Chapter 13: Make it Official

"You girls have a good time?" Kristoff asked as his front door opened.

"Best walk ever if I do say so myself," Anna replied cheerily. "What about you Elsa? Good for you?"

"Well, it was an okay walk. I've had better," she said teasingly.

Anna lightly punched Elsa's shoulder but followed it with a quick peck on the cheek.

"Alright what's up with you two?" He unglued his eyes from the TV and directed them towards the girls. They were holding hands with their fingers woven together. When he saw this, he smiled with satisfaction. He threw his hands behind his head and leaned back in a relaxed position. "Just call me the matchmaker."

The girls shut the door and joined Kristoff on the couch. Anna gently shoved Kristoff over so she and Elsa could sit next to each other. "How about I call you dumbass?" Anna replied "I think that's a much more fitting title."

"How about matchmaker extraordinaire? I think that's pretty fitting."

"How is that fitting?" Anna asked confused.

"Well he did have a big part in this," Elsa replied gesturing to herself and Anna.

Kristoff pointed at Elsa in confirmation. "Damn right I did."

"How? All he did was sit on the couch."

"We should probably tell her," Elsa said to Kristoff.

"Are you guys keeping secrets from me again?" Anna asked. "Now granted the last secret ended up being wonderful, but are you?"

"After I you passed out last night, I carried you to your room so Elsa and I could…have a little chat about you."

"A little chat? What does that mean?"

Elsa spoke up. "Oh just about how you felt…about me."

Anna looked at Elsa, then back at Kristoff who just nodded. "So you two were conspiring against me then."

"That we were," Kristoff replied smugly. "And it worked out perfectly."

"Can't say that I disagree." Anna squeezed Elsa's hand tighter. "But wait, if you two were talking about me then that means you told her everything I told you that day at Cutie Pies."

"Well…duh. Kinda had to. How else did you expect me to pair you two up?"

Anna raised her hand in a slapping gesture. Kristoff tensed up. "I would have slapped the shit out of you if today turned out to be a disaster."

"Well it's not a disaster therefore I shall remain untouched." As Kristoff relaxed, Anna swiped her hand across his left cheek. Elsa chuckled and patted Anna on the top of her head.

"Good job sis."

"Ow!" Kristoff yelled rubbing his face. "I thought you said you wouldn't slap the shit out of me!"

"Oh please. I can slap you whenever I feel like it," Anna sassed.

Kristoff grumbled quietly and redirected his attention back to the TV.

"That's what I thought," Anna said once again with sass. She leaned her head on Elsa's shoulder. "So want else do you want to do today?"

"I was actually just hoping we could have a lazy Sunday today. If that's alright with you."

"Do I get to hang out with you the rest of the day?" Anna asked.

"I was kind of hoping for that," Elsa replied slightly blushing.

"Then I would love to have a lazy Sunday," Anna responded contently.

"So guess who had the best weekend ever?" Elsa asked barging through the front door of Stems.

Rose put her finger up to her mouth in a thinking pose. "Hmm, was it a certain blonde girl that I know?"

"Is my hair blonde?" Elsa pulled her braid in front of her face to check the color of her hair. "Oh yeah…it is." She threw it back behind her shoulder. "Sorry my excitement is getting the best of me today. Can't even remember what my own hair color is."

Rose laughed cheerily. "Well what is that has you so peppy dear?"

Elsa hopped up on the front counter. "So, you know the girl I've been telling you about?"

"The one that you're completely head over heels for? Yes I remember that one."

"Well, yesterday just so happened to be the greatest day of my life and it had everything to do with her!"

Rose shook with excitement. "You asked her out didn't you!? And she said yes!?"

"Well, something like that," Elsa replied. "I mean it was more like a heartfelt exchange from one girl to another. But we're practically a couple now!"

Rose grabbed Elsa and pulled her off the counter straight into her arms. "That's wonderful to hear, dear! I'm so happy for you!"

"Thanks Rose," Elsa replied trying to force out the words. "Getting kind of hard to breathe though."

Rose released her. "Oops, sorry! Don't know my own strength," she said chuckling. "So, give me the details. How did your whole exchange go?"

