about this chapter: well, this got long (and took long)... um, also.. sorry for the long wait. let's see... Konna begins training :). and, new characters!

For updates on my life and why it takes so long to write these chapters: check out my twitter inudigifan201 ... i know, same name; that's the point. (i really need to tweet more...)

PS. I loosely based Kassidy off of Harley Quinn from Batman... long story. and Azula... can't get any crazier than these two.

and Konna loosely off of Flutter-Shy and Princess Luna from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. and yes, I watch MLP:FIM. And you gotta deal with it! and a little off of Rose/Hunts-girl from American Dragon: Jake Long. and Zuko... and she also kinda resembles Queen Elsa from Frozen. funny thing, I finished the original before seeing that movie.

Ch, 13. A little less confusion, a little more explanation please.

Tenzin left before the sun even had a chance to rise. The kids decided to show Konna how to meditate.

She yawned and looked at Jinora who sat before her.

"Am I doing this wrong?" she asked the young air-bender.

Jinora opened one of her eyes and looked Konna over. "Well, for one, you're asking me if you're doing it right. Relax and find peace. Meditation is all about inner peace and quiet." She gave her a soft smile.

Konna gave her a sarcastic smile and giggled a little. "I highly doubt I'll ever find inner peace." She giggle a little more. "My inner turmoil won't let me."

Jinora scooted closer to her. "What's causing your inner turmoil?"

Konna's smile faded. "I can't tell you. It's too painful, and you're too young to know anyway."

Jinora pouted a little.

Konna shrugged. "I'm sorry."

"Konna!" Mako's voice came to their ears.

"Coming." Konna looked back at the direction his voice was coming from. She stood up and looked back at Jinora. "You're lucky." She gave her a soft smile and then walked away.

Mako and Bolin stood at the top of the staircase that lead down to the dock.

"Good morning." Konna smiled at the two of them.

"Have you eaten breakfast yet?" Mako lifted an eyebrow.

Konna's stomach grumbled a little bit. She blushed as she scratched the back of her head in embarrassment.

"Ok, we'll stop and grab something on the way." Mako started down the stairs and motioned them to fallow him.

Konna raised an eyebrow. "Where are we going?" she looked at Bolin.

He smiled wide. "The pro-bending stadium. They're letting us back in. Mako didn't want you and him to accidentally burn down the island, so I suggested we practice at the stadium." He blushed a little. "First idea of mine he's actually liked." He chuckled a little.

She shrugged. "I bet you have great ideas." She blushed as well.

A fire flickered under a moonlit sky in the forest as a younger Konna curled up into a ball and let the warm light embrace her. There was a small pot of soup on the open flame. The old man with the burn on one side of his face lifted the lid and stirred the soup.

After he took a good whiff of the delectable smelling soup; he smiled and looked over at Konna. "Hungry? Because dinner is ready."

She gave him a small smile back. "Thanks uncle." She picked her bowl off the ground and held it up to be filled. He ladled some soup into the bowl and she chugged it down.

He chuckled a little. "Would you like some more?"

She took the last sip in her bowl and gave him a confused look. "But, you need to eat too."

He gave her a soft smile. "You're a growing girl; you need it more than I do."

She shook her head. "I'm full now."

He gave her a sarcastic smile and lifted an eyebrow. "Are you sure?"

She nodded.

"Alright." He drank his soup.

A few hours passed and the fire began to die. The old man added a new fame to it with his fire-bending. He looked over at Konna whom was just staring at the flames.

He sighed. "Konna." She looked up at him. "Get some sleep. It's late."

She gazed back over at the fire. "I can't."

He nodded. "Nightmares?"

"You know it." She answered back with a bit of a monotone. A tear ran down her face. "Every time I close my eyes…" She sniffled. "I see his face… and he's beating me up because I refuse to blood-bend."

He nodded. "It's not natural." He sighed heavily and shook his head. "The person who developed that type of bending, must not have been human anymore. And your kidnapper needs to be locked up or something."

She curled up a bit more. "That's an understatement."

The clothes and padding that the brothers had scrounged up for Konna to ware were extremely baggy and the helmet was falling off her head. She had her long hair in a messy bun to keep it out of her face and try to keep the helmet up, but it didn't work.

Mako shook his head. "Smallest size in the locker room, and it's still too big."

She shrugged. "Can't I just wear my clothes?"

Bolin shrugged as well. "We don't want you getting hurt."

