuYasha and his glare that he always has on his face when he sees me? I don't think so."
He laughed. "Just go, would you?" I rolled my eyes but left him to his thoughts and food. I sat back down at the piano and InuYasha was still on the chair, glaring at me.
"Thank you for this afternoon, Kagome. I love it when my plan to ruin my brother's life is thwarted by a girl who can't keep her own life together but tried to get other people's lives together."
I rolled my eyes and played a few scales. "Could you leave me alone or something, I have things to do and you're not helping me."
"Maybe I should leave you for your new boyfriend, Sesshomaru. You and he seem to be closer than you and I ever were."
I shook my head and kept going. "Don't hate your brother. He made a rude comment and he apologized for it, why do you have to do that to him? You know he's broken from Rin."
"That didn't stop him from kissing you!"
"That doesn't matter. You were out of line to do that to him. He never meant to hurt you, you meant to hurt him."
He shook his head and got up. "Why are you trying to make this seem like it's about him, when you know it's about you?"
"What are you talking about?" He got closer and stood behind me and put his hands on the piano, blocking me from leaving.
"You told me that you would rather be with a Souleater then me! Do you have any idea how much that hurt me?" He whispered in my ear, making my skin crawl.
I huffed. "Do you think I know what it feels like when someone would be with scum of the earth than you? Do you think I know what that feels like?"
He was about to say something, but he didn't. Instead he just sighed. "Okay so maybe you do, but you can't compare those things to Yura, she's better."
I scoffed. "Not by much apparently." I tried to play a few scales, but his hands were in the way. "Could you maybe not be right behind me and get your hands off the piano? I need to practice, so get off."
He got closer. "What if I don't want to get off? What are you going to do then?"
I rolled my eyes and was about to show him just what I was going to do, but this isn't my piano so that would be rude. "I don't want to break your dad's piano, so just get the hell off and I'll let you go free."
"Tell me one thing and I will. Did you mean it, that you would rather be with a Souleater than be with me?"
I sighed. "I would never mean anything like that."
He let go and backed away. "That's good news then." He gave me a sad smile before leaving the room. I continued to try and practice, but it didn't work. I gave up and went to talk to Sesshomaru but it turns out that he left to be away from InuYasha.
I rolled my eyes and tried to find something to do. I couldn't focus on music, my homework was already done, and I didn't see InuTaisho anywhere near here. The only other person I could find was InuYasha, and I'm not going to talk to him anytime soon, on my own free will that is.
In the end, I settled for watching a movie in the living room. I watched one that InuYasha and I watched a lot. I loved it though. When that was done, there was still no one in the house but InuYasha.
"I'm starting to think that no one in this house likes me anyway."
InuYasha sat down on the couch next to me. "That seat is taken."
He scoffed. "I didn't see anyone in it." He was on the far side of the couch and he scooted until he was right next to me, like as in touching me. "If that seat is taken then that means that this one isn't taken." He yawned and used me as a pillow, laying his head on my neck and wrapped his arms around my waist. "I'm going to take a nap. Feel free to join me if you want to."
I rolled my eyes as he curled up next to me. "Get off of me, you'll suffocate me." I tried to get out, but not even my training could get me out. "Let go of me."
He shook his head, burying it more into the crook of my neck. "You were always comfortable and you still are, so I think I'll pass on that one."
I was struggling to get him off of me, but he wouldn't move. "Get off of me InuYasha." I couldn't kick him because his legs restrained mine and his arms were restraining my arms too, so I couldn't move. I sighed. "Why are you doing this?"
He had already fallen asleep before the question came out of my mouth. I rolled my eyes, but rested my head on his and fell asleep with him, just like old times.
When I woke up, I was in InuYasha's room again. It felt like I was in high school with him again. There were so many fabulous things that happened in this room. I missed it, but I wouldn't look back on it.
I looked down and InuYasha was still hugging my sides like a baby would his mother. I rolled my eyes and looked around to see if he had changed anything, but it was all still the same. He even had the same pictures of me on his wall. I looked around some more until I found Sesshomaru and InuTaisho in the doorway.
"You two think this is funny, don't you?" They were looking on us with a look of content and happiness. "This doesn't mean anything. He tied me up with his body and I fell asleep."