"To be honest, I thought she was going to reject me again. I kept running the outcomes through my head all of yesterday morning." Elsa leaned her back against the counter and stuffed her hands in her pockets. She felt a small, thin object at the bottom. She pulled out to discover a piece of folded up paper. She opened it up and read it aloud.

"My dearest Elsa, I hope you have an absolutely marvelous day! I love you!" At the bottom of the note was a heart followed by Anna's name. Elsa held the note up to her heart and sighed affectionately. "I love this girl so much," Elsa said with fluttering eyes.

"I can see why," Rose replied. "Sounds like you have found a wonderful girl. Do everything you can to hold on to her."

"I definitely intend to. I've spent so many years just wondering what if. Now, my wildest dream has finally come true and I don't plan on having it squashed." Elsa carefully stuck the note back into her pocket. "No offense Rose, but I can't wait to get out of here and go home to her."

"None taken," she replied with a light laugh. "Let's plow right through this day then! I don't think it could hurt to let you go home a little early today."

"Did I ever tell you that you're the best boss ever?" Elsa asked kindly. "Because you are."

"Oh don't I know it," Rose said confidently. Suddenly the bell to the front door rang. "Customer!"

"I've got it!" Elsa yelled enthusiastically.

Wonder if she's found the note yet.

"Miss Snow? Are you paying attention?"

Anna snapped out of her daze. "Huh?"

"You were paying attention weren't you?" her teacher asked.

"Of course. Always."

"Then would you like to give me the answer?"

"Umm, sure." She paused. "What was the question again?"

"That's what I thought. Pay attention Miss Snow," the teacher said sternly. She continued with her lesson.

"Rude bitch," Anna mumbled. As she focused on her hate for her teacher, she felt her pants vibrate. She reached in and pulled out her phone. It was a message from Elsa.

'I loved your note! I hope you have a great day too! I love you! XOXO.'

Seeing Elsa's text brought a smile across Anna's face. She immediately started texting her back.

'Thank you! I really wish you were here right now. Come drag me away from my witch of a teacher. Pwetty pwease.' She hit send. She clenched the phone in her hand tightly, eagerly awaiting Elsa's response. After a minute or two her phone vibrated again.

'Oh so my princess needs saving huh? Haha'

'Your princess needs your help. You're the only one that can save me. Rescue me please!'She hit send once again.

This is so weird. Not more than a couple days ago she was my sister and now she's my…what is she exactly?

Anna quickly went back to her phone to type her next message. 'Question for you.' Send. Anna waited for a response. Elsa wasted no time in getting back to her sister.

'Shoot.'

'So are we like officially dating? I mean I know we're together but are we like girlfriend and girlfriend?' Send. Anna waited in anticipation hoping for the answer she wanted. She clenched her phone tightly. She jumped when her hand shook. She anxiously checked the message.

'Well I'm certainly not opposed to it.' She followed her message with a smiley emoticon.

Anna started to squeal excitedly before she stopped herself by throwing a hand over her mouth. She internally screamed with excitement.

'Then it's official! You are my new girlfriend!' Anna followed her message with a heart. She excitedly hit send and shoved her phone back into her pocket. It stayed there for all of about ten seconds before she whipped it out again.

'You know Elsa, I said yesterday was the best day ever but today is a close second." Send.

Elsa wasted no time in responding. 'Now you're just sucking up to me.' Her message was followed by an emoticon with its tongue sticking out.

'Is it working?' Send. Anna looked over at the clock. There was still half a school day left. She quietly groaned. Her phone buzzed again.

'It always works.' Her text was once again followed by a smiley emoticon.

"Phone. Now."

Anna looked up from her phone to discover her teacher with her hand extended. She was so distracted with talking to Elsa she hadn't noticed her teacher hovering over her. Anna reluctantly handed over her phone but not before removing her battery. I don't need you going through my phone. The teacher snatched it from her hand and walked back to the front of the class. Other students around Anna began snickering.

"God dammit," Anna mumbled to herself.

"Go ahead and head on home dear, I can handle the last hour by myself."

"Are you sure Rose? I don't mind staying," Elsa insisted.

"I'm sure," Rose replied smiling. "Go be with your woman."