She looked down at her feet. "At least the shoes fit."

Mako rolled his eyes. "That's not going to help." He shook his head. "Just go put on what you were wearing earlier."

"Alright." She shrugged and swiftly walked to the girl's locker room.

Mako looked over at his brother. "I don't get it. How is she still so tiny?"

Bolin shrugged.

"You gain a ton almost every meal you eat."

"Hey, I do not." Bolin flexed his biceps. "This is all muscle."

Mako smiled and patted his brother's stomach. "And this is all flab." He chuckled a little.

Konna pulled off the giant shirt and padding and paused for a moment when she saw herself in the near-by mirror. She walked over to it and gazed at herself. She frowned a little as her eyes wandered down to her scar. She sighed heavily and looked back up at her chest. All her bruises were gone and she finally seemed to have a girlish figure. She seemed perplexed as she gazed at her bust that was wrapped up in white cloth. She never really had to do that before.

She giggled a bit when she saw her hair. She took the ribbon out and let her hair fall down.

The younger Konna washed her hair in the slow river as she was supposed to be fishing for lunch.

The old man sat on the bank with a fishing pole. He laughed a little as he watched the ten-year-old before him splash about in the water. "How's the water?" He called out.

"Refreshing." She called back. She found a deep section and dived in. she swam around and let the cold water seep into her. Fish swam around her. She dove deeper and touched a rock that was on the bottom of the river bed. She then pushed herself off the rock and let herself float back up to the top. She breached the water and took in a big breath of air.

The old man sat back down and picked his fishing rod back up. "I was about to jump in after you."

"I'm fine uncle." She smiled wide.

He smiled back as she waded back to shore. "You seem to be coming to life."

She water-bended the river-water out of her clothes when she reached dry land. "Think so?" She looked up at him.

He smiled. "You act more and more like a ten-year-old every day."

She tilted her head a bit. "And that's a good thing?"

He stood up, walked over to her and put his hand on her shoulder. "You are ten years old." He gave her a soft smile. "You need to be a child while you still can."

She nodded. "I'll try uncle."

A tear ran down her face as she heard a knock on the door.

"Konna?" Bolin voice came from the other side. "Are you in there?"

"Yes." She called back to answer.

He chuckled a little. "Are you done changing clothes yet? Mako's getting irritated." He paused and laughed a bit louder. "It's not wise to anger a fire-bender."

She smiled a bit and shook her head. "Tell him five more minutes. I forgot which locker I put my stuff in."

"Alright." He shrugged.

"Why is he getting irritated anyway?" she asked as she opened the right locker.

He leaned against the wall next to the door. "He's on thin ice with Tenzin. Ya see, Mako was dating Asami, but cheated on her with Korra."

"Oh." She said to herself as she put on her shirt.

"And Tenzin is worried Mako will cheat on Korra. I don't know if he will or not. Anyway, Mako thinks that teaching you fire-bending will gain him some brownie points with Tenzin." He took a breath. "But Tenzin loves me, cuz I'm not romantically involved with anyone. And I've never cheated on anyone." He tried to laugh. He spoke to himself, "like I even could."

She opened the door. "What was that last part?"

He blushed. "Nothing!"

He looked her over. "Are you sure you're gonna be ok in that. Looks kinda thin."

She shrugged. "It's comfy. And it's the only thing that fits right now." She giggled a little. "Everything I own either has to be taken in or taken out. The problems of being so small for so long and then suddenly gaining weight."

He shrugged and smiled.

Her lower lip bled and she had a black eye.

Noahtok slapped her once more for good measure. "Run away again, and you're punishment will be even more severe." He grabbed her chin and made her look him in the eye. "Do you understand?"

"Yes master." She spoke in a monotone.

He let her go. "Good, but you can forget about dinner tonight." He turned around and walked out the room; locking the door as he closed it. "In fact, you're not even allowed to leave this room until I say otherwise."

Konna stood there for a moment as she listened to his footsteps fade away.

The room had two beds, a giant window, and a beautiful view of the city below.

As soon as she couldn't hear his feet anymore; Konna let her tears flow out of her throbbing eyes. She fell to the floor and curled up into a little ball.

She laid there and cried for a good hour. After that, her eyes could not produce anymore tears. She sat up and wiped away the water that remained on her eyes. She flinched when her hand felt her black eye.

She then stood up and stammered over to the bed up against the wall that would later be replaced with a pile of hay. And, she fell fast asleep.