InuTaisho took out his camera and took a picture. "There's another one for the album." They looked at the screen together and let out a sigh. I rolled my eyes and woke InuYasha up behind me.
"What's going on?" He took one of the hands from my waist and rubbed his eyes. "What the fuck are you two doing in my room right now? Can't you see I'm having a moment with Kagome?"
They took another picture and looked on us with more content while we looked on them with contempt.
"We are not having a moment, you kidnapped me and I fell asleep. Let me go." I wiggled, but he held onto me tightly. "Knock it off InuYasha and let go of me."
He shook his head. "I don't wanna let you go." I was being pulled closer to him, if that was even possible that is.
"InuYasha I have things to do, now let go of me."
He sighed, his breath tickling my neck and making my hair stand on end. "I say hell no."
I rolled my eyes. "Do you two want to do something about this or do I have to kill your son and brother?"
They looked at each other and shrugged. They walked over and InuYasha tightened his grip and it was painful. They tried prying me from him and it took five minutes, but they got me off him. I flew into InuTaisho and we both fell on the floor. "It's nice to see you Kagome." He laughed.
I rolled my eyes and we got up, my hair looking bad. "I haven't seen you in a while, how have you been?" We both laughed.
InuYasha and Sesshomaru got up and InuYasha jumped over his bed and clung to me again. "I told you guys that I didn't want to let go and now I don't have to!" He jumped out of the room, taking me with him. "I don't want to share."
He jumped into his tree, hiding me from his brother and father. "InuYasha, it's almost time for me to go out and guard your house. I have to go get into uniform."
He just held me closer. He laid down and put me in his lap leaning against his chest. "Just stay right here for now."
"I told you I'd rather be with you then a Souleater, but that doesn't mean that I want you back."
He scoffed. "If you don't want me back then why did you kiss back earlier?"
"If you moved on why did you kiss me in the first place? We seem to be at a draw. Let's just call it a truce and you can let me go and we'll go back to school tomorrow, okay?"
He shook his head. "Just let me have this for a few minutes." I rolled my eyes, but sat back and relaxed, just watching the sky. I remember when he would bring me up here and we would sit out here for hours on end, mostly at night. I remember once it snowed and he brought a red blanket out and wrapped us both up in it.
A few minutes passed by. "It's been a few minutes now, can I go get ready?"
He sighed but jumped out of the tree and we went inside. "I'll see you later." I nodded and changed into the uniform.
"Sesshomaru, it's time for you to join me boy." He popped out in black skinny jeans and a black thermal.
"I am ready to guard with you." He beamed. I hate to tell him that he's only guarding for two hours and that's still with me.
I smiled. "I'm glad you're excited about this, but you're only guarding for two hours and that would be right now."
He frowned. "I only get to be out here for two hours? How is that fair?"
I laughed. "I'm better than you and you haven't had any field experience."
"If you don't let me do anything then how am I supposed to get any?"
"You make a valid point, but you still haven't had near enough training to prepare you for those things, and if you will notice that I've beaten you every time we fight. All Souleaters are either right under my level or way under it, and that's why I rock."
"But if some of them aren't as good as you then I should be fine."
I shook my head. "You should be able to hold out the fight longer if you were there but you can't. I beat you in two minutes and if you were ready it should take twenty minutes for me to beat you."
He sighed. "Can we still do this at school?"
I shrugged. "I don't know, with my schedule and what not, I'm not sure I can. If we can find time to then I would love to continue this."
He smiled. "Let's go kick some ass, shall we?" I nodded and we started.
I know they're out there, I can feel them here. I think they're just waiting to see when Sesshomaru goes inside, which would be right now. "Go on inside, I got it from here." He smiled and went inside. I knocked an arrow and aimed it at the neck of the same guy. "Welcome back, nameless fool."
He smirked, a scar on his eye. "I'm glad you have a pet name for me. We'll be using them when we're married you know."
I laughed. "Who would marry you by their own will?"
He chuckled but stayed where he was. "I will have you, and I will be the first to have you, Queen. I am king of the Souleaters, and you are a queen, so it is just custom that we would be married you know. And don't people that sleep together marry each other?"