"Well alright." Elsa took off her apron and threw it in the back room. "Don't have too much fun here without me." She headed to the front door waving goodbye. As her hand touched the handle, the door flew open.

"Perfect timing!"

Elsa turned around to see Anna's shining face. "Hi!" She gave Anna a quick hug and started pulling her inside. "Since you're here, you should meet Rose!"

"Oh I don't know Elsa," she said nervously. "I'm not really great with new people."

"You're going to love her. She's super nice. Come on!" Elsa dragged Anna up to the front counter and presented her to Rose like a trophy.

"Well, well, well. Is this the wonderful girl you've told me so much about?" Rose asked.

Elsa excitedly nodded. "Rose, this is Anna my si...girlfriend! She's my girlfriend." Elsa mentally wiped her forehead, knowing she just dodged a bullet.

"Hi, I'm Anna. Nice to meet..." Before she could finish her sentence, she was practically pulled over the counter by Rose in a hug.

"Very nice to meet you dear! Elsa hear has told me so much about you." Rose released Anna and patted her on the head.

"All good things I hope."

"Oh absolutely! And now that I've finally met you I can see why she talks about you so much."

Anna blushed. "Thank you. You're very kind." She looked over at Elsa who just gave her a little wink causing her to blush more.

"Well I think I've kept you two long enough. I promised Elsa she could go home early today and I stick to my promises." Rose started to make a shooing motion. "Go on now. Go enjoy each other!"

"Will do! Have a nice evening Rose!" Elsa replied waving. She grabbed Anna by the wrist and drug her out of the shop.

"Whoa slow down there sis," Anna said giggling.

"Oops sorry!" Elsa let go of Anna. "Sorry I didn't hurt you did I!?" she asked nervously.

"Not at all." Anna kissed Elsa on the cheek and grabbed her hand. "Take me home?"

"It will be done my princess," Elsa replied bowing.

"You're such a dork. But you're an adorable dork."

"I try," Elsa replied contently. They both climbed into Elsa's car and started heading for home.

"So I want to talk to you about something Anna."

"Sure about what?"

"Well I was just thinking. I know we haven't been like, 'together' together for that long. I mean it's only been a couple days actually but..." Elsa became more nervous the more she spoke.

"What is it Elsa?"

"I mean I love Kristoff and all but we can only live with him for so long." Elsa gripped the steering wheel tighter. "So I was thinking..."

Anna laid her hand on Elsa's knee. "Just tell me."

"I was thinking that we could maybe...if you want...get our own place..." Elsa exhaled deeply. She waited for a moment for a response before looking over at Anna. She had a wide smile strewn across her face.

"Absolutely!" she replied excitedly. "I would love that!" She hugged Elsa's arm, jerking the steering wheel a bit. Elsa quickly regained control.

"Really!? I was hoping that would be your answer," Elsa replied giggling. "I don't know why I was so nervous. I mean, we've lived together for fifteen years."

"Dork," Anna said lightly punching Elsa's arm. "But wait. How will we afford our own place?"

"I've saved up enough money over the past few years from work. I'm sure we can find someplace halfway decent for us to live." Elsa placed grabbed Anna's hand. "But you know, living in an apartment isn't exactly cheap, even with two people. You know what that means don't you?"

Anna's happiness quickly turned to disappointment. "Don't tell me I have to get a job..."

"I'm afraid so."

Anna groaned loudly. "But I've never even had a job before. I'm eighteen and never worked a day in my life. Wow...that sounds even worse coming out of my mouth."

"It's not like you're looking for a career. Just a way to make money," Elsa replied trying to comfort Anna. "I'll even help you look for one."

"Ugh, fine. But I won't like it." Anna crossed her arms. "I was kind of getting tired with living with Kristoff anyway. If moving out means we can get away from him, then I guess I can endure the pain of having a job."

"That's the spirit. We'll start looking tomorrow. Sound good?"

Anna turned her nose up at the suggestion pretending to be more upset than she really was. Elsa pulled Anna's hand up to her mouth and lightly kissed it. When she did, Anna playfully turned away pouting, trying to hide her smile. Elsa giggled to herself and gripped Anna's hand tighter.

I love you.