The sun began to set as Tenzin landed his sky-bison on a ledge on the side of a faraway mountain. He then walked through a small crevasse that was just big enough for him to enter. On the other side was a woman that was about his age and had her arrow tattoos as well. Three children were with her.

He walked over to her. "I'm surprised you don't get more visitors, cousin." He spoke sarcastically.

She looked over at him. "You look old, Tenzin dear." She pouted. "That means I look old."

He rolled his eyes. "It's been a long time Tila."

She walked over to him and crossed her arms. "Now what do I owe this surprise visit?"

He gestured to a stone staircase that was on the other side of the children. "Shall we talk inside?"

She smiled and shrugged. "Sure." She looked over at her children. "Alright, that's enough for today."

The children gave her a small bow.

She then gestured for Tenzin to fallow her. "Come on, I'll get my husband to pour you some tea."

He shrugged as he followed her down the staircase. They soon reached a wooden door on the side of the mountain that was on the middle of the staircase. She opened the door and walked inside. He followed her and closed the door behind him.

A stone circle with a blazing fire sat in the middle of the giant room and illuminated the entire space. Red, black, orange and yellow curtains lined the walls.

Tenzin shuttered a little. "This place always gives me the creeps." He thought out loud.

Tila giggled a little. "Always felt like home to me." She shrugged.

He shook his head as a man with a baby walked up to them. The man had pale skin, ember eyes, raven black hair with a touch of grey around his ears, and a warm white smile. He wore a red and black version of air-nomad robes and a pair of sandals.

She smiled as she held out her arms for the baby. "Is Raleana being a good girl for daddy?"

The man smiled as he passed her the baby. He then looked over at Tenzin. "Tenzin?" he asked. He walked over to him and gave him a hug. "It's great to see you. How's Pema and the kids?"

Tenzin brushed himself off after the man hugged him and gave him a respectful smile. "Pema is doing fine and we just had our fourth child as well. A boy; we named him Rohan. Jinora is well on her way to becoming a master, Ikki is just curious about everything, and Meelo…" He shrugged. "Well, he's Meelo."

"And Korra, isn't she staying with you?"

Tenzin nodded. "Korra's fine. In fact, she just figured out how to air-bend." He turned to Tila. "In fact, she's kinda the reason I'm here."

She smiled and nodded. "Say no more my dear cousin, I'll complete Korra's training."

He sighed heavily. "Not what I meant." He rolled his eyes. "And you know that Korra can only be my student. Actually my dear cousin, I'm here about her sister. The new Antitar."

Tila raised an eyebrow. "Kiori? She couldn't bend her way out of a paper bag let alone be the Antitar."

Tenzin shook his head. "Not Kiori… Konna."

Tila seemed shocked. "That poor girl finally found her way home. Now her, that makes more sense."

Tenzin nodded.

Tila smiled. "How soon can she get here?"

Tenzin's nodding turned into shaking. "She's not coming here. That's the problem. The poor girl has been through so much already; it would be better if she and her sister were not separated. They were just reunited." He explained.

She pouted. "Ya, I guess that makes sense. But, I can't just up and leave my family." She bounced the baby a little.

Tenzin sighed. "I know." He thought for a moment. "How about I cover the basics with her? And when she's ready; she'll come to you, or you come to her… vice versa." He sighed again. "She's gaining quite a footing in Republic City."

She nodded. "Easy to do. My mother didn't want to be a part of the City, she wanted to remain a secret, so she and my father built this place. Speaking of mothers, how is Aunt Katara?"

He smiled. "My mother is doing fine. How is Uncle Ryu?"

She smiled back. "He's doing great." She sighed happily. "So, what's Konna like?"

"Shy." He shrugged. "Very shy."

She shrugged as well. "The complete opposite of Korra. As to be expected. Just like my mother and your father. And me and you."

Tenzin rolled his eyes. "Korra and Konna are very different, yes, but they are also very similar. Just like my father and your mother… and me and you."

The man stepped up to them. "Aang and Lu grew up together, and although they took separate paths in life, they led vary similar lives. At least, that's what I've put together from their stories and journals." He scratched the back of his head and looked the cousins over. "And you two are similar because you both have the same goal in life." He smiled. "I'm sure Konna is very similar to Korra if we give her time to be herself."

Tenzin nodded. "Couldn't have said it better myself, Huan."