"They do but we're not sleeping together and never will be so we're not getting married." I kept the arrow at its position. "Why are you here, Souleater?"
He laughed and stepped forward and I pulled back a little. "I'm calling a truce for tonight. I have no weapons and you need not keep that drawn." I kept it up and he sighed. "Or you could just keep it up, whatever you're most comfortable with. Anyway, I bet you want to know why I am here, don't you?" He smirked.
"What do you think?"
He laughed. "I would like to tell you my name because you're going to want to scream something on our wedding night." He smirked but I showed no emotion. "My name is Hakudoshi and I was Naraku's next-in-line. It is nice to meet you, Kagome."
I narrowed my eyes at him. "I don't know why you're here, but hurry up and leave." I pulled the arrow tighter. "Say what you came to say and leave here."
He put his hands up in surrender. "Alright, as you wish, love." I narrowed my eyes at the pet name. "I came here to look at you in all honesty." I didn't budge, but he started running at me. I fired the arrow and he dodged it. He tried to grab me by the waist but I moved and got into a stance. He moved again and I kept avoiding him.
We were in a dangerous dance, no one ever touching. We circled around each other, one of us making moves to the other one. I saw InuYasha's room light turn on and he opened his window. "Kagome, look out!" I looked for one second, and he pounced and he was able to get me to the ground. He was on his knees in between my legs, hands holding my wrists above my head.
"Get used to this, Chosen One, for we will be like this a lot." He smirked.
I rolled my eyes. "You Souleaters are such perverts." I kicked him off of me and he flew backwards. "I suggest you get out of here before you die alone." He got up and smirked.
"I will see you later, love." He gave me one last look-over and ran. I was mad so I followed him. He got in his wrecked van and drove west. I ran after him, but didn't get very far. I couldn't follow him either, at least not on foot. I would get a bike though. Bike riding was covered in my training and I like to ride a bike.
I came back and InuYasha was waiting for me. "Are you okay? What happened out there?"
I glared at him. "You distracted me and that one second when I wasn't looking he moved and he pinned me. Thank you for that by the way." I crossed my arms over my chest. "Now you know that every second counts when you're in a fight with those things."
He nodded. "So I was listening to him when he pinned you. What was he talking about when he said you would be like that a lot? And what was with the way he pinned you? You're supposed to put your legs outside of the one you're pinning, not inside."
"Are you really that dumb? He came here to tell me his name so I would have something to scream when he rapes me. I'm not having sex with one of those things."
His eyes widened. "So he was serious when he said he wanted you in bed?" I nodded. "That's not going to happen, I won't let it."
I scoffed. "You can't beat your brother in a fight, what makes you think you can stop him from taking me if he wanted to? I'm the only one that could do that."
He narrowed his eyes a little. "I don't care how much it hurts, but I will fight for you."
"Again, you can't beat your brother, you can't try to fight him. He's about at the level Naraku was at, you can't even begin to think about what it takes to kill him."
"I don't care, he's not going to touch you."
"Well obviously you're not doing a good job because he could have killed me just now if I didn't flip him."
"I admit that I made a mistake, but we learn from them."
"You learn from them if you don't die from them first. Do you understand me? If you're dead then you can't learn from anything."
"You wouldn't have died. I won't let it happen."
"What happened a year ago InuYasha? I could have died if Ichijo had not saved me. I made a mistake that almost cost me my life and now I'm not going to make that mistake again. If I had died then it wouldn't have made a difference."
"Well you didn't die, so now everything is okay."
I rolled my eyes. "Go back inside and go to sleep." He strode forward and pulled me to him.
"I thought I would get the Souleater off of you first if that was okay." He seemed to think it was funny, but I busted away from him.
"Go inside InuYasha. Do what I say or you might die tonight. He might come back, I don't think he will, but he might. Go inside and I'll see you in a little while, okay?" I gave a small smile at the end.
He brightened up a little, but he complied and went back inside. I turned around a few moments later and there was a lily and a note on the ground. The note read: Kagome, you truly are amazing. It was from the freak that wanted me in his pants.
I stomped on the flower and flipped my middle finger to the air.
I am done with this chapter, let me know how you liked it.
